I received bill from The Quiz Hour On CHCH. The total sum was $300 and I called my call provider and asked about that. They charged me for number, which I haven’t used. I called them and asked to explain, but they promised to return money. Scam, don’t use this call provider’s services. They are liars and scammers. Please leave comments about this company, because people should be aware when they deal with such irresponsible people.

Came across an email in my account from 2018 when I complained about this scam. I did not hear back from the TV channel, the Hamilton Spectator or the BBB. However, my cell phone provider Virgin, credited me with the money I was charged. I have always found that Virgin's Cusomer Service is second to none.
Seriously, I dont know how the CRTC still allows "scam-time" to be aired. It's really getting bad now. The puzzles are misleading and stupidly long. CHCH should be ashamed for televising this total money grab. Anyone "dumb" enough to call will learn a valuable lesson when they get their phone bill in. I agree with everyone a class action lawsuit is what Call-TV needs.
I just played tonight and won on the final game of the night which is the $100 prize plus the $9, 900 prize for the bonus. I correctly answered the question but did not get the bonus. My phone line disconnected immediately. Am I not entitled to the $100 prize? No one spoke to me to get my information. Who do I contact to get the $100 prize?
Saw this for the first time last night and knew right away that it was a SCAM. Beware anything that includes a 1-900 phone number. The host makes it seems that no one is calling in and that no one can solve an easy quiz. If you notice the final game is the big one, it is worth several thousand dollars, last night it was $10, 000... not really it was $100 plus $9, 900 if and only if you get on to solve the bonus round. Obviously people are calling in, at a minimum of $1 for each phone just for connecting to the number. So they are making thousands of dollars each quiz. Check the prize winners page on their website. There are more $30 dollar winners than those in the $1, 000 range.

Same experience here from last night Blatant scam
What type of crap scam is this? I called over a dozen times, with taped message telling me " OH, YOU'RE SO CLOSE TO BEING CONNECTED TO THE STUDIO, TRY AGAIN"...well not one single call was connected on air for over 20 minutes! So, if nobody is calling, why didn't I get through?
Huge scam going on here.
If I get billed, then CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT WILL BE FILED, naming CHCH HAMILTON, and GAMETIME CANADA
as defendants. Believe me.

I just watched the show, and the host was asking to name a Canadian city with exactly three O's. Right beside her was a paper pad that said city/town. The town of Moosonee was the first thing that came to mind. I was thinking, no ones going to think of it, because it's a small town right on James Bay.
Someone called in to name a town in Alberta, but the host said we can't accept your answer, because it's not a city. I was wondering why it said "City / Town" on the pad beside the host.
Anyways I knew there was a catch, but I wanted to see if I could get the answer. I told myself, it can't be one of the big cities or it would be obvious. Then I looked at the map, and saw that Toronto has three O's. I felt like an idiot for not figuring it out sooner.
The host was still on for about three minutes, and right when the timer stopped, someone called in with the right answer.
I first saw this show April 12th 2019 I tried to call kept getting call blocked from my LL phone and cell this is a scam.
If I get billed on any amount on either phone I will sue CHCH tv.for being willingly complicit in the scam.
I played a few weeks ago and got the right answer and received my cheque in the mail a few weeks later.
When you won, did they take your info right away to send your check ?
Or did they say they would call you back in a few days with the information?
Reason why I’m asking, is I just got through and after answering correctly they said I won $700, then someone came on the line and repeated my phone number and said that they would call me within a few days.
How is it that no one gets selected as a contestant for 5 minutes? I call and play immediately and don't get selected because they're not selecting anyone!
It's not "random" unless you pick one of the callers to play...can't just keep upping the money and ripping everyone off. That should not be legal
This IS a scam! The same with Peter Popoff..the evangelist who had “miracle water” to CURE your pain and diseases. BOTH these shows are on CHCH TV. INSTEAD OF FIRING and NOT paying your news anchors and weatherman when YOU CHCH TV claimed “bankruptcy” and changed the name of “ownership” so these employees can not sue and get their severance pay for your UNJUST firing... YOU CHCH TV are putting SCAMS on your Network. The CRTC SHOULD BE INVOLVED and FINES should be STRICTLY enforced!

I called Game TV on CHCH TV on the night of April 15th.
I had the obvious answer and because the stated prize money was high I entered several times to try and get through.
They kept upping it a hundred at a time as the girl host kept saying she was going to end it in the next few "moments" and after over ten minutes nobody had called with the correct answer.
It was obvious they were not letting calls through and sucking people in to keep calling back to be "randomly selected to get through via a computer selection process" to suck money out of people.
There were three games that night. Nobody got the first one, after over ten minutes of nobody getting through and the prize money upped slowly to about $ 6 or 700, at the very last second someone came on with the right answer.
The third and last one went up to $1, 200 and nobody got it and they kept that one going the longest, obviously to get as much suckers to keep hitting redial or pressing ! to try again to take as much as they could.
With a prize of $1, 200 they know you will try 10 or 15 times and incur the costs when nobody is getting through with the right answer.
The show has multiple complaints. CHCH Dropped the show after the Hamilton Spectator sppotlighted the scam but has picked it back up again. There is also a complaint aboout CHCH TV that was upheld by the CBSC against CHCH TV for airing the show. and still they are airing it again knowing it's a scam.
Google Game Time / CHCH TV and see everything that comes up.
Why has the CBSC not banned the show in Canada yet.
I will be contacting CHCH TV, The CBSC and the CRTC and informing the latter that CHCH TYV has been airing the show again.
Please join me in taking any action you can to have the show Banned in Canada.

Same thing happened to me. I tried to get through about 20 times. My bad! I was told that I would be charged $1.00 each time I enter. Now I get a message from them saying that they charged me $50.00 to my phone. This show is a scam! I can't believe that CHCH supports this fraudulent game show.
Game Time Canada is a total SCAM.
Why do you allow this to air when you have to know this is a scam?
When you call the number they don't even answer the phone, they say to press 1 and try again. But they DON'T tell you that is costs $1.00 every time you press 1

I fully agree that this is a SCAM. My cell phone was charged $6 for calling in. I am definitely sure that I got the correct answer and I phoned in, there was no pick up, but I was asked to push button 1 to wait in line, which I did, but then I was cut off. I was stupid to try again, and of course the same result. I was wondering how other people could not get the right answer, since the answer is pretty obvious, then I realized on the spot it is a scam. But too late. I was charged by those crooks. I could see the lady in the program was not so confident in pushing viewers again and again to pick up the phone to call. She might feel guilty in joining this scam!
The same experience last night. $8 charge. So far I have contacted my Cell Provider, CHCH, the Hamilton Spectator, and the BBB. Sure it's only $8 but I hate getting scammed. As a senior, I know others are getting scammed for a lot more. If nothing else I want the whole world to know that CHCH TV are filthy scumbags and criminals.
I've participated once in this show and it was only out of curiosity. I had came to the same conclusions as you with regards to this show being a scam. There was an article I read of a Senior being scammed out of hundreds of dollars due to this show and from his cell phone provider. I have since wrote to CHCH directly in the hopes that they might think about re-evaluating their interests in this show. It's unfortunate that this "quiz hour" show and it's producers as well as CHCH support it's cause in which they are well aware of their practices to scam out innocent people of their hard earned money. Granted that they do have official rules/regulations set in place to explain how their show works and how you can win money on it but really who will take the time to read these rules and abide by them when your first thought is based on visual aides and coming to the realization that you might have a chance. Gambling is an addiction and this clearly exploits that in the sense that it is marketed to certain people who are more vulnerable. I hope that people who view this article and it's reviews come together to fight for this show to be taken off air and to ultimately protect our assets and loved ones from falling prey to this shows influences.
