My mother, Marcella Penaloza, moved in on 3/5. She noticed that there was NO running water, the carpet was very stained, and that there was a leakage in the restroom. She filled out the form that was given to her to explain of all the problems she saw in the apartment when she moved in and gave it to the office the next morning. The next day, 3/6, I took her to buy groceries and later in the day, we both noticed that the refrigerator was NOT getting cold. We called immediatly and left a message for maintanance. The water was finally running on Monday. Today is March 12th and she still DOES NOT have hot water, the refrigerator is still NOT working (her food is beginning to spoil) and the leakage has not been fixed. We have gone to the office about 8 different times and have left 5 messages and still NO answer. Also, all day and everyday, my mom's neighbors stand around harrassing women, SMOKING WEED, and drinking alcohol. NO ONE from the office tells them anything, and the complex security instead of putting a stop to this, they stop, get off the vehicle and talks like nothing with them, why, because they are all FRIENDS... PLEASE, I need to either get my mom out of there or get these irresponsible people from the office to do what they are suppose to do. Also, we need to stop these people from doing drugs, driking and harrassing... please give me a call [protected]. Adriana Penaloza

Now, not only have I only been in this [censored] hole for 2 weeks but I already want to break my lease. When I moved in, I had 3 leaks coming from my AC; one in the bathroom, one in my bedroom and in the living room. The bathroom floor was completely flooded; I had water dripping from the ceiling in my bedroom and the 3 by 3 area that was soaking wet in the living room (all from the A/C). I also had a broken window and the nastiest carpet I've ever seen on a new move in. Everyday temperatures would reach above 90 in this wonderful Texas heat and as with the rest of you Kevin talks out of his a*s on a regular basis. I still to this day do not have a mail box key, which by the way I really don’t need because there's no door!! When I come home from work, my fridge is off because of the problems with their prehistoric breakers. When using a George Foreman grill, it again, will flip the breakers in the kitchen. No to name some “minor” things, I had roaches when I moved in, my carpet wasn’t clean by any means, there is obvious water damage on my ceiling, the apt stunk like dogs (which I don’t own.) I do however have a rabbit, which by the way maintenance referred to as “lunch.” I could go on and on about the office staff but wont waste my time on any of their raggedy [censor]. I will say this because I know it works…..CALL DALLAS CO. CODE ENFORCEMENT!!! Better yet you can submit your issue online at: http://www.dallascityhall.com/services/housing.html IT DOES WORK! The day after I submitted my complaint online, code enforcement, the Dallas Police & apt security were all at my front door and the day after that, my A/C got down to 70 degrees!! There is something that can be done and WE do have rights!! Take a look for yoursel[censored] http://www.texastenant.org/
