The purse forum is not capable of correctly authenticating designer items. TPF is full of crap. I wanted to be sure that I could trust the opinion of the TPF'ers so I posted pictures of an authentic LV bag that I walked into a LV store and purchased myself and asked TPF to authenticate it, and they told me it was fake "and a bad fake at that" was the exact phrase. I never understood what qualified these people to authenticate designer items in the first place, I just don't get it. They are actually allowed to go around reporting random items as fakes, when they can't tell the difference between a real LV and a fake. I was appalled at their assumptions. I'm sure they're gonna jump all over e and say a bunch of nasty things to me, but this is my story, I have no reason to lie on tpf because I thought they were doing something good until my ordeal. How many sellers lose money because of the purse forums faulty authenticity system? Does the purse forum think twice about the people they hurt? What liability do these websites and TPF take when removing authentic items and ruining the reputation of innocent sellers? I think that a professional system should be put in place to authenticate these items and say what items get pulled, because the TPF system is not legit, and is exceptionally flawed. that's too much power for an unauthorized discombobulated body of people to posses.

Thank you for your informative and kind post. What you posted about the tPF Admins reinforces what I suspected about the site, including giving a false impression of their true site traffic. What I found in my experience is that the same posters are on day after day. I don't know how they do it - that is to have the time to comment on one tPF thread after another. Thanks again.

MG123...
DO note that both ADMIN & many of the MODS that run PF are young persons. And there are TONS of young members. While I certainly will not argue with you about the prevalent rude and snarky behavior on PF, that attitude starts at the top. And prevails thru both young and old. The mean girl circus is the way ADMIN wants this show run. And the reason that there is no delete account feature is so that they can continue to claim high volume membership, when in truth there are typically not 2000 members logged in at any given time. Big advertising ploy. The falsified membership numbers helps keep the adv revenues high.

To the person who posted this complaint - prove it! Interesting that you SAY this but then there's no link to your TPF post where you say this happened. If you are being honest then show PROOF.
You are probably just pissed you got a fake.

Coomonsense24:

I am glad you have potentially found a new home at effenhaute.com
BTW, the term power trip is an older woman's terminology from the sixties. Sorry, but you are not a young girl.

I witnessed many pile ons on tPF. This is the reason why I left - the mean girl circus and the preferencing of the board leaders, Swanky Mama of Three in particular.

I am glad I left tPF. I have already found many sites for young women in my age group and am very happy with the fashion and bags profiled. No one insults the other and I appreciate the professional stylists who run the sites and the non pro sites too - so interesting and with the focus on people in my age group such as fashionistas like the Olsens, well I am very happy. smiles

imo, the fact that Vlad and Megs have no Delete Account option is so they can maintain high membership numbers for attracting advertisers.

I think any semi-intelligent woman, young or old who has read this knows which poster looks like an [censor]. smiles.

I have not joined effen haute yet, but I do read the post from time to time and the forum in general comes across much more relaxed than TPF. I HATE the moderators at tpf, but the ones at effen haute seem much less invasive, and aren't on some power trip. I haven't experienced it just being a clone of tpf. This opinion may change one I join! I also wish I could delete my tpf account, as someone else above was complaining about. But I think weight and age is irrelevant, and speaking about it just makes you sound like an uneducated fool. Just one young girls opinion.

OK thank you for identifying effenhaute as a nest of older women and boomers too. smiles

I am not a member there so no love lost. There are lots of fashion and bag sites for us young women.

My statement above merely points out the obvious and something that you started with the Hello insult. I guess you forgot already but that is OK seeing you are older. smiles

One thing what I pointed out with the rude Boomer thing is something that has been discussed on message boards before so its nothing new except maybe for you. If that is the case please know that boomers are not only condescending and rude but are afflicted with Total Answerism. Not too cool.

By the way the topic of the complaint is why the OP thinks TPF is not qualified to authenticate. Please stay on topic. Thank you. smiles

You have got to be kidding. Is this a joke? You are assuming that I am old, overweight, and a member of TPF. Well, I may be middle aged, but certainly not overweight and a member of TPF. I'm a member of effenhaute forum.

"Older women such as yourself on TPF have a rude and condescending tone such as your post above. Typical of boomers..."

And your statement above isn't rude and condescending?

One more thing: I visited TPF in order to read the threads on lifestyle and fashion - the bags - not really since I buy mine from Neimans or Saks or from the manufacturers' retail site such as Mulberry or Gryson.

I do not buy bags from anyone other than an authorized retailer, and so I did not utilize the bag assessment viewpoints on TPF.
Hope this helps to clarify...

Again! to eliminate annoying symbols and because no edit function is provided, I'm making changes to my post above:

Hi takedowncounterfeiters:

To answer your question, I am a young woman and am not interested in the opinions and views of old and heavy women.

I am sure that you would recognize that what young women are interested in and what women your age are interested in are/can be quite different. We do not generally carry the same bags or wear the same fashion - its an age thing, really...

I am interested in the views and opinions of women in my age group, just like I am sure you felt when you were my age. Older women such as yourself on TPF have a rude and condescending tone such as your post above. Typical of boomers...

What does age and weight have to do with authenticating bags?

I'm reposting in order to eliminate the annoying symbols and text that appeared in my original post! I have also added a direct link to the thread I refer to.

Contrary to what TPF marketing conveys, many who post on the TV and Cinema and other TPF threads are obese women in their forties and fifties.

Reason why I know this is because on the Thintervention show thread, many of these posters admitted their age and obese weight condition, which I think was not too smart.

You can go onto that thread now and read the self-descriptors. After reading through these posts, I felt sick just knowing that these women are the ones I go out of my way to avoid in public.

I hardly ever go to TPF anymore and deleted as much as I could from my TPF account.
Unfortunately Vlad and Megs have not provided a delete account option.

Thanks for your opinion. However I must disagree. Please don't knock something unless you have tried it. It is NOT a clone of TPF because they do not overmoderate as the TPF does. Members of EHF are not in fear of being banned for expressing their feelings.

Effen Haute SUCKS! It has become a clone of TPF. Don't go there! A lot of the idiotic TPFERs has taken over EHF completely. Just look at the (insert designer's name here) Deals and Steals threads. All they ever post is their own wittle TPF friends' listings. They don't bother to look at other people's listings at all. Don't go to EHF. Unless you want another disaster like TPF.

The only difference is the admin/mods are probably more easygoing than Vlad, Skanky, and Megs. JMO.
