Deceptive return policy
In radio ads, the company offers a guarantee of of improved grades or your money back. Written policy posted on web site (not seen by me before purchase over the phone) is for a 32-day money-back guarantee. However, I was told over the phone that they would take the product back unopened after the 32-day window. Return period window begins on date of order, NOT date of receipt, so you have about three weeks to try it. If you call them during the return window period, however, they attempt to convince you to give the product more time to work. Then, once the 32-day window is up, they refuse to accept any returns.
Product is overpriced and not unique. "System" they sell is the same one my son learned in public middle school, just in fancier, more colorful packaging. When I sat down with my high school sophomore and looked at the overview and instructions (which are available without opening the sealed consumable materials) we quickly recognized that it was the same system he had been taught in public school. Except that the note cards and pages are pre-printed and come in fancy colors, and have copyright logos on them.
When I attempted to have the company honor their return guarantee on the unopened materials, they refused. Since I was still being charged on my credit card, for the remaining installments, I threatened to contest the charges. I was told to go ahead and try, as they had just hired a full-time person to do nothing but fight back against customers who attempted to contest the credit card charges. This tells you where the company's priorities lie.
The Simple Way to an A is not a reputable company. If you are a desperate parent trying to help your child any way you can, you may fall victim to their advertising and marketing the way I did. Rather than pay them $373 for a notebook organizer, some note cards, note pages and a CD on how to use them, I recommend you buy unopened copies on eBay for less than half of what Simple Way to an A will charge you. Then, if it doesn't work or you child isn't interested, you won't be out so much money.

fraudulent practices and overcharges
Hear on Sirius radio...sounded like a good idea for $12.95 trial offer..good for 30 day then could return. Received after 3 1/2 weeks, looked over product and attempted to return...was told the 30 days was up and couldn't be returned. They count the first day of order as beginning the 30 day trial period, not upon receipt. Called dozens of times attempting to return to be told "we don't have record of your calling, you must provide us with phone bills showing you've called us" provided this and am now told we haven't received your fax or via mail, finally told this past time it just doesn't matter, we refuse to return. It is a simple way to scam consumers.
Exactly what happened to me.

Falsely advertised the $12.95, got a packing slip with the order for $372.75. Called immediately to return. They said I could keep it for 1 payment of $89.95. I agreed to it and it's been a nightmare since. They've billed my credit card every month...Even beyond the 4 mos. I had to cancel my credit card to stop the fraudulent billing. This company definitely fraudulent, and the lowest of the lowest. The stuff wasn't worth the paper it was printed on either. If you have not ordered from them, and want to avoid the nightmare and headache...DO NOT ORDER FROM SIMPLE WAY TO AN A!
This company has a terrible ethical code. They are more interested in pulling you in, getting you past the 30 days, charging your credit card for a full 380.00, and refusing to accept returns. There is no way you can review the product, see if it really works, wait for grades or a report card, and make a decision in 30 days. They told me that they closed my account after 40 days and sent it to "collections". They use scare tactics that "collections" are involved unless you settle the account on the phone. They couldn't charge me the full amount on the credit card that they had because I had transfered cards and closed the first one. I sent the product back at about 35-40 days since the order (now keep in mind that you don't get the product immediately, but they count the 30 days from the time of order.) They reufsed the return that was in perfect, practically unopened condition.
I think it is a big scam! The product, cards, binder, how-to videos are in no way worth over 350.00!
The complaint is acurate and the customer service representative is rude and simple does not care.
It is a scam.
We are sorry if you feel you haven't been treated fairly with our company and I would like to assist with this. If there is anyway I can review your account and see if I can assist you I would love to. Please contact me at leinati@successrules.com
However, our company A Simple Way to an A isn't a Fradulent Company. Our goal is to help children improve their grades, and give them an easier way to learn. For this reason we have a A+ rating with the BBB.
We do hold to our Return Policy, the review time frame for your 30 days isn't from when you orderd it.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you,

See Above.
I agree completely with the above. My story:
I ordered "Simple Way to an A" and due to a family illness, was unable to use the product in a timely fashion. I called the company, explaining the situation, and requested an RMA number.
They refused.
I offered a 25% (i.e. $100) "Late Return / Restocking" fee (my term, not theirs) and they refused; instead, hiring an aggressive collections agency to call me repeatedly.
Despite the lack of an RMA number, I returned the product anyway, with a letter of explanation.
The harassing collection agency calls continue.
I am now in the process of a filing a formal complaint with the State AGO office, Consumer Division, to get these folks on notice.
My recommendation: Hire a tutor; don't use this company or their product.
This above review and comment are totally accurate- I am a teacher who "fell" for this scam. Do not waste your money!
