United Auto Credit [UACC] Harassment

When I purchased my car, I was financed through United Auto Credit Corp. This was December 11, 2007. I have had nothing but problems since that time. I have been under constant harassment. They have even had the nerve to go to my sister's neighbors. How would they know me? They said that if I am 1 day late they have the right to repo my car since there are no grace periods. They leave threatening messages on the phone, etc. This is the office in Tampa, FL. Before, it was with the Palm Harbor, FL office. They at least were willing to work with you and allowed you to make you payment before 30 days to make sure it was not reported to credit bureau.

I have learned my lesson & will NEVER finance anything else through them. I would rather walk first. Please people... do yourself a favor... do not do business with them.

I have a car loan through United Auto Credit and if you are a day late they harass you til they get a payment, they call everyday they even called people that I didn't give permission for them to call they come by your job they even came to my house, they don't realize it but that is really harassment. When they would call I would try to tell them when I would be in with a payment but they didn't want to hear it they got an attitude and told me it had to be in right then. They don't understand that things come up. I remember one time a had worked a double shift (2nd and 3rd) they called me that morning when I had gotten off and she basically told me that I had to drive all the way up there to make my payment it would have been about twenty-five miles on the highway with no sleep, that meant I was putting my life in danger. If I had of known they were like this I would have never gotten the car!

I have had my car for 2 years now. I have never missed a payment, never been late on a payment until this month. I use the online bill pay through my bank. For some reason I guess with the holidays it was going to take and extra day to get the UACC, So I called them and let them know... No issues there.

The day my bill was due I got a call at 11am from UACC, I explained that I already called and said that it would eb there tomorrow and the online thing and all of that... no problem.

20 min later my boss walks up to me and says that he just got a call from my car company threatening to come repo my car... I called them back and they said it was a standard call when people dont answer there calls... but as stated earlier I had talked to someone. I explained this adn the ladies response was "Oh well, no harm done" Of coarse I was a little off set by her comment so I raised my voice and told her that they called MY BOSS and told him pretty much that I am a dead beat who dosent pay his car... she hung up on me.

3pm I get a call from a guy from UACC, he was a cool guy laid back, he asked about my payment... I went over the whole thing with him. I was calm and straight to the point and he was really nice about it. He apologized for any inconvienence and said that he would note the account to look for it tomorrow when the mail man gets there. (The check goes to a PO box... I didnt think about it at the time)

430pm I get another call from the origional lady who was rude to me about my boss... demanding I go to western union and wire them money... I hung up on her. She called me back and said she was sending out a tow truck... I hung up... a guy called me back yelling about how I was yelling ubsenities to the lady from before and how I was a horrible person... I hung up

945am the next day... same lady same attitude... demanding, tow truck bla bla bla... I hung up

11am new guy. started talkin to me like we were buddies adn how he knows how financial problems hit everyone, and it isnt my fault, and when can I pay... I explain how it should be there today, in the mail, when the mail man drops off... he gets a little agressive with his voice and tells me not to lie to him. I told him to go @#$! himself and hang up...

No more calls, no tow truck... I guess the mail got there...

These people are rude, they lie, and they attempt to make you feel like a horrible person... dont use them... ever.

United Auto is full of a bunch of ###s who probably make less money than I do and they call acting like my payment is going into their pockets. Coming to people's jobs and homes is a bit much. That is just harassment all together.

Ma'am, if you would simply read your contract you would clearly see that once you fall one day past due we have every legal right to invoke the default clause and repossess our vehicle. You cannot drive for free. You would not have to hear from us at all if you simply made your payment on time. We finance people with poor or no credit, so quite obviously having a grace period did not work for you. Keep in mind it is only when you fail to return phone calls and treat your account as an adult that we need to contact your references. If it bothers you that we contact them, I have a solution...MAKE YOUR PAYMENT ON OR BEFORE YOUR DUE DATE. Millions of americans do it everyday and when they can not, they call and ask for help...its simple. Be responsible.

United Auto Credit [UACC] Terrible experience

I had the worst phone call from some jerk! His name was Jason... He is a branch manager at one of the Chicago lands branches. He called our store disrespecting one of the employees for screening his call.

First of all, all companies screen calls, and for him to decline a deal (a loan), because he was upset is very bad as far as work ethic! Jason doesn't own the bank, he works for the bank, for him to take anything personal is outrageous! Jason lost the company money and future business for UACC. If i were UACC, I would have him fired! People like that are who give companies a bad name! I am in finance and in sales, the people at this branch would not give me any #s so that i could complain!

I will never send any business to UACC ever again!

I am intrigued by so many of these postings about UACC and find so many of these stories disheartening. However one that particularly draws my attention is the one from "Mr. K.o". You identify a specific individual. I wonder whether or not this could be considerd slander? Additionally, the tone of your statement is undoubtedly threatening. Be careful.

I disagree with the complaint toward Jason. If it is the same Jason that I have dealt with for the last couple of years, there has to be more to the story than is mentioned in this complaint. He has always been very helpful to me and my business. UACC has helped me to grow my business and flourish as a used car dealership. I have always enjoyed my business relationship with him and would highly recommend UACC as a financial institution to purchase my contracts.

United Auto Credit [UACC] Stay away

This company *** the big one. I had a late payment do because I couldn't find a working Western Union machine at the time. Some lady called me and I said to her "I don't understand how this company doesn't take electronic transfers of any kind, credit or debit and this going out of my way Western Union BS was getting old". I asked her why is this company making it hard for me to pay them THEIR money. She replied that it's to teach me a lesson because I have bad credit (which I don't). I said that's the dumbest thing I ever heard and asked her do you really believe that you let that BS come out of your mouth? She said yes. UACC is the worst, I say it again worst business I have ever had to deal with. It should be typed on the contract, we have gangster’s & thugs on the payroll so think twice before signing. UACC is like someone gathered up all the loan sharks off the streets and united them with their thug debt collectors together.

This comment is for Itsme. I have been a customer with UACC for 2 yrs. and the service is HORRIBLE! Your right you can make a pymt over the phone but they tell you it'll cost you $15 to do so, which whether you want to admit it or not is a complete rip off. They harass people for no reason at all. I have told them not to call my place of employment and gave them my cell # along with my home # and they called my job anyway to be ignorant and that wasn't because my pymt was late but because they wanted to know if my address was still good! Obviously your someone on they're payroll because I have yet to meet or even speak with a "happy customer" of theirs. There have been times that I have talked to someone in the office and then later that day they called my references anyway to ask them questions about me. They not only harrass customers but they'll also harrass your references. I wish that I would've looked into this company before I signed my name on that loan. Everytime I look them up online, all I can see are all of the complaints.

This is a really funny complaint! See as of 02/2008 UACC does accept payments over the phone via credit card or ACH draft. Perhaps you should actually talk to the collectors at your office before spouting off.

United Auto Credit [UACC] Shady practices!

Whatever you have to do to avoid using this company, you should do it! This type of company should be illegal. They don't want your payments! They want your car! The first time you are late they Reposes it! No matter how your payment history is. No matter what your reasons for hardship. This subprime financing crisis is just another way for the government to ensure that poor people stay poor. UNITED AUTO CREDIT SHOULD BE STOPPED. DO NOT... I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE SO SHADY AND FOCUSED ON GETTING YOUR CAR IT IS ALMOST A GUARANTEE THEY WILL FIND A REASON TO REPOSES.

If you are late and don't make your payment on time you are in violation of your contract with them. They have every right to repossess the vehicle. I would recommend paying your bill on time.

All you assclowns are completely right. We didn't take excellent care of our credit, maybe we let some bills go unpaid or made some mistakes and now we are forced to pay the high interest and deal with the harassing phone calls, excessive fees and annoyances. I mean, we can't be perfect like all of you who are NEVER late on ANY bill under ANY circumstances...take for instance my almost late payment. My wife pays all the bills and balances the checkbook. Well the check she sent she forgot to sign...how stupid right? I mean, only a complete idiot would make a mistake like that...she should be working fast food instead of running a law office, right? I mean, I am sure that is what YOU are thinking...but I digress...they sent the check back in plenty of time for her to sign it and send it back, but we got busy with our 8 month old and all the housework and I had planned to run it to the office that is 45 mins. from my house, but I didn't want to drag my baby all the way there. I know, I am just making excuses...You would have run it up there the very same day you received it in the mail. So anyways, on the day it was due she called to pay over the phone with the debit card. They charged us $15.00 for that. Ok fine, seems a bit excessive but whatever. Then the lady informed my wife that if it had been late, then they would have tacked on an additional $150.00 for which I am sure we justly deserve, since we are poor, lazy, unethical people who simply choose not to pay our bills. My point is, you sit here and mock, ridicule and shame this guy. Is it not enough that we pay 24% interest when most of you pay less than half that? I put $700 down on a $5, 000 vehicle that I hope to have paid off in about 6 months and hopefully my credit will be in better shape then so I can get a better loan. Do I agree that we should be grateful (thats how you spell it Bill Payor- by the way, that is pretty clever, you think that up on your own or did your kid think that one up?) that they gave us a chance? YES- I needed a vehicle and my problems are more with the dealer than the finance company. Do I think we should be given the same level of respect as anyone else giving their hard earned money (unless you are a single mother of 4 kids with 4 different fathers living on welfare)? Absolutely! I am a good guy who made some mistakes and I do the best that I can. But I don't need a bunch of halfwits like all of you trying to tear me or anyone else down because somehow you think you are better than us because you can get a bigger loan with a better interest rate. You people make me sick and Bill Collector...you say we are were we are because we can't get a loan anywhere else and we are below the normal intelligence level? Please Einstien, tell me what the "Normal" Level is for intelligence based on I.Q. and I know for a fact I am above it. Probably higher than you are, numbnuts. Now I realize that most of you probably won't even see this, but if you do and you want to respond to what I said or debate it, please...I am begging you to say something. I love nothing more than making people look even dumber than they make themselves look on a daily basis.

IF ANYONE OF THE DEBTORS THAT IS PAST DUE TO UNITED AUTO CALLED AND EXPLAINED THEIR SITUATION THEY WILL AND I REPEAT WILL WORK WITH YOU- IT'S A RIDICULOUS IDEA
THAT THEY WANT YOUR CAR THEY ARE MAKING 24.99 SIPMLE INTEREST OFF YOU THERE IS NO REASON TO TAKE THE CAR. BUT THE CUSTOMERS W/ THIS COMPANY ARE THERE FOR A REASON, THEY CANT GET A LOAN ANYWHERE ELSE AND THEY ARE BELOW THE NORMAL INTELGENCE LEVEL, WHO PUTS 3-4 GRAND DOWN ON A USED CAR WHEN THEY COULD OWN ONE W/ THAT $

I definately agree with "DON" perhaps paying your bills in a timely manner may assist you with preventing repossession of your vehicle. Additionally, I do believe that what I know about this business it was apparrenlty not a multiple choice of banks at your finger tips fighting to lend you money. This lender is a subprime i.e. "your credit worthiness is not favorable". Sounds to me as though you should have been greatful for the opportunity for a second chance, versus complaining about what got you repod in the first place... PAY ON TIME, COMMUNICATE = AVOID THE HOOK!

It sounds to me there is a lot more involved to your situation. I don't know of any finance company that wants to take a loss or does not want to work with a debtor. If you are staying in touch with the lender and making and keeping sound arrangements, then you will stay in your car. When you stop communication and stop making payments a lender has only one option, take back their collateral. Sorry for your loss!

I agree with this. United Auto Credit and Orlando Auto Mall are working together to scam consumers with bad credit out of their money and the vehicle. They take your cash down payment and as soon as you miss a payment or you are late they want the car back. Orlando Auto Mall has refused to title or tag the car that I have. I know this is illegal. I believe they are working together to scam innocent consumers with bad credit.

United Auto Credit [UACC] Car Payment

I haven't been late on one car payment...not ONE! I've been paying this car loan for 4 years! I just recently got into a financial bind. I contacted the office today to inform them that I would be making this payment on my next payday, which is a week and a half away, only to be treated like ###! The teo ladies that I spoke with, Lillian and Sherry (manager) talked to me like I was complete ###. Sherry told that I needed to have my priorities in order! ###! I explained to her that I was moving and that was part of what put me in a financial bind. She said that I chose to move ( which I did not) and that I should have put some moving money back for the car payment! How rude are these people?!?! This is ridiculous. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY...you will regret it. I promise you that...

SHERRY in KNOXVILLE is a SUPER B-I-T-C-H. I've had to deal with her before also. I hope that skank has good hand washing habits. I took a big runny dump and wiped my a$$ on the Benjamins that were given to her for my last payment.

If she is that hateful to her customers, just down right rude, I couldn't imagine how she is in her day to day family life. I feel sorry for everybody in her family that has to deal on a daily basis with the worst witch on the planet.

Can't even have compassion for someone who was dying of brain cancer. I so hope you have to go through the same thing and nobody will give a [censored] about you or your loved ones. KARMA is on its way back around to you.

United Auto Credit [UACC] Lies and failed to return promised phone calls!

After 22 months of making all my payments on time by car was involved in an accident and declared a total loss. My insurance company paid for all but 600 dollars. I contacted UACC immediately and although they said they would go to bat for me, negotiate a payoff and work with me on the balance it was all a lie. After they received the money from the insurance company they renigged and told me that UACC never negotiates a payoff or any other thing. They said this loses their high interest rate money. Although I diligently worked with them over a two month period to get the best payoff and maintained my payments they lied, could not remember conversations, and failed to return promised phone calls on at least 5 occasions. This is the most unscrupulous business I have ever encountered. They were working with a very good customer and said the reason they did not return phone calls was because they were understaffed and everyone kept calling in sick. They acted as if that was my problem.

Anyone else have a situation like this...

Paid off loan with united auto credit corporation on 3/2/2018 and they still have not removed lien or sent title as of 9/2/2022. I have just paid off my car off from United Auto Credit. They did call me the day before my payment was due asking when I was going to make my payment. That was really the worst of it, but I do have to say seing the comments some of the people that work there leaving really makes one believe the customers complaints about them being nasty towards them are right. I do think the ways the employees are speaking to people on this thread is very unprofessional! Waiting on my title now hoping and praying it doesn't turn into something that takes months!

United Auto Loan activated a shut off device in my car last year. I didnt know that they could disable your car from a satellite but i was aware that they had the ability to track it. One day last yea, summer of june, my car would not start. i had it towed to Courtney Honda in Milford, CT...They had my car for two months! they could not figure out why the engine wouldnt start. an inspector from the warrantee compnay who nobody seemed to know his name came out and had them take the entire engine apart. long story short, my warrantee company paid them $1, 000 and my out of pocket was $1, 300.00! They will be hearing from my lawyer, becuase im having the same issue, but this tim eive figured it out!

Finance companies get a lot of flack for issues that have nothing to do with them. You buy a car, a used car, finance it because you cant buy outright...well, if totaled you will get what your insurance deems ACV...you can fight with them, but most wont budge. Your payoff is not the ACV. Sometimes less, sometimes more, sometimes, but rarely exactly what you owe. A collector calls because that is the job. period. If you do not like being called, then stay current. Remember who signed the contract...just saying...hard lesson for many to take responsibility for what you get into...because you wanted to...

I am a Finance Manager at a big dealership and i DO use UACC. I have a great question for all the people complaining, Do you PAY your bills on time? I would say NO YOU DONT. UACC and CAC and the other subprime lenders are there for a REASON! I understand bad things happen to good people all the time, BUT i think most of you use that excuse for your whole lifes. I have used subprime lenders like UACC for years and IF you pay on time and IF you TRY to get your credit going better you only have to use them ONCE! My wife was a Branch Manager for UACC for YEARS and i agree they are not the company id choose to work for BUT they do help people with credit issuses when not many lenders will, but you have to be SMART and use your head, just because you WANT that SUV for $600 a month and your approved do you really need it? or could you start your credit with a $250 payment on a nice car? I know from 20 years in the car bussiness that the people who WANT this and that wont pay and dont have common sence, or they wouldnt be in this forum to begin with, my advice is LISTEN to the special finance manager and LISTEN when they tell you that if you get the lower payments then IF you are late and most will be, its easier to make two $250 payments at one time than a $1200 payment right? and ALLWAYS ALLWAYS get an extended warr... do you have the $2000 to $5000 to fix a motor? You know you cant get a loan for it, so BE SMART, and WHEN you use common sence you never have to use a subprime lender again, ONCE you get your credit where it should be. Dont blame the company thats taking a HUGE risk on you, look in the mirror and man up. and FYI the rates are high YES THEY ARE but for every one that pays on thier car 4 do not, and FYI IF YOUR HONEST and tell them that they payments sent, make sure it is or just TELL them you have to understand that they are lied to every other phone call and they have the reports on your loan about payment promised ect ect, so they know if youve lied before and they probably do get short with the ones that every month lie to them. Use common sence and get a payment YOU CAN MAKE and make them on time for 24 months and another lender WILL grant you credit, i see it happen every day

Around Feb or March 2012 United Auto changed the computer systems and stopped updating customers loan account payments to the credit reporting agencies and I received a letter in the mail with my new account number around this same time. When I called to see why my report was not updating monthly on Equifax, Experian, and Transunion and explained to them this was hurting my credit score because the account was not updating for several months they were no help! She said "Probably because it was due to the system update in February" and hung up on me before I could say anything further. I called back and asked to speak with a Supervisor as I also wanted to update my home address as I had just moved and the previous agent had hung up on me before I could request the update. The Supervisor I spoke with said he wasn't that particular agents supervisor but assured me he would forward my complaint to her supervisor so he could play the call back and use it for call coaching and training with her. While I was speaking with the supervisor he kept putting me on Mute as I kept hearing dead silence till I would ask are you still on the phone. He would come back online and basically say he couldn't help me but possibly he updated my new address. I submitted my request online from the United Auto contact us link and received no response. What is up with this Rude Unprofessional Company. I have no bad credit and the only thing I finance and have on my credit report is this loan which has always been paid on time for two years so why the rude treatment and failure on updating my credit report promptly when I am expected to pay my car payment on the exact date it is due?

I read several blogs going either way about the company ACC. I do not agree with calling someone a LOOSER or other terms used to put people down with bad credit. If you have never been in their shoes, feel BLESSED however please keep in mind that at any given time things can be taken away from you. Not everyone can budget their money properly, no I would not call or consider then STUPID or LOOSER. Yes, I do have bad credit starting from when I was younger and then being laid off several times. Once you are in the rear it is hard to get out of a situation, when more things keep happening. So, yes I completely fault myself, however do unto others as you would want done to yourself. Yes, I am tired of being treated below human due to my credit. I should not be given trash as a last resource due to my credit. You either going to give me a second chance or just tell me no. I am currently being treated as an ignorant customer and communicated to as I am a child for $40. I will definitely not be late a damn penny with my payments and look forward to trading my car in. I really enjoyed each blog posted on this site.

Wow, such hatred. First off, one thing many people need to understand. If you were sent to this company, YOU have bad credit. YOU have screwed up in paying back the money owed that NO ONE wants to give you a loan. When I first got a loan there, I was interviewed. Based on my explanation of why I struggle maintaining good credit, the company took a risk in giving me this loan. They stressed NO GRACE PERIOD. If you are one day late, then expect the call. I've experienced the calls. And YES, I do agree that their employees need training in their customer service skills but imagine this, when you have to repeatly tell your kids over and over something, dont you get frustrated? When you lend someone (a family member or a friend ) money and they take so long to return it, wouldnt you get frustrated? I waited 6 month to a year, to try get a loan with another financial company, I eventually did and left United Auto Credit Corporation in good terms. YOU Should also hold your self accountable for your actions. It so easily to blame others for your mistake.
