Yes this company is horrible. The plantation I worked in Watford City nd would have been nice but they need to get rid of the drama in the front office. We got let go because of two deaths back to back like I had control over that. Just trash.
I was let go at another one of their properties for what sounds like a similar reason (time off), but I have to disagree with your harsh comments. Apartment complexes are a 24 hour business, you cannot operate it smoothly with staff who take too much time off regardless of their reasoning for needing time off. Luckily for me they paid me a severance pay, bereavement and were sympathetic toward the circumstances. Though losing a job you once liked can be upsetting, I don’t find the management trashy at all. I left on good terms, hoping to be considered for a rehire.

They obviously do not care about the people that live at any of the complexs the they manage. I am a tenant of an apartment complex that MEDVE Group manages in Corpus Christi Texas and I have spoken to 3 different people there. I spoke to a Brian that called me back from Louisiana and Cassidy and a Will that are in Irving. Thats what the phone number said that came up anyway. Here is my issue... I moved in to the Saratoga Cove apartments in November last year, didn't have any problems everything was fine. But, after two or three months went by people moved in above me and I noticed they would smoke weed and the smell came in to my apartment from the vents. I didn't say anything at first. It started getting bad with the smell, horrible stench. I complained not once but more than 5 times. I even made copies of my complaints and took them to the office to have them put in my file. Needless to say not a thing has been done about the horrible smell coming in to my apartment. I have been paying almost $1, 200.00 a month to live there and my lease is up on November 10th this year, I spoke to the manager on the property ( Carolina ) last Friday about leaving early without any paying any penalties just whatever the prorated rent would be for October and Carolina said she didn't see that being a problem since she had a lot of people wanting to lease. BUT THENNNNN she calls me yesterday Sept. 25th saying she can't let me leave. I told her I had another apartment lined up and I CANNNNOOOT STAND THESE GUYS CONTINUING SMOKING WEED AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. She said " how do you know nothing has been done " my adrenaline rises I YELLED AT HER " BECAUSE THEY ARE STILL SMOKING WEED! I told her. I have called the courtesy officer several times. Carolina told me she was going to put a letter out since she courtesy officer just went out to my apartment last Sunday on the 17th of September. But again the guys were smoking this past Saturday. However, Cassidy whom I spoke to from the MEDVE Group said their apartments are not a smoke free complex and they cannot control what people do in their apartments. So she is basically telling me that Saratoga Cove Apartments allow illegal drugs in their apartments for whomever wants to live there. All that Cassidy and Brian kept telling me was that i have to finish out my lease and put up with the weed smell going in my apartment and my grandkids ( 3 yr old and a 7 month old) that come over have to put up with the horrible smell also. So now I have to get an attorney involved.

While I find that some of what you say may be true, especially about people whom worry too much about others and not enough about their jobs. I have worked in Corporate America as a manager with a prestigious firm for almost 10 years. I recently spent some time at one of the Medve Group properties. I came to know the staff working at the Arts at Jefferson Heights in Baton Rouge, LA fairly well, but their was only one employee there who actually cared about her job. She actually tried to do what was right, but consistently got shot down by the manager. So much that I believe she was ready to quit. As for tenants it's a joke. I stayed for almost 2 years and if it had not been paid for by the company I would have moved. Needles to say that no employee of our international company will be using any property owed by the Medve Group again. It is actually on our list of non-approved residencies now. I heard so many stories during my stay, and witnessed many first hand. At this particular facility management is a joke. I have never seen customers treated so ludicrously. Yes they are tenants but also customers.

Everyone that posted a comment seems to be a disgruntled former employee. Not uncommon. Usually when someone sucks at their job and gets fired, they lash out at the company that so generously gave them an opportunity and employed them despite their level of incompetence. Why didn't you leave before you got fired? Most employees LOVE their company while they're employed and then all of a sudden run around bad-mouthing it when they get fired. It is very typical for an employee to not be a good fit for a company just as a company can not be a good fit for an employee. Why do the details matter? Jake Medve built his company from the ground up so of course he wants nothing but the best on his staff. No one guarantees employment for life when you're hired. You have to earn it. To the ones talking about "growing testicles", "backstabbers" and "two-faced" employees: GROW UP. Maybe that's why you got fired. You sound like you should be on Judge Judy or Jerry Springer. This is the real world. It's full of disappointments and you are entitled to NOTHING until you earn it. The Medve Group has impressive tenure across the board. There are Property Managers, Leasing Agents, Maintenance Techs & Corporate staff have been with the company for 10-20+ years. I would be willing to go out on a limb and bet half of you are still unemployed. Good luck finding a perfect employer! :)
This is a bad company . I have seen a property manager on their property threaten to hve a seventy year old lady escorted of the property because she wasn't happy with the property manager chris Elliott talking to her like she was his child . This same property manager told this lady she cant have her daughter come over because he don't like her boyfriend. Hes threatened her daughter and her the seventy year old lady . Chris told her he will evict her if her daughter comes over . The daughter comes to help her mother but chris said nobody can be there with her . Which to me is wrong that's her family ...Where do this guy get off telling this lady she cant have her family around? Besides that he need to takecare of the rat problem they have . The health department was called and all nothing was done. But the property manager has time to harass old ladies with the police he has working the detail and all. This property manager is a BULLY and thinks he above the law!

after working for the company for 8 months i was brought in by jakes little helper that thinks hes hot stuff and fired me for everything that i never did. the cashier i would be a relief for on the weekends made up so many lies to get me fired and would make sure my paperwork was done wrong so she could keep her job .thank god she was eventually fired i hated her ! i tried my best to make myself look good so i wouldnt be fired and i would go out of my way to make the place look good and clean so jake could come in and see a clean office and leave happy but that apparently is hard to do . through working there and hearing how dirty he is to people is beyond sad i dont see how the company functions with him not there .he complains about anything and everything and watches the cameras on a daily basis.i hated working there and i dont recommend it to anyone...

Their whole accounting department is full of immature individuals that are big babies.. the guys act like girls they gossip way too much, and the women are so jelous and evious that they gossip about each other most of the time, but one in particular she is such a hipocrate two face that talks about EVERYONE to EVERYBODY and makes herself look so innocent. She likes all the attention and I think she is the rotten apple in that company. She got a co-worker fired and now she says that she is so bored that she keeps her big nose all over the place. Karma will come back and get you watch along with the other ones in your little group, so stupid for believing in her...

They need to grow some testicles and let people know the reason they are fired instead of using the lame excuse of "you were not a good fit" Also how dare can your own manager tell you that when she herself hated the duties of that same department, so know who is not the good fit? Don't ever work for this company it is full of backstabbing hipocrates. They do not care about people and just like they hire you they will fire you!. Their whole management group is not professional they are all a whole bunch of incompetents that play politics to get where they want to be. I am not sure if Jake Medve knows what his little accounting team is all about but they also treat people very unprofessional full of envy and jelousy and like to set new people up for failure. They do this intentionally and that is why they have a high turnover. Stay away and do not waste your time and life to something that is not worth it. There are a lot of wonderful companies out there that do care about their employess and are structured and follow policies and procedures instead of stepping over someone to get to where they want to be or firing people without reason. Sounds awful but its true. I went thru all this and it was actually a complement that they let me go. A whole bunch of messy people!

Yeah this company is involved in lots of terrible activities. Everyday at their company is like a day down in the coal mines. I'm sure working for this company has taken at least 25 years off of my life...I'm not even exaggerating. One thing I do like about the company is that to show us their appreciation they would order us a pizza. It was pretty awesome. Once part of the building fell down on top of me and my head got jacked up and then they made me drink a whole 10 pack of Mexican beers. I felt sick and threw up on the bosses shirt then he fired me. So yeah it was all their fault and tried to make it sound like they were doing me a big favor all the time by allowing me to serve them. Oh well...maybe one day I can be just like Jake Medve and be cool.
