Too Lazy Alerts / cell phone texting scam

1 MI, United States Review updated:

Beware! This is a scam that requires you to "opt-out". The company texts your cell phone...and if you do not text them back to say you don't want the service, then they charge $9.99 through your cell phone bill. This happened on my Alltel cell phone. I went to the local Alltel office and complained so they removed the charge.

I actually opted out immediately and they still billed me for 4-5 months. I suppose it was my own fault for not scrutinizing my phone bill better. AT&T did refund me for the month I noticed it, but we had to eat the rest of the cost. I still have the text on my phone that proves that I discontinued the service, and this happened more than six months ago.

I've asked them ("Too Lazy") for a refund since they're obviously at fault for the unauthorized charges, but they don't respond. The research I've done turned up that they may have lawsuits against them. All I could do is report them to the BBB.
