Toscalito / Wrong assessment of problem

To whomever it may concern:

I have been a long time patron of Toscalito’s in Vallejo and have paid faithfully.
Circumstances have prompted me to cancel check number 3562 for $658.45. This letter is to explain why.

Prior to my car overheating and breaking down on Interstate 80 going to work in Oakland, I bought my car to the shop several times because I was smelling some kind of gas odor from the car for a long time. This shop failed to detect the early problems of why the coolant was leaking and odor emitted from the car. The car had been in for two oil changes prior to this and apparently they missed the problems with the radiator and head gasket that may have been there for some time. After it breaks down on November 14, I had the car towed to the shop and they said it was a cracked radiator which they replace for 658.45. This is a very high price for this type of work. But even after they fixed the radiator the temperature gauge was going to the top and fluctuating from the top to the middle range. I brought the car back again several more times and they said they could not find the problem. They said to keep an eye on it and keep bring it back. Because of the danger of over-heating, I checked with 2 other mechanics and they both determined that the head gasket is blown out causing the gauge to fluctuate up and down and this is a serious problem that will cost a lot of money to fix. There is a possibility that the radiator was not cracked and it was a blown head gasket that Toscalito’s in Vallejo failed to determine. Due to the inability to determine a serious problem after numerous visits and numerous consultations, I decided to stop payment as I will be paying another mechanic to fix the REAL problem.

I will not be patronizing Toscalito’s again. I did receive a call from David and from Tim. I did call David but feel I did not get the message to him. As for Tim, he does not speak to me as I reported him for being rude in the past. He has been condescending and unprofessional. He made fun of the way I speak as I am deaf and my speech is affected. Why would I want to talk to him? No thanks.

If I am further harassed about this problem from Toscalito’s, I will take my information to the BBB and the state auto repair organization.
