Transam Associates who are they

Yes it sounds to good to be true. I didn't go far enough to get scammed... Thank God... but because there are alot of 'scams' going on in today's time, I make a point to go to the "whois" website to see who it is I am about to do business with. After several attempt trying to enter their web address in< transamassociates.com>, it could not verify the site. So I decided to Google for scams... and here I am...What a small world. Any way, good luck you all.

Transam Associates Possible Fraud

I contect this place from a legitimate job listing but because the information supplied was so vague I decided to ask the on line CSR Rep some questions first.

She actually refused to give me a direct answer and kept pushing me to take the on line test. I said okay.

After doing so and submitting the test. I then decided to call the company. A woman answered the phone and it sounded as if she was in a little room and not a corporation as she stated she was. She did not identify herself as most companies would. And she gave me the impression she was afraid that I would ask any more questions. I decided to tell her. Okay. I will continue with the application, but instead I found this website and saw all of the complaints! WOW... I also saw that they were charging $495 bucks! Non refundable.

Its terrible that these people are continously ripping off individuals. Its very hard to get my cash...even $1 . I will check you out first.! Everyone should go this route before you commit anything check this site, check the att. gen office. and the BBB.

For those of you who are looking for the real thing and work from home...contact me. I have the real thing... I was looking for more but certainly not a scam.

Send me an e mail.

So funny, right? I made up the dictation and sent it to them, just to prove a point. Point proven! They are a scam. Why would they accept that dictation? It was hideous...lol

Transam Associates SCAM

I too received the e-mail described by others. I am an unemployed accountant so I spend the vast majority of my time each day on line job searching.

After spending countless hours applying for jobs 100 miles from my home I began taking a closer look at all these "Great" Work From Home Opportunities. The first thing I did was google, for example : "What is Transam Associates" for every on line job opportunity I received. Advice I strongly encourage everyone to follow.

Guess what I have found! That I have yet to receive even "One" legit on-line or Work From Home job opportunity e-mail. Every google search reveals in some cases one to several "Positive Reviews" which I noticed are posted by the Company, or are associated with the company's, web address. Then there are the countless "Negitive Reviews" written by those that have unfortunately fallen victim to these "Low Life, Blood Sucking, Creeps" taking advantage of our vulneralbility in these tough economic times.

Keep in mind for every one person that takes the time to try to Prevent You from making the same mistake, there are hundreds that are to embarrassed to post it.

It is important to "Do Your Due Diligence" research before purchasing anything on line! Use this site it will point out obvious details that should raise an eyebrow for example:
when I was reading the previous posts regarding Transam Associates, I noticed that the So-Called Recruiter, on one of the posted sample e-mails, was "Kimberely Carton" well on my e-mail it's "Kimberely Carson" could it be a typo from a Medical Transcription Training Facility? I think not! This one detail told me that this is clearly FRAUDULENT!

Remember, if it seems to good to be true "IT IS". If you have to send $ to get a job it is a "SCAM".

I would like to personally Thank this site and more importantly Thank Everyone that has taken the time to post their experiences. You have all saved me and I appreciate all of you for that.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your complaint. I have been receiving e-mails from a woman named Kimberly "Carton" with transam Associates asking me to complete a sample dictation which I did, and today I have received an e-mail asking me to join a live chat tonigt at 8 p.m. I have been unemployed for about two years now and just decided to try working from home and since this so-called job opportunity came through yahoo hotjobs I thought it was legit but still something in the back of my mind bothered me about it so I decided that before I went any further I would research the company and I was led to this website. Thank god for people like you to warn everyone about these scam artists.

All true and all so sad. I have not gone as far as to pay money. I never do. Just like with modeling etc. If they want you and you will be providing a service tht will ultimately bring THEM money while to are making it, you should not have to pay. What caught me was that the link that was in my email was highlighted in blue, like most are, but I could not click on it to take me to listen to whatever to transcribe whatever. I pasted the link on google and the complaint links was all the 1st two that appreared and looks like the only. I would love to work from home, but I have an awesome job already, I was actually looking for my sisters who are at risk of death if they don't change their jobs which is contributing to one's bad habit (weight).Seriously. If you guys live in the southern cali area and you might want to check if they have other locations, but my sis works for Aetna, the insurance company in the dental department and after 3 or 6 months, they give you an option of working from home. Pay is pretty good, benefits, time off etc and they provide you the computer, come to your house install everything you need, and pay for your internet service. She was in Thousand Oaks, but works at home in Los Angeles which is about an hour away. Good luck to you all.

Transam Associates Fraud and abuse

I was sent an email from Transam Associates through hotjobs.com. I thought it was legit at first. Just do the sample dictation and they will pay for you to be trained and get you a job and you make slots of money. Right? Well, I am in sort of a desperate spot so I thought, wow, at least I can do somethin and from my home to make some money. Weel I started thinking that this sounded too good to be true. I typed in Transam Associates and found this site wwith all sorts of good information. Like they say, "If it sounds too good to be true, then it is!". No company I have ever worked required my to purchase software to work for them. I smell a dead rat here. Thankyou for providing this information and for protecting us from these scammers. They are taking advantage of people who are really need a job and are wasting thier time with this nonsense. There should be a law against people doing this. I am sure everything they are is legal, just not ethical.

I got the email today about learning to be a Medical Transcriptionist. It said it was from Hotjobs so I thought it was legitimate. I did the sample dictation and sent an email back to the recruiter, Kim something. But of course, I didn't feel right about the whole deal and I pulled up the company name and found all this. I want to thank each of you for telling your story and I am so sorry that you had to go through what you did. I can't believe companies can do this to people! Again thank you for saving me from making a huge mistake I can't afford to make... GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Transam Associates Work at Home - Med Transcrption Scam

I almost got scammed by this company just this week. I received an email earlier this week about Medical Transcription Training and they asked me to transcribe sample Dictation, which I did and sent it back. The first email was sent by someone named Kimberly Carson. Then I got a second email from the same lady with instructions to fill out the personal information and this email said I will have to buy the software and some books and the training would take several months to one year. Then at the end the signature said Kimberly Carton instead of Carson. That right away raised a flag in my mind because if this is a professional firm, they should at least have their so called recruiters have the right signature at the end of the email. So then I Googled it, and no to my surprise I found all these complaints. Thank GOD for Google and people who are watching out for others. I also felt that I should complain so that the more repors there are, more power to people.

Be advised - every entity mentioned in this post is a scam, view URLs at your own risk.

Transam Associates also does business (scams) with these web pages (spaces added on purpose):
http://www. healthcare-employment .net/
http://www. affiliated-healthcare .net/

Their sample.mp3 file also matches a sample from Transcription America over a year ago. Although the badly made web pages use different templates than http://www. transamassociates .com, their live chat links use the same site ID numbers, proving the connection.

The "software" sites ( http:// mtsoftware .org/ and http://www. mtprofessional .com/ ) are also badly made and feature the same chat link. The scammers in the live chat are unwilling (and do not even attempt) to explain why the support chat for a computer program links to a recruiting session/interview.

A sample of a chat I experienced is saved here:

Again, be advised - every entity mentioned in this report is a scam.

"I caught the mis-spelling in the last names too." I am also unemployed and looking for work. I received an e-mail from joboffer@transamassociates.com saying that they pulled my resume from off line. They went on to say that I could start working in Medical Transscription and receive free tuition and training. I went as far as listening to a voice recording and having to dictate it, then I e-mailed it back to them. (I actually thought it was too good to be true.) Later on that night I had a dream that it was a fake!
God's warning! The next morning I received another e-mail telling me that I did well and that I was ready to go to the next phase of the interview. They gave some website to click on. I read the e-mail carefully this time and discovered that the last names were spelled differently. The first e-mail was sent by Kimberly Carson, National Recruiter. The second e-mail was from a Kimberly Carton, National Recruiter. I then was very suspecious and googled the web-site and found that they are frauding people. Thank God for Google. I'm glad I didn't go any further with them. You would think if they were going to run a scam, they would have their mess together.

I caught the Carson / Carton mispelling too - not to mention, for a transcription company whose aim is to have one error or less per page of dictation, the email from Kimberly Carson/Carton was rambling and choppy, words misspelled. Yikes. Then I googled. Glad I did. Whew.

Transam Associates Scammers and cheaters

Attention all recession clobbered, out work, just trying to make the bills get paid people out there, I got ripped off, and it could yhappen to you. I made the mistake of signing up to be trained to become a Medical Transcriptionist with these people, if you can call them that. the people running Transan Associates are, surprise surprise, SCAM ARTISTS!

Like many others out there, I was searching for a way to make an honest living at home through the use of my computer and was contacted by Transam Associates via a Yahoo Hot Jobs Alert. These sub-human blood suckers offered me free training to become a Medical Transcriptionist, provided I pay for their software (MtProfessional) kit. I am not exactly internet savvy, but am also not stupid, and was just looking for legitimate work at home. I fell victim to their prey at first and put their software kit on 'layaway' and sent them $100 bucks. I didnt get an instant receipt right away like you should with any internet purchase, so I immeadiately got sick to my stomach knowing that I had probably just made a huge stupid mistake. I investigated, and sure enough I was right, and found out through blogs and the BBB that they are not legit. I tried calling these people and they wouldn't even acknowledge that they were who they claimed to be on the net, and told me that I kept dialing the wrong number, even though the number was clearly listed on my phone, and I had gotten their MtProfessional voicemail a few times before a live person finally picked up. She was unwilling to admit it was them and tried to tell me I was dialing wrong. I was given the ol blow off run around. I was ripped off and am writing a report to help any other individuals from having the same thing happen to them by these SCAMMERS.

I want to thank you along with the other complaints I have found about Transam Associates.
I had hoped to get my certificate to become a medical transcriber only to find out that they are not legit.
Now I can sign up at a local school and try and get my certificate on my own.

I want to thank you for this post because I almost fell for it. My sister had done it and just texted me and told me to stay away from this company. Thank God for her and you because I would have been ripped off. Again I can not thank you enough for this post. Transam Associates Fraud and lies

I got an email to be a medical transcriber from Transam. They are willing to give you free training and then guarantee you work once you finish their 'free' training. But of course, you need to purchase software for $495 in order to do the training and get your eventual work from them. Talked with an 'on-line representative' where you are able to ask questions about the training and jobs. The only answers I could get out of them was that the training is free, needed to purchase the software to enable me to train and eventually get jobs. Each time I asked how did I get the jobs once the training was over, I would get the same answer, 'this is a hard job, training is needed and we will guarantee you work'. Never was my quested answered on how I would get this work, or how much money you are paid. 'Do you want to purchase the software now? We could give it to you for only $260 down and the rest within a month. I hope people do not fall for this scam. It is really a shame that at this time when so many people are out of work and hoping to find something, that there are companies like Transam trying to take advantage of you. This is a scam.

Transam Associates Scam

Company claims to "train" medical transcriptionists and keep them on the hook by never allowing them to pass exams and be hired.

Was suspicious, but since I was not in a hurry or needed the money quickly, I was more patient than usual, and studied on and off for a period of three years, accumulating considerable knowledge. When I did take the studying seriously and crammed for the qualifying tests, I passed the first two and "failed" the third, twice as long as the first two.
A friend advised that the company was probably a scam. I began to research the Internet, and found multiple complaints from other "students." This confirmed my suspicions.
Very unfortunate and very discouraging. The money for the software is water under the bridge in my circumstances. I tried to research the company initially through BBB in 2005, it seemed legitimate.
Believe Online BBB must do more rigorous research and post easily accessible results for protection of the public.

Apparently a lot of us got suckered! I too wanted to work from home while taking care of my Mom who wasnt well at the time and found this online. I also tried to research the company through the BBB and found nothing negative. Now I'm out $500 that I really didnt have to begin with. A few years after I tried to get back into it and called the company to find out if I had to purchase the rights all over again and they told me no that I would only have to send $50 to get reinstated. Here I am again looking for the link to get back into it and I now find out it was nothing more than a scam. How do we get our money back? Is there any kind of class action law suit going on? Would like to know.

The people are right in saying how they were never good enough to pass the tests. I tested plenty of times and even though I was in the medical field prior, I could never pass.

I'm not sure if they are a scam. Why would they pay people to do live chats and grade tests for a small (one time) amount of $490.00? I contacted the Better Business Bureau before I paid the fee. It looked good. I have been doing the training for 1 1/2 years. I have yet to pass a test, but that is because of my errors. If you have heard anything else be contact me. Thanks.

Transam Associates Transam Associates on Beyond.com

The complaints are true! I found Transam Assoc on Beyond.com which is supposed to help you find jobs. I'm from the Central Valley area in California. I am a real person, a wife and mom looking for legit work! This is the email I received:

Hello

Thank you for sharing your ''Beyond resume'' so we could contact you through this job alert about a work at home job.

Transam Associates provides precise medical transcription of voice files that doctors dictate for hospitals, clinics and doctor offices.

Transam Associates also conducts its own training program that prepares individuals for the medical transcription profession. This training is done online in the comfort of your own home. A personal trainer is provided to guide individuals in the training program through a Live Chat environment.

As a recruiter for this national transcription service, I am seeking full-and part-time, home-based medical transcriptionists. We are committed to providing a work environment where medical transcriptionists can grow and be respected for the professionals they are.

This is for entry level individuals and if you are not yet qualified, we'll provide tuition FREE training and a personal trainer that you'll need to become qualified. Once you meet our criteria, which will be defined for you before you begin, you will be certified by us as an accomplished medical transcriptionist and can begin to work for Transam Associates, Inc. Special books and software are required.

The pay is good. After completing the training program, people seem to do quite well and as you get more experience, people seem to earn $1, 000 to $2, 000 a month working about 20-30 hours a week. Some make $3, 000-$4, 000 a month, full-time 40-48 hours a week (This does not happen overnight). If you want to work more, you'll earn more. If you want to work less, you'll earn less. The choice is yours.

We will provide to you a great working environment where you can make a difference. Our medical transcriptionists start as contractors and are eligible for raises. Whether or not you have experience, you can find rewarding work as a medical transcriptionist.

After transcribing this sample we will answer all your questions.

But, the first step is to do the following:
Please transcribe (type what you hear) in this sample and then we will get right back with you.
http://www.transamassociates.com/beyond2/default.asp

I took the test and got this email:

Hi! WHERE ON THE INTERNET DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US?

We have received your sample and it has been accepted as a true representation of your work and worthy of moving forward.

You transcribed a digital voice file. Actual physician dictation may be more difficult to understand.

If you need training, we provide tuition FREE training.

~~ If you have already been trained then you DO NOT need to go through our training. You are ready to work for Transam in a real job. The only requirement is that you transcribe accurately. This is for an entry level individual.

We would like to see if you can train and work with us. You have the FREEDOM to choose. You can transcribe any time during the day as long as it is back to us by the next day. The only other decision is to choose which days you are available. Special books and software are required.

All of your questions will be answered in the agreement. Let me know if you would like to review the application agreement.

We are looking forward to working with you.

Thank you.

I, too, was looking into this. I got all those same e-mails that you all posted above. Sounded like a great opportunity. When I saw the $495 price tag on the equipment, I got suspicious. Thank you all for your postings. I will stay away from this company.

Thank you for making us aware of such scam. I too just received notification of being accepted and now waiting for a recruiter to call. The contents of the letters you have all received is an exact duplicate of what I got. I was initially excited but now I am disgusted.

All I want to know is what can we do about sites that prey on us desperate unemployed folks out here. It should be against the law for such companies to have an operation. I too should be given in the account of this issue here at hand. I now know what to expect in a return mail from this place as well.

I recieved the exact same email today. I decided also to do a little research and saw the C- rating on BBB with all of their complaints. Did a little more digging and found this website with all the same complaints. Glad I decided to look around before even doing their "dictation."

I am in shock about the number of complaints here about this company, Transam Associates. I too took the dictation test and was offered a job as an entry level transcriptionist. But then, the communication stopped, altogether. So I took it upon myself to google them. Here I am, you already know the rest of the story. Oh well, I can't give up, I'll keep looking. But for the record, companies of scam artist should get thiers!

Transam Associates MALICIOUS LIERS

The poor reputation of Transam associates is now everywhere on the web. Not only do the cheat and rip people off their money, they have audicity to insist on being legit while the truth is that so much factual information has accumulated against them, that doing so only makes them look like silly SCAMMERS.
Their goal is to get $490 off your wallet for supposedly FREE training and a GUARANTEED live work, making people go thru tedious trainings for months without
really putting them into real live work situation.
Please whoever reads this... do NOT fall for $290 MT software, it is not a real modern communication tool.
All it is audio files and not a superb state-of-the art communication tool between you and them. And no wonder there is no REFUND, not even partially for the equipment.
The files you will be getting from them are garbled audio files designed for losers to constantly fail their tests so that they keep you in training forever.
So for those who want their dreams to come true and move forward with real live work, STAY AWAY FROM THAT COMPANY!

I too, looked into this company. After reading the agreement I got quite suspicious of the whole thing. I did do the live chat and thought I would never get off of it. The red flag really went up when they expressed "no personal checks, money orders are acceptable." I am so glad I took the time to google this company. They will not get any of my money. Unreal.
Back to the job search. Unfortunately, greed (as Michael Douglas exclaimed in "Wall Street") is not good. It is what will kill our country. If we allow frauds like this to go unpunished, we all deserve what we get. I feel like an idiot for not doing my homework before I spent the first minute of interest. My vanity made me want to accept their flowery (admittedly professional looking) enticement at face value. I will report this scam to the bbb. Good luck on your job searches.

I have been "chatting" with Transam since Friday. It always bothered me that you had to buy their softwear. I have my own foot pedal and program, but they told me that I had to buy their softwear in order to be able to do their transcriptions. I checked the BBB, the chamber of commerce, and the secretary of state as they suggested when I asked questions. All of these agencies had no complaints about Transam. I was talking to my daughter today, telling her that I was thinking about buying the program, and she suggested that I check out Google. I am certainly glad that I did this! The website sounded so authentic! I have a medical background and I attended a transcription school, so I was looking for a job. PLEASE if anyone knows of a reputable company that hires recent grads, let me know. Thank you everyone for saving me $499!

Thank you all for your feedback. Unfortunately I also purchased the software and the pedal. If nothing comes from them but the training (which is supposed to be TUITION FREE, not FREE for the software, atleast I'll get the training and be able to contract myself out locally. I already have the equipment...why not. Atleast I won't be chasing people down for no reason, I'll actually have practice and skills. Oh well, another lesson learned the hard way... :(

I'm sorry for you Chris, thank God I escaped their trap. I really think you should contact the law enforcement about it, the company did it for long enough already. They reapeatedly say pay and work is GUARANTEED, and don't even mention the possibilty that you will lose your money. If the law allows this kind of thing to take place, then this is a stain on our society.

Transam Associates Fraud and cheating company!

I actually found this job on yahoohotjobs.com which would make one think it is legitimate. Wrong-they emailed me repeatedly asking me to do a sample dictation for them which I did. Then they said all you have to do is read the agreement and then we will start your training today. In the agreement it says you have to purchase the software, which I know many transcriptions who have done that. So I started chatting with their so-called live help center. I asked for references from Doctors whom they transcribe for and testimonials from employees. The chat person said 'I'm sorry we cannot release info on our Doctors and if we had our employees say anything we would have to pay them and that would be tainted information but we can tell you how long we've been in business.' I'm sorry but just the way the whole thing goes down is shady. They told me that they do not under any circumstance refund the money and the training can be anywhere from one to several months, it all depends on you. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. I told live chat that they should be ashamed of themselves for ripping people off and they should get real jobs. Her response was 'good luck to you, thanks for chatting with me today, bye for now' yeah I don't think I will be back.

This company assures you a medical transcriptioning job for free and then charges you almos $500.00 to even start. Thanks to other posts I did not spend the money but see that several people did spend it. I reported them to BBB.org and now this site so they stop taking people's money. With the economy the way it is they are taking advantage of those of us who are looking for income.

When questioned about their business practices, the Transam representative became flustered and accusatory of me for questioning them on their business practices.

See the following conversation that I had with them.

Recruiting Assistant: Hello! Thank you for contacting Transam's Live Support. How may I help you today?

Geneva: hello. I would like to reschedule my interview please.

Recruiting Assistant: Good afternoon

Recruiting Assistant: I'd be happy to talk with you about the job interview with our company.

Recruiting Assistant: Where are you in the application process? Did you transcribe a sample for us yet? And if so, have you heard back from the company?

Geneva: Yes. I have transcibed a sample and I have been accepted. I also heard back from the company and the company would like to move forward with an interview.

Recruiting Assistant: This is your job interview. This is a guaranteed job!
If you qualify, you work for and get paid by us.

This is hard work. Did you go to school for medical transcription?
What working experience have you had?
Tell me a little bit about your background.

Geneva: I have worked as an adminstrative assistant for 3 years. I have also worked in the medical insurance field for 3 years as well. I also have several years of customer service. I have not done straight transcribing before, but feel that my work in the medical insurance field - explaining to customers about their conditions and making sure that they understand how they are covered may help with my understanding the process of transcribing.

Recruiting Assistant: We will train you and bring you up to speed to the way we transcribe. We assign you your own personal trainer to do that. The trainer designs a program specifically for you. Based on your background, experience, and previous training. That way you don't have to repeat what you already know. Here's the guarantee: as soon as you are accurate in your transcription we move you over to 'live' work and you start getting paid right away by us. We pick up all the cost for training, your only investment is in the software itself.

Geneva: How much is the software?

Geneva: hello? are you still there?

Recruiting Assistant: You may not need any training at all.

Three exams are given in the beginning and if you pass, then you are put to work immediately and start getting paid right away. You only need to be accurate according to our standards.

I am sure you will do just fine.

Recruiting Assistant: The MT Professional is the total communication link between you and us. That's how you receive your work. That's how you send your work back to us. And that's how you talk to your personal trainer 'live' right in the program.

MT Professional utilizes state-of-the-art techniques to ensure patient confidentiality and to keep all of the transactions and operations in accordance with the HIPAA regulations and guidelines.

Let me briefly explain how this whole process works and then I will answer your questions.
- The special software is the MT Professional..
- It's $495 and you will need that for both the training and for the actual 'paid live' work.
- Are you in the position financially to purchase the software at this time?
http://www.mtprofessional.com/HOP_Pricing.asp

Geneva: No, unfortunately, I am not in a position to pay $495 at this time.

Geneva: Do you have a company intranet that I could log onto in lieu of purchasing the software?

Geneva: Are you still there?

Recruiting Assistant: We DO NOT expect you to have ALL the money right now. We will work with you.

The good news is that you can start your training today.

Recruiting Assistant: You may be wondering if we are a credible organization. Is this for real?

We are with the Chamber -- .and we are not just members of the Chamber of Commerce --- we are on the board of directors too. You can email the Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber Member
Chamber Email: info@seffnerchamber.com
You can also know that the state of Florida has 'certified' Transam Associates as a valid legitimate corporation.
Go to the Secretary of State for reassurance at this web site:
http://sunbiz.org/corinam.html and search for Transam Associates
We are listed with the Better Business Bureau and we are celebrating our 11th year in business. You are in good hands with us. We have over 200 transcriptionists all over the country. From Hawaii, Alaska, Canada and sprinkled all across the USA.
You are in good hands with us.

Geneva: It looks like Linda Loehr has been doing this for some time. So, how is it that you will be working with me on the price of this software?

Recruiting Assistant: We want you to start this month. This limited opportunity of tuition FREE training has been extended to 5:00 pm. EST on June 13, 2010...
- I don't want you to miss out on this opportunity. If you take advantage of this and sign up this month you won't miss out...
- We need you to start in the next week or so...
- Let me see what I can do.
- Hold on...

Recruiting Assistant: There are payment plans! You pay $260 and you can download the software and start today. The balance can be paid later ... at your convenience.

The balance can be paid in the next month or two..hopefully as soon as possible.
We will send you a reminder!

Click on this link and take a look:
http://www.mtprofessional.com/hop_210_pay.asp

Geneva: I see that you have control over the discount on the software, however, I am not in a position to pay $260.00. I've also noticed that payments go to the pinecrest address that you list. Is there anything else you can do to help with this? I prefer to work dept free.

Recruiting Assistant: There is another option. We have a "Lay Away Plan" which means that you will have complete access to the training department in case you have any questions and we will set aside your own personal copy of the MT Professional on terms which permit periodic payments for the software. Delivery is deferred until you pay the first $260. For example, you could pay $130 this month and then $130 next month. The remaining balance of $255 will need to be paid during your training before you begin your Group 2 practice files. Please note there are no refunds.
Please note: The minimum payment is $130.
I don't want you to miss out on this opportunity.
Click on this link and take a look: https://www.mtprofessional.com/layaway.asp

Geneva: I have been looking at the bbb site and how found numerous complaints against your company. What is your response to the complaints filed against you?

Recruiting Assistant: Rather than just relying on the ratings section that the BBB provides, we recommend that you scroll further down the page and read the details concerning the actual complaints. In reading this detail you will see that in almost all cases the BBB was satisfied with our response to the complaint.

Recruiting Assistant: There are always two sides and the BBB requires that a company address every complaint in detail. They then make their determination based on having both sides, hence they were satisfied that we provided a valid response and addressed all issues in the complaint. Just because a complaint is lodged does not mean it necessarily has merit.

Geneva: I also see that you are not accredited with the BBB. What is your response to this?

Geneva: Due to the number of complaints against you, your company has a C- rating. What is your response to this?

Recruiting Assistant: BBB accredited businesses PAY A FEE for accreditation to the Better Business Bureau.

BBB accreditation does not mean that the business’ products or services have been evaluated or endorsed by the BBB, or that the BBB has made a determination as to the business’ product quality or competency in performing services.

Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not PAID A FEE to the BBB.

Geneva: Due to the number of complaints against you, your company has a C- rating. What is your response to this?

Recruiting Assistant: The information above answers that question. We have responded to each and every complaint with the BBB and to the satisfaction of the BBB. Just because a complaint is lodged does not mean it necessarily has merit.

Geneva: There is something to be said about being accredited with the BBB. To be accredited by BBB, a business must apply for accreditation and BBB must determine that the business meets BBB accreditation standards. With a C- rating, would it not improve the image of the company and my possible employment if you improved your own situation by meeting their accreditation standards instead?

Geneva: Regardless of your history as shown above. I think that this deserves an answer independent of that.

Geneva: To gain accreditation you must:

Geneva: 1. build trust - establish and maintain a positive rating in the market place.

Geneva: 2. Advertise Honestly

Geneva: 3. tell the truth - honestly represent products and give adequate disclosures upfront

Recruiting Assistant: Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not PAID A FEE to the BBB. We have chosen not to pay the BBB to get a higher rating.

Recruiting Assistant: Hello! Thank you for contacting Transam's Live Support. How may I help you today?

Recruiting Assistant: It is certainly an admirable goal for an organization to give consumers insight into how a company does business, but at the same time, every company, no matter what industry they are part of, should be treated and rated by the same standards as any other company regardless of the industry. This is where the BBB fails. If you would like to see what other companies feel about this same issue you can visit the following websites: copy into your web browser, i, e, Internet Explorer.

http://www.http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_pwwi/is_200804/ai_n25159929

/URL removed/

or /URL removed/

Geneva: I did search those already which is why I am asking the questions here.

Geneva: Which is also why I expect real answers; not canned ones.

Recruiting Assistant: Those sites will give you information on the BBB also. We as a company have made the decision not to pay for accreditation. As the BBB states accreditation does not mean the BBB endorses or is evaluating our company. You would need to look at more than just the rating to get an understanding that we have responded to all complaints and the BBB agree that we have complied with that.

Geneva: Let me quote you: "It is certainly an admirable goal for an organization to give consumers insight into how a company does business, but at the same time, every company, no matter what industry they are part of, should be treated and rated by the same standards as any other company regardless of the industry. This is where the BBB fails." and yet it applies the same standards to every company. Those were the standards that I began to list for you before you cut me off and got flustered. Why do you not feel obligated to align yourself with these standards that apply across the board to other companies? Because of a fee?

Geneva: and yet you ask me to pay a fee to be obligated to you?

Recruiting Assistant: Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation

Geneva: no obligation to be professional, be transparent, be honest, be upfront regarding the product costs, or to honor promises? all because of a fee?

Recruiting Assistant: We have given you all of the information regarding our company and any costs upfront.

Recruiting Assistant: You are taking the rating on the BBB and making it your sole decision on whether we are an upfront, honest, professional company without taking into consideration that we have responded to those complaints and to the satisfaction of the BBB.

Geneva: No, I am asking a question. Your perception of me making this personal is incorrect.

Recruiting Assistant: Please review all of the information we have provided you, only you can decide if this opportunity is right for you. We are not accreditated with the BBB and that is a choice that each company makes. It should not be a reflection on our company as even the BBB states that it is not endorsing or evaluating a company. It is merely providing the consumer with information.

Recruiting Assistant: I understand that this is a personal decision and you need to do what is best for you. We indeed welcome you with us if you decide to proceed. If your decision is not to proceed at this time, we wish for you success in the future.

Geneva: Being that your discussion with me has at times been accusatory and at other times flustered due to simple questioning about the company and its history of complaints, I choose to not be an employee of yours.

Geneva: Thank your for the heads up look into my future with your company. It is much appreciated.

This "company" is horrible, I found this company through YahooJobs and I'm sorry I did, they ask for $595, and claim they have been in business for 11 years, though through the BBB they have only been around since 2005, they can't even get their lies straight! I was nice in my email to them saying I did research the company and wasn't happy with the findings, if they could please remove me from their records, I didn't expect an email from them but they did get back to me, stating "We are opting out, DON'T email us anymore unless you want to be a nuisance". Did my ears decieve me? What jerks, and to think I was trying to be kind to them with my request! They are known for taking your money and then not sending you work, always research everything! Lucky I didn't get suckered, they need to be closed down for being dishonest people taking honest peoples money. Make sure not to let your wife, mother, daughter or anyone who wants a stay at home job doing Medical Trascription go through Transam.

I was looking for a job at home from my computer. I ran across a company called Transam Assoicates offering schooling as well as a job offer. I spoke with a lady named Sherryk in which she proceeded to help me get started. I had to take two tests in which this was to help them put me where I needed to be in the learning process. Sherryk assured me that I had great typing skills and could be looking at a position with their company. I was asked to pay $260 at the start and then the rest had to be paid before I could start the full courses in getting a job. After paying the full amount of $495 I then proceeded with Group audio's of 30-31 in each. Sherryk came to me in email and said it would be helpful if I would take the Grammar English course and I did. My grades were A's and B's. I then took the Terminology course in which Sherryk said would be a helpful course as well. In my booklet they give you, it said you would be awarded a certificate of completion for taking the classes. I went to Sherryk after finishing the courses and asked how I receive my certificates as all my grades were A's and B's. She told me I would not get the certificates until I started working for the company Transam Associates. I said well I worked hard to get the grades I did and therefore continued to be their sucker. I completed all their Groups of Audio's in which I would check my work with perfect ratings. I was told after you complete 2 groups of audios you begin taking your tests, 3 in a row with 100% accuracy. Each time I got to the tests I couldn't understand the gentleman speaking it was so blurbed. I went back to Sherryk and said this is not right, no way in passing these and this is the same man I listen to in the audio's. She told me well I had to listen carefully as these doctors are doing things as they are speaking in their recorders. I continued on with the work of audio's in trying to pass them so I could start live work as they call it. Each time I came to the testing audio it was the same thing, blurbed all over the place and was not able to be understood. I asked a friend of mine who has had 26 years in this same work to listen and she laughed and said no way can I understand him and if I were you I would just count this up as a loss as this doesn't seem correct, no way you can understand the man but no way of completing this testing with 100% accuracy. I continued to try as it ment alot to me to finish this and start live work. This is my career and I intended on getting it 100% correct as I need the money to help in supporting my family. I have come to the reality check as to this place should be looked into as I got to Groups 9-10 and the same thing continues. I not only spent out for the MT Professional software but also bought myself a $199.00 foot pedal and books from Amazon making me spend more money to do this then I had.
I have now enrolled in a college to better my career and become a real Medical Transcriptionist as well as get a real certificate for my hard work. After I get my certificate for Medical Transcriptionist I will go for my RMT license.
To anyone looking for a job at home, cut your costs and go to a real school (College) offering a real certificate for your honors that can also offer you a job afterwards.
Transam Associates and their MT Professional software is nothing but bogus and totally takes from your time to become who you really want to become. Do not waste your time and energy as well as your money. Make yourself happy and find the true in yourself, , , , (College) that can make you who you want to be.
Transam Associates I believe you should have to give every dime back you have taken from people and you should go to jail for your fake nonsense that takes people in the wrong direction. You Transam Associates should be forced to do the right thing. You are not legit and you are nothing but a joke. I am living proof.
Now I am on my way to a real certificate and a real job. People don't be blinded by this company you will just lose your money and your time.

Hi Matt,
I was one of the foolish ones. I paid for the program, I took their Grammar English course, plus bought the book through Amazon. I took their Terminology Course also, which I bought a book for through Amazon. I have done so many Groups of 30-31 and then tested. I have passed my group files with flying colors but when it comes to the test, can't understand the same person that was on the audios that I could understand. They say you receive a certificate for your Grammar course and your Terminology course although, when I completed both with high A's and B's they told me NO, I don't get that until I start working for them. Disappointed here and fed up with this place, if there were some place I could go for my money back I would, although they do not give your money back, I have lost my money on the program of $500.00 plus all of my books plus almost a years worth of my time in which I have worked very hard daily to get this position. I have gone to some colleges now in order to get my certificate for Medical Terminology as well as my RMT and each college I have spoken to can not even find MT Professional or Transam Associates in their books as a good replicable Credited Schooling. Beware people in what you find on the internet. These people are out to take your money...

Very entertaining chat session, tigerneva!
I am adding the chunk below onto lots of Transam complaints so people can see how far the scammers have spread and some of the various names they use.

Be advised - every entity mentioned below in this post is a scam, view URLs at your own risk.

A sample of a chat I experienced is saved here:
http://pastebin.com/rmQPXdmD

Again, be advised - every entity mentioned in this report is a scam.

Thank you all so much for this information. I am actually right in the moddle of the communication with this outfit, having just completed the transcription and with an interview timed for 10 am EST (in 10 mins.) Their communication to me immediately drew my suspcions claiming, as it did, that my resume content made me an ideal candidate for a position with the company. As my career history would certainly not suggest that and I had never mentioned my typing speed etc., one can see why suspicions would arise. I will now break off all contact with them and thanks to you, at no cost to me.
