Thrive Market cancellation of membership due to violation of tos?

I bought 20 X 3 packages of pork rinds. Paleo Friendly. I, and my family, are all on a LCHF WOL. We have been and have actually cured several serious medical conditions.

On the 14th of November 2017, I was advised by Thrive market that my order was cancelled.

This was because I appeared to be buying to re-sell the pork rinds. They apparently considered the "amount" to be staggering and provide them the right to assume I was some type of re-seller.

The email that was sent:

____________

Of course, I'm not, I'm a retired LAPD cop and a Full time Realtor.

I did not know there was a good return on re-selling pork rinds.

I called to complain, I was hung up on every time.

I also emailed and wanted a explanation and to get my order. BTW, I usually buy these at Whole Foods - I was attempting to only save .10 cents per package, not huge, but something...

________________

I received this email back:

Hello,

Thank you for trying out Thrive Market. We're sorry to see you go.

I have canceled your membership and processed a request to refund your membership fee in full. No further action is necessary from you, and you should see the refund in your account over the next 3-5 business days.

We hope you'll consider joining Thrive Market again in the future!

Best regards,

Thrive Market intentional scam

Please, be careful.
You have to know that once you buy their membership, they will charge you every month for this. And no, their website has no information about it, you are not warned and have no idea what to expect.
So now you know.
The amount of money is not small. It's almost sixty dollars. Every. Single. Month.
For something you bought once and maybe you're not planning to buy anything else, you'll still be charged.
That's how it works.
Cancelling this is another story, but still the same pain in the a&&.

Thrive Market unauthorized charge

I cancelled my membership months ago, I believe June or July and I was charged for the yearly subscription October 23rd. I need it refunded immediately. My email associated with the account is [protected]@gmail.com. I am absolutely furious. Clearly, this is a common occurrence and it's unacceptable. You are stealing from customers who once loved you.

My package order [protected] was not delivered. I received a notification on Monday Oct. 23 at 11:06am that my package had been delivered. It was not on my front porch, garage, or anywhere on my property and someone was home all day. I waited 3 days as your email says to and it is still not delivered. I expect this issue to be resolved as soon as possible or you will lose a customer. Thank you.

Thrive Market awful business

Is there any information about cancellation? Why is this such a huge secret?
Sent them an email asking to tell me about it - got nothing. Their website doesn't provide a service likу that. No special form, buttons and that kind of stuff. The phone number that's shown on the website is a working one, but when you call, you have to wait for hours for someone to pick up. Probably. I couldn't wait for that long.
Simply awful, guys.

Thrive Market membership

I am so unbelievably mad about Thrive Market. I canceled my membership on their website SEVERAL months back and then they charged my card for another membership on June 9th! They charged me $59.95. I canceled my membership and they are still taking money! This is absurd and unacceptable. I need my money to be refunded because I did NOT agree to this.

Thrive Market membership

I had cancelled my membership approximately 6 months ago and was assured that this would be noted on my account and that no further debit to my checking account would occur but it did today. I called them to cancel the debit and reverse it immediately but unfortunately it will take a few days for the reversal. This debit caused my checking account to drop below the account minimum which I may be charged a fee. This company cannot be trusted.

Thrive Market thrive market, nick green, christophsis pallantesis, gunnar lovelace, would not refund my money culver city california

In April of 2017 I placed an order for a product that was being offered for just shipping. On May 22nd A $60 membership fee was deducted from my checking account. I went to the Thrive Market website to find the place to contact the company to cancel my account and could only find a way to send an email to ask questions. I sent an email telling them I want my money refunded and my membership cancelled. I received an email back saying my membership was canceled and refunded in 2015 There was a phone number on the email to call, so I called to speak to customer service for clarification. Turns out I didn't realize that when I sent away for a free product last time I used my email, and this time I used the email attached to my facebook account, which is a different email. I was told that the last time they canceled my account they gave me a courtesy refund and that they could give me a six month membership and give me back half my money. I told them I didn't want half my money back, I wanted it all back and my membership canceled. I will admit I was not very nice-but the money they had deducted from my account caused my rent check to bounce and a $30 overdraft fee that I couldn't afford. Plus, now I was out $60 and as a result, $90 short for rent. When the Customer Service Rep wouldn't help me I asked to be sent to a supervisor, who basically kept repeating the same things and was unwilling to help. She told me she was the end of the line and I couldn't go above her for help. There is no contact information for Thrive on their website or pretty much anywhere else. I was able to find the names Nick Green, Gunnar Lovelace and Kate Mullen as the co founders, but no way to contact them. I just want my money back and the account canceled. They told me they had sent an email on May 15th saying they would take money from my account. I looked through even my spam folder, and while I did find some emails offering deals, there was nothing notifying me of the deduction. If I had seen one, I would have canceled earlier.

Thrive Market I don't get products

I live in England and my Master Card bill showed a Thrive Market yearly fee for £46.50. I never signed up for this and I want compensation. How in the hell did they find and do this to me? I'm going to the bank and see what I can do.

This is insane. When I try to contact them I get a page that says 406 Not Acceptable. I have never heard of Thrive Life and why would I order anything from them when I live in the UK?

I want reimbursement from this company or deletion of the £46.50.

This is an empty fee of complete nothing which I can't afford.

Thrive Market fraudulent yearly membership fee

I ordered a jar of avocado mayonnaise (which wasn't even good) in March of 2016, which was advertised as being at just the cost of shipping (which, as I remember, was probably enough to cover the product anyway). I noticed an odd charge for a yearly membership on my credit card on April 2017 and called them to inquire, not remembering who they were/what they sell. I was told that I was sent several notices of the upcoming charge. I had all my emails from them up at that time, and could see that I had NO notices -- just the "thanks for renewing your membership" on the same date as the charge. They said (upon my asking) that I was charged last year too, but agreed to refund this year's membership fee since I didn't know I was agreeing to a membership. I received an email from them saying the charge (for Order #[protected]) is to be refunded. (We'll see if it actually is added back to my credit card. If it isn't, I will be contesting the charge with my credit card.) They said that I had $40-some dollars of credit I could use, but I declined. After reading other reviews on here, I'm wondering if I had taken them up on buying $40 of products with my "credit", if they would've used that as an excuse to not refund the membership fee (saying I used the membership after purchasing it). Do not fall for the "freebies" this company offers! I was a sucker, thinking they were selling me the product at cost to try to gain new customers.

Thrive Market remove credit card information after cancellation

The website does not allow me to remove my credit card information after my account has been cancelled.
I find this suspect behavior by company that has no way to cancel your own subscription and remove credit card information.
I have called and been placed on hold regarding this failure in their business model.
After two years of trying to remove my credit card after a cancelled account. My credit card information is still there. I would like a way to remove it. The phone operator said she can't do it. Neither can I.
I want a way to obliterate my account so I can never get sales pitches from them again.
This is like a bad divorce. I can not get free even after it is OVER!

Let me tell you a little secret...pay Thrive Market (and companies like them) using an online payment company like "PayPal"...that way they don't get your credit card or banking information and if they give you s##t, you can turn to PayPal to help resolve it. Just keep track of all your conversations, emails, receipts, etc. This is a highly unprofessional company with very immature unprofessional staff answering the phones, absolutely amazed by what I'm hearing and what I dealt with today! If that doesn't work, you can appeal to your credit card company...always protect yourself...you never know what some of these companies will pull with your personal information! Close the credit card down and have the company issue you a new one. Then open a complaint against them to get your "fees & membership" charges back!

Martha, can a new credit card help? They scammed me too with a yearly fee that I just received. I live in England and have never heard of Thrive Market, and have never ordered products from them. I don't know how they got my credit card number but it is a big SCAM. I'm going to the bank tomorrow and have them advise me.

Thrive Market cancel unwanted membership

I ordered a free jar of raw honey paid shipping only however without notice on March 2, 2017 they charged my PayPal $59.95 for a years membership I never asked for. I have been trying to get a refund and they did email back assuring me the money would be returned upon cancelation of membership and gave me a link to follow. This was supposed to get me to a login page followed by a cancelation page. All I get is a shopping cart and told I can cancel at check out or when I enter my credit information. Huh? I'm not going to stop until my money is returned. Don't trust thrive market!

Thrive Market order & fraudulent membership charge

I placed an order through their site & processed it through Paypal. I saw no processing nor confirmation of this order but they certainly processed the charges immediately. Suddenly, three days later ( on a Sunday) I see another charge deducted from Paypal. It was for a supposed " membership." I never joined, authorized nor knew that it was a "membership" site nor order. This was supposed to be simply an online order.
I emailed them immediately ( minutes) and canceled the supposed unauthorized membership and the order which had not yet been processed or shipped. Today, I receive an email from "Latoya" who says that unfortunately they can't reimburse a membership fee when one has already placed an order "after " membership. WHAT ? This was a lie. If they were legitimate, there would be notification that they would love to process this order but you would need to buy a membership. ( No such notice or information) Additionally, they had no cc info from me online nor any form that authorized this. Moreover, the order was never shipped and was placed "before" their supposed membership charge. they obviously had to dig and find a way to charge you for a membership despite the fact that you didn't join.
Additionally, upon reviewing their charges and invoice on PayPal, I found that they "attach" a clause that says they can charge 'again" through Paypal. I canceled this as well immediately though I had not authorized nor ever seen this agreement or form. I will call & email, however it seems from their online reviews ( negative) BBB bad complaints etc.. they do not resolve anything.
Buyer Beware ! best bet is to try through your credit card company, PayPal etc.. and order products through another reputable site. Additionally, get the word out on Facebook or wherever so no one else is subjected to this scam.
It 's too bad, because they carry some good products but their supposed "deep" discounts are tied to tax, shipping & membership charges.

Thrive Market stay away!

I don't recommend Thrive Market because they are very slow! They charged me a shipping fee and I was supposed to get my order very fast but in realty it took them over a week to deliver.
Customer service was not able too explain why did it take so long and they also said that they were unable to refund the money I paid for shipping. They tried to be nice and even apologized, but that didn't give me anything.
I'm very disappointed that I paid my money and received such and terrible and unprofessional service. I will not buy from them in the future, because they can't even guarantee that it won't happen again. Stay away!

Thrive Market don't deal with these liars!

I have purchased something from this site Thrive Market only once. I never signed up to anything! One month later my card got charged and when I contacted Thrive Market they said that when I made my order I automatically agreed to sign up. I asked them to cancel my account and according to what they said they did that. One month later I got another charge! Called Thrive Market and they tried to assure me they cancelled my subscription a long time ago. When I asked why they took my money again they said they did not do that! Don't deal with these liars!

I was really interested in Thrive Market and signed up. I received everything in time and must say that I was very satisfied, even thought of ordering from them again. But then they charged my card!! Thrive Market order was not received

I decided to give it a try and ordered some food from Thrive Market. I really liked the idea and ordered few stuff for the first time. I received a tracking number and they said that my order was sent with UPS. About a week later I decided to contact the company regarding the status of my order and was told that my order was already delivered and received! I told them that I never received anything so there was probably a mistake. They promised to check everything. Few days later I received a message stating how happy they were that I was their customer! What? Contacted them again and received the same answer. Very poor and not trustworthy company. Never again!

Hi There,

Thrive Market, here! We're really sorry to hear that your first experience with us was not ideal! When you reached to our Member Services team regarding the status of your order, was your missing order re-shipped or did you receive a refund? We never want an issue like this to go unresolved!

We wanted to apologize for any confusion regarding our membership model, as well. Much like Costco, Netflix, or Sam's club we require a membership fee to have access to our wholesale prices. It is a once annual fee breaking down to just under $5 a month! We offer a free 30-day trial for every new member, which starts with your first Thrive purchase and will last a full month with full membership benefits. If at any point during that time, you decide you don’t want to be a Thrive member, you can cancel. If not canceled, the one-year membership commences on the 31st day! This is outlined at checkout and the information is also available on our site: https://thrivemarket.com/how-it-works

The annual membership fee of $59.95 allows us to consistently offer 25-50% discounts on all of our products. We also incorporate Thrive Gives into the annual fee, which distributes one-for-one memberships in partnership with charitable organizations who service families in need.

Again, we’re sorry you had an unpleasant experience with us. Please call us Monday-Saturday between 9am and 5pm PST at [protected], or email us at help@thrivemarket.com; We'd be happy to resolve this and address any concerns you may have,

Thrive Market - their trial had obligations, so be aware

I agreed to the membership in Thrive Market Inc. They said that it was no-obligation trial, but they asked me to pay for some of the services. When I understood that something was wrong, I emailed the owner and asked to cancel the trial. Unfortunately, they could do it only if I paid them. The whole company and their offers were lies and scam. Don’t fall for their offers and trials.
