thomas scott at 416-833-0621 / scam on kijiji ad

1 United States Review updated:

I put an ad over multiple websites including craigslist, cars.com and kijiji. Today somebody with thomas scott at [protected] replied me saying "i want to buy the car but i can only pay 200$ less. I can deliver the checque. You can call me only when checque has been cleared." Without any negotiation and test driving the car he offered to buy the car. I was reading about similar message on kijiji canada forums. Prople beaware this is a scam. This guy sends with forgery checques. Eventhough banks clear the checques they will comeback and take your money back because it's fraud money.

yes, i put a guitar on craigs list and got a reply that they wanted to buy it, could not pay the amount and worked on a negotiated price, thank god i didnt send my guitar before clearing the check, he wanted me to wait as well, but i had to mail the guitar immediatly when the check went in the bank, I took check to the bank, and i had them check it out first, cause i once got in trouble for cashing a check that was bad, they thought i was involved with the scam, so i have the checks checked, because what they do is, use a good company when u look up the company they are with, all the numbers match, but the check has been closed because of stolen checks, or they will use mulitple state routing numbers...beware... dont send the car atleast until 7-10 days when the check has cleared...which it probably wont, and to save yourself from being claimed involved, tell the teller that it was from a sale, you havent sent your item, and you want to have the check checked out, not just by calling, someone will answeer and say yes it is a good check...when it is not, have the numbers at the bottom of that check looked up...

Its not a good deal, and it is not that you can hold anyone responsible, craig list or whoever is listed, a nd they will not find out who has your car, maybe when it is registered. but i thank god everyday i didnt let that guitar go before it was checked out...cause is was an old one, gibson...
    Do beware
