united law services / Payday Loan Fraud
My father in law received a phone call from "Nick Stevens" from United Law Services from a 760 number. The call scared my father in law and he called me.
I contacted the number that was given. United Law Services claims that I took out a payday loan August of 2009. I never even knew there were such things until this year, and I did not take out a loan in 2009. This Mr. Stevens was very nasty about the fact that I needed to pay the amount due "now". I told him that I knew "beyond any shadow of a doubt" that I had not taken out this loan..."I even have the account statement for August 2009 in front of me that shows no deposit for a payday loan." He got very angry and said the judge would take care of it and hung up. What can people do about these type of call? He had my phone number, my father in laws number, and probably my other information.
Just a note: when people take out payday loans, the company has the account information and does an automatic debit for the payments.
