In March/April 2012 we rented self catering accommodation from Tickled Pink Self Catering cottage in Kleinmond, Cape Town. We were not met onsite but handed the keys on the main rd. We were told there may be an ant problem! Then they should have left some ant kill spray. What they did leave us with was UNWASHED SHEETS from the previous guests a few days before. They changed the pillow cases. There were pubic hairs and other unmentionables in the bed. It was 10pm so we threw off the bedding and slept on a blanket fully clothed! The "manager" confessed to not changing the bedding. The flies carried us away and the shower was covered in hair. Just a very crappy 2 nights covered in a blanket. ants and flies. And the comments in the guest book were very much negative. Tickled Pink... you gave Kleinmond a bad name. Next time we will stay at Betty's Bay or Onrus instead.
I hope they have thrown away the old guest book with the owner's nasty and petty remarks next to anyone's negative comment left in the book. It's the first guest book I have read where the owner remarks on the comments. It sure was entertaining reading that book though. It gave a lot of insight into the owner of the property. So, perhaps all is well now that there is a different management team.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
