This really is the worst website!I am waiting to get my work data mailed to me since January.That is one of the requirements to get my pension from MetLife.I really would Love to get my data online but for some reason I'm getting locked out.Why they made this website so hard to navigate! I do understand with COVID things are taking longer but you can't get any info from this company either thru email or on the phone.

My employer refers their employees to The Work Number to get proof of employment. It is a simple thing to request and yet this website provides no such thing. I requested the View My Data report and received a garbage report. The report does not come in any particular order. I am confused and I am the one who worked this history. The net and gross amounts listed for pay...I have no idea where these numbers are from. They do not match my payroll numbers. Such a crappy service that I'm sure it has cost me more than I realize. This should be outlawed. It makes me sick that this can even be considered legitimate.

This is a worthless company with no reason to exist. They would not give me a statement that just verifies my employment with one company. They keep giving me the runaround. This is my own information. This company is trash. Thankfully, I was still able to access my old employers contacts

This site is awful! They were the site I was referred to go to for gathering past work history information. What a waste of time! I am BEYOND disappointed and they really are one of the many problems of dysfunctionality. I can't locate my information as it has me spend time inputing information, and it redirects me to a page that says I cannot access the information without manual form sent snail mail to the organization. Through two employers, I wasn't able to gain information I needed on past work history. Fire yourselves and pass along the information to another entity that will actually do what they say they will do. It would do a service to the world of people looking for verification.

This place must be a scam as I have been directed to them from a Modis Hr rep to only be directed back to modis for a user name and pin which they say they cant provide to me they gave me a company code but it did not work and got directed to a help line which directs me to the same website that didn't work in the first place so bottom line I cannot get the info I need for work history and Modis HR is not going to provide any help what so ever. They sold my info and no one cares enough to help with any of these companies.

Online they do not have my correct information in order to log in. I decided to call them...Nothing but robot male voice on the phone. Been on the phone for over an hour in order to receive employment verification. I called them as soon as they opened. How can their client service agents be helping other callers as the voice recording states when I should have been one of the first callers? Employment verification isn't very common so it would appear that their employees are being lazy or they really have no employees whatsoever answering phone calls. This company has a horrible track record including data breaches which I was affected by. I wouldn't be surprised if they did it on purpose. The government should take swift action against these crooks.

I have been trying to get my employment data report for 4 months now. My employer can't get this information either. This is extremely frustrating because I can not get a raise until my previous experience can be proven. Based on the years of experience I have I would be getting a few more dollars per hour. This totals out to be a couple thousand dollars that I have missed out on. If I do not receive this information within the next 2 weeks I will report this company to the better business bureau.

I applied for a refinance; as a condition of my approval, employment needed to be verified. My employer uses the worknumber for employment verification. However, when the 3rd party (refinance bank) attempted to verify employment after 20 attempts with the worknumber - my refi application was denied due to "unable to verify employment." I'm very upset with the worknumber.

I have been in CS for over 20 years, I have never dealt with so many incompetent people! You have to give everything but your blood type to get an account set up to do an employment verification. And the cost off the verification is $48.95! Then once you do receive confirmation the employee has to the same run around to get their Salary Code. After 5 hours and speaking with 4 people who of course do not speak fluent English... We finally were able to retrieve our employment verification.
I did speak with one person not very nicely and let him know that the whole system/set up at The Work Number was completely Asinine. Seriously reconsidering rejecting potential clients that are required to use The Work Number which is unfortunate for us and the consumer.

After going through the verification process (entering in all of my sensitive information under the instruction of the previous employer) I recieved an error stating that the process could not be completed, and I was kicked out of the site. Now comes the fear of my information and who has it! Equifax - my information is out there somewhere within your portal.

I called customer service, the individual on the call had an arabic accent, he was rude, and disrespectful. Would not let me ask any questions, continued to interupt me with "sir you are not listening to me, I have said it twice, you cannot do this, the employer has to" as I stated to him or tried to repeatedly; the previous employer instructed me to go on this site, enter in the code being that I was doing this for myself not for an employer, her refused to hear me and continued to cut me off until I just hung up the phone. This method must be some way for companies to save HR dollars because it does NOTHING to help employees or the people who need to verify their employment. It took me 30 minutes to set up a salary key because the flyer they provided to my employer is incorrect, the person from god knows what country could not understand why I needed to make a salary key for our mortgage lender to pull our info as if it's any of his business...this service is going to cost us getting our first home because the information it provided my mortgage lender is not accurate. The Work Number tells me to contact HR, HR tells me to contact TWN. Around and around in an idiotic circle.

First off, avoid this "service" if you are able, either as an employee or as a verifier. The company I worked for demands that anyone needing employment verification must use The Work Number. I had a potential employer tell me that they could not verify employment for me due to the cost and error ridden process provided by The Work Number. I decided to create a login at www.theworknumber. com, and create a report of my own (that I am entitled to). After receiving the report I noticed numerous errors, including information that I worked for previous employers that I did not work for. It also shows that some company requested information, and received my employment data report without my knowledge. I find this appalling that this company can sell my information without my knowledge, or at least notifying me that my information was given out. The report also lists what employees can do to dispute the information which is erroneous. The report also mentions that you can request, in writing, that your information contained in the in your file not be provided to a third party for marketing purposes. This is amazing to me that you have to go through steps to protect your information like this. It also states that you have the right to place a security alert, or security freeze on the report. It mentions that you can either do this in writing, or by going to the work number website, or by calling a toll free number. I attempted to use the website to initiate the freeze, or just contact the company through the website. There is apparently no such way to do this from the website as the report mentions. There is nothing on the site that allows an employee to contact any representative of The Work Number directly (no chat or email contact). This is misleading in the report. So I called the toll free phone number, and after speaking to a representative, he told me that I needed to call a different department. This is the number specifically mentioned in the report to call though. The representative attempted to transfer me to the department, but I received a message that my call could not be completed as dialed. This is very shoddy and deceptive. I would advise anyone who works for a company who uses this "service" to avoid using it at all, even if they company requires it.

I called my HR at a last employer to get my dates verified. I didn't get to speak to a live person, just got a recording and an 800 number.

So I called the 800 number for The Work Number. It's a 3rd party work verification company. When I got an Indian rep she was not able to verify my dates. No, you have to go to their website and log in.

I entered all my current information in to the worknumber.com website, but the system refused to send me a super secret code I needed to be able to go any further and actually get the information I needed.

The system gives a choice of text or email to send this special code to, but the choices they provided were NOT current, not the ones I just entered into their system. I was unable to received this super secret code and the system shut me out.

Wasted 20 minutes of my life.

Epic failure.

Customer service is extremely horrible. As an employer, they did not give complete information for employees. I still had to complete the verification for employees, which is redundant. If your company has a sales industry, I would not recommend you use their service to verify employee pay. When calling to verify they transfer to every department and hang up on you. Extremely poor service.

Great, I come to leave a [censored]ty review for this site and I see it has one f***ing star. I can't make a god damn PIN when it wants me to create a new one but it doesn't even offer any criteria. It say 5-16 characters and it suggests number for if you use the phone service. Well it's 5-16 f***ing characters and all number, yet ... NO GOOD. Can't wait for the rest ...

I called my employer to obtain information about me being laid off for 3 months and they gave me the work number! The information the work number provides is full of crap is doesn't give me any information about me being laid off they told me to comtact my employer so it was a back and forth thing A WASTE OF TIME ! Please fix this to where people can obtain the correct information!

I've been trying to contact the Work Number to no avail. The automated system does not take you anywhere to speak with a human being. I've left messages on the contact us page with no response. Horrible customer service! Unable to verify employment for a nursing license and unable to request the information. Please respond to your customer's request or have an option for a customer service professional to speak with!

I've been trying to get an invoiced account set up with The Work Number since JUNE 2017 and it is now Jan 2018 The Work Number is now charging 35.95 per verification via credit card, but you can get a better price if you have a direct account with them. I have never ever had this much trouble with a company. I can't believe they are still in business. NO customer service whatsoever.

On october 26, 2017 approximately 9 am I called [protected] to obtain very basic information. I simply needed to verify start and end date of a previous employer. Upon verifying my identity (20 min. Call), I was directed to their website: www.Theworknumber.Com. the website was down, it displayed this message: alert! Thank you for using the work number. Some features are temporarily down today. If you need assistance with an employee data report or salary key please call our service center at [protected] to complete your transaction. To make a long story short. The second customer service rep wasted another 40 min of my time, never provided an answer to my question. He continued to waste my time even after I asked to speak to a supervisor. Unbelievable! He is being paid to waste customers time not for providing any actual customer service.

How awful, what a nightmare! Where shall I begin... For starters, while I understand that this service may be beneficial for those global companies whom just do not have the time to do something as simple as verify employment, I believe this company to be such a scam. For starters, it costs me $35.96 per verification. The customer service is horrible and the process long and drawn out. The first time I called they required me to register, to which I did. Somehow the company I work for was displaying for them an address in Washington. I confirmed with them that we do not have an office in Washington and are not affiliated with any other organization in Washington or elsewhere for that matter. They refused to provide service to me stating that we needed to utilize this random Washington address they have. Finally after 3 days I was able to get a rep on the phone who was able to help me. I also informed him that I would only be utilizing this service one time as the hoops we must jump through to verify employment for the purposes we do with this company is just simply not worth it. He provided me with a coupon to get my first verification for free. I was very appreciative until I noticed that, they charged me! Now getting this refund has been exhausting. I e-mail their help line, they reply to call them. I call them and can not get through, or there is no option for what I am calling in for, or the customer service reps have no idea how to help. This company is a joke and I am very surprised it is utilized at all. They take money from the companies to which they are representing and turn around and take more money from the people whom need such simple information. I will never utilize this service again.
