I am a stay at home mom of 5 looking for a work from home job to support my family. On 04 August 2015 I responded to an advert on Now Hiring. All I had to do was send my CV, Complete an application form and pay R180 for the training manual. Once all this was completed, on 06 August 2015, I received a full manual on how to place adverts for people to respond to so that I may make my money back. Is this not a pyramid scheme? Is it not illegal in this country?
Good day - Google is a WONDERFUL thing - I also wanted to apply but when - as a Freelance Project worker asked for a invoice for the R180.00 I need pay she said and I quote " I am not selling anything just a training manual" A training manual is something you sell last time I checked. DO NOT go for this. The last add i responded was Jobin.co.za. Luckily I have not made

She clearly realised that it was a scam when she came across the opportunity but here we are Oct of 2017 and she is STILL AT IT!
Only now her surname is Palframan but she wasn't clever enough to change her email address.
There are many real legit work from home opportunities out there where companies pay you to promote their products and you only get paid when products are sold. But this is clearly a pyramid schemes stealing money from people who genuinely need a way to make more money!
Sonja Vermaak comes off as a highly professional individual who places empasis on the fact that the given job opportunity is real. Please do not fall for this - it is a scam placed in order to rob you of R180 and then give you the opportunity to steal money from other job advertisement respondents.
Once having paid R180 for the "Training manual", you will recieve a document describing things such as how to go about placing advertisements, responding to advertisement enquiries, the process of getting paid, etc.
In this way, the job description changes after payment of the "Training manual" from "An Online home Data Entry Clerk...processing Email applications, as well as filling out forms in specific company databases" to "place[ing] an ad on the Internet, again, similar to the one you responded to" stating that "the more ads you place the more money you will make".
It is unclear whether "Sonja Vermaak" is the person who started this scam or if she is just a willing participant who is getting paid to steal money from others who are enquiring for the position advertised. Be aware of any advertisements describing similar opportunities -- they sound real and well thought through but it is just another scam.
