Nightmare experience trying to build house house with UBuildIt. It is all smoke and mirrors. Little substance to their value proposition. More trouble than worth trying to manage UBI when I am paying them to insure quality contraction. Untruths abound. Excuses always point to someone other than themselves. Over costs because of re-dos and mistakes are running at nearly 18% of build. Walked away from job when 80% financed and had to hire another builder to finish project.
Be wise like a fox when dealing with these guys. Great personalities but when caught in falsehoods, cheating, incompetence their preferred position is to simply smile and say "let's pray about it".
I've learned a great lesson about better checking references before doing business with building consultants. Oh, and that is their defense whenever and the often times that they blunder...we are only the consultants.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
We had the exact same experience, word for word. Smoke and mirrors, little substance, ridding our lives of them became easier than attempting to get them to do anything we were paying them for. Smiles and praying about it is always the response, or else the "only consultants" excuse. Not too long into our build (after getting 15K from us) they went missing all together, then months later, owned all fault to "leaving us on a island to fend for ourselves", yet turned back on their word at the end when they attempted to deny any fault and collect a full final payment. Settled in a lawsuit. Huge mistake on our part, costly and time consuming.
