Supposedly i took a payday loan at the beginning of 2007. They cant or wont show me the agreement. So xmas was rough and i got another payday loan in dec from another co. The loan shop was somehow able to get that information and tried to pull $300 from my account. I called and made arrangements with their rep. Money gram payments. I made my first payment. They still tried to pull from my account. Cost me an nsf. I talked to the rep again, he said oops our mistake, wont happen again.

The day im supposed to make the next payment they pull AGAIN for $150 this time. Takes me 3 days to get a hold of them. I ask for his supervisor. Very rude *word i cant say*! Said her rep shouldn't have made those arrangements. Not my problem, im following what he said!!

It goes downhill from there with her calling us low lives and bums. I have actually contacted a lawyer, don't know if it will do any good though, I am also calling the BBB and the attorney generals office. I will acknowledge that i owe the money if they would email the agreement. The point here is their reps will say whatever they think they need to to get you to send them money any way they can get it.

This happened to me, but I was lucky. Neither time did I have the $250 in my account that they tried to take out and my bank reversed the NSF charge.

If you have ever taken a loan with Personal Payday Loans, My Cash Now, I Paydaylending, Cash-in-1 hour, www.mycash you may be at risk for this fraudulent company preying on you. Or if you ever had a loan with one of these companies and is not current you are also at risk.

They also break into confidential information filled out to other payday lenders and get into your account.

Immediately, stop payment on anything coming in from Loanship/Westbury; Westbury or Westbury Ventures.

I closed my account and opened a new one and have never given the new info to any online payday lenders.

I am currently having the same problems with these people. I received a phone call from princeton harris at westbury ventures and have consulted with an attorney. He said this is definately class action however we have to go to court as a community with people having the same problems. I am very well interested. My attorney is David P. Leibowitz one of the top ten attorneys in the state of Illinois my hometown and he will also be working with two other lawyers. I am also filing charges against my bank for not putting a stop to the payments and he is very interested in this case (good thing) please reply back to me anyone interested in filing this suit. Your response to this forum will be directly emailed to me. Lets begin the process now by involving as many people as possible.

Loan Shop Westbury - Fraudulent activity in my bank!
Loan Shop Westbury
United States

When I went to the bank this morning I was negative 390 dollars from a company called Loan Shop Westbury. I never authorized them to take any money from my bank or ever borrowed from them. I was charged two NSF because a check that was supposed to be covered also bounced.

I am also having a problem with The Loan Shop, they are harrassing me about a loan taken out in September, '07 that I did not take out. The Bank they originally told me the account was at does not have a branch, or any type of location within 300 miles of me. The account number they stated they deposited the money into does not match any of my account numbers. Then they switched gears and told me it was a different bank in my town, and that they must have switched names. Well Fifth Third Bank (yes) that is a real bank name, whom they said I had the account with just switched over from being Crown Bank. The person I talked to gave the banks change names all the time speel. Anyway, the first rep. that called me violated several consumer protection act regulations regarding collections including foul language and threats. When I advised him not to ever call me back at work he made another inappropriate remark and said "I 'll talk to you tomorrow!" There are quite a few details to the information they have in their file on me that are not correct, or very, very, outdated. I asked to see a copy of an agreement with my name and signature on it and was refused. I asked to see the copy of my drivers license that they used to verify identity-surprise-they don't obtain any proof of identity. I don't know how these organizations work, but surely they would have some type of written contract and identification verification procedures. Apparently they either have none, or are a group of people that are very good at stealing identities, and then either creating these loans for personal gain, if the loan was ever actually dispursed, or professional scam artists who use stolen identity information to try and get people to pay debts that they don't actually owe. First it was the collection agencies purporting these types of scams, the bad guys seem to have branched out into this new arena since the traditional scams don't work as well any more. I have tried to call them several times and have sat on hold, cut off twice while the rep. stated he was going to create a 3-way conference call with the bank, etc.
Bottom line folks, if you see or hear from this group in any way contact your local better business bureau. Don't take out these types of predatory loans, they really don't help people in the long run and are giving identity theft criminals an entirely new group of unsuspecting people to prey upon. If anyone does start a class action suit please contact me and I will join and help in any way I can.

I have had similiar problems with these people. They first tried this to me in Oct 2007, my bank at the time, Wells Fargo, reversed all fees. When I called this company, everyone was rude to me, and no one would provide me with a copy of my debt. They claim that I had a bad payday loan from 2005 drawn on a US Bank account. Wells Fargo told me that even if that's true, they can't take out of the Wells Fargo acocunt, becuase I never gave them permission. A month ago I got a letter from mycash.com stating I was eligible for a loan. I was in a tight spot, and filled it out, after I submitted my info I realize dit was a payday loan and backed out. Checked my acocunt today and they did it again, I am with a credit union, and don't expect any hassles in getting it reversed. My understanding from several bankers is as long as you never gave them permission to debit your bank account they can't. The only exception to this is if the loan was drawn off you current bank. FYI this company has been banned from doing business in Ca because of their illegal collections practices. I have already reported them to the Utah State Attorney General and plan to do so again

I had a problem with the "The Loan Shop". I applied for the loan and was contacted by them by phone and was told I was approved for a $200 loan. I declined the loan but I found out later that they deposited the money anyhow. Since I never balanced out my account I had no idea they had done so. Well, when they took the first payment, it overdrafted my account. I had no idea who they where, as it was a month or more later. It took me over 2 weeeks to contact them. I had no objections to paying them back but they agreed to accept only the $200. This deal cost me 3 nsf charges I did pay $180. They were also to sent me a letter of applogy and I then was to pay last 20. They never sent letter so I never paid that $20. They have no confirmation of acceptance of the loan. What so I do? It's only $20 but there is principle involved.

I too, had a similar experience with THE LOAN SHOP. After signing up for a $100 loan to help cover gas expenses on my honeymoon, I was pretty much at ease knowing I'd repay the loan with little or no problems. The loan, totalling $100, was not very much money, but after having exhausted most of our cash on the wedding, it seemed like a good idea. Soon after however, I began to notice sporadic debits from my checking account which quickly took it into the negative. Before I could remit payment on the loan, something terrible happened, It appears that THE LOAN SHOP then began making excessive attempts to collect payments from my checking account, sometimes 3 or more attempts in (1) day. It became apparent to me that this was to become a game at which I would not come out on top . A few dollars in NSF fees quickly became a a couple of hundred, a couple of hundred dollars ultimately became $479. I finally decided to pay the loan in full and called to get specific details on how to remit the payment. After making the payment, I phoned the company to pass along the control number, a tracking number generated by MONEYGRAM that serves as proof of payment. I was told that it would take (3) days for the payment to post and the account would remain active until then. I was disturbed to find that THE LOAN SHOP made (3) more attempts to collect payments on the account even when the loan was paid in full. The end result, a closed account with Bank of America. I would jump at the slightest chance to assure that they do not get a chance to do this to anyone else.

I took out a $ 300 loan with THE LOAN SHOP in October under my husaband name with his permission. In Jan/Feb my husand hurt is arm and money was tight. I called the company and explained the situation. I asked what the pay-off would be and if I could possible make that in two payment if I couldn't make the full amount. She agreed. The first payment came out before my direct deposit hit the bank and was returned. I call the company asked for an address then and told them I was mailing a money order. I sent the money order at the beginning of March. I opened another account and didn't pay much attention to the other account. They still have been trying to draft payments for the account, thank goodness my bank reversed the NSF fees and we now have frozen the account. I was contacted today Sept. 4th and told I had a balance over 1, 000. I explained to the rep I mailed the money order and assumed the account was paid in full. He stated there isn't an address to mail anything and don't accept money orders. I haven't received the money order back and since I mailed it in March thought everything was fine and threw my receipt away. He stated they don't have the money order and I need to pay the 1, ooo by the end of the month or they would take extreme action against me but won't say what. I need advice because I don't have $1, ooo to give him in a months time. HELP

This company has taken money out of my account, $390. I told them I never received the money. I told them I have had some fraudulant activity, but they didn't care. I even told them I filed with the Federal Trade Commission, again they didn't care. They said it didn't matter who received their Loan, it would still be my responsibility to repay them back, since it was under my name. They were not willing to work with me, all they did was yell at me and said "So what, you still have to pay whether you or someone else had received the loan." The name of the company is "The Loan Shop or TheLoanShop.com." This company uses scare tactics to make you pay for what you didn't receive. This company seriously needs to be investigated. I wouldn't doubt that "The Loan Shop" is one of those companies that make their Insurance company or the Federal Governement believe that they issued loans to people in order to receive insurance money or to request Federal funding, since thier so-called loans were not paid back. The only option I guess I have is to call my Lawyer, maybe then they'll back off, but I doubt it. All I can hope for is for someone in the Federal Government, like the IRS, to investigate the company and how they operate their business. Since, it appears that the BBB, the US Govern., or the IRS could care less about the people this company is trying to scam.

I applied today for a payday loan. I have done this many times and have not had a problem. I spoke with someone and they told me I was approved and that my funds would be in my bank tomorrow. Three hours later I get a call from someone at "The Loan Shop" saying they were verifying my address and social for a loan. I told her that I had already been approved for a payday loan and she said "well your application went out to severl lenders". Then she wanted to verify my bank information but stated the wrong bank name as the bank I use had changed names 3 years ago . . . I knew this had to be some kind of scam so I asked her name and number and hung up. Now I am afraid that they are going to pull money out of my account! What can I do? We just moved and my bank is 3 hours away!

I took out a loan with the loan shop about a year ago. They we're suposed to debit my account my next payday for $100 dollars. Instead they debited my account several times for $30 dollars each time they went on to do this about six times. and I couldn't contact them with the 1-800 number that was suposed to be customer service. Now someone is calling me stating that I owe for a loan that was more than paid for even tho I tried to resolve this matter over several months. What should I do? I didn't ask for an extension I just wanted the one time debit i had to close out my account because of them.

Oh my goodness. I was on Wefixmoney.com and filled out a loan application where they send that infor to several loan companies. I have since changed my mind so I did not contact any of the loan companies supplied. TheLoanShop has left me a message on my work and cell to verify information. I fear I may have gotten myself into something I can't afford here. How do I keep from being a victim of theirs?

I have gotten myself into a huge mess. I borrowed $200 from the Loan Shop, they told me that if i pay it back all in full on the next payday, i pay a one time fee of $60 and I back $260, or if I chose installments, I pay a fee of $120 while i pay it in installements. So I agreed, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION!!! Since they throw out the $60 as a one time fee for lump sum payment or a $120 fee for installements, they TRICK YOU INTO BELIEVING THAT THE $120 IS A ONE TIME FEE ALSO!!! But its not, if you don't pay anything over the $120, you still have a remaining balance. For example, they took out for installements of $120 each totalling $480. After the fourth time, i called to let them know they took out an additonal payment i didnt authorize. This is when i find out about this rip off. They are very ambiguous with their wording to have you believing one thing and its something false. PLEASE DON'T DO IT!!! THEY ARE A RIP OFF. I can't beleive RUSS PARR is promoting something like this to their community. This is him poisonsing your own listening audience preying on peoples troubles. THE TIME IS NOW TO

In California, they are officially illegal. Just go to the Department of Corporations website and see the desist and refrain order that was sent to them in July of 2007. Since they are illegal in California, if you are in California, you don't even need to pay back the principle (the law says they can't collect ANYTHING)...e-mail me at me@rodneymcguire.com for more information.
