TruGreen harassing phone calls

This company has been calling my home for about 2 weeks or more now and last night they called at 9:00pm to try and sell me something. I had asked them not to call this number anymore I'm not interested and hung up. They called back 2 minutes later and hung up. Now tonight about 8:45pm they called my house 4 times within a matter of 5 minutes. I answered and I could here several men in the back ground talking. I asked them if they were trying to prove something and I heard more talking and they hung up. Each time I answered the phone they didn't say anything and just hung up on me. I would really like these people to stop calling my home and harassing me just because I asked them not to call here anymore.

We terminated services from "True Green" several weeks ago for inadequate services. They have sent several letters and now are making harassing phone calls in the late evening.

This company is so annoying, they call me every night from different phone numbers. I have asked so many times to be removed from their list and they keep calling non stop, they call all hours of the day and night even though my number is listed on the do not call list. Something should be done about this companies annoying phone calls.

TruGreen weeds

I've been with Trugreen for almost a year, i was just trying to get rid of the weeds, but they didn't do it right when they promised me last year and still want to collect money $55 for every 6 weeks. Thumbs down for Trugreen.

I called April 27 for My first call on weeds. I have called 4 times since. 2 weeks ago a tech. came out and said my weeds would all be gone in 2 weeks. Today I have cute yellow dandelions standing up in my yard. From my kitchen window I can see
50 light green weeds. I am a good customer for several years, Ipay my bill on time. and ahead of time. I will not put up with this. If you don't get rid of these weeds I will be forced to find someone who can next year.
I used to have the best yard in the neighborhood.

TruGreen horrible company

Trugreen is a horrible thieving company with dishonest workers. If you value your sanity and your hard earned money, stay away from this company. They have an enticing marketing strategy but it is all lies. You get no personal care and your prpoerty ends up looking like crap. Then the technicians bill you for work they do not actually do knowing that you are not at home to see them.

TruGreen stop to send me a collection letter

Truegreen sent me a letter by a collection agency. I am disputing this debt. How can I owe something for them if I just bought one time from trugreen for 1 year treatment and I paid them in advance? This is the best proof that I don't owe anything for them. If they are sure that I am in debt, they have to provide me a copy of the agreement signed by me with the commitment with them to provide the service that they are assuming is in debt. They are very disorganized. They charged my credit card more than the amount that they offered to pay in advance and I had to spend a lot of time to call them many, many times to solve the problem and get my refund.
Trugreen is horrible.

They have done something similar to me in Aurora CO, I hired for 3 lawn care applications for 2011. Which I paid for it. Then without my permission they did the lawn service for 2012. By that time I have already hired Scotts lawn care. They kept on calling me, I asked for any proof or contract that I signed for 2012?. They gave weird answer, If you don't call us and notify, the plan for 2011 is rolled over to 2012.
They also sent a collection letter.

TruGreen - Do business with integrity and win customers, Not by cheating. You won't hold on that money for long time.

True green did us the same way and then a few days later a new guy from true green wanting a new bussiness asked if he could evaluate our lawn and he kept saying we can gt rid of all these weeds and blah blah blah and I said we used u guys before and he says I know it had to have been another company and I brought out the 1 yr contract that had expired a week earlier and he just shut up it all a crock and a scam I could not believe the guy but he walked right into the mess but I did not mention the yr I had been with them until he showed his ignorance. We were riped off as well. U are better off by using weed and feed in the spring and its much beter than NOT SO TRUE GREEN.

TruGreen unsatisfactory service

I called TruGreen in March 2011 (Hagerstown MD office) to request an organic treatment plan. I am in the Chesapeake Bay drainage zone and it is requested that chemicals not be used on our lawns. I also have children that play outside daily. I paid well over $300 for the program. The first treatment was on March 21st and they put down herbicides(non-organic) that I didn't request. I canceled the treatment that day in fear that they would come out again and put down non-organic chemicals. Well, despite canceling the program and getting refunded, they came out again on June 6th and put down more non-organic chemicals. I called again but they told me that they couldn't cancel it until the clinician reported what chemicals he used as by law that has to be recorded. I asked that he call me the next day to let me know it was canceled. I took his name and phone number, J. Atwater, just in case. Well, he never called me so I called the number three days later and it was a discontinued # (go figure). In the meantime, I noticed that parts of my grass are now brown (that were not brown prior to June 6th). When I called the main office in Hagerstown, they told me Joe was on another line. I said I would hold. Then some woman came on. She said the account was canceled but when I explained that I now have dead grass she could offer no explanation but offered to have a clinician come out and look at it- OMG No!

TruGreen lack of professionalism/customer service

A bit of background information: I have been a TruGreen client since the summer of 2008; I live in rural Champaign County and have a little over one acre of property that needs to be maintained. The services that I've contracted for in the past are for weed control and fertilization with anywhere from 4-6 applications per season. Each application runs $120.00.
I have been trying, unsuccessfully, for the past two months to obtain a pre-note card to get some idea when my 2011 applications will take place. This is a post card that has the number of applications and the approximate dates that the lawn will be serviced. I have received them in the past. On April 11th, I spoke with Courtney who confirmed that I have 4 applications this year and would mail me a pre-note card. On May 9th, will still no pre-note card nor lawn care application received, I called and spoke with Leslie who told me that she would put me back on the pre-note system and schedule an application ASAP with Chris (the man who does the scheduling). On May 13th, speaking with customer service representative Kathy, I inquired as to why my neighbor received an application that day and I didn't. I live out in the country and couldn't fathom why a service truck would travel all the way out for only one application. Kathy assured me that she would schedule an application for me ASAP (yes, again with Chris). On June 6th at 9am I called and spoke with Courtney again who told me that the pre-note system was discontinued 3-weeks ago and pre-calls to customers were taking their place. She agreed that 'yes, I should have had at least one application by now' and would hand deliver to Chris (yes, again with Chris) my information and request for an application. I also requested that Chris call me so I could speak with him about this issue. Needless to say it's been 31 hours, give or take, and I still haven't heard from Chris (the supposed scheduler). Nor have I receieved a response to my e-mail to TruGreen corporate.

I am a Landscape Architect and Tru Green was on a customers premises performing aeration which I specified in Illinois.
Their machine damaged the deck stairway when the operator lost control on an incline. This is a million dollar property
where I manage the exterior. I had to coordinate the repair of the handrail and replace the stair treads and subframing structure at my expense and coordinate the contractors, source the wood, paintwork and hardware. Tru Green refused to reimburse me for my time
and only paid for the materials and the contractor. They witheld payment until I adjusted my invoice for the two hours of
billable time I incurred. The local Champaign office would not respond to my requests or follow up on the reimbursement. Upon further inspection there were large areas of my customers lawn that was missed during aeration. I refuse to work with them again. This is a very unprofessional operation and their parent company Servicemaster bought into a real loser. Buyer beware.

TruGreen buyer beware

My parents have used Trugreen for the past three years and since using their service had brown spots and was sold reseeding, aerating (which really made the lawn rough) and different chemical treatments. Each time promising this would correct the problem. I tried talking them out of using Trugreen last year but my parents were told Trugreen would be able to correct. Again this Spring they were pressured to renew but finally realized Trugreen was not helping their lawn. I ran a soil analysis from the local Feed Store on the lawn to find out it was deficient in lime and needs 3, 770 lbs to correct an 10, 000 sq. ft. lawn. The ph is at 5 which is very acidic. We were told he was surprised the lawn would even grow as the ph should be at 7. This was caused by too much Nitrogen. Why didn't Trugreen figure that out. It is going to cost over $500 in lime alone to correct and that is with me doing all the work. And since putting this much lime on would kill the lawn if all put on at once, will have to be divided by 1/3 this Spring, next Fall and the following Spring. Plus all the dead spots which is about 1/3 of the lawn need reseeding. If you use the service, insist on them taking a soil test to truly know what should be put on.

I used TruGreen/Chemlawn for three years (my bad) to provide monthly insect prevention and fertilizing services to my centipede lawn. The first year they did a fine job, but their work and diminished after 2017. The technician, on several occasions, was stopped by ME prior to application of LIME. You don't put LIME on centipede. The fertilizer was overdone to the point that the grass died in a large patch right at the street. Customer Service was contacted about this, and responded immediately with several patches of centipede turf - but the soil itself was tainted badly. It took three years for the damage to naturally recover. Consistent hi-dose applications of fertilizers is also bad for this type of dichondra grass. Via telephone solicitors, they offered and planned aeration treatments at the wrong time of year for centipede. When I pointed out this issue to the telephone representative - I got a profound, ignorant silence at the other end. BE WARNED - if you have centipede or any other "out of the ordinary" turf/sod - be very sure that your technician is monitored and is knowledgeable enough to service your lawn. You could (as I did) wind up re-sodding after complete destruction by well intended but undertrained technicians. I followed their watering and maintenance suggestions (regular watering and keep the lawnmower blade high) yet their consistent application of too much fertilizer eventually destroyed my entire centipede lawn. I terminated the contract in 2017.Since termination, I have re-sodded my centipede lawn and will, from now on, maintain it myself.

"...aerating which really made the lawn rough..." LOL...yeah, aerating will do that but it's only temporary as the
"core" plugs need TIME to break down which eventually will benefit your lawn in more ways then one...

TruGreen poor performance

Canceled all services after 8 months. My lawn showed no noticeable improvement, bottom line. My neighbor hired Scotts two months ago and the difference between our two lawns was the deciding factor. In addition, I now find shrub in my front yard infested with Japanese beetles and their grub worms under my front yard grass. All while Trugreen has been applying "pesticides" and "insecticides". I've complained several times during the 8 months both to the Trugreen Corporate site and on the phone locally. Nothing was ever addressed but I thought I'd give their treatments a fair chance. I called them initially because I used them several years ago at my other home in GA where the results were dramatic. Something clearly has happened to quality control in this company. Even after I canceled, I have yet to receive any contact to find out why I canceled or to attempt to rectify the situation. This is customer service at its worst.

Going through the same pain with TruGreen in South Florida. Based on poor performance I have been trying to suspend service since Oct 2010. Brad Balsama, a so called corporate customer service got me on the hook by apologizing on behalf of the company. He claimed to be the 1 stop solution, as a gesture he offered a free service. The service took place, but got charged $55. From that point on, three $55 services have occured and one unauthorized $128 aeration service which they dont do. Branch had not responded to any of my claims from Oct 2010 to Dec 2010. I had to file corporate complaint 3 times before Brad called me. Seems TruGree has a no call back policy I saw referenced in 1 of the e-mail comunications. I the meanwhile, my grass looked better before I started with TG. My intentions were to bring my grass to another level but up, not down. Seems like TG feeds the weed or worst plants the seeds. My neighbors lawn look better then mine and I am a yard warrior. I am claiming credits, no luck. The talk very professionaly over the phone but they dont deliver what they promise. They need to walk the talk. I will go back to my Scott turf fertilizer which worked by far better. TruGreen is a joke. I have talked to over 10 customer representatives including the branch and corporate, no one seems to care.

WE LOVE TRUGREEN! We have TruGreen and absolutely love them! Our neighbors all have them as well and they do a wonderful job! All of our years are perfect and look so good! This is simply not true. When they call to verify your program, INSIST that you want to be billed. They will try to tell you that you have to do one of the other two options, just keep telling them you want to be billed.

This is what I did, and I receive a bill after every treatment.

We declined TruGreen's services just based on their new payment rules. They insist on having your credit card or checking acct numbers so that they can automatically deduct their fees. They used to be willing to leave the invoice and then you could mail a check in. No more!

TruGreen lawncare

My husband is deployed from Fort Hood so we decided to sign up for the Deployed Service Member program that Trugreen was offering Fort Hood families. They started mowing at the start of April, and my backyard has only been mowed once--today is the 5th of May. They have used the excuse that they can't open my gate to get into the yard. Are you kidding me? If you can't open a gate then how can you push a lawn mower? Today two of their employees were in my backyard, finally after 3 weeks, using weed whackers to cut my grass instead of a mower. They chopped 1/4th of the yard and then just left. They have also burned sections of my side yard, put huge holes in my front yard, they dont weed whack along the fence line, and have left debris all over my sidewalk, driveway, and walkway to the house. And when I have called to complain I am told that they take care of the yard as the see fit. And when I ask if they can come back and mow my backyard I am told I will just have to wait until next week b/c they wont return to an area after they have finished, even when they are all sitting in their truck that is parked in front of my house for an hour and a half. I understand it is a free service to me as my husband is deployed, but still. I feel that if you volunteer a service then you should provide that service. Trugreen is a horrible company, and their customer service is even worse.

By the way it is not volunteer service. TruGreen has a contract with Fort Hood Housing. The Housing is the one paying for the free mow service we get and they generate it from the housing allowance that soldiers get when they choose to live on post.

I never had any problems on our free lawn mow. I actually do appreciate the fact that the housing office offers free lawn mow even if your husband is on unaccompanied pcs order to South Korea as long as you have an approved retention memo, signed by the soldier's losing command CMDR. and the Fort Hood Housing. If you called them for a complaint and didn't worked that way, you might want to come down at your designated housing administrative office and file a formal complaint with TruGreen. Also, get a copy from the housing that you're on the list of deployed soldiers who is receiving a free lawn mow and bring it with you to TruGreen's office and directly ask if you can speak to the person in-charge. Be rational and stay calm as it wont do anything good if you will all up to their faces screaming about their poor mowing service. Usually, you got to personally speaks to the right people to get your concern fix because sometimes people who are in-charge aren't aware of the situation. I sympathized on you and your disappointments with TruGreen.

I had the same experience. I saw the ChemLawn serviceman drive up to my house, knock twice and leave a bill on my door. When I called to complain the service representative told me (and I quote) "Sir, you are lying.". I was floored. I couldn't believe their response. I didn't know what to say other than close my account. I don't think I've ever been treated like that before.

TruGreen lawn fertilizer

I tried Truegreen last year. In contrast to the complaints listed here the person doing the service was competent, courteous and listened to me when I had a concern. When the crabgrass emerged (after I had treated it) Truegreen came back with a spray to kill it. They kept their part of the bargain. The lawn looks better this year and although they dropped off salt for the front steps and sent me mail offering incentives for prepay they have not called me. Last year they closed their local sales/service office and it was a pain to get them, but once I got through and let them know that I wouldn't put up with delay they responded and my tech came right away. they apologized for the glitch caused by understaffing at the local office. I am about to call them to have the lawn tested and to get a decent price. If they are not competitive then I will do the care myself or go to another firm. I trust that it is in their interest to keep their customers happy because they are selling service as well as fertilizer.

Ready for this one! TrueGreen came to my home without my permission and completed an areation and reseeding of my whole property! They not only charged mt account and am still waiting for a refund going on two weeks now they also destroyed my electric dog fence! I am seriously deciding on sueing and pressing charges for destruction of property, tresspassing and theft (charging my account). I have since terminated my relationship with them and am on a mission to bring others along!

I helped these people out last year when they called and told me they really needed the work so I agreed to 2 sessions. I just got a bill in the mail for service that I never even ordered ! When I called they told me that I had to cancel before the service or they just assume from last year that I want it...what?...WTF?...I told them that they had NO signed contract and did not get a full year service, how can they assume this? The operator told me that was the way it was. When I asked to speak to his boss to resolve this I was told she was in a meeting and he would have her call me. I'm still waiting...I'm not paying and I'll call every government agency, etc. and tell them why, this is nothing more than a scam !

TruGreen destroyed my lawn

Trugreen should be renamed trubrown because that's what happened to my lawn after they treated it. I paid trugreen to maintain my lawn not destroy it like they did. after the last treatment I started getting"large" areas of brown (dead) grass which was continuing to spread. trugreen sent a supervisior down and he checked the sprinkler and said the coverage was fine and I didn't have cinch bugs. he couldn't give my a straight answer as to what caused it. I was pissed because I pay them to maintain my lawn. he sent someone down to respray and that was a waste! I wound up paying a landscaper $2, 000 to install a new lawn and oh course trugreen said it was there fault. well who's fault is it? I got options from two other reputable companies and they both said it was caused by trugreens chemicals. don't be a victim! do not hire trugreen!

TruGreen bad product and service

Last season, 2010, Trugreen made my lawn look horrible. Their promise to rid my lawn of crabgrass, and their 'fibs' about what they were putting on my yard- ridiculous!
I requested a manager to call me at least 4 times, to no avail. They showed up this season while I was not home and started their process. I immediately called and the 'expert' was trying to get me to continue and was not addressing my concerns. He finally asked what he could do to make it up to me...I said stop my service and waive the bill for the unauthorized treatment. His only comment was that if I was cancelling wht y woulsd he make it up to me. I guess to trugreen we are only treated well if we are customers. I got mad and cussed at him, (my bad). I am contacting the Better Business Bureau.

Totally screwed me too. I asked for an area to be re-seeded and quickly, ...as I was putting my house up for sale. After a week they, I got home from work to find that they sprayed the entire property and put fertilzer down, ...no seed. Once I finally contacted soembody they said that they might be able to make an exception and get out to my place maybe in a week or so, ...what? There should be grass starting to show by now, ...this company sucks, ... totally screwed me. Should have done what I always do and DO IT MYSELF. I will never use them again!

TruGreen over charged

Don't believe them, after charging my account (debit card) for a whole year of service they advised they would repay my account and cover all over charges they had caused. Next day when I called this was not so... The workers that came were extremely professional and curtious, the salesman in Florida "Tom" was nice along with the clerical but thats it...

TruGreen tree and shrub service

hired tru green to spray tree and shrub they have killed every shrub on my place. of course it is never their fault. the roots are not right the plant doesnt' do well in this area mind you the plants have been planted for 5 years the latest garbage i got was every plant has a life span apparently in this area it is 4 to 5 years. i took this plant to the nursery and they stated it was aphids that killed the plant. they said he wasn't qualified to judge that. i guess all the nursery people will be glad to hear tru green has the only people qualified to guage a plant. these people are thieves in my book please don;t be hoodwinked by these folks locally or corporate office. consumer affairs should say enough is enough and pull these people licenses. how rediculous are these people. their lawn service isn't top notch either they can't handle nut grass homeowner has to handle that weed boycott this company oh thats right they just change their name and keep right on trucking they used to be chemlawn in the 70s werent any good then either attached is a picture of what i think they should be able to handle when this occurred on my plants and killed 2 of them looks like brown spot to me

TruGreen beware of cancellation

I'm so disappoited with the way TruGreen service. Last year 2010, I had TruGreen do service for my Lawn for the whole year. At the end of the year I did talk to the customer service to cancel my service. The guy said ok. Than he handed the phone off. I thought it's all done.

This year, Feb, 2011 the service man came and knock the door to do the lawn service. I told them, I did cancel already. So, they pack it up and left without do anything.

About couple day after, I recieved a bill to charge for service, which is already cancelled.

I call in to tell them it was a mistake. You guys need to take it off the bill. The guy told me, my supervisor will call you. I wait for the next three day, no body call. I call in again. This time I talk to a lady name's Molisa. She told me, I will send the message to the technician, whom came to do your service. It's ok. I wait for two more days. Than nobody call me again. I call in again. This time I talk to the guy. I told him, I need to take care of this today, because, this is the mistake and I don't want to have any problem later on. He told me, if you don't want problem, go ahead send the bill in. I asked hime - what?. Than he told me, I will call you back. The next two days, never had any call. I call back back again, talked to Molisa. The lady I had been talked befor. She said, Oh... nobody call you yet. Let I send him a message again. I ask them - can I talk to the supervisor. They don't let me talk to the supervisor.

I still don't understand, now aday, people still running this kind of business around. I don't think they will last long to do what they are doing.

Hopefully no body else have this kind of crab in your life.

TruGreen bad management

Bad management/bad customer service due to rescheduling

We asked that the trugreen notify us when the service is being done so that we can be home when the service is being provided. You never know if these people are actually doing what they’re supposed to be doing…wouldn’t be the first time.

Anyhow, whenever I reschedule I specifically have the customer service repeat the date 2-3 times to make sure we’re on the same page. Now, when we do get screwed I personally talk to shilo. Now, shilo the manager at 2421 black gold ct houston, tx keeps on apologizing and tells me that this will never happen again. But guess what... It keeps on happening... Not once not twice not three but 6 times. I can't even keep up anymore.

Originally our appointment was for feb 4th but I called to reschedule for the 10th instead. So, today is the day they were supposed to come out and do the treatment. So, i’m sitting here waiting and waiting and it’s past 1:00 and still nothing.

I called the company and spoke to the customer service. She said that “they rescheduled me for the 18th.” I said “that’s not possible.” then she said “originally you were scheduled for the 10th but you wanted to reschedule for the 18th.” I confirmed to her that it was not the case because the woman I spoke to when I rescheduled repeated the date multiple times.” I told her that “I didn’t want to deal with shilo anymore because he’s useless to me. You better have somebody come out here. I don’t care if he has to go back there to refill his truck.” the woman called me back and said that she’s having someone come out here but it’ll be awhile…I don’t care.

How can this shilo be a manager if he can't even get his # together? I know that the economy being down right now doesn't help. Is the company just desperate? Why do customers have to suffer this kind service? We pay our bills on time... I just don't get it.
