I have used that particular salon to get a haircut at first. I have recently decided to change my hair colour and go from blond to red. I have booked myself in with the stylist I have used before in order to get a good advise and to get my hair colour changed by a "professional".

When I have told him that I fancied a change of hair colour he has not advised me that it was rather risky to change colour from blond to red as my hair was bleached before. He just went ahead with it and I have trusted his experience. The colour has turned out to be nice however it only stayed for a week. In a week, my hair has become pink and I could see blonde hair coming through the colour. I rang T&G Wilmslow and complained that no one has advised me this could happen and I didn't not expect for colour to be so dramatically different in a week. They have agreed to book me in again and redo it. After second treatment, the colour has washed out again in a week.

Once again, I rang T&G and said that I am willing to pay to get a normal hair colour back so I don't have to keep going back to there every week.

When I came in for colour correction, I asked if we could change my colour to dark blond/almost brown colour. Stylist once again agreed, and started the procedure during which I was left under "heater" for a long time where my scalp got burnt and I could feel a big blisted on the back of my head. After applying blond colour, my hair looked lifeless and dry, and most of all-the roots remained red while the rest of the hair was ash blond.

At that point, I began to worry, as I couldn't leave with hair being that colour but my skin felt really dry and sore where it was burnt. He has agreed to apply another darker colour on top. My hair at the end of treatment looked awful and now a week later colour has washed out once again and it looks absolutely dreadful.

I am very disappointed with T&G and will not be going back there again. I have paid a lot of money to have ended up with such a nasty colour and a burnt sculp. I think Tony& Guy should try to employ people with less attitude and more passion for what they do. It seemed to me that it was a big joke to the stylist and he couldn’t have cared less how I would end up looking.

When I first heard the name of your school, everyone talked well about it but I can't do the same...they completely ruined my hair because of the inexperience of the hair stylist. As soon as she started to cut, I immediately realised that she was not as good as the others and I gently asked the supervisor (kevin) if I could swap with any other student or if I could stop the cut, but he replied that I had signed a contract and so I couldn't, but that he would not let me go home with ruined hair. He was lying. If I said something, he looked annoyed. At the end he did nothing and I went home with horrible hair. I had to go to another hairstylist to save my hair. I would have cut it myself without any experience. Another thing that bothered me a lot was the receptionists' behaviour: I showed them the picture with the hairstyle I wanted (I showed it to he hairstylist too) and they told me it was the same, as if she had done a good job! They denied the obvious and wanted to treat me like a stupid... very polite... I am writing this to tell you that these misadventures occur too in your school, which could compromise its good name. Thank you for the time you dedicated to me. Have a nice day. Bartolomeo Roberto Altese

Its red hair, you need to really look after it as it washes out easily. You should tone it once a week with a tube of colour. I would be surprised if they didn't tell you that in the salon. Red hair is VERY high maintenance.

I have been to Ivan on deansgate for years and he is always bang on with his work. He tells me what suits me and what doesn't. He will only cut my hair if he feels its the right thing to do. Maybe you told him what you really wanted and he was reluctant to do it for you. I have have been to many hairdressers in the past and I have found "The One". Ivan is truly great at his job. No doubt. I will be ever grateful to him. Thank you ivan

toni and guy in Chandler mall of arizona... DO NOT let marlissa cut your hair! i had a tall mohawk, and went in for a faxhawk. she cut all the back off and then cut her finger... was gone 30 minutes. Asked other stylists for tips on how to cut my hair... she didnt even do what the girl said do. an hour later she was done hacking the back off and barely touched the top. i was done by then and just left. Hoping my redo cut tomorrow turns out a lil better...

Dear Sir,

I happen to be a Toni and Guy loyal since quite a few years now but my last experience has left me very bitter and frustrated.Im not sure if i'd like to visit Toni and Guy ever again for a haircut. My first cut with Toni&Guy dates back to 1999 when i was visiting Dubai.Besides Dubai i have had the pleasure of getting haircuts in Bangkok and London.

My experience last month on 30/3/2010 was by far the worst ever hairdressing experience i have ever had.It happened at the Toni and Guy Regent Street branch when i was left at the mercy of the style director Ms Sadaf Naseem. My appointment was for 11:20am and i had to wait a good half an hour before she arrived citing delayed trains as her excuse.I gave her the benefit of the doubt and just hoped she would make up for it by giving me a good haircut. At the time i had no clue i would get the shock of my life by the time she's done with my hair.I hated my cut and could easily call it the worst cut of my life. When i protested that i dont like the cut she gave me a dirty look and said she has spent a lot of time thinking and planning my cut and that she has another scheduled appointment. She said i will have to reschedule another appointment.I wasn't going to spend another 50 pounds on her neither did i have any time since it was my last day in London, so i just walked out in disgust.Later on i went to SANRIZZ and got another haircut for 50 pounds! I had to get my hair fixed as i was just too miserable.

I would like to appeal to the management of TONI AND GUY to give me a refund as soon as possible or atleast give me a voucher for a free haircut from any Toni and Guy outlet in London or elsewhere.

In the end i'd just like to add that SADAF NASEEM isnt fit to be a style director. She should be demoted to the stylist category as she has a lot to learn.

Regards

Hameed Moinuddin

hi ive had similar experience with red dye. didnt want permanent but told had to be. colour bright at roots very light brown elsewhere. they redid it 2 weeks later, concerned was it safe but they said so. lost hair natural curl relaxed hair now straggly. spoke to manager and... advised to go to another salon. hair will take 2 years to regrow back to its normal self . this is distressing .

second colour vivid red at roots noticably false to everyone. and subsequent hair damage.

no customer service dont think they are trained wellat all. is there anything we can do for compensation will need lots treatments to resolve this.

Janice Hill, are you really surprised that you would find more complaints than praise for ANY company on google? After all, people are rarely motivated to go to a website to leave praise. Usually, if they are making that effort, it is because they have a complaint. Further, the name of this website is COMPLAINTS board. There are several places designed specifically to give people a place to complain. When was the last time you heard of a PRAISE board? I'm 44 and yet to hear of one. So your statement that T&G have more complaints than praise on Google is worthless, really.

I'm sorry that you had a bad experience at your local T&G. My local T&G has been giving my husband and I wonderful service for several years now. We couldn't be more pleased with them. So it might be that your particular one is bad not that the entire chain is bad. Have you thought of complaining to their corporate office about your particular location?

I think the above people work for T & G, they were a good salon but since the franchise are really no better than any other salon, I know because T & G ruined my hair, to make it clear this is the Southend-On-Sea salon but if you read many of the bloggs on google you will see there are more complaints than praise!

I also strongly disagree with Mes Clarke. I have been going to the Toni and Guy in Market Harborough for some time now and I love them. I have my hair colored by one employee, my hair cut by another and styled by a third. I also require complicated up-dos every few months. The staff is always courteous and I am always very pleased with their work.

i have been going to toni&guy in Market harborough for many years now and i strongly DISAGREE with the above complaint. I have had various members of the staff do my hair and have been thoroughly pleased every time with result. To the salons defence the beauty salon above isnt part of toni&guy so im told, therefore the complaint above cannot be aimed at toni&guy as a whole.
I would strongly recomend the market harborough salon to anyone that asked for advice and think it to be the best salon in the surrounding area.
very friendly and helpful staff.

Some stylists don't care, as long as they are being paid. You have had an awful lot of services in a very small amont of time. Here in the US we have a Better Business Bureau that we can report such negligence to. I don't know if you have something similar in the UK or not, but if you do you should report this salon immediately.
