I ordered 100 Classics for Relaxation (a 5-CD collection) from Time Life at the introductory price of $9.99. This meant (even if I didn't know it b/c I didn't pay attention when I ordered, but that's my fault) that I was going to receive, and be charged for, add'l CDs from the same collection regularly. Well, today I received my first "add'l CD", which, if I don't return it to Time Life, will cost me $24.99 plus S&H. Imagine how surprised I was when I realized that this "new CD" was the exact same CD as one of the original five CDs. I am not sure what's worse: If Time Life screwed up and accidentally sent me the same CD again or if Time Life does this on purpose thereby basically scamming the customer who doesn't get any additional value but is charged a hefty $25. They are either incompetent or their business practices are questionable to put it politely.

Shame on Time Life

The same thing happened to me. I ordered the exact same classical music set for my girlfriend (but for $15.98). I thought the first 'extra' shipment of CDs was a mistake, or that they forgot to send some of them the first time. So I gave those to her too. No charge *yet* on my credit card. She said it was pretty much the same music, and I thought that was odd. Then, I received a third shipment of CDs. I checked my cedit card again, and there it was - two charges for $30.98!

This is absolutely a deceitful practice by Time Life. If not illegal, then certainly unethical. My credit card charge says 'CONTINUITY/SUBSCRIPTION'. I never agreed to a subscription, and I'm mad as hell that they are automatically charging my credit card.

Wasn't Time Life a reputable company at one point? Shame on them. I will be fighting this.
