Trivago amoma travel site is a scam

I connected to the Trivago site looking for a good deal on a hotel room in Isla Mujeres (Mexico) for a week. I used the Trivago site for the first and last time. Why does Trivago allow scams like Amoma and BookIt to run as a honest business. I will spread, electronically, the word that Trivago is a scam and everybody is to avoid it. You won't be in business long Trivago ... adios.

Trivago hotel vacation package

I booked a hotel package through trivago that boasted resort proces at corporate rates. I talked to Mark Kelly aboit the deal. It was offered at the price of $129 per person. When I talked to Mark he said since it was my first time with trivago he'd add in an ocean front room. After talkng with him, he mentioned not wanting customers to pay more than $99 in gratuity.. Then added in am extra fee which I was informed were taxes booking fees and basically what I thought were all the additional fees bringing me to $385. On the recorded conversation confirming my payment I was told that there would be a 90 min. Presentation from the resort and fees and gratuity not exceeding 99 per person. I asked about calling back because i didnt think my partner would do the 90 min Presentation. I was told on recording that there were resorts who didnt do that and i could ask for it when i called the fulfillment center. Then, as recorded i was told i needed to give 30 to 45 days to book and i said I couldnt because i needed to travel sooner. Again on recording I was told that they could make that happen. That was all false information. I called to set up the trip and they wouldnt wven talk to me for 14 days. Then they said I couldnt book for 30 days.. I finally talked to someone to set something up and i was told I couldnt have ocean front. So already i was lied to about a few things. I then booked for a resort. I asked about adding a day at an additional cost. I was told that they would check but that my travel dates of Aug. 2 to 6th were set. I was waiting for an email confirmation. It never came. When I called back I was told my booking confirmation wasnt found and they asked if I paid my additional fees. Again This I guess was my mistake but I thought the additional fees added on in the first place was what they were talking about. I called back again to ask questions on the account. I wanted to ask what those fees were then that were added and make sure I still had my trip booked. During all the time before this talking to customer service i was transfered around, lied to, hung up on.. And after talking to a manager this last time I was yelled at amd insulted. I asked if my trip was booked amd where I would pay the additional fees. The manager said that i dont have a trip booked that the people are all trained to direct us to the fees when booking the resort. She then said it doesnt take a rocket scientist to know wait for a confirmation.. I was screamed at, insulted... I was willing to pay the extra fees, I just wanted to know where they were all coming from. I was informed that one of the persons I have talked to when booking, kimberly l, is no longer with the company. Maybe it is because she didnt do her job correctly and finish booking. I am not getting what i expected and now no longer have thw trip that i had planned... Even with all that the biggest issue is the way I was insulted and screamed at. I cant believe someone like that would be a manager in customer service. I was nice until i was screamed at and then all I said was i dont like the way you are talking to me. Its an abomination working with a company who treats customers. I now have paid for a trip I cant even take.

Trivago cancelled hotel reservation

My husband and I used Trivago to find a hotel at Daytona beach. Trivago directed us to a company called Elvoline to complete our reservation. When my husband and I arrived at the hotel with our two children, the manager told me that I did not have a hotel reservation. Upon further investigation, he said that my reservation had been cancelled by Elvoline. He then proceeded to tell me that there were not any rooms available and I would need to contact Elvoline to resolve the matter because there was nothing he could do. My husband works Monday through Friday and rarely gets time off of work so we only booked to stay Saturday night and our plan was to arrive somewhat early on Saturday so that we could make the most out of our short vacation. We woke up early on Saturday morning and drove nearly three hours to enjoy our stay at the beach. When the manager told me that they could not do anything because they were booked up, my children and I stood there in shock and in tears. Our reservation was for July 15th and I booked the room on July 12th. When I booked the room Daytona was nearly sold out of hotel rooms so I knew that attempting to find another hotel last minute was going to be nearly impossible. I tried calling the customer service number for Elvoline and I got a recording that said all of their service reps were busy and to please hold the line then I would hear three beeps and the phone would hang up. I called over and over again and continued to hear the same recording and be hung up on. Then I used my cell phone to sign in to Elvoline's website and clicked on the tab that said "My Bookings", and there I could view my reservation for The Plaza Resort & Spa and in big green letters it said "confirmed." I asked for the manager and showed him this website, I showed him my printed copy of the reservation, I even showed him the completed transaction of the funds that were deducted from my account for my hotel stay. Despite all of my proof that I had a reservation, he insisted that there was nothing he could do and that Elvoline should be able to find me another room at another hotel. I was in tears with the frustration of all that was happening and I explained to him that I couldn't even get someone from the company on the phone. He verified that I was calling the correct number and attempted to call, only to discover that he was being hung up on as well. He then gave me a number to a company called Hotel Beds which he said was a larger company that basically owns or manages Elvoline. I did not have any better luck getting through to that company either as I was placed on hold for so long that I finally decided to hang up because I knew that I was wasting time when I should've been searching for a hotel to stay at. Feeling defeated, I asked the manager to call me if they happened to get a cancellation and I left the hotel crying. My husband and I got in the vehicle and drove in circles confused as to where we were supposed to go or what to do. He continued to try to call the customer service number to Elvoline while I used my phone to search for a hotel room. After multiple attempts of calling Elvoline he was able to get through to a live person. We spoke to a gentleman named Evan and told him what was happening. I told him the manager of The Plaza Resort and Spa said Elvoline cancelled my reservation and Evan said that wasn't possible and Elvoline does not cancel reservations without permission from the consumer. I asked him to tell the manager that information and he said he would need to contact the company Hotel Beds so they could contact the hotel. My husband and I went back to the hotel and told them manager what Evan from Elvoline said and the manager told me that he was just about to call me because they just had someone cancel, but unlike our original reservation for a sea view room, the room that became available was city view. My husband and I were afraid we weren't going to be able to find any hotel rooms so we told the manager that we would take that room. Then he proceeded to tell me that the prices have gone up quite a bit since the date that I originally booked my hotel. I exclaimed that it wouldn't be fair to charge me more for this room and that I shouldn't have to pay at all, considering the funds for the original room had already come out of my account. In actuality I should've received some type of refund because a city view room is cheaper than an ocean view. I told the manager that he needed to call the Hotel Beds company because I wasn't about to pay for another room when they have already deducted money from my account for the first room that mysteriously got cancelled. The manager called Hotel Beds and apparently had to speak with someone who is a "higher up" to get it approved for us to stay in the city view room for the price we originally paid for a sea view. After all of this was said and done and we received our room keys we had wasted over 2 hours of our short vacation dealing with nonsense in a hotel lobby when we should've been making sand castles and laying in the sun. To top it all off, when we were finally walking out of the lobby I received a phone call from Evan with Elvoline that he had gotten everything resolved with our reservation and that our reservation had never been cancelled. I told Evan that was a lie and the only reason we even got a room was because someone else had cancelled and it wasn't the room we originally paid for. To make matters worse, there was a truck competition in Daytona that weekend and having a city view room made it very difficult to sleep with all of the loud exhausts of the tons of decked out trucks. This whole mishap took time away from us on our short vacation. It was extremely frustrating for my family and I believe that we should be reimbursed for our stay or offered a free stay. As a consumer this type of treatment is unacceptable. Trivago should reconsider the type of companies that it recommends to its consumers.

Trivago different hotel booked

Booked Hotel Miramar in Essaouira Morocco
Myself, husband and 1 year old baby
From 27th June to 1st July (4 nights)
Booking.com had the best deal at £32 per night.
Confirmation number: [protected].
Pin: 2513.

On the day of arrival, our Transfer company phoned the hotel to confirm our booking, the hotel said there was no booking in our name.

I therefore called booking.com. I was placed on hold whilst they confirmed the booking with hotel. I was informed booking was confirmed.

When we arrived at the hotel (at 3am due to late flight), we were informed there was no booking for us, that they were fully booked, that we were not their customers and therefore not their problem. After pleading with them and explaining we had a baby with us, they allowed us to stay in one of their rooms.

The next day, after further arguments with the hotel, it transpired that we had been booked at the wrong hotel - Hotel Miramar in Tangier. I had to phone Booking.com to cancel the hotel in Tangier, call lasted about 20 minutes and was charged £34.50. The hotel managed to provide us a room but at a higher rate of £59.21 per night.

I have checked and there is an error on your system. When you click onto the booking.com deal, it correctly takes you to Hotel Miramar in Essaouira. However at the booking stage, it goes to and books Hotel Miramar in Tangier.

This caused unnecessary disruption to our holiday. We had to change rooms twice in our 4 night stay as they were fully booked. This was incredibly difficult with a baby and very unsettling for baby and us. We also had to pay almost double for our hotel and £34.50 in phone charges. It ruined our holiday.

I would like a full refund and a reimbursement for the phone charges.

Trivago prices and customer service

Hi,

I'm Christy. I would like to complain my booking is not the best price compare to other app. Trivago is an app that suppose to provide the best price to the user. If you didn't provide, why do I still need to use this app!

On 2nd July, I booked Macau Sheraton Hotel through Trivago. When I searched the Macau hotel for 21st July to 23nd July. Trivago automatically link to booking.com showing the "best price" of $2576 (excluding 5% tax and 10% service charge) for two nights. I booked the "best price" hotel room. However, after I confirmed all the payment, I checked again immediately through Trivago. And the app showed Wing on travel price $2588 (including all tax and service charge) for same room type for two nights.

I'm super disappointed that Trivago not showing the best price. I sent a complain email to Trivago on 2nd July, however I didn't hear any reply from them until now. How come you can ignore a customer's complain letter?

I'm writing to complain and hope to get the money diff back. The attachments are the evidences to show the error of this app. Please don't ignore my email anymore. Thanks!

Br,
Christy

Trivago hotel - paid twice for same room, same date

On May 27, 2017 I booked a room at the Budget Inn of Williamsport PA through Trivago and Expedia for one night, May 28th. The reservation was confirmed as Itinerary # [protected].

A charge of $71.36 appeared on my credit card statement. When I attempted to check in on May 28th the hotel said they couldn't find my reservation or proof that I had already paid for the room. So they charged my card $76.29 for the same room, same night for which I had already paid.

I spoke with Expedia customer service and exchanged emails beginning on May 30, 2017. As of ten days later the duplicate charge has still not been corrected.

Trivago erroneous hotel listing / poor customer service

Event occurred May 26, 2017

I live in Pittsburgh and was driving to Boston on May 27
I decided to stay half way in Fishkill New York.
I went on Trivago Website for Fishkill and found a real "deal: for Springhill Suites - "Uptown"
I booked through Trivago which came through Hotels.com - confirmation returned that i was booked for the night in Sprinhill Suites, Uptown in CHARLOTTE NC.
I immediately call and finally reached that property to cancel - they refused as it was a sameday booking (9 AM).
I called Hotels.com who said they could do nothing about it.
I have written/tried to contact Trivago at least 3 times - no response.
This was a mis-listed property - and the fault of Trivago
Naturally I would like a refund.

June 13 ... After lengthy online process TRIVAGO - provided a full refund to me this day. I had to supply extensive documentation but their customer service (which is in Europe) finally came through. However, I would recommend not using this 2-off website search engine to anyone not accustomed to internet transactions and communications with understaffed customer service operations. I believe I would still be in "neverland" if it was not for their attention being drawn by his complaint board posting

Trivago hotel booking

On 24th May 2017, I thought I had found a good deal, through Trivago, for 3 nights bed and breakfast at Golden Sands, Rhyl, North Wales. So I confidently paid £151.49 to a company called Elvoline.com to book the room.

On arrival at Golden Sands Caravan Park, in Rhyl, on Saturday 27th May 2017, my husband and I were informed that the booking I had made was not for a room with them but for a hotel in Greece. So we were unable to stay there.

A gentleman with a similar Elvoline.com booking confirmation had come into the Caravan Park, earlier that day, only to have it refused and the receptionists had found out, through Google, that the booking was for a hotel in Karfas Bay, Greece.

We had planned to stay on the North Wales Coast for a few days, so had no other option but to find another place to stay - on a busy Bank Holiday Weekend! And of course, we had to pay again - over the odds this time!

On the Trivago website, the deal definitely came up under a search for Rhyl, with the filters, pool and breakfast. So something was not quite right - especially as it happened to at least 2 customers on the same day.

I feel I should be reimbursed for the £151.49 by Trivago, as this was an error/scam on their site.

Trivago hotel booking

I was trying to book a hotel through Trivago, when i saw an offer for Hilton Airport International Mumbai. I was re-directed to Travelguru.com where i successfully booked a room for 07th May, 2017 check out - 08th May, 2017.
On reaching Hilton Mumbai, they informed me there was no booking under my name.
When i carefully looked at the booking voucher that Trivago had provided, they had re-directed me to some hotel called Hotel International Airport Mumbai instead of Hilton International Airport Mumbai.

This clearly is FRAUD.

You can clearly see it on their web-site and mobile application.
The url is :
https://www.trivago.in/?cpt=177684102&iRoomType=7&iPathId=84780&iGeoDistanceItem=1776841&aDateRange%5Barr%5D=2017-06-06&aDateRange%5Bdep%5D=2017-06-07&iViewType=0&bIsSeoPage=false&bIsSitemap=false&

When clicked on 'View Deal', it takes you to Travelguru.com but instead of Hilton Mumbai International Airport to some low grade hotel called 'Hotel Airport International'.

I expect a refund of my booking and additional compensation for the time, embarrassment i faced at Hilton and ruining my experience in Mumbai that night.

Trivago hotel accommodation via orel.com overcharge

Hi we just booked accommodation 8391066 via Trivago on Otel.com. Was R739 x 3 nights = R2317 ZAR but got billed 329 GBP = R5563 ZAR. Please help resolve as we are boarding our flight on 13 April At noon to Thailand and will arrive in Thailand without a hotel if the matter is unresolved.

This is all I budgeted for this trip and Otel.com are on same time zone as us here in SA and hence unable to give me a quick response regarding the overcharge which differs from the quote. I have a screen grab of the quote clearly confirming the amount of R739 per night prior to the end of the transaction. Which clearly differs from the amount billed.

Your assistance in holding Otel.com accountable will be much appreciated as I am a loyal Trivago client and look to your organization for credibility when I make my online travel purchases.

Kind regards

Trivago they don't care about their users!

I booked a hotel which I found on Trivago website. That moment I had no idea that Trivago actually did not book anything and that this website is actually a database or something like that .So I made my booking and paid for my room. Unfortunately I got scammed and when I arrived at the place they said they were full and that they did not have a reservation under my name.
I blame Trivago for having scammers on their website! The fact they have liars and scammers on their site says that they don't care about their users!

Trivago unhappy customer

I was really excited when I found Trivago. I booked a room for a weekend and thought it was really a good deal. When I arrived I could not find my hotel. I checked the address again and realized that I was at the right place. My hotel was more like a hostel. My room was horrible and very dirty, the lights didn't work, toilet was dirty. The place smelled like garbage! I asked for another room, but they were "sold out" of rooms. I did not want to stay there, so I went to another hotel. Later I contacted Trivago customer service and asked for a refund, but they said they could not do that. I'm very disappointed.

Trivago worst site we've ever used!

I booked two rooms in a hotel in Paris. But when I paid I didn't know they've charged doubled price for the second room. I didn't know about that until I received a message from my bank. I immediately called customer service but I was put on hold. After being on hold for over an hour I was told there will be no refunds and no cancellation. Then I decided to contact the hotel, but they told they had not been contacted by Trivago at all. They did not know anything about my reservation. Will never use this horrible service again! Thieves just stole my money! But they will not get away with it!

Trivago problems with hotel reservation

We booked a hotel through Trivago on Otel.com which should have been refundable and "pay at the hotel". Unfortunately, after booking we were charged for the hotel immediately and we couldn't cancel the booking as it turned out to be non-refundable. However, the worst was the communication with the customer line of Otel.com. They were not trying to help or even understand and at one point they stopped communicating with us. I tried to contact customer line trhough e-mail of Trivago as well but didn't get any reply for 2 weeks. Couldn't find a Czech phone number for the customer line.

The repetitious bridge in your advert that aren't even vocals but rather a strange sound is so loud and repetitive it makes me turn my TV off as soon as your advert comes on. The frequency of your adverts also makes me avoid several TV channels indefinitely, even if shows are on that I want to watch. You need to dial it back.

Users can search for accommodations based on their desired destination, travel dates, and specific preferences such as room type, amenities, and budget.

The website offers a user-friendly interface where travelers can refine their searches with filters and sorting options to find the most suitable hotel for their needs. Trivago's search engine is designed to display a range of options, including different room types and rates, allowing users to make informed decisions based on price comparisons.

In addition to hotel search and comparison, Trivago provides hotel ratings, which are compiled from various sources, including user reviews and professional rating systems. This feature aims to assist users in evaluating the quality of potential accommodations.

Trivago also offers a mobile application for users who prefer to search and book hotels on-the-go. The app provides similar functionality to the website, with the added convenience of mobility.

It's important to note that Trivago itself is not a booking site; it redirects users to external booking sites where they can complete their reservations. Trivago generates revenue primarily through cost-per-click (CPC) advertising, where booking sites pay Trivago a fee each time a user clicks through to their website.

Overall, Trivago's service is centered on providing a comprehensive hotel search and comparison tool to assist travelers in finding accommodations that fit their preferences and budget.
