TheGrantUniversity / Scam charges

1 877-207-1615Draper, UT, United States Review updated:

It was explained that I was only required to pay s/h for TheGrantUniversity CD- $1.98. No timeline was given for additional fees. This is why I agreed. I was then asked if I wanted to try the 21 free trial for a discount membership program. I had 21 days to cancel or I would be charged $17.98 and this would be deducted monthly and could be canceled at any time.

2 or 3 days later I reviewed my bank statement and found a $69.00 debit from TheGrantUniversity. I contacted the number given and I explained that nothing was said about the $69. I had written everything down and intentionally went over the amounts I would be charged with only included the $1.98 and possible $17.98 if I didn't cancel.

The rep said that the sales rep I spoke with lied to me. The rep said her records showed I ordered the cd on 11/07/08 and had seven days to review and if I didn't not cancel within the 7 days I would be charged $69. I had not even received anything from TheGrantUniversity and I just spoke with their sales rep just 2 or 3 days prior.

I told her that because of my inconvenience and being lied to that I wanted to cancel the order right then and wanted my $69 credited back to my bank acct. The rep stated she would have to call this an 'escalated' call and would have to refer the call to her manager and forwarded me to a voicemail where I left a message and haven't yet rec'd a call back.

In looking at my grant file I do have a CD that came addressed from The Grant Professor and doesn't mention anything about TheGrantUniversity on the outside of the mailer or the CD (however, the phone number is the same that was provided by the rep that lied to me).

The email notice of cancelation arrived via e mail on nov 3 stateing the order was canceled on nov 3. I discoved from my bank statement that my card was shared with another company as well. I canceled the card. But i am afraid it was to late. From what i have read there is little hope of recovering the funds. From them the disc arrive - i refused delivery / a case of cya. I ordered the CD and gave them information to charge my card for the S&H of $1.98 and it posted to my account on 10/10/08, then on 10/18/08 w/o any further conversation with them I had a charge of $69.95 . I did receive the CD but I have not opened it, nor intend to; I am sending it back refused and disputing both charges. I wouldn't trust them now for anything. Live and learn.

I was purchasing a cd that's suppose to teach you how to write and receive different grants when I logged in for the classes their never was anyone there to teach you what it was you were suppose to be learning and a few days prior to that I was charged $69.95 to my debit account so I contacted the company to find out why my account was being billed for something I never got a chance to start the course that was suppose to be given and I was told that I was going to receive a refund which that never happened and I don't know what to do.

I've been recieving phone calls from these people and similar people lately. The keep telling me it's about a form I filled out online, but I have never filled out such forms. - Everytime they call I have to go through the same song and dance with them. - I have no money issues with them because I refuse to fall into their trap, but I wish there was something I could do about these harassing phone calls.

I ORDERED THAT CD ON NOVEMBER 20TH AND WAS TOLD ONLY TO PAY $1.98 FOR S&H. WELL, WHEN I CHECKED MY ACCOUNT THERE WAS A TRANSACTION FOR $69.95. I CONTACTED THE GRANT UNIVERSITY AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I SIGNED UP FOR A FREE TRIAL AND THAT AFTER 7 DAYS I WOULD BE CHARGED $69.95. I WENT TO THIS WEBSITE TO GET HELP W/ MONEY NOT TO GIVE THEM $70. THE PEOPLE AT CUSTOMER SERVICE REFUSED TO LET ME SPEAK W/ A SUPERVISOR SAYING THAT THEY WERE NOT AVAILABLE TO SPEAK W/. I CANCELLED MY SUPPOSED MEMBERSHIP AND ALL THEY COULD SAY WAS THAT I WOULD NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR A REFUND. THE GRANT UNIVERSITY IS JUST A SORRY EXCUSE FOR A CORPORATION THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE HELPING AMERICANS IN THIS ECONOMIC TURMOIL.
