Unilever/Slimfast / Slimfast Refund
All consumers who have not yet received their refunds for the contaminated Slimfast product recalled in December 2009 should do what I have done. I too waited 12 weeks for my refund while making numerous unsuccessful attempts to contact a real person at Unilever. So, I filed formal complaints with the Attorney General Consumer Protection division of my own state, The Attorney General, Consumer Affairs Division for the State of New Jersey, The Better Business Bureau of New Jersey and my local television Consumer Protection Reporter.
Soon afterward I received a check from Unilever but for only a third of what they owed me. I have returned the check to Unilever, with a letter requesting my full refund. I have copied this letter to all the above consumer protection organizations. I advised Unilever in my letter that "You have chosen to cheat the wrong person".
My local CBS Television News station has extended a written offer for me to be interviewed on camera regarding this issue and I am waiting to see if Unilever does the right thing by sending me my full refund before I decide about their offer.

Please make the extra effort to hold Unilever accountable. They are counting on consumers to just give up so please do not allow them to cheat you.
