I had a house built by the above company.
After the house was built there was a clause in the contract that any snags would be addressed by the builder.
I had an independent inspector go over the house and submitted this report to the builder, who till now has refused to meet with me or rectify the faults found.
It has now got to the stage that he does not even respond to letters from my lawyer.

Touchstone Homes ( Walter Da Lima ) built our house in Kyalami last year. Kept every promise and exceeded all our expectations. Best builder on the block. Honest and straight as they come, , , Thanks Touchstone for our Stunning new home...
NB: (The Touchstone Homes being referred to above are based in Spain, Canada and USA. Has nothing to do with Touchstone Homes in Johannesburg).

I was very disappointed with Touchstone homes. I had a lot of issues with the workmanship and the lack of any kind of knowledge by the construction staff. They would try to repair thing a few times until I broke down and just did the repairs properly myself. One morning I woke up to the sound of the roof falling off... I went outside and 90% of my shingles were flapping in the wind. I moved in during the winter months and they hadn't put a one way vent to our kitchen exhaust or the cold room and it literally snowed inside the house. They promise top notch materials and work when you buy the house. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I agree, I live in a touchstone home, and was told that the landscaping would be corrected soon when I moved in. I have now lived here for 3 years, and there are still overgrown weeds all over the neighborhood that are taller than me. There are also unfinished areas all over the neighborhood that there have been numerous complaints on. I had a business contact when finding out where I lived, let me know that she almost put an offer on a house in the neighborhood, with a promise from the agent that landscaping would be addressed ASAP, until a neighbor saw her walking to her car and told her to not move in to the neighborhood. The neighbor said that the builders do not do what they say, and do not take care of the neighborhood or the homes. Touchstone Homes is a poor excuse for a builder in my opinion. My husband and I were the first on our street, and were "upgrading" from our old home. Our old home, which was a starter home, was built much better, and cost a lot less.
