Target would not exchange damaged item

Target return department would not exchange a 14.99 rug I purchased on 7-7-08. I used my blank check for a receipt look up but their was no record I made the purchase just a day ago. This method of receipt is suppose to be just as good as the original receipt. I wanted only to exchange for the same item that was not damaged (snagged). Apparently I had 2 returns without a receipt for the year (?), so now I am not allowed to do any returns for the year without a receipt. I now re-purchase the same rug again after being denied the return of the first damaged rug. I simply wanted to return one of the rugs and now I have a receipt! Return desk said I could not do the return because it was illegal. ILLEGAL? I HAVE NOW A VALID RECEIPT AND WANT TO RETURN A RUG! The point I AM MAKING is just a little customer service and a no big deal exception should of taken care of this frustrating experience at Target. A no bend rule, even if it will save business seems to be their way of handling a situation. I will truly go out of my way not to shop at Target. Wal-mart is a good alternative and K Mart will have to do. The level of service from a regular employee to the head cashier/supervisor are the same. No customer satisfaction and management skills that are truly lacking in many ways. Lastly, if I saved every receipt from Target I would have 100s and 100s. Cat food, chips, tank tops, dish soap, shampoo etc. are not worth saving to me. What happened to my receipt look up anyway? I spend 1000s of dollars on a regular basis at Target but when it comes to a customer satisfaction situation they could care less. Target-A ture failure to customers.

Your check wouldn't bring up the receipt because it hadn't gone through. They should have told you to come back when it cleared...

Target they are un-american

Target is a French company. They hate the American military.

Asked for a small donation disabled war veterans they said" they only donate to *** groups"

They stop all benefits, health and etc for any employee that is in the reserve or national guard that is called to duty.

As you know the French do not like Americans, but will take their money.

If you do not believe this, go to a target store and ask for a donation, or if you can collect money outside the store for some military organization.

When they say no, ask for the phone number or e-mail address of the main office. Call or e-mail and see what their response is.

I love how someone gets an email forwarded to them and immediately just accepts it as gospel. Do some research before you just swallow everything you read.

Saying Target is French is beyond ignorant. They are sometimes referred to ar "targee" (soft G) in order to sound like a fancy designer. Target used to be Dayton Hudson the last names ( I am pretty sure) of 2 entrepeneurs who formed the big chain many years ago. They are based out of America and in the heartland as a matter of fact in Minneapolis.

People who think they are French are ignorant

Target Fraudulent return prices

My daughter received a gift (dress) from Target and it was too big for her. We went to Target in Woodbury, MN to asked Customer Service if we could do an even exchange for a smaller size but the associate named Dan and his supervisor named Kristen said they were only going to give us the sale price for the dress even though the dress is not on sale. Basically, Target is automatically reducing the full price on your return item without a receipt making your store credit less than the item was purchase for by the gift giver. I understand they have a two times a year policy on items without a receipt but stealing from consumers this way is not right.

After this incident and many others where I have lost my receipt and tried to return the product, I will definitely try not to shop at Target and take my business elsewhere. That includes tell everyone I know (family, friends, and co-workers) not to buy things at Target.

When employees at retail stores scan an item for return without a receipt the sale price from the last 90 days automatically comes up. There is no way they can change it. Like the other commenter said, if it was that big of a problem couldn't you get the sales slip from the gift giver? Retail employees are underpaid and treated badly by corporate and customers who have unrealistic demands. Everyone should be required to work a year of retail of they want to shop, just so they know what we go through.

She clearly said the dress was NOT on sale when she took it back. They did cheat her. They cheat everybody. Don't try to not shop there, just don't. Don't go in. Go to Wal-Mart. They take everything back, AND they're more successful than target. Wal-Mart owns half the world now. Target sucks. You angry, warped Target employees should get your therapy elsewhere. Quit harassing hard working people who want to be treated fairly and respectfully.

This is the deal, without a receipt, the store doesn't know how much you paid for the item. You could've paid $5 for all they know. So, you get the last sale price or the last markdown on the item. If you get less than what you paid for, well, that'll teach you to save your damn receipt next time.
People would save themselves (and others) a lot of time and aggravation if they were smart enough and saved their receipts. I mean, it's YOUR purchase, YOUR merchandise, YOUR responsibility...

Now, how does Target know how much your "friend" paid for the item, without a proof of purchase, ie:gift receipt? Maybe your friend bought it on sale. (And, if the dress was too big, and you knew that you would need to exchange it, why didn't you ask the gift giver for a receipt so you could exchange it for the correct size?) They are not cheating you, it is everyone who has cheated them without receipts over the years, that they have to protect their company by only offering the lowest selling price within the last 90days for items with no proof of purchse. On another note, Target does offer receipt lookups, as a service, not a guarantee, for items purchased on credit, debit, giftcards and checks within the last 90 days. Anything could break, so hang on to all of your receipts, cause even manufacturer warranties require a proof of purchase.

Target terrible return policy

My son bought a portable baby swing at Target that didn't work. I said I would take it back for him since he was flying out of town the next day. When he bought it, he tore off the bottom of the receipt that had the gift receipt attached to it and threw it away at the store before leaving. About 36 hours later I brought the Original Receipt and the Defective Swing for a refund. They informed me the item had already been refunded the day before. They could not see the impossibility of that statement. Upon checking, the gift receipt from the garbage was used for the refund. They refused to do anything for me. Now I have a defective product that I can not even give to charity and they seem to have a employee scam going on, since the refund could not have involved the product since I still have the worthless product. I reported this scam to the corporate office and they said the money has been refunded and there is nothing they can do. How about honor their return policy and treat ME like the honest citizen instead of the criminal? I am going to make sure everyone knows what a risk they are taking when shopping at this store!

I made a purchase on Saturday evening and upon paying I asked the cashier if I payed by check what was the return policy, the cashier stated that I could return it as soon as that night and get a refund... I returned the next day, with merchandise still in sellable condition to get a refund and was denied! I spoke to the manager and explained to her when I asked the cashier for the check policy she said I could receive a refund as soon as that same night. She apologized for the cashier giving me the wrong information but then went a step further to tell me that I had to wait 15 days for the check to clear for a refund... 15 days, what kind of stuff is that I asked her. This is an in state check, why would it take that long? I asked her where was this policy written and how would I know this if the cashier wasn't even able to inform me of their policy-- as I looked on the fine print of the receipt and all around their return area ... nothing posted! HOW in the world can a company get away with such foolishness, this is just the craziest policy of disception on the consumer I have ever witnessed. I was given the 1800 number and given a case number and told to call back on Monday to speak to the specialist about my problem. I just can't/don't understand how a company of this size would do such shady business! They lost a customer for sure!

I agree that Target Stores have an "Target is Always Right" attitude! My first big encounter occurred this post-Christmas. I bought a Wii, Wii Fit, and extra nunchuks and controllers. They were to be Christmas gifts. These "hot selling" items were difficult to find and so when I saw one, I grabbed it! I made certain that Target would extend the 90 day return policy, because I was buying it more than 90 days before Christmas. It turns out that even though I had a gift receipt, because the receipt was older than 90 days, I could not return the extra nunchuk! I have to wait a year to return it! They are totally unreasonable. The package was still factory sealed. I had the receipt. It was not an item that could not be resold. They wouldn't even let me exchange it for anything. I will NEVER shop at Target stores again. That company needs to read: SATISFIED CUSTOMERS TELL THREE FRIEND, ANGRY CUSTOMERS TELL 3, 000! I am totally finished with Target

I'm stuck with a worthless Schwinn mountain bike that I bought at Target. Most of the spokes have broken on both the front and back wheel. They took my bike for 3 months and promised me a repair per the work order that they filled out and had me sign. I left the bike there all summer. 3 months later, they told me to pick up my bike. They didn't do any repairs. I wasted $90 on gas traveling back and forth meeting with the manager, bike associates and refund/exchange ###s. Every person I dealt with was incompetent. I called the guest relations dept. and I kept getting handed off to someone else until I had spoken with 4 different people. Their final answer "there's nothing we can do." They should change their name to "There's Nothing We Can Do." It fits well. I will never shop at Target again. Worst retail chain on the planet!

Target target brand sunscreen

I purchased the Target brand continious spray spf 30. The bottle states on the front that its "rub free" well its not! I applied this sunscreen 4 or 5 times on my first day at the beach. I'm burnt. My husband applied it also but out of habit rubbed it in on his chest until I told him he didn't have to. You can see exactly where he rubbed it in. This product didn't work as indicated and should be pulled from the shelve!

Target unacceptable return policy

My wife and received a Boppy seat from our baby gift registry. We assembled the product and found it was defective and then tried to exchange the seat. When we presented the seat to the employee and explained we had no receipt, we were told they would NOT exchange the seat, for the EXACT SAME product, without a receipt because the product was valued at over $20.00. The TARGET product was defective, a gift from a registry, and we wanted to exchange for the same thing. Too bad, so sad, it's a Target product but with no receipt they wouldn't exchange it, even when it's broken. Target's return policy is pathetic and is a real deterrent to customers.

Get this...I received multiple duplicate items from my friends and family because Target's registry was not working properly and was not taking items off the list. And yes, my friends and family did present the registry to the cashier the way they should have. Anyways, it turns out that I have extra gifts to give away at baby showers for the next few years because Target wouldn't take back any of the duplicates without a receipt. I actually stopped shopping often at Target because of this and switched to Walmart (even though I can't stand how disorganized they are). But hey, I can't shop comfortably somewhere where I might need to return an item and can't because I lost the receipt.

Target fraud and scam!

I'm going to say right away that I have never complained about a retailer before. I work for Walgreens and I know what it's like to be on the other end of retail. That said, I was still very upset with Target.

I've never had a problem with Target until I moved to Indianapolis about 6 months ago. The first minor problem was when the woman who waited on me in the dressing room was extremely rude. This happened numerous times with numerous different women. Then, I was shopping with my finance and he wanted to try something on, so I stayed halfway in the door way of the men's dressing room for him to show me his shirt. The lady very rudely told me that I could not be in the men's dressing room (which I wasn't) My finance even thought the lady was out of hand. After that, I made an large purchase (over $200 worth of stuff). $60 of that was used on a giftcard that we had received for Christmas. A couple of the items we purchased did not fit us properly so I decided to return them. The total of the return came to $80 and she told me she had to give $60 back on a giftcard and $20 back on my target credit card, which I use frequently. I was furious. I said 'Wait, I thought I spent way more than that. I'd like all of it to be put on my credit card. The total amount I spent was way more than $60. She said there was nothing she could do about it. So, there I was, with another $60 giftcard that I didn't need. I was fuming.

About 2 weeks later I received a 10% off card in the mail for being a Target visa cardholder. I decided to use both my giftcard and my 10% to buy groceries that we needed. (We never shop there for groceries because it's way overpriced but I thought it was worth it since I had the giftcard and 10% off) Of course when I get to checkout, the woman scanned my giftcard and the 10% off card and she said that the computer would not let me use both of them. I could only use one or the other. I was kind of ticked off by that but I decided to use my giftcard now and use my 10% card at a different time (it didn't expire for another 3 weeks)

At this point, I'm so fed up with Target that I don't want to shop there ever again but I decide to get groceries there because I still had my 10% off card. Of course, when I get to the checkout counter, the woman tells me that I already used the card and I could not use it again (It is only valid for one day of shopping) I was absolutely hot with anger. I told the woman the situation about how the other clerk had scanned it but it didn't actually go through. The woman said she could not do anything about it because I apparently already used it. Yet again, I was so upset. It only came down to saving about $6 but that's not the point. I feel like every time I go into that store I come out upset. It just really makes me mad because my finance and I registered at Target for our wedding and we are giving them lots of business that I don't care to give them at all. I'm extremely disappointed in Target.

Fiance-- stop spelling it as "finance'! The 10% card states that the purchase must be made with your Target credit card. That's a clue that you can't combine it with a gift card. The only valid part of your complaint is that last cashier would not try harder to help you get the 10% off when you went back with your 10% card.

Target Scam and fraud!

I went to the Target in Lufkin, Texas today to return a set of dishes that were broken in the box. A couple of coffee glasses had broken handles. Because they were a gift and we did not have the receipt, we were told they could not exchange them. The box clearly states Target on it! This is terrible. The manager told me I would have to buy some super glue! This is crazy!

Their policy clearly states that a receipt is required for all returns and exchanges. You should have gotten in contact with whoever gave you the gift; they have the receipt and could have gotten a gift receipt. It's really not Target's fault, I don't think.

Target false and deceptive labeling of bedding

Target is selling pillows with packaging that states "bamboo/cotton blend covered pillow 60% bamboo/40% cotton 300 thread count cover" The label on the actual pillow states 60% rayon 40% cotton 100% polyester. Target claims it is aware of this fact and that rayon is the same thing as bamboo and that rayon is processed from bamboo. This is false. The consumer is being decieved if he believes that this is a bamboo product. Rayon is not a fabric made from bamboo. Target is simply cheating the consumer by not stating the fact that this is a rayon/cotton blend. The package the pillow is in has very large letters BAMBOO. No company should be able to knowingly deceive the consumer. I did notify Target but they are relying on the false claim that the rayon pillow is a bamboo pillow.

I'm sorry, but I had to laugh when I read this complaint. Seriously, you'd like bamboo pillows? Instead of being processed to make soft fibers, also known as rayon. You'd just like unprocessed rayon? For those who don't know how rayon is made... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rayon#Production_method

Target Broken

I bought an inexpensive Trutech DVD player (T600-D) less than a year ago, and it will now only allow the DVD drive to go in
1/2 way, so I very angrily threw it in the trash. Obviously the inexpensive price was a reflection on the fact that it is a piece of junk.

I wish I could find a web site for them.

Target icici personal issue

I had taken loan from ICICI Bank last year. Nizam - [protected](sales guy) had come to my office to collect the documents. At that time I forced him to explain about how is the rate of interest calculated. He said he dosnt have any idea, he just looks into an excell sheet and tells the ROI to the customer. He gave me acknowledge form saying the ROI is 14%. Loan got approved, I got the money into my account(Deutsche Bank), everything went fine that time. I was in need to money that time so did'nt bother to corss verify anything. After 1year I wanted to change the ECS from Deutsche Bank to ICICI Bank, for which I went to ICICI Bank, MG Road, Bangalore(Near Bangalore Central). Just by chance I asked for my loan statement and for my surprise I came to know that I was paying 18% interest for my personal loan. Same office I met Reshma(080-[protected]) regarding ROI conflict issue. I gave her all the details about my loan. I showed her the acknowledgment paper given by Nizam, where it was mentioned 14% as ROI. I also showed her the load statement where it was mentioned 18%. She said wait for few days Nizam will call you. I waited but no call, then got a chance to speak to Nizam's Manager/Supervisor Suresh. Both Suresh and Nizam are in Cox Town, Bangalore office. He claims that its a mistake of the tele girl who has left the job and its 1year over we cant do anything. Am still waiting for my issue to be resolved but both Suresh and Nizam are not at all serious, as if its a joke for them. For these I guess such cases are common and they dont take anything serious or at least look into these issues as a highest priority.
I would suggest everybody for not taking a personal loan without verifying all the details...

Target registry

I was registered with Target Baby. We purchased a Diaper Champ from the local Target from our baby registry because we wanted the nursery finished. When we set it up (a few days later) we discovered the Diaper Champ was cracked. We could not find the receipt but the item was listed as purchased from our Baby Registry. My husband attempted to return the item for an exchange for a Diaper Champ that was not broken and was told he could not even though the item was clearly purchased from Target (from the registry) within the last 30 days. In addition, the guest services staff told hikm there was no manager to speak with to help him. We will never shop at Target again and I warn everyone to not register with a company that has such poor customer service.

Recently my wife and I opened a gift registry at Target. After our wedding we found that of the many items that were purchased at Target, there were 4 duplicates. This should not have been a problem as they were on our registry, and our customer support person who helped us set up the registry told us that no receipt would be needed for registry returns. Unfortunately this was not the case. When attempting to return the merchandise I was confronted with contempt by customer service clerks and treated like a criminal instead of an individual who had been shopping there for years.

Apparently there was a Policy change 12 days before the registry was opened. The Target representative who aided in the creation of registry specifically told us that any item on the registry could be returned for store credit. That saved us the tackiness of asking for a gift receipt. To say that I am appalled at Target's lack of concern over this issue is an understatement. Instead of addressing the problem, I was told the error was in my part. I'm sorry to say but my only mistake was trusting the Target representative. I'm now a former customer.

Target return rolicy!

As a long time fan of Target, I am absolutely disappointed about their new “return” policy. I couldn’t wait for the day to get married, and with regards to this letter, couldn’t wait to open a Target wedding registry of my own! Only to find out Target has become completely entrusting of their customers and treat us as if we’re thieves! We sent our wedding guests almost exclusively to our target registry, which malfunctioned, and now we have duplicate sets of gifts that we cannot return.

When we attempted to return them, and showed how the gift registry malfunctioned, they insisted that it was our guests’ responsibility to attach a gift receipt & accepted no fault. Of course, since our guests were purchasing from a wedding registry they trusted, none of the guests attached a receipt. Not to mention it looks pretty tacky to tape on a receipt to an expensive, nicely wrapped gift. So the manager suggested we go back to our guests and ask for a receipt so that we can return their gift. We felt that would be very rude to do to our guests, and just do not feel comfortable disappointing people like that, especially after they spent so much money on a gift they thought we would love. The manager also told us “that’s the point of a registry, to get what you want” – Of course! But that doesn’t mean we need two croquet sets, two coffee makers or two wine racks! We felt we were being very reasonable, we didn’t even want cash back; we would gladly accept store credit.

To top things off, I received a wok in the mail that became damaged during shipment. It came wrapped in target paper, included target shipping paperwork, and all we wanted was to exchange it for a non-damaged wok or receive store credit. They still proceeded to tell us that we needed a gift receipt, and refused to return it for us until we talked to upper management. The whole process took over 30 minutes!

We have received over $1000 in gifts from our Target registry, and if we would have known about this absurd return policy, we would have stayed with Bed Bath & Beyond and Macy’s, both of which have no problem with satisfying their registry customers. I do wedding photography for a living and talk with brides on a daily basis, I’m warning everyone to stay clear of Target’s wedding registry. I hope Target realizes quick what they are doing to some of their biggest fans.

Their return policy does suck and they should at least try to rectify some valid situations but the sad thing is they do not care about their loss of customers. Because they are such a big company. A few losses will not affect them but eventually their lack of concern will backfire just like kmart and they will be begging for customers.

Target out of stock!

We placed an order on Target.com only to find out later that when we placed the order the items 7 of the 9 were on back order. The estimated deliver date was changed as soon as I submitted my order and has been changed three times since. When you call Target.com; they claim that there is no way to lodge a complaint which.

Target Work harrassment and descrimination

T1865 location: fun fast & friendly? #
You're crosstraining all members — false only blacks puerto ricans cubans and the favorites of lod or gstl.

Stealing — hba team members on the floor open hba items and take them personally and the bring the empty package to guest svc as pilfridge?
Fun fast & friendly?

Overtime — only to reshop team members
Scheduling — hr mgr takes hours away fm team members of guest services — what happened to seniority? — Also your hr mgr scheduling changes without telling team members then they call your home when you did not even know you were on schedule!

Lockers opened w/out permission!
Walkie abuse — name calling and other bs
Red cards — abusive team members even write themselves cards just for the heck of going on line and purchasing free merchandise.

Papercutters and discriminating items like cards
Gift cards toilet papers inside drawers at guest service all from team member/or members that do not want you in that position.

What happened to fun fast and friendly and not harrassment or descrimination?
Was there from beginning of opening the store 4 years in june 2008 but 've seen this location go down to the pits!

Target questionable policy

I will preface this by saying I have never had a problem at Target before, however, this one takes the cake. On Jan. 14 we purchased a comforter set at full price. 2 or 3 days later the item goes to clearance. Today I go into the store with my receipt and am told they won't give me an overcharge because the item is clearance and not a sale item. The clerk told me if I brought the item back to the store in the packaging she could do a refund and I could buy it back at the clearance price. (This wouldn't be necessary if the item were just on sale.) I have been a good customer of this store spending approximately $400.00 to $500.00 there each week between groceries and other items. However, after having to be recited a policy by no less than three levels of employees...who had no care in the world other than to recite a questionable policy, I walked out. No wonder same store sales are off...

If you would have read the return policy on your receipt, you wouldn't have had to go through all that stress.

There is a difference between a sale price and a clearance price. If it's just on sale, it'll go back up once the promotion is over.
If it's on clearance, they're trying to liquidate the remaining stock.
Sooner or later everything goes on clearance and I don't know of any stores that price match or adjust for clearance items. It was just bad timing that you bought this item when you did.
You obviously thought this product was worth the money you paid for it, so be happy and move on.

Target Broken at 7 months!

What a joke - Had trouble from the day I brought it home... Tried to return it at 4 months but Target said I had to deal direct with Trutech... they would not return it and replace it with another unit. The DVD's would skip and the open/close door sometimes would not open... until one day the door could not be re-opened... I am planning on avoiding target shopping at all costs... and telling as many people as I can about this poor product and experience with Target.

I have the same complaint as everybody else. I bought this Trutech T600-D DVD player at Target for about $30. I didn't open it and use it for a while. Finally I did open it and hook it up. I put a DVD in it and it worked fine that one time. The second time I went to put a DVD in (same DVD), the door wouldn't open. I tried everything, thought I was doing something wrong, read instructions over and over, etc. So today I tried to return it to Target and I was told that their return policy on electronics products is 30 days and on other things 90 days. They said to call the company itself. Now I read all this and see that Target owns that company. I think the person was right who said the thing was broken before I bought it. They would probably get more returns within 30 days if it didn't work the first time a person used it. But it seems like more often than anything else, it refuses to work the second time a person uses it. So you're taken off guard, and the 30 days go by while you're sitting there not using it and not thinking you have a problem. Target's policy is hostile to the consumer, so I won't buy there again.

These have a problem with laser aging. Or either the laser becomes oxidized and the pickup focus needs to be re-adjusted. This will require some disassembly of the optical pickup. On the underside of it are two small adjustments. One is for DVD and the other is CD. You want to make a small adjustment to the DVD one. Then reassemble and see how it performs. Repeat until satisfied with playback. Make a mental not how much you turned it each time. Good luck!

I was watching my dads porno movie on his Trutech T-600D dvd player. When I heard him come home from work I tried to quickly eject his movie and put it back in his hiding place before he came upstairs. Unfortunately for me the damn eject button did not work and was unable to get the movie out. Later that night my dad told us that he rented a movie from Blockbuster and we were going to have family movie night. Later on that night when he went to put the movie in, he was unable to get the tray to eject. As he push play on the dvd player the porno movie came on and my dad knew that I was snooping through his collection! Do not buy this product, especially if you plan on going through your dad's stash of porno movies when he's at work. Guarranteed you'll get busted like me...what a piece of junk!

My T600-D TruTech DVD player is broken too. The DVD tray won't open. I had to unscrew all of the screws and take the player apart to get the DVD out. I often leave the DVD player on overnight. I wonder if something inside got too hot and caused a component to fail.

Does anyone know of a website that trouble shoots this DVD player?

I bought one of these at Target in June of 2006. It stopped working tonight, 4-1-08. It almost lasted 2 years. I paid about $30.00 for it so i can`t really complain i guess. It worked pretty well at first, then it started making loud clicking noises every time i would open the tray. A couple of times it just plain shut off in the middle of a movie. I will not buy another Trutech product.

I bought a Cyber Home DVD player for the same price at Wal-Mart 4 years ago and it works great with no problems at all.

I purchased this DVD player for my 19 month olds room for Christmas. It worked fine for about 2 weeks then it started skipping and stopping in the middle of movies. The door would work sometimes and then would not until finally it wouldn't open at all. Now in order to get the dvd out we would have to break something. I took it back to Target after having it for 3 months. Of course they would not do anything about it but did give me the number to the company (which Target owns) to deal with the problem. This product stinks and possibly dangerous. It gets very hot if left on for a little while.

I got this DVD player for at least 3 years, I kept it into my van and hooked it up to my roof mounted t.v. It's playing fine so far. Doesn't seems it's got any problem yet. Maybe I am one of the luck one out of all of you. I don't know what type of disc do you guys play, but most of my movies I played are DVD-r and CD-r. I have not try to play any original DVD or CD movies since I bought this DVD player.

Target wedding registry!

Be careful if you create a registry with Target. We received gifts from Target.com that did not come with receipts or even a packing slip for 2 of the gifts. It was such a hassle, but luckily the Target employees in Palmdale CA were so hopeful. They had to call 800 numbers and wait for at least 20 minutes multiple times, and they had a hard time getting anyone at Target.com to help with the returns.

I tried to return a gift the turned out to be broken after we had thrown everything away-including the gift receipt (I did not think I needed it). I was not allowed to exchange the item because it was over $20.00 and I did not have a receipt, even though you could see it was purchased from my registry. I understand that Target gets taken advantage from with returns, but when something is purchased off a registry that should not be a problem.

I purchased a Nintendo Wii ($200) on the Target Wedding Registry. The couple was sent a toddler's toy barn (valued at about $15-$20) instead of the Wii, but the invoice still said Nintendo Wii and I had paid for the Nintendo Wii. The bride & groom did not open their wedding gifts until the night of the wedding and so they were unaware that Target sent the wrong item until then. Target refuses to take back the item and provide the correct item because it was paid for over 90 days ago, even though it was still in the box and still with the Nintendo Wii receipt. I just paid $200 for this little kids toy. This is a case of fraud. I since have spoken with several other people and have found out that this wedding registry scam by Target has happened to several people.

YES BRIDES AND PARENTS TO BE BEWARE OF TARGET GIFT REGISTRY. NOTHING BUT A SCAM AND THEY STEAL MONEY FROM YOUR RELATIVES AND FAMILY.

WE REGISTERED FOR OUR WEDDING 5 YEARS AGO WITH NO PROBLEMS. WHEN WE RETURNED ITEMS THEY SIMPLY LOOKED AT OUR PURCHASE LOG.

NOW THAT WE ARE EXPECTING OUR FIRST CHILD WE REGISTERED THERE AGAIN WITH NOTHING BUT NIGHTMARES. SOME DUPLICATES WERE PURCHASED ON OUR REGISTRY AND A COUPLE OF THINGS WE DECIDED WE DIDN'T NEED. WHEN WE WENT TO EXCHANGE THE ITEMS FOR SOMETHING ELSE THAT WASN'T PURCHASED OFF OUR REGISTRY THEY TREATED US LIKE CRIMINALS BECAUSE THE GIFTS WERE GIVEN WITH OUT GIFT RECEIPTS. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE HAVE GIFT REGISTRIES. SO THE STORE CAN TRACK THE PURCHASE AND YOU CAN EXCHANGE THINGS.
TARGET IS RUNNING A FRAUD ON THEIR REGISTRIES BEWARE.

NOW I HAVE OVER 500$ OF MERCHANDISE I WILL NOT USE. I WAS TOLD TO TRY A COUPLE OF OTHER RETAILERS WHO HAVE LESS RESTRICTIVE RETURN POLICIES BUT THE SAME MERCHANDISE.

THIS IS FRAUD TO TAKE SOMETHING BACK TO A STORE WHERE IT WASN'T PURCHASED. I ASKED WHEN WE REGISTERED WHAT THE RETURN POLICY WAS AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NO PROBLEM TO RETURN ITEMS PURCHASED ON THE REGISTRY WITH OUT A RECEIPT.

Target out-of-stock product!

When I ordered the Zune 2nd Generation on November 7, 2007, I was unaware that the product was currently out of stock. In order for my son to receive this product by Christmas, it should have been shipped out by the 13th. He will be receiving no Christmas present because of Target. He currently is serving our country in Iraq, and Target could not deliver him his Christmas present like they originally promised. I have talked to customer service and a manager and they now state he will not receive it until Febuary. This is unacceptable. A soldier serving our country, in risk of his life, should not be sitting on Christmas with no present. If I would have known it was out of stock when I ordered, I wouldn't have ordered through Target. What ever happen to customer service? What ever happen to giving back to our soldiers who are fighting for our country...

Target refused return from baby registry without receipt!

I registered at Target for my baby shower, I received several items from friends and family out of town. They sent the items with a packing label that itemizes things and even includes a note from the sender, but no gift receipt. Since I had received several duplicates, I tried to return, but they would not accept the packing label as a receipt and said that my only option was to call the sender and ask them to go to the store and get a receipt and send it to me.

This is totally unacceptable! why should I register with Target if this is how they treat me, I can prove the item was purchased there, but still I can not exchange it, I'm not even asking for cash. In addition to this totally ridiculous situation, of the items they did return because I printed out my list of purchased items, they gave me a return for $24 on an item that states the purchaser paid $79. I had to complain and go up through management before they would credit me back the right amount.

I regularly shop at target, but plan to find someplace new to spend my hard earned money. I will suggest to every new mother not to register there as well.

If they will not return on-line orders that were sent by there company without a gift receipt, then gift receipts should go out automatically! They are penalizing us poor mothers whose friends are only trying to help.

Shame on Target.

This exact same thing happened to me. I registered at target for my baby shower and when friends and family pulled my registry, there seemed to be too many unbought items, even the few days before the shower. As it turns out, the gift registry had never updated correctly so I received 2 monitors, 4 play gyms, 3 first aid kits, 2 Diaper Genies, 2 travel systems (more on that below), as well as many smaller duplicate items. I did receive some gift receipts, and about half of them had a description of the item purchased. The other half had only a bar code and several multi-digit codes on them.

I myself had purchased one of the travel systems due to my husband's fear that our baby would come early and we wouldn't have a car seat. I had checked the registry the day it was purchased, watched the cashier scan my registry to have the item removed when I purchased it, then received the same travel system a few weeks later at my shower. The purchaser said that the system had been purchased the day before and the registry showed that it hadn't been purchased while she was in the store. I had removed the system myself from the registry at the time of purchase, so I knew something was wrong. When we tried to return all of our duplicates, we were not-so-nicely informed that not only did we need receipts for everything we returned (even if it was on the registry) but that we should contact those people that did not give us gift receipts and ask them to mail me the receipt. I explained how the registry did not update and was rudely told that my friends and family must not have mentioned my registry (all 20 of them who purchased duplicate items) to which I replied that I myself had experienced the registry not updating as it should have, in return getting a "not our problem" response from Target.

The gift receipts were another issue in that the ones that had no description of the item the receipt was for were completely useless unless we wanted to stand at teh customer service desk and watch the employee scan the receipt then scan every item seperately until he'she found the item that corresponded with the receipt. Basically, the series of numbers and the barcode means nothing in the gift receipt, because they supposedly can't look up what the receipt is for. The manager told us that when my friends and family had purchased the items off of my registry, the had to SPECIFY whether or not they wanted the item name on the gift receipt. SERIOUSLY?!?!?! Who would know about THAT policy? Are their cashiers trained to ask people if they want the gift item to appear on the receipt? If not, then they should be.

When we made our returns and tried to argue the point of the items being on the registry, we were told that the return policy changed as of August 28, 2007 and unless we created our registry before then, they would not use the registry to return anything. My husband asked the manager if she could look up the date that our registry was created and when she replied that there was no way to look up that information, he sakd "Fine. Then we created our registry on August 27th." Needless to say, she was none to thrilled to be proven wrong and have her smartass attitude backfire on her.
