T.J. Maxx layaway

I put some items on layaway on 8/19/17 and the total amount was 138.79. On Wednesday 9/13/17 i was going to get my items off layaway, as we have 30 days, and the manager tells me that the items were pulled and returned to the floor 1 day after the start of my layaway, 8/20/17 and he did not see why. I pulled out my receipt and bank showing that money was taken our of account. I had a king size comforter set on layaway for 59.99 and I believe an associate wanted my items. This is completely unacceptable and I want a resolution. My items that were on layaway were not on the floor. I need someone to contact me.

T.J. Maxx manager poor customer relations

I was returning a brand new, never worn, tag attached pair of shoes to TJX Marshalls store in Westborough ma. I did not have receipt and only expected to receive a merchandise credit. The manager Katelyn (she would not give me her last name) said the tag placement looked questionable and said she no longer carries a similar shoe to check price so she refused to return. I have a TJX credit card and spend thousands every year. I told her I would be eliminating my card and she said "fine".
TJX, you need to train managers or have some sort of method of checking the status of valued shoppers. You also need to teach the basic principle of customer satisfaction and respect. Katelyn obviously hates her job and does not care about TJX reputation or customer satisfaction. Hire more dedicated staff and allow managers to override policy's when they encounter situations that may result in the loss of a loyal cutomer. I returned the shoes and spoke to the manager at the Bellingham store. She was surprised to hear my poor experience at westborough and suggested I make a complaint. Thank you

T.J. Maxx charged twice for an item, treated as a liar when confronting the next day

On September 9, 2017 around 7:30pm I went to the TJMaxx in Dover DE. This location is one hour away from where I live. While I was checking out, i didnt pay attention to my items being rung up since i was looking to buy some candy near the register. I usually pay attention to make sure the prices ring up correctly but this time i didn't. The final price seemed a little high but i didnt think much about it. I get home at 9:15pm (1 hour drive, left the store around 8pm), check my receipt and notice I was charged twice for my pajamas! I immediately call and the lady tells me they are getting ready to close and i should return to the store tomorrow to discuss. I tell her i dont live in the area, she says we cannot help then. You need to return for it. Okay - today September 10, 2017 around 12pm I return to the store (another 2 hrs drive total, not in my plan for this Sunday) and get attended by another girl. The girl from last night was not there. She seems reluctant to give me my money back. I show her my pajamas (a set of shirt and pants). One manager comes to help who also doesnt seem okay with it. I explain the lady yesterday maybe charged me twice because its 2 pieces, the tag shows 2 piece set and the pants dont even have a price tag, just a tag which says doesnt sell separately. A Nautica pajama set. Then another higher up comes, she looks at the receipt, brings her SKU machine, checks again, asks for my drivers license and TJX credit card. I spent 30+ minutes in there for this whole mess, treating me like i was lying. I asked if they had cameras to check, they say no need for that. After they finally agree to return my money, I also want to return an item. The item was purchased from there last night - with original tags, price tag etc didnt even try it on, just changed my mind bc of the material. All 3 act so suspicious of me, check with that SKU machine again and make me feel like a liar or thief. People around me paying attention to all this, I felt the most uncomfortable ever in a store. And in my naivety I thought they would at least apologize for charging me twice or even offer some sort of coupon or discount to make up for the mistake. I will not return to that TJMaxx and I will rethink if i even will go to another one. Do not think i will keep the TJX credit card anymore since I am clearly not appreciated as a customer and treated as a liar...

I was charged twice for a Michael Kors jacket at T.J. Maxx. The girl who rung me up was young, not friendly, and did not make eye contact. I did not notice I was overcharged until three days later when I was putting away the receipt. I went the next day (4 days later) with the receipt but I did not have the TJ Maxx tag only the Michael Kors tag. The manager told me that she will email someone (don't remember who) to make sure the item was charged twice, she made a copy of my receipt, took my contact information, and told me she would contact me when it was proven that I was charged twice for the same jacket. They did not make me feel like a liar, she was very apologetic, and it was an overall nice experience. It has been less than 24 hours since I spoke with the manager, but if I do not hear back soon I will be going back to make sure they are handling the situation.

T.J. Maxx accused of stealing and called the cops on me

It was 9:10pm when I went to TJ Maxx in Almaden plaza San Jose Ca, I purchased 3 watches and a wallet and payed on the jewelry section and then proceeded at mens section when this coordinator or supervisor named "sasha" an idian lady walked in to the phone and told to an employee to follow me which I heard and plus im the one whi she refrered too what im wearing and were am I its too obvious that its me which she cant deny it cause she admits that she have me followed anyways so this guy employee followed me wherever section I went so I got offended and let it go gave the jacket I was supposed to buy to the jewelry cashier who helped me and I said can u just gold this for me ill come back tom for it coz this guy that follows me is so annoying

So I was on my way outside I asked this guy wheres the restroom he pointed at me so I was taking a piss inside my cubicle and this guy knocked and telling with an attitude that I should take out the items that I stole and I have to pay for it which are inside my bag that felt violated cause he didnt even wait for me to finish taking a piss... so I told him your too much youre not aloowed to do this to me and I showed him my receipt and I asked for the manager, he have me the receipt and walked away so I went infront the store to the cashiers and asked for the manager it was already 15mins and store is closed but no one came to talk to me, I went upstairs talked to sasha told her why dont u talk to me and why did you have someone to follow me inside the store? I never stole anything in your store or I have no any records of stealing here in all TJ maxx stores that I went to then she told me I just told him to "keep an eye on you but I never told him to follow you eveywhere you go" I asked why? Then she just walked out on me telling me "we are closed and I have to leave the store" so they let me out of the store but I want to know the guys name so I know who to complain when I get back next day but they keep hiding him.

I have it on video specially when this manager came up to me and shuts the door not listening to me or doing her thing as a manager which didnt even asked for an apology that theyre employee messed up and violated me and accused me of stealing

So I waited outside to asked the guys name so I know who to complain but none of them talked to me which I have in video and this one skinny girl cashier cursing at me many times yelling "GET THE [censor] OUT OF HERE" 4times which cause I wont leave infront of the store till I get the guys name so I know who to complain then they keep threatning that they will call the cops and security I said go ahead im not leaving the store unless I know his first name atleast so I know who to complain in the next day

So cops came I told evrything what happened so this cop told me the managers profiling me which is not good for having me get followed inside the store and came up to me while urinating and then that I need to go cause all of the employees are scared of me thats why they cant leave. REALLY? its more than 10 of them and me with my wife only outside?... So cops told me that go home I should go complain to the corparate or file a lawsuit I felt being violated cause the manager and guy went too far... So me and wifey left and Dissapointed DISRESPECTED AND HUMILIATED w/o the manager or person in charge doing what she supposed to do asked for apology or talked to nicely instead they tried to turn the tables around that I for no reason wont leave the store and called the cops which in fact they know or Sasha know she messed up and acted they were right

I HAVE IT IN VIDEO HOW THE MANAGER PURPOSELY SHUTS THE DOOR DISRESPECTED ME IGNORED ME (thats what pisses me off)

T.J. Maxx manager's unprofessional behavior

The Manager in the TJMaxx store, Hammond, Louisiana is very unprofessional. He talks to and about an employee in a very disrespectful way. She has been with the company for 11 years and he treats her like dirt. She is a good worker, or else she would not have been with the company for that long.

Also, he talks on the radio about her when she is not there. All employees hear what he says. I find it disgusting.

Another employee recently quit because of the way he spoke to her. She is a nice, hard working lady, age 58.

It seems to me to be a case of age discrimination against these ladies.

T.J. Maxx returning a luggage I purchased

On August 21, 2107 between 10:30 - 11:47 am, I went to TJ Maxx store at Potomac Mills Outlet in Woodbridge, VA. I was trying to return a broken 30inch luggage before going back on a trip. At the counter, there was an older, look like a woman from India or middle eastern country. She did not want to service me because I was Black. Her attitude was not good and therefore she contact the manager, Ms. Rubion. Ms. Rubin did her research and did offer to give me a refund. I wish I had took the refund. I told her that I needed the 30in luggage because I was leaving the country the next day. She show me a luggage and I wish I took that one. I had IT luggage which was a bad choose because of the wheels which broken and was the reason I was return the luggage. She told me she was on the floor. I proceeded to look for luggage. I was not able to find what I was looking for and I went back to the counter. The older middle eastern lady was there and a young girl, I guess hispanic or middle eastern. I needed assistance and the older lady asked the younger girl to page the manager. The younger girl did not want to page the manager so I proceeded to look for the manager. I checked my timing and I had an appointment. Before leaving the country. I was so frustrated that I told the older woman and young girl I will not be back. It took my receipt and the luggage back with me. I will contact the company myself to see if I can get this straighten out. I called my girlfriend and told her about my experience. I told my girlfriend I am tired of these foreigners coming into the US thinking they are better than everyone else especially the Blacks. The foreigners are so rude and the younger one as well. I will contact the President of my Chapter to let her know of the treatment I experience has a Black female. This is the worst experience I have every had in a store.

T.J. Maxx in store customer service

Store:
2150 N Bellflower Blvd
Long Beach CA 90815

Thursday, August 10, 2017
12:00 noon

I went to check out and the sales associate noticed the price of one of my items was on clearance. She said she had to "check something". She made me feel very uncomfortable and when her manager came back they wouldn't honor the price as marked. There were other similar items on clearance but my specific item was marked $6 under . I decided not to purchase anything. I usually enjoy my shopping experience at TJMaxx. This visit was quite disappointing. I will not be returning.

T.J. Maxx online purchase and in store return

Being a frequent Tjmaxx shopper( online and in-store) I am deeply disappointed with my local Homegoods customer service; specifically with store manger Boykin and her lack of problem resolution ability.

1.This is about an online order being returned at my neighborhood home-goods. The item being returned had a shipping statement and was clearly within the thirty day return policy.
2. I requested that they reimburse my credit card which I had made the purchase with (tjmaxx credit card) and the store manger claimed I would have to take a store credit.
3. I refused and proceeded to call the 1800number. The manager had to be instructed through my cell phone on how to return the item to credit my TJmaxx acct.

This store happens to be my neighborhood store and on several occasions I have encountered numerous sales agents/managers that are poorly trained, lack customer service and are plain rude. I am considering closing my account. Please share my dissatisfaction with store:
Tjmaxx &Homegoods
London Square
13580 SW 120th St
Miami, Florida 33186

Perhaps, they should read my complaint and should reflect on their customer service or lack of.

Sincerely,
Janette Brito

T.J. Maxx shipping

I just tried calling Customer service and hung up after being on hold for 11.39 minutes. I placed an order on July 25, 2017 order number [protected]. The original order said 5-10 business days which yesterday August 8th marked the 10th business day and I have yet received my order. I called last week checking the status and the woman said I should receive it at the end of last week or begining of this week. Monday August 9th I received an email saying it was shipped and on that email it said standard shipping is 5-8 business days. The tracking says I will receive it at the end of the day on August 10th which makes it 12 business days and 17 days from the day I ordered. I'm extremely disappointed and upset since this is a birthday gift for my mother and her birthday is today and I still have no gift for her. I'm a very good customer to the tjmaxx stores and I will never order anything online again! I feel like this is horrible customer service and an email should've been sent out sooner letting me know it was going to be longer than the standard shipping.

T.J. Maxx an employee

I frequently shop at my local TJ Max and usually spend a decent amount of money every time I go but after my experience tonight, the ONLY way I will EVER step foot into TJ MAX is if I know discipline actions are made towards this one particular employee, I am sending you this complaint about.
Tonight my daughter and I went to TJ Max to purchase back to school clothes. I was so happy to see that 3/4 of the summer apparel had the yellow (last markdown) sale sticker on the price tag so of course I had to look for myself some shirts.
My daughter and I browsed through every rack, picked clothes out to tru on, tried the clothes on, choose the ones we wanted, and proceded to the check out.
We waited in line behind 2 other people before our turn to check out.
As the employee, Jewel R., went through our clothes I noticed she was pulling the yellow sticker off the price tag and scanning the red sticker. I asked her why was she doing that and she said the yellow sticker was not correct. I asked her how did she know that without pulling another one off the rack to compare the price and she never gave me an amswer. I told her I wanted my items scanned by the price gun that makes the sale sticker that goes on the price tag and she tells me "it doesn't work like that."
After questioning her for a couple of minutes, she finally called for assistance.
A young woman walked to where I was standing and took the shirts from Jewel and went to look for another one for price comparison.
The young woman returned and handed the clothes to Jewel for price comparison. ALL of the items were indeed marked down MORE than the red price tag that Jewel had taken upon herself to charge me.
Let me now say this is the THIRD time this employee has done this to me (in 2 years) and it will be the last! The other two times I just stood there and let her pull the red/yellow sale tag off not knowing what to say or do. But this afternoon, after watching her check out the 2 people ahead of me and NOT adjusting their merchandise price tags, I spoke up.
Several things were said by each of us to one another that should not have been said, and for that, I DO APOLOGIZE.
I understand that sometimes the items can be marked the wrong price. But ALL of this could have been avoided if she would have checked the price BEFORE taking it upon herself to peel the yellow price sticker off and charge me the red sale sticker price. I don't understand how she feels she can do this to whoever she wants.
Can you justify her doing this?... If you can, please do!

T.J. Maxx unfriendly store supervisor

Friday 8/4/17
I was in your Gilford NH store shopping purchasing several items. There was a particular item that I was purchasing that had no price tag which was realized while an associate was ringing in my purchases. The lovely Sales Associate ( Alicia) went to the department could not find a similar item came back & said how does $29.99 sound, I hesitated & she said she could get her supervisor ( Barbara) who came over & looked at me sternly right off the bat went to the department took awhile came back said 39.99 & again gave me an unfriendly look. I said "your associate told me 29.99". Barbara again was very unfriendly towards me( as if to say this was intentional) & scolded Alicia. Another Associate came along & the Supervisor( Barbara) & the other Associate went back looked & looked, meanwhile I stood ( after telling them it was the only one on the shelf)for several minutes at the register after the rest of my purchase had been rung in.I made the comment that this was not great to keep a customer waiting this long, Alicia kindly said something over her radio & Barbara insisted it should be 39.99 brought over an item to compare to which had many more features( I said that is much larger & more features then what I want to purchase .Insisting again she said this sells for 39.99. She went back again to the area & finally came back after being again unfriendly & said 26.00. I finished my purchase & on the way out Barbara walked by & gave me a dirty look.I have been shopping @ TJ Maxx for years & have never been treated this unkindly & felt I needed to submit a complaint. Thank You.

T.J. Maxx racial profiling

On Friday, August 4, 2017 I was disrespected and nearly stalked by a customer service representative by the name of "Roman" at the Wall Street branch in New York City.

He had zero expertise in shoes and made me feel uncomfortable with his persistent badgering. If he was sincerely seeking to help he would have engaged someone with expertise.

I work in the vicinity for a government entity and live an upstanding life. There was no reason for him to single me out and make me feel uncomfortable. Everyone needs employment; however, the training provided to staff should treat people with dignity and respect. I will take this as far as I need to avoid people who work hard daily feeling as I do at this very moment.

Regards,
Ms. Henry

T.J. Maxx winners location cambridge

Purchase a dress at the marshalls location in Mississauga store 0701. Brought it home and tried it on and it was too large, tags were still on it and receipt still with it, returned it the following day to the winners store on hespeler road in Cambridge. The cashier called a manager because the tag did not match the brand of the dress that was still attached. Apparently the tag Marshalls had was from a Calvin Klein dress. However, I purchased the dress for 59.99 and with the tag attached as is... the manager argued with me and was extremely in professional. I will not return to this location- a customer is not to know the coding you attach and should never be made to feel like they have tampered with an item... all I wanted to do was get a smaller size. I have a dress that apparently I over paid for and does not fit and you now have poor word of mouth and a manager that doesn't understand the first thing about customer service on the front lines.
Sincerely,
Teri scott

T.J. Maxx customer service

I shop at tj maxx at least 2 times a month. No-one ever told me about the rewards club first of all. Seems very rude not too. The guy who checked me out embarrassed me in front of all the customers. I had an e card for $25. He scanned it 4-5 times saying sorry it's invalid. I need some other payment . You have no money on this card he kept saying. I was very disappointed and upset when I finally left . After spending over $50. I went online checked my balance and what do you know I had $25 on my account. He was unprofessional and rude. I have asked a manager to email me numerous times. Still no answers. I want some compensation for the rudeness, unprofessional staff and I spend thousands of dollars every year at tj maxx. This is uncalled for

T.J. Maxx announcements in store

I was in my local TJ Maxx today (07/19/2017) and was shocked to hear an announcement in Spanish. This is a store in Northwest Florida, not Mexico! This is why this bothers me: This country has been over-run with people coming into the country illegally, many of which are from Mexico and Central America. That within itself is bad enough. It is not the responsibility of any retail business to make announcements in Spanish; it is the responsibility of anyone either visiting or residing here to learn the English language. This is also discriminatory against people from other countries who speak French, Italian, etc. I spoke with the store manager and she told me that they do this because some customers don't understand English. If you follow this logic then there should also be announcements in many other languages. The real truth is that many of the Hispanics who live here are too lazy or ignorant to learn English. American citizens should under no circumstances be expected to learn Spanish to accommodate these people; it should be the other way around!

If I were to travel to another country I would try to learn as much of the language as I could and would not expect those countries to accommodate me, particularly if I were going to be there on an extended stay or reside there permanently. It is because of store practices such as yours that they do not feel the need to learn English, just as they do not feel the need to obey our laws. I am not the only person who feels this way.

As a longtime customer of TJ Maxx I am offended by this practice! It is people like myself who are your bread and butter. You would do well to remember that. I do not plan to return to my local TJ Maxx because of this practice. I am not so naive as to believe that the loss of my business will break you, but I will also encourage my friends and acquaintances to not shop there either.

Just for the record, I have been to many stores where the predominant customer demographic is Hispanic and they look like thrift stores. I would think the average TJ Maxx shopper is a higher class than this. So, if you want to keep your Hispanic customers and drive off others then good luck.

T.J. Maxx poor employee relations

TjMaxx has terrible employee relations. Now I understand why there is such a thing over at the Preston Rd store. When something goes wrong the store manager, Deanna, lies to employees that they aren't in trouble and has them sign paperwork with out so much as a chance to look over it. She so called investigates what's going on and then fires the employees even if there is no evidence of wrong doing. And then uses the excuse that she "is just following company policy." This is a crock. She's uses her employees, especially the hard working ones, for what she can get and then tosses them out once there is a mistake with no training. She needs to learn the value of an employee and training.

T.J. Maxx one of the worst companies to work for.

I want to quit my job yet can't, while I have more education than needed to work here I also have to have a night/weekend job and after working at the Morehead City T.J.Maxx I'm completely burnt out of retail and that mainly due to management. There's a handful I work with that I have truly grown to appreciate & befriend. they work hard but also know not to let it get to them because it's not going to change and it hasn't in the 5 + years they've work there. Even this may get me wrote up or let go cause they don't want anyone talk bad about the company on social media. This mainly do to after many have quit they've wrote about how unfair the company treats their employees and the company replies with call the helpline/tip line that does nothing. Out of all the jobs I work this one has the worst turnaround rate as far as hiring. Example & this happens regularly, in one month hired over 20 people 2 of them stayed longer than their training or 90 day evaluation & only one stayed longer than 6 months after that.
Managers that put in place rules yet don't follow themselves or inforce them, well sometimes its different rules & treatments for all especially when it comes to dress code. Store policy that must be followed by Associates & Coordinators yet won't be backed up by manager. People moving up in their jobs just because they can work the hours not that they deserve the position. Then it's no wonder they don't do the job correctly because they don't know it, its a learning as ya go. while others use the power to make other do their job for them not deligate out to other. Backroom a constant fire hazard, even when those there several years has suggested ways to make it so much better. Even on the sales floor things are not kept as should customers constantly breaking things trying to move stuff to get to what they want. Yet again when you have people that don't do recovery and stocking properly or have enough people working that can actually be on the sales floor or in the back room to bring out things to stock everybody has to be on a register to help and not on the floor how can it be done correctly. New hires being trained completely differently by different people. This place doesn't go back behind people to make sure they're doing their jobs and doing it correctly. With the lack of people working and time management it's hard to do your job correctly anyway. The manager start to really bust their butts right before district manager is going to come in all even stay late or over night when the store should be ready and would if they made the people work as they should or that they are trained properly but never is. So much more But who cares about any of this as long as the store is in a tourist spot and sales/ numbers look good so the manager & above can get that good bonus.

I am a Tj Maxx employee as well and I couldn't agree with you more. Management is horrible and the worst company to work for. Like you said they only look at the convenience of the employees hours to schedule them more than the other employees who actually know what they're doing and yet do not get scheduled enough because they have other jobs or school. They treat us so unfair and it is time to speak up.

T.J. Maxx the lack of workers during shifts and the very rude attitude towards workers

For the past few weeks the employers have been really rude to the employees, I haven't seen them become rude to other employees but to myself they always are. It was my mistake one time when I came in thinking I was working on June 29th but I check my schedule once again and I was suppose to come in On June 28th which was a Wednesday, and so i talked with the MOD and she was being rude because i told her i misread my schedule, i accept that, that she is mad at me because i was stupid to not read my schedule twice.. but what upset me very much is that they NEVER gave me a call on that day i was suppose to work.. i could have came in late but at least i could do the shift, but instead, they called someone else to cover that shift and they are suppose to be on top of calling the scheduled employee first before calling someone else to cover, so on that day of the 29th when i came in and i wasn't schduled to work, I asked if she needed another employee for that day she said this, "sorry, I have so many on floor right now and i can't put you in because payroll is short so I can't put you today, make sure you check your schedule next time". after the MOD turned me down, I just walked away and didn't want to argue. Its just odd because they keep hiring people and she tells me that they are short on payroll? I dont understand why they would hire more, is it so they can put more employees to work once a week like they always do? They need to stop promoting the hiring aspect because people don't get their hours for a week and that's more like discrimination honestly.

On June 30, 2017, they had me work in the dressing room, when I came in to switch with the person at the dressing room, I saw how all the racks are full and no one was doing the go backs for womens/juniors/dresses/mens/athletics/swimwear all the department's of clothing. I struggled so much trying to figure out how I could keep the dressing room as organized as possible. But since it was a Friday, it was so busy that the racks got more full, I called out a person to do the go backs but they would ignore me whenever I do.. so I just did my job until they put me on my break. But instead of me taking my break, I just helped putting back the clothes because no one was doing it. When I was about to go on break, a customer complained about having no soap or paper towels in the bathrooms, and so I had to fix that too which held back my break.. I didn't even take my 15 minute break, I was just consciously thinking about the full racks, so I just went back out from the lounge and just put away more clothes. I'm glad that the person who covered for my break asked for an extra rack to put up the clothes. That made it a bit easy, but that rack got backed up as well, it was very frustrating because they did not schedule anyone for recovery on my shift at the dressing room from my shift 1:30pm-6:00pm and they never took a chance to call someone for recovery on my shift. When I was getting off work because my co worker took over the dressing room, one of the employers said on the walkie, call someone to do the recovery in dressing room. Which made me feel bad because they never called anyone when my shift is the busiest through out the day.

I am already planning to resign even if I have only worked for 2 months, I like working at TJ Maxx I'm not going to lie, but the way they treat me even if it's things people don't know or see it happening really makes me feel upset.. I never thought how unfriendly these employers are.. you can never see it, they just do it in regards to the job they assign an employee on. I hope this issue gets resolved because if this happened to me, I don't want other employees of TJ Maxx to go through this very bad experience with them.

Thank you for having the chance to view this message. I will provide a video on how bad the dressing room was, we aren't suppose to have cellphones with us on floor but I had to for this case. The rack by the monitor was not suppose to be there, but we needed an extra rack to hold more items.

T.J. Maxx manager

I have a complaint about a manager in the store she is secretly taking the Rae Dunn Goods going through them and selecting which she wants and then takes them when I go into the store I can't find things because she's taking them is there some way that you can put a stop to this I travel 30 minutes outside my home town to go to the store to seek for these items only to be let down and told by a former employee that she is taking the things this is very upsetting and this is an ongoing situation for many other Rae Dunn collectors all across the world can something be done to stop this maybe she needs to be babysat to stop this from happening that is nonsense and needs to be put to a stop I'm hearing stories of these employees hiding things in laundry baskets and other places in the stores for their friends to come in and get how is this fair to the consumer this is absolutely absurd and disrespectful if this keeps up I will no longer be a customer at Home Goods TJ Maxx or Marshalls
