Bid, won and received a 'Sterling Silver Diamond Tennis Bracelet' After receiving the bracelet, I got out the magnifying glass and located 1 pin head sized diamond (alleged). Sure it was a cheap auction, however they had the good ol 'compare to' price of $600.00. LOL, its not worth more than costume jewelry. Auction said to click on thumbnail to get close up, tried that, it was a dead link. Shipping was in the vicinity of $18.00, it arrived in a tiny little zip lock bag in a 20 cent padded envelope with $1.33 postage.

This isn't the first time they scalped me, I won an auction for a gents Wohler Unger Watch for 72.00, MSRP - 3495.00. Manufacturers website also states same MSRP. The most popular auction site we all know has same watches being sold by other suckers for around $80.00. One customer allegedly had a Wohler skeleton watch appraised, came in at $120 - $180. a far cry from these fake MSRP's.

I warn you all, stay well clear unless it's known brand names for sale. I have since requested full refunds including shipping or it's off to the small claims court, well worth every dime of the filing fee.

Ubid also offers a fraud protection guarantee, we'll see how they stand by this, I'm sure there will be lot's aof side stepping, arguing and quoting putting all the blame back onto me

Forwarned is forarmed my fellow online shoppers, beware!

Ubid is a horrible website. I ordered Mac Pro and it didnt even have all the right keys on the keyboard. What a joke. A sticky hair covered box, no manual, and a computer that was scratched to h***! proceed at your own risk but don't use this website. The don't ship for a week and they charge you hidden sales fees. Good luck with their "customer services"... you have been warned!

Ubid is a complete rip off. I was looking at a SD chip the other and found a 32gb chip for $1.00. I jumped on it like a fat kid on cake only to find that they were trying to charge $59.95 for shipping and handling. Now mind you this item is approximately 1 inch by 1inch and weighs less than a pound.
So out of curiosity I wrote to them to inquire about it and here is the tap dancing reply that I received:

Thank you for contacting uBid.com regarding our shipping and handling charges. Our goal is to consistently provide exceptional value and service when you are shopping at uBid.com.

Shipping costs are an inherent feature in any mail-order service. Our shipping costs not only include the cost for shipment of your product, but also order processing. Order processing includes insurance, assembly and packaging of each order, as well as credit card processing. We understand that sometimes, the shipping costs may represent a large percentage of the overall price of an item but when you look at overall cost, uBid.com still provides a great value. The format for calculating the shipping and handling charge is based on a combination of the shipment method and the total weight of the product selected. Please note that the shipping and handling is per item. Therefore, if 5 items are purchased the first item has a set price and the additional 4 items have a set price. The shipping and handling information is presented on the bid page for your convenience.

uBid.com continuously re-evaluates the policies and your feedback is an important part in that practice. In addition, we continually review other e-tailers and retailers to insure that we remain competitive and continue to provide our customers with exceptional values and services.

Thank you again for your feedback.

If you have any further questions or comments, simply reply to this email. In order to assist you properly, please do not change the subject in your reply.

MSRP are manufactured by them, here`s the game.

the seller sets up a fake website, with product priced horrendously out of reason, so at that point they have a reference to their advertised savings .

the product is available somewhere else for 50 to 70 dollars, while the MSRP varies from [protected] us dollars..

shipping is 18 bucks (as stated by some one that paid that) and shipped for around ONE DOLLAR FIFTY..

before you are given the privilage of bidding you have to furnish them with all your info, CC numbers and all..

it all smells like a death rat in the sun...BAD BAD BAD...

i for one will stay away from such crappy sites..

Hello to you i'm James The Jeweler in Atlanta, Ga and i have my own jewelry discussion group under "JEWELRY & WATCHES" i read your complaint and i have to ask you what would make you think a diamond tennis bracelet set in STERLING SILVER would have a retail value of $600?

The only way that bracelet would have a RETAIL VALUE of that much is if there far more diamonds that what you've stated you saw with your loupe, and then the bracelet would have to atleast be 1ct total weight in diamonds that have a quality of no less than G - H color, SI1 to SI2 clarity. Sterling silver is not going to command any real value in a diamond tennis bracelet, the value must be in the size and quality of diamonds set in that bracelet.

I'm also going to suggest you STOP SPENDING YOUR MONEY WITH UBID.COM because how can you tell anyone here not to do business with this online retailer, and you keep going back to them spending your own money, losing it in the process?

I'm going to say this again here: THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A DEAL ON "QUALITY" LOOSE DIAMONDS, GEMSTONES, or DIAMOND JEWELRY. You get what you pay for that's why i'm here to educate some of you on what you should be buying over what you SHOULDN'T be buying when it comes to jewelry.

If you have any jewelry questions feel free to contact me here.
