Tire Kingdom terrible service

On June 28th, 2008 I visited the tire Kingdon store located at 4125 West 16th Avenue Hia, Fl, Invoice # [protected] and purchased a set of 4 BFG tires for a Grand Cherokee Jeep, I also purchased at the time the King Royal Tire Service and wheel alignment from Moises M Medina, total purchase was $726.23,

At the time he gave me a "Prepaid Card Offer Certificate" for a Visa Prepaid Card worth $50.00 on purchases of over $500.00 which I quickly mailed in to The Kingdom Prepaid Card Redemption Program, P O Box 2110, Carlisle, IA 50047. The forms indicated that I should receive my prepaid card within 6-8 weeks, it is now 10 weeks and I have yet to receive the prepaid card.

This is another disappointment with Tire Kingdom, since I already logged in a complaint regarding the tire balancing which took three trips to the store to have then corrected, them Mr. Medina called me to tell me that he was mailing me some coupon for a free oil change for all my inconvenience which I have yet to receive.

Tire Kingdom a flat two weeks after buying new tires

Two weeks after buying brand new tires from Tire Kingdom, I awoke to a flat. I had to go to work but my boyfriend brought the car in for me (with receipt) to check it out. They said the rims were rusted and charged him 25 dollars for "rim sealant." What bothers me is that they had a 3, 000 dollar estimate ready for me when I got the tires put on to fix the head gasket (etc) yet they neglected to inform me that rusty rims might jeopardize my new tires.

This happened today and I am heading over there after work to try and get a 25 dollar refund, but we'll see. The fact that this even happened in the first place is proof enough that they are criminals.

i'm sure if they charged you ANYTHING extra on the first service claiming to have spent extra time having to clean your rims that never seem to have had a problem before that you probably would have complained just the same. As for giving you your money back, that is just easier than having to hear your continued griping!

Update: I actually did receive the refund along with an apology from the service manager. He said that even though it isn't their technical policy to remove rust from rims when installing new tires (which sounds fishy) he says they usually do. Just wanted to let everyone know that they did attempt to correct this issue, though the entire thing was still an inconvenience.

Tire Kingdom never tightened front end after alignment - almost caused accident

What am I'm going to do... I spent over 1800.00 in tires and rims and alignment? On my way home front end started bouncing and I almost ran off the road. They forgot to tighten front end after alignment... I went to another tire kingdom to get fixed they couldn’t believe it. I was there 6 hours and they said was fixed but now it is worse than ever. Brand new tires wearing badly and still bouncing all over road. So tire kingdom what are you going to do because if its not fixed properly I will start taking all my work and personal cars and trucks some where else...

Tire Kingdom former employee

I’m a former employee from tire kingdom. I worked at the one in Pittsburgh and let me tell you something, they suck to work for. I hated working for tire kingdom. They try to get you to get service done that doesn’t need done. They will scam you into it. The pay is horrible and there cheap as ***. So I recommend you to not go there. You do more work but you get paid less money to do these jobs. As far as I’m concerned tire kingdom the worst place to work for.

Tire Kingdom Pays there Tech's Pennies compared to what they take in. For Instance, for installing 4 tires on a vehicles. They guy doing all the work from start to finish gets .50 cents per Tire, that's including the mount/balance. So they make a whopping $2.00 for that set of 4 tires to be installed. Oil Changes, we get 1.75 per oil change, that includes the inspection, tire rotation, topping off of all fluids. And I'm suppose to work with a smile on my face. General Service Tech's Make 6.40 an hour plus commission. Half the time your doing free work, or policy work and not making any more than that very low minimum wage. of 6.40. Policy Alignments, The GS tech gets paid $2.00 for re-aligning your vehicles. This is Labor, sometimes back busting! For $2.00? Tire Kingdom treats its employees like were in a sweatshop in China.
P.S. Then If we do an awesome job and the customer wishes to tip us. We're suppose to turn it down. Whats the world coming too?

As a former manager for Tire Kingdom, I can say with great confidence that the company only cares about one thing: Profit.
Sure, profit is essential to success, but you can at least attempt to make your customers and employees content. Tire Kingdom does neither. Many of the "technicians" they employ are nothing better than glorified spectators. I would guess that approximately 95% of their "A" level technicians would not qualify for a apprentice program at a dealership. This is very sad, considering they charge as much, or more than the fair labor rate at a certified dealer. They will mark up parts 300%, and will not stand behind their work. They will also "make up" labor times and clearly gouge customer's. As a manager, you can earn a decent living, but it will likely cost you your family and your health. My area director & vice president were the most obnoxious scam artists I have ever met. They will "wow" you with paid annual meetings that cost millions of dollars, yet they will find every excuse in the book to decline needed repairs to your shop that ensure that you, your staff, and your customers are safe. Christ, you even need a purchase order approved to buy office supplies. Tire Kingdom represents what is wrong with America. Shame on them!

This is not a very good complaint. I can't tell you how many times people have come into the shops that I have worked at swearing that I replaced their tires only to find out they were replaced at a competitor just down the street. Tire Plus and Tire Kingdom are just two similar examples.

If you had purchased tires from Tire Kingdom then you will have a receipt. On that receipt will be all the information about those tires. If you don't have it they can usually look it up in their computer system. If the information doesn't match then you were either sold the wrong tires or you got them somewhere else. There is also identification marks on all tires so a shop can tell how old the tire is. Most TK rotate their stocks pretty quick. Sometimes you will get one a couple of years old but rarely. It would still be under warranty anyway just like a brand new tire only 1 week old. If they were dry rot then they would probably work with you for an allowance. Sometimes they do sell out a certain run of tires and change. In that case the tire they changed to would take the place.

Your complaint sounds ridiculously vague.

Tire Kingdom customer cheat

After calling around and asking about new brakes I found what I felt was a good deal plus a Neighbor highly remmended them..they quoted me $169 and some change..so I went in the next day another guy said he heard the quote, but he could do better..he quoted me a even lower price $152 and some change and I thought great..I left my car and my Partner and I walked through a used car lot that was next door when we returned he said "I just don't know how you made it in..this is cracked and that is rusted out" and my $152 quote was suddenly $207..what he did not know is I build airplanes, I've built cars I know when my car needs work and when it doesn't.. my car only began acting up and making noises the day before so I knew he was blowing smoke..first of all had there been any cracks as he stated I would have had alot more trouble then just pulling and grinding sounds..and I told him this..then I told him I had $170 in my pocket so unless he wanted them to put my car back together and lose what money I do have he better come up with a new total...he returned and said the lowest he could go was $171.98..so basically he walked away with the last $2 I had in my pocket. (I'm serious I left there with 2 cents in my pocket..we had planned on eating with the money we thought we were saving because of his lower quote, but when we left I had two whole pennies to my name) btw when they claim something is broken, but they'll fix it for free, it means they broke it so don't fall over yourselves thanking them. I had no choice it was Sun. I needed my car the next day and he knew it..so I paid the money..the only satisfaction I have other then my car being fixed and not paying the $207, but we had at the time a bad stomach virus and did not know it..we hopefully passed it on to the scammers at this place..we wont be back so Tire Kingdom you lost a customer..we'll go to Zychs instead!

while i agree there are some guys out there who will scam you, i have one disagreement with your story here. heat cracks are a very normal thing to find on rotors, brake pads, brake shoes and drums. i am an ASE certified technician and i see these things all the time. heat cracks will not cause catastrophic failure or anything, but they are a huge concern when dealing with brakes. whether this is what he was referring to or not, i do not know. i can tell you if your brake components are cracked due to heat then that means the metal there has more than likely tempered due to that same heat. you working on aircraft and building cars should know that when you have two friction components of opposite strengths will cause the softer one to wear abnormally, which can cause a nasty brake pull in the case of automotive brake systems. its unfortunate that you feel you have been had, but you have to realize that some technicians and service managers (not saying the shop you dealt with is) are actually working because they enjoy working on cars and like to help people get their vehicles taken care of. i hope you find a shop that treats you better.

Tire Kingdom inflated charges, work not done!

I went to Tire Kingdom in Salisbury NC on 11/9/07. Wanting two new tires, All 4 wheels aligned, the brakes checked for wear and an oil change. About an hour later I got a call telling me the brakes had quite a lot of life left. I declined replacing the brake pads. I signed the document authorizing the work to be done with a $4.00 shop charge (For consumables they tell me).

Upon returning to pick up the car:

What I got was an inflated shop charge from $4.00 to $14.00. Two $20.00 charges from nowhere? Just an alignment check done nothing actually fixed. (But a full charge for a 4 wheel alignment on the bill). A single print out still indicating the car to be in need of alignment. They were unable to produce the before alignment printout. All four tires inflated to 70 psi. (I found this out after a short ride at 50 mph). I did not pay for the alignment, shop charge of $14.00 or the $40.00
We took the car to another company to have an alignment done, and sure enough his starting numbers were the same as Tire Kingdom had tried to send out the door with.

The Tire Kingdom in Palatka, Florida is dishonest, they kept my daughters' spare, and her key to her lugs when my husband took the car in for a new set of tires. As we had recently refurbished the car for our daughter and we had some finishing touches to do to the car so my husband took it in for a new set of tires. After only driving the car for just over a month, she got up on the Interstate and one of the rear tires blew out, this was not your normal blow out. The entire inside of the tire looked like it had been chewed off by a chainsaw. It was determined that after being towed, because once I arrived I could not change the tire because they kept the spare and the key to the lugs, that they did not put the correct amount of tire pressure into the tires, so the shocks were rubbing against the inside of the tires the entire time she had been driving it. They just wore a pattern into the tire, until that one just wore and burned it thru, with the heat involved from this. The other tires also have a pattern worn into them by the shocks, In the guys expertise, that fixed the tire, I had to have it towed after being up on the Interstate for half the night. I had to go back to Ocala the next day to get it fixed at the garage and pick it up. I emailed the district office, they took three days to email me back, asked for my phone number, called me and first was on the defensive then decided to tell me to take the car into the store and they would like to make this right. My husband did so and once there the manager he had him go see, did everything he could to humiliate my husband, he called him a liar you might as well say, he said he was not replacing anything, and he found a hole the size of a fountain pin hole and said this called the tire to blow and not the shocks rubbing against them for not having the right air pressure. He also told me husband that we probably were not rotating the tires and on and on. Well the last time I checked, tires had to be rotated every other oil change. The car has only been fixed for just over a month and does not have 3000 miles on it yet, has not had it's first oil change yet, the car has been totally refurbished and was sitting in my garage until just over a month ago. I called the district manager back to ascertain why did he ask me to return with the car to be humiliated and have my husbands' intelligence insulted by this guy, after all they were in the wrong. He said let me talk to him and I will call you back, I also let him know I don't have a problem with legal action. He said let me call you back, I want to make this right, he called me back took up for the manager but not his attitude, tried to change the story at times and said he would call me back. H called me back again and stated that he would make arrangements to replace the spare tire that they lost and replace the key to the lugs, I said that is not good enough you have to come better than that, you really should replace the tires altogether because they are eventually going to wear thru like the other one did, and I did not think this was to much to ask for since they were brand new. He said I just don't know if I can do that, I will have to take the weekend to think about this and I will call you back on Monday. As of yet he as not called, it is beginning another weekend starting tomorrow, and I also wrote Corporate, but they have not called me or wrote me or anything of the kind. They think I will let this go but they have another thing coming if that is what they think. Buyer beware, do not shop at any Tire Kingdom, two of my friends have had horrible experiences there as well, they will never ever shop there again. I am going to shout it to everyone who will stand still long enough to isten and they will not stay in business, if well all stand and keep filing lawsuits they will have to close their doors, and that is my mission right now. I am so sorry that I am having problems uploading this picture, because the world needs to see this. You can not treat people wrong and expect to prosper.
