U-Haul International service

The U-Haul on 10105 State Hwy. 64E. Tyler. Tx. 75707 should be closed down immediately. There is one woman working there who provides no assistance to hooking on trailers. She doesn't even have knowledge as to how to do it. She handed us a jack that didn't work and a direction pamphlet. She was also extremely rude telling me if I didn't put the blankets in a bag I would be charged $25.00.

U-Haul International auto transport, car dolly

I pick up a auto transport and a car dolly in Pennsylvania.During the course of the road trip down south, i expierence alot of issues with the strap. They kept coming very loose.
These equipment are very bad maintained and very unsafe. At the end of the destination i had to put a big fuss at the location for them to realize how unsafe there equipment was. I talk to the manager of the site and no appolgys was even given. Poor customer service.

U-Haul International fraudulent insurance scam

I rented a U-Haul truck a month ago and just received a letter from the U-Haul insurance company stating I damaged the truck and they need my insurance information. I did not damage the truck the truck was damaged when I rented it. When I dropped the truck off lady that inspected the truck and the lady at the counter were talking about the damage. The lady at the counter told the other lady the damage was caused by a customer that rented the truck before me and that the gentleman who inspected the truck did not report it. Now I am being charged for another customers damages and keep getting the run around by U-Haul customer service. I still have not gotten this issue resolved.

U-Haul International refused to give me my change

I rented a 20 ft truck Sunday morning 7/23/17 for a one way rental, about 75 miles away. It cost $173.89. I gave him $200.00 in cash. (2bills). He said that when I returned the truck at my destination, THEY would give me the change plus whatever miles that i didn't use. I asked him how they would know that they owed me change. He circled where it said my change was on the ticket and said to show them. When I returned the truck and showed them they said that it looked like I already got my change and they couldn't give it. They called the district manager and she said for me to file a complaint. That she would handle it. I decided to go back the next day. Today and speak to the manager at the original uhaul who kept my change. I went at 7 am. The manager said the guy who waited on me wouldn't be in til 3pm. They would count down the drawer then and call me. I called them at 3:45. He still wasn't in. BUT THEY WILL CALL ME he said. They close in 15minutes. Still no call. I JUST WANT MY DAMN CHANGE!

U-Haul International tow equipment and untrained staff

on 07-20 went to pick up truck to load and then return to uhaul for them to put tow on as it was explained they prefer it this way so to much such it is done correct. There was only 1 person working during a very busy time. We load the car and get down the street the strap has come undone and the chains is not secure. Return to Uhaul same employee states not sure why that happened I dont know what I could have done.. States he is not sure what to do to make the car secure and did i still want to use the tow.. hello I rented it because I need it. So he calls his supervisor who says its okay to give me a trailer to use instead of tow bar. The employee unhooks the chain the straps ect.. Tell us its okay to back of the tow now. Thankfully I noticed that the employee never pull out the ramp to drive off had we not noticed the entire from of car would have been wrecked... Do suggest for people to come have the tow equipment put on by your store if you dont have trained staff...

U-Haul International rented a u haul truck and it stalled.

Hello please look into this online because all our info is there. Me and my husband Harold Ramirez went in to your U haul office to rent a truck so we can move some furniture in our new rental home. OK we did. Then we did our first trip got back to our home to unload. We parked in our drive way because its closer to our little house we are renting. Plus its just me and my husband moving everything and my husband has cancer and gets very sick fast and stressful events make it so worse. OK after we parked unloaded took about 35 minutes. We left the truck off. Then we had to hurry and get it done because we have neighbors that live in the 2 back houses. And I had gotten a good deal on a stove. Since we are on a fixed income we really needed it so we told them give us 30 mins to get there to get the stove. So the seller was holding it for us since it was like 3miles away. So we get in the u haul to do what we need to. And it dont start at all. Nothing and its very hot outside.And our neibobors need to get out. The only way out is the drive way but this big u haul won't start and so the other neighbors need to go pick up there kids and other ones had a funeral to attend. so we dont know what to do. Neighbors are getting mad at us. We told them sorry it dont start. OK they call the landlord to complain that we are blocking the drive way so now the landlord is telling us to move it our we will get a notice that will be on or rental and if we get another we have to move. OK rember my husband has cancer. He starts vomiting getting dizzy and stressing because what do we do? He called the u haul were we got it they transfers to roadside. Took them awhile then the guy from roadside says well its something with electrical a jump won't help. He said there's nothing he can do. Only thing is if we want to pay money to tow it to the street. Member we are on a fix income. And its nothing we did wrong why would we have to pay? So he left very unhelpful. So we get on the bus and go to the uhaul store. And they tell us. They should of not said they will charge us and to call roadside again and have them tow the truck back there to the u haul store and that they will give us another truck. So we wait along time on the phone with the customer service rep. Then she had to transfer us to roadside again. Well they said the guy from roadside should of towed it and without charge because its not are fault and so finally after all this and hours later causeing my husband to get stressed out and get sick and getting a write up from the landlord and losing out on a stove we needed so bad. We couldn't afford another one. But we lost out on that stove. And our neighbor hate us now. This was a terrible stressful day.and all the u haul could do for us was give us another truck and instead of bringing it back at 10am bring it at 5pm oh and the will not charge for the 10 dollar dolly. Now I'm not a ungrateful person but I just dont feel this is fair at all. And after all that getting the second truck the guy was so busy I really didnt see him right down the miles. So when we came back he said well and we won't charge for extra miles. But we just used the second truck to go no more then 8 miles if that. So I really wish they would of took time to right down the miles before we got in the truck. I know they were super busy but still. U-Haul International reservation: cargo van

My husband and I made a reservation for a cargo van at the Uhaul location in Ajax for pick up on Saturday June 3 2017. When my husband arrived to pick up the cargo van ge was informed that there is no cargo van available. Apparently, the previous renter extended their rental time. There was zero communication to my husband and I. The employees at the store at the very least could have reached out to us and call us to advise of the mishap. Instead, my husband encountered a rude, condescending and unapologetic assistant manager. There was no attempt made to problem solve or reach a resolution. Instead, the assistang manager shrugged her shoulders and said either we drive to another store location and pick up a cargo van or no cargo van at all. This is appalling behaviour to me and I will not accept this from Uhaul. I expect thorough follow up and investigation and an apology for the major inconvenience.

U-Haul International auction storage without notice and have no records

The uhual in Waterbury, CT on bank street is where I had my storage. My last name is Abraham. I had been behind on some payments, but I did manage to get an agreement set up with management at this location. I was grateful for that. I believe the ladies name was kathy or katie. I had an agreement set up to come saturday 5/20/17 and pay off my storage balance and take everything out. I arrived on that date and I paid the balance of 776 to a hispanic young lady. After taking the payment she did tell me and my mother that I could start taking stuff out that day and come back the following day. The young lady sent up her coworker to break the additional lock and once she came back downstairs she stated the storage was open and empty. I went up to the storage just to confirm it was the right storage and it was indeed empty! They had no record of the storage being sold at all! I did have a police report done and I do have my final receipt. All of my children's personal documents were n there, my personal documents were in that storage. I had furniture in there that I was still making payments on. Thanks to the mishandling of this property we have lost everything! I'm very upset I haven't heard from anybody from this location when I asked to receive a call from the locations DM! I expect to hear from someone or I will be forced to take legal action!

U-Haul International unauthorized credit card charges/ poor customer service

Manager on duty did not not resolve my issues and contacted me 13 days later. The corporate office told me on 4-15-17, 4-21-17 and 4-25-17 that someone would call me from the local store but never did until i called a 4th time. The customer service was terrible, the wait time was terrible and i was missed lead about the payment, equipment rented. The corporate office did not handle anything correctly and told me the reason i did not receive a call back was because the rep sent my complaint 3 times to the wrong department.

U-Haul International rental of truck and equipment

I reserved a 26' truck for March 24, I received a call that morning saying that the truck was unavailable at my location but that I could drive 20 miles to pick one up. Which was totally out of the question since I had people lined up to help. They told me that I could get a 20' with a 6'x12' trailer which they charged me another $40. Since I didn't have the time to argue I told the lady at Kuna Caves Storage in Kuna, ID that I would take that, then she informs me they don't have an appliance dolly that i had reserved also. She let me use the storage appliance dolly but it had to be back by 3pm, so what am I going to do when I need to unload the Truck. So we get to loading and realize we don't have enough room for everything so I call my son in SE Idaho close to 300 miles away to come and pick up another trailer so we can finish loading. When I get there to set up the trailer for pickup she informs me it is going to be another $175 now a move that was supposed to cost me around $280 is up to $495 not including the gas for my son to drive to haul a trailer. Besides when I was renting the trialer the 26' truck came back and the guy said that was the shortest 7 miles I moved. That really pissed me off. By the time we get the second trialer loaded it is getting late and we are exhausted from all the hassle and moving. So I have to rent lodging for all of us that cost $380 plus meals. Now my move is up to $975. I knew we couldn't unload in one day so I called the drop off location to get an extrta day, sure she says for another $40 now my move is over $1000. I called the uhaul complaint number and she took the information and said someone would call within 24 hours. I received that call and I voiced my complaint to him and all he could say was I am sorry you were inconvenienced, he finally credited me $40 and an extra day to unload but that is just a pittance when you consider what I had to put out because of the incompetence of your company. I am demanding that I be reimbursed the whole cost of my rental for my inconvenience. If I do not I will have to contact the BBB and file a complaint and perhaps post my complaint on facebook and other social media to let people know what type of company this is.

U-Haul International negative experience

Rented a truck via www.uhaul.com which never showed up. I made my booking two weeks in advance and contacted them several times asking if everything was ok. They assured me everything was ok and I'll get my truck on the estimated time and date.
Well, on the estimated date they contacted me and said that my truck was not available. I asked them to find another one but they said that they did not have any free trucks and said how sorry they were that I wasn't satisfied with their service. Are you kidding me? That's not a service! These guys disappointed me a lot and I'll never use them again.

U-Haul International equipment, customer service & broken promises

I sent the President of Uhaul International and the holding company President at AMERCO a letter on August 24, 2015 hoping to resolve my issue with them.

On August 14 I rented a truck from Uhaul. It broke down after only about 20 miles of travel. This is when my nightmare started. On their paperwork, they had my return trip wrong, I had a one-way truck rental; they provided me with a truck that was different than my paperwork, and later found out it was suppose to be an in town rental truck only – not a long distance; they promised to settle my expenses at my destination only to discover this was not correct; and this experience all happened during a heat wave in Mohave County causing me to stay in my van for three hours because they would not extend my room stay while they transferred my household items to another truck! And last but not least, Uhaul never corrected their paperwork during my entire ordeal with them up until my last conversation with them accusing my nephew of driving too fast and nothing was wrong with the truck! Wrong, the truck they issued to me and which broke down, had a radiator seal break and was confirmed by Pinkie's in Kingman, Arizona where it was towed.

Uhaul feels that crediting my rental truck fees are enough to settle my account with them even through my expenses exceeded this credit. I have requested not only the credit of my rental truck fees but full reimbursement for my expenses of $611.20 The credit for my rental truck should have been a good faith customer credit and the $611.20 should be for reimbursement of my expenses.

U-Haul International rude customer service

I stayed in line for 15 minutes waiting for help, there were 2 guys busy, so I understand that. However the other 2 that were in plain sight of me actually carrying on a conversation that was not business related. I have worked in the customer service industry for years, a look up and acknowledgement with a word or two would have kept me waiting. It was only when I left did I get offered help. I will not do business with them again. By the way I was using them for trucks and boxes. I was also buying boxes for work. I have done so for 30+ years

I rented a 17" truck from U-Haul on 8/16/2014, returned it on 8/16/14. I traveled 35 miles and charged for 96.6 miles. When we picked up the truck, it as at 115153.3. U-Haul International terrible service

I am so angry right now after dealing with the inept Daniel McAleese of U-Haul Coram. You would think U-Haul is a brand you can trust, this is not the case with the Coram branch. Not only did they fail to carry out a simple task of adding a trailer hitch to my car, they left me waiting for almost 3 hours before they told me.

I forwarded my complaint to the U-Haul Head office. They did nothing hence my action here.

Do not use U-Haul and especially do not use the Corum brand on Long Island.

U-Haul International now they refused to refund the money

This complaint is still on-going. My fiance has gotten the run-around from UHaul for the past few weeks trying to ship our things. After doing her research she cancelled a previous order made with Uhaul Ubox. Now they refused to refund the money for shipping they haven’t done.
