Horizon Gold / Horizon Card Services not a credit card at all

this cardwas not the "credit card" that I expected. I was looking for an actual credit card that would allow me to make purchases and pay bills online with Visa/Mastercard merchants. I called to cancel the card only to be given the 3rd degree. After speaking with a supervisor, I got the account cancelled. However, I was only refunded $19.95 instead of the $29.95 that I initially paid. I was advised that since I applied on 10/1/08 and the card was processed on 10/03/08, I had access to their website and will incur a $10 cancellation fee. It is definately unfortunate that I am penalized $10 for a card that I do not want nor do I care to use. It makes me wonder just how many unsatisfied customers have been penalized $10 for cancelling. Horizon never has to sell a single item if they are issuing thousands of cards and charging $10 to consumers who will surely cancel. i think I might be in the wrong line of work.

Please cancel my membership immediately and stop charging me monthly sevice fee. I am also demanding refund of my previous service fee as I was made to believe that it is a credit card when in fact it is not. Your product is misleading the public and must be stop immediately.

Horizon Gold / Horizon Card Services fraudulant credit card company

Attempt to de-fraud: I was mis led into believing I was purchasing the priviledge of a $500.00 unsecured credit card and for addition costs I would have other services to include roadside protection, advice from a legal network, discounts on a Rx plan, and services from Equifax for a credit report.
Fortunately I called the minute I received my "card" though not in time to get all my money refunded. The statement Michael employee #211 gave me is that no where does it read it's not a major credit card. My complaint on intent to defraud is that it also doesn't read www.thehorizonout.com any where. Because if it had I would have realized it's like the other on-line stores and I would not have been fooled. This is just my first stop I intend to report this to the attorney general here in Michigan.

They told me it was a credit card wgen I first apply took me some time I talk to others that went for it and when they found out you can order from them on line tyey demanded they money back and I want mines back too

I read your article and pleased to know that people are complaining about this company, they are so fake and false advertising...they are such ripoffs, take people s money fast and don't care to even refund as quick as they took your money...I been ripoff for activation, service etc..approximately 180.00 from my bank account and when contacted them they give you the ring around the roses trip...

Horizon Gold / Horizon Card Services misleading credit card company

The horizon gold credit card company had me to be believe that I was getting a credit card! But did not inform me before hand that with the credit card I would only be able to use it online at a outlet store that is made up by them purchaing cheap flea market merchandise. Also they have taken money from my account and i have not puchased anything from the website. I will be calling the company to have the account cancelled and to make an complaint immediatly.

I was so disappointed when I found out this was not an actual credit card. I called [protected] & spoke to a so-called supervisor. I told her to cancel my card. She said she was canceling it & gave me a confirmation number. My activation fee was $29. They told me that I will be refunded $21.96 of my $29. I'm not going to hold my breath. I will probably never get it back. I have a net first platinum card and nowhere on their contract does it states that you will be charged $19.95 a month. I see how this company can be beneficial by reporting positive info to the credit bureaus each month.

I am here to complain about horizon gold card. I started to fill out the application and then stopped because i don't want the card. I started receiveing phone calls from horizon as to why i did notfinish filling out the information and that the card was worth the cost and all that garbage. I responded that i did not want to go through with the process and to please leave me alone and do not call me again. I started receiving phone calls from [protected] @ 8:32 in the morning.At 9:03 they callled again except that now no one says anything and then hangs up.This same process is done again at 9:11, 10:47, 11:52 12:36, 1:29 and a couple more times this afternoon..Please stop these childish tactics or my lawyer will intervene and we will sue for harressment.

this is a ### site. me and my sister went to establish our credit so we saw this advertisement and wanted to apply, when we saw hat there was no credit check and that it was a credit card we applied.
later we noticed that it has no visa or mastercard logo, that we should have looked at before but didnt.
they told us it was a credit card and they lied. because my mom called and they told her it was a credit card.
###en LIARS!

get your money back noww and dont apply for that card!

this is not what i thought it was. they make it sound like you are getting a real credit card. but, it is not. you can only use it on there website. They have junk as products. I want my money back. when line and applyed ffor a credit card i thought and got taken and scamed all i got was online shoppind credit line the are misleading people and not giving them what they appled for so i want my credit card that i paided for

Your company is very deceitfull. The postcard I recieved said I was pre approved for a $5oo. Unsecured horizon gold credit card. It didn't say anything about having to join a distribution club, or to buy from your club. But you made sure you took $29.00 dollars from my account! Thats when I found out that it was a socalled membership. As soon as I seen that you took the moneys out of my account that, s when I realized your scam. As of today you have not withdrawn the charge! It also stated that I would not be billed until the first month billing. I didn't contact the bbb yet! Please straighten this situation out. Thankyou

i am so annoyed! i orederd the free trial for $3 and it took over 2 weeks to arrive at that time my bank rang me and said a payment was taken out on nearly £50 which i did not authorise. i got the same number to ring as some people said they have and its just fake. i tried the online chat and they werent even helping just seemed like i was talking to a machine.
i want my money bank and am scared that they might take out further payments

i also got a postcard in the mail, once i realized what it was i didnt want, now a week later they have without my permission took money 30 dollars out of my visa account, which was money i needed, i cant get a hold of anyone phone is busy always.this is a horrible thing to do to people especially when we are all struggling to survive, i hope your happy horizon crappy card for taking food away from my kids...would REALLY LIKE MY MONEY, MY POINT MY MONEY NOT YOURS NEVER AUTHORIZED YOU TAKE MY MONEY...

Oh I just got scammed by them to. I filed a complaint with the better business bureau and canceled my membership with them.I got the card took about 20 days when it was said to be five on the card I got in the mail offering this card. When I called the first time I was told that I had 30 days to cancel but was not told it was on a prorated basis. When I got the card checked out the website all the nice products were temporarily out of stock GO FIGURE! I called canceled the card requested refund like I was told I could get the first time I called in and she said yes u can get a refund but u are past that point you actually would owe us 6.00 dollars for the maintenance fee. which I have no idea why since I just received the card today. I am hoping that the BBB will be able to do something about this company and taking peoples money. If you get caught in this I would go to the Better Business Bureau's website and do a complaint about the company the more complaints the more that the BBB will step in.

They literally just charged me $30 for signing up. Me, not realizing they were a scam, went thru with it. To add salt to my wound, I have rent to pay and now do not have enough thanks to my stupidity and this ******* "company". Im on the verge of tears. I cannot believe this. I'm going to the BBB and I will keep reporting until something is done because this isnt cool. :(

I checked my credit report today feb15th2016 I was charged or reported in ha bcc ing a account with horzion card service but I have never reciebef a card. And I do not want one. I need this a count closed. Or canceled.it said it was opened in dec2015. Thanks Margaret brown.

So I had already read the horrible reviews of Horizon's Outlet card. But my curiousity got the best of me. WHY couldn't I just see what this company sold without signing up? Why hadn't anybody written anything about what they sell? So, I became a cardholder for about five minutes before I cancelled. I took about two minutes browsing the site before I called to cancel, and even though they boast that cancellation is easy and takes less than a minute, I spent almost 20 minutes on the phone declining my credit line increase to $1000, and having my monthly fee reduced from $24.95 to $6.95. They also offered an $80 voucher. Once I finally got them to agree to a refund, they were only going to refund 60% of my $29.95 fee, saying this was prorated for the length of time I'd been a member. Well, I'd literally had the card in hand five minutes and told them I would not accept anything less than full refund, as their slow mailing process is not my problem. Anyway, as far as what they sell: cheap clothing, shoes, and jewelry, of Dollar General quality, along with various overpriced household items like a single electric burner and cheap coffee makers. Nothing, I repeat NOTHING on there is worth the exorbitant fees they charge. THEY DO NOT SELL ANY ELECTRONICS WHATSOEVER. Thank you all for warning me about this bogus company! It seemed fishy when I couldn't preview their merchandise without joining, so checked them out and found all of the people who have written in and been scammed! So sorry you all have had to go through this. I'm thankful you have warned us, the hard-working people who have low credit scores due to job loss, work injuries, and just the stuff that happens to us in this time in our economy that has screwed up so many of us who had great credit, worked hard, and still lost the game. FICO sucks and is so unfair, I wish they'd change the whole credit system!

I fell for this scam. Knowing "If it sounds to good to be true it is." I am trying to rebuild my credit and this sounds like a great way to do it, UNTIL you try to use the website to shop. It is not there. So be ware of "sounds to good." Sharon

I was dumb enough to fall for it too. It said I would get a credit card not a line of credit for some crappy e-mall. Only I really got scammed as it said it was required to have a registered Debit card which I assumed was to verify age and identity but they just took money out of my account. I will be contesting the charge tomorrow. There was no fine print until after the fact.

Horizon Gold / Horizon Card Services unsecured credit card

Received today in the mail apostcard said i was preapproved for a credit card unsecured for $500.00. I came home from work went on the website to give my preapproved number. Needless to say before i went any further i went to read the terms and conditions. They want either a debit card or a credit card with my name on it. I already fell for this stupid ### scam. I already have the same card but my so called credit limit is for yes $7, 500.00 dollars. I can't get my money back that they took out of my checking account and i have had my debit card canceled and had to get a new one plus change my pin number. I've tried to look for merchandise to see what they have, i can't believe the prices. How is the company allowed to stay in business?

i have call the 1800 number at lease 5 times. i have not receice my card only the benifit card. it as been 7 weeks. if this card is fake, or not in good use any more please notafey me by e-mail . so please let me know what going on with this card... or fedex. a true card with this matter. are i will go father with this. thank you mr. doyle

I got this postcard today and I went online to get it and they ask for my debit card number and I gave them one that was not any good and they told me to use another card. I knew right then that it was a scam, so I tore up my postcard. Thank all of you for your comments.

I received the same post card also but before I decided to try to enroll, I was looking for the terms and conditions before I would send any of my info. Couldn't find it. SO... there's a tip for you. If you can't read the terms and conditions or if they don't have any, don't waste your time. Also the Privacy Policy is bull****! They share your info with other scams.

This is a scam, they sent me the same damm postcard in the mail from Horizon Gold. I went on online to see about the offer, and they said you need a credit card or a debt card. See with these kind of offers they don't tell you everything until you see for yourself. I knew this mess was false information. Company's like this should be reported. I mean you offered me the damm card why do I have to give you my credit card number or debit number are you crazy.

Horizon Gold / Horizon Card Services cancellation

I thought this was a M/C or Visa but found out it was not. Tried to cancel and get my $29.95 but after making a call and thinking the acct was canceled, the next month I was chgd $19.95. When I called the Company once again, they told me they gave me $50.00 credit, instead of canceling. There is nothing on their site I want or could use and if I did I would purchase it elsewhere. After arguing w/the rep and supervisor they finally agreed to cancel my acct., but would not give back any fees. Have reported them to the PA Atty General, HG needs to have their business lic. revoked for their unethical practices.

Horizon Gold / Horizon Card Services company refuses to cancel card. slandered by one of the employees

I applied for what I thought was a visa or mastercard. After receiving the card from horizon, I realized it wasn't an ordinary credit card that could be used anywhere and everywhere. I was charged $89 for something that is worthless to me. I've made two attempts to terminate the card, but horizon refuses to do it. My last attempt I made, the women I was speaking with became smart with me and outright called me ignorant. I want to cancel the card and have all money they withdrew from my bank account returned. Also, if horizon keeps any records of communication from clients, i'd like for them to terminate the woman who slandered me. Thank you

I opened acct in aug of 2017, also i believed that it would improve my credit and all it did was mess it all up charges have continued to be debt from my acct after i called and canceled it. Also a cr was promised for 2 months, which it never happened. In turn they debt the next mo again. of 14.95. In my opinion they stole from my acct. They deducted without authorization and the site in which it was obtained on was aol, AND YOU CANT GET TO THE SITE AT ALL. Unless you use another search engine. The employee you get when calling are rude and not willing to take a complaint or even get to a manager to help, unless you get real pushy. Even then they still didn't cancel my acct as instructed. and they do not report to all three credit agencies as stated when opened in aug 2017. I could not even access any reports with scores. I told them i was going to report then to attorney general and to the better business bureau. And yet still they did nothing but keep on billing, debt from my acct. I could stop authorization from my bank but it will cost me 25.00 to do so so why should i pay for it. and having the card did not raise my score, but it lowered it w/ third party inquiries. Where should i go for correction and benefits due at least a report to the cr AGENCIES all three since aug 2017 or a refund of all monies due to not being to access my acct or receive reports.

I applied for this card and they were asking for my cc number but on my cc there was not enough money to cover the charge so i thought i canceled it. All of a sudden whatever was left on my cc they charged w/o my permission. Real shady... so i called and i asked for a refund and the employee that helped me was very rude.. She didn't wanna refund my money and was giving me an attitude because i wanted the refund... In the end i just bluntly told her i wanted my money back and thats it... it was 8 / 31 /07... I made the call for refund... she said t will be credited in my credit card in 72 hours. I waited until9/7/07 still no refund... I called them back and guess what happen,, that lady did not process my refund.how rude...so now they told me i have to wait another 72 hours.. its 9/11/07 still no refund, tried calling their number it says circuit busy... i don't like this company all i want is my money back. I don't have extra money to be throwing away in some silly company.

After I got my cup of coffee and went to the post box... I just received my card and logged in to the site. Much of the product on the site I could get at a dollar store! I began to read and found this message board site that I am posting to. I called in to cancel and the rep picked up in about 3 to 4 rings. I told him to please record the conversation and I began to request my cancellation. Of course he informed me to the fact that he could not cancel a card and he asked me to hold for a supervisor. To my surprise, I was only on hold about 2 minutes! I was courteous and professional to both reps and the super tried to convince me to stay on board by raising my unsecured line of credit to 1000 dollars and she would refund part of my "initiation" fee. I thanked her, again being nice and professional, and she tried to hard close me to the offer she had just made. I thanked her and I repeated my request for immediate cancellation and she agreed. She gave me a confirm number and informed me that I would get a refund of $69 w in 24 to 72 hours. I hope this is the case. I guess due diligence will prevail on my part in the future regarding trying to rebuild my credit. READ EVERY WORD OF EVERY APPLICATION! I will be relieved to get 69 of my 89 dollars back. How does one repair and rebuild credit? Someone please advise me on this! It is a struggle and I cannot afford too many of these companies! Good luck and remember that being stern and professional will get things done. (Hopefully).

I purchased a horizon gold (so called credit card) only to find that it was not a real credit card (Visa or Master). This is a fake card allowing you to only shop at horizons shabby online site. I've had this fake card since may of 2017. Never have I used it. When I purchased the card I was under the impression that I was getting a REAL credit card as I was planning to go on vacation in August. Between May and August I lost my mother so was real unable to concentrate on this. Today September 21 I went online to the horizon website and found many complaints. i called their office and the first two times could not get through. Finally on the third try someone named Andre answered and told me that it was stated in the second paragraph that this was not a Visa or Mastercard. Throughout the conversation I could hear him laughing in the back with someone. I informed him that I would be contacting the BBB. If you have been scammed by horizon gold please post a complaint and let others know about this so called credit card company.

Horizon Gold offered me a $500 credit limit, no credit check, just $24.95 a month, with an initial fee of 5.00. I just payed the "one time fee" tonight. Unfortunatly, when they processed my payment, they kept saying the billing zip code didnt match. I knew it matched but, for some dumb reason I kept pressing try again. They charged my bank account 5 times for $29, 95 tonight. I cannot call the bank or Horizon Gold because it is after hours. That is $145 down the drain. If anyone can offer me any advice..please do. I dont even know how to go about cancelling the "membership" or whatever scam this is. PLEASE HELP!

The way this company slings out misleading ### to suck you in, having you believe you are recieving an actual unsecured credit card that you can use anywhere for anything should be AGAINST THE LAW! There must be legal action that can be taken for this type of scam, because there was no fine print that sometimes gets missed which is the loophole for these type of ripoff companies. Their outlet has nothing but cheap junk thats worth nothing, and its doubtful this scam rebuilds your credit, or is even reported to credit bereaus. Oh, And the robots they have reading you a line rehearsed ### when you call to complain should be ashamed of themselves...WALK AWAY FROM THIS LYING, SCAMMING, ###!...I'm cancelling right away, and want the $29.95 processing fee reimbursed to my account asap...and they had better not even try to debit my account again or there will be legal action taken! Anyone else with me?

This company is a fraud. They will not allow you to cancel without threatining to ruin your credit. they must collect for 6 months or else + the 89.00 set up fee + the 20.00 cancellation fee)! What kind of crap is that! First of all you think you are applying for a credit card, they get your bank info and suck you dry. Once they send you this crap line of credit for their Out dated and extremely over priced merchandise they refuse to cancel you. you call spend 30 minutes on the phone with some jerk who says they will report you as non payment on your account if you cancel plus you have to pay a full 6 months and a 20.00 cancellation fee. I can't believe they are allowed to do this this is fraud and using scare tactics to continue draining your bank account is crap.
The people in charge of shutting down businesses like this should be ashamed! Horizon Gold Card is A Scam!

i had account they charged 29.95 and then 19.95 and i bought nothing from them and they charged this to my moms pre paid credit card cause i had no credit card and they didnt even call and authorize it first.they do charged seperate for shipping. my credit score is not been reported to the credit bureau and now i have zippy do da in credit and they rip u off bad if we all get to gether we can close this company down.

I was also mislead by the people at Horizon. This card is nothing like they lead you to believe. Their stuff is junk. I was told no more money would come out of my account, unless ordered something, which I have no intention of doing. I have asked for my money back and I have heard nothing. I am now contacting my credit card company, better business bureau, and attorney generals office. In my opinion, they lied to me and stole my money. I now want it back!

I used a pay as you go debit card so they only got me for the initial fee...they have been trying to bill the empty card 4 times a month ever since...what a bunch of idiots...it's a scam plain and simple...does anyone have that customer service number? It's funny to me how some people dont read the fine print on things. I always check the fine print. This compnay's products are [censor] i will agree with everyone on that. I will also say that they only report to transunion. Their compnay was designed around people with bad credit. The creed, "We are out to take money from people with bad credit to give them a fighting chance at turning a bad credit score around." That is the companies whole purpose of bussiness. They do offer a line of credit with there company. They do send a credit card out to individual's witht eh account number on it. This card can not be used anywhere but there website. It a since it is more of a scam than a credit card. there not screwing people over and when you ask them to cancel the account they will ask to extend more credit and tell you what they are doing for your credit but if you demand them to cancel they will cancel. This card is meant for only people that dont mind giving someone money each month souly to establish better credit.

I recently received a postcard saying I was Approved for a $500 dollar unsecured credit card. After going to the website and reading the privacy policy I knew it was a scam. Thank you for everyone that has wrote about this company because you saved me from falling for this scam. If you want to complain about this scam go to usps.com and put in a complaint so we can get these ###s from taking our money that we don't have and them living off it.

Specially you people with kids you should have been a little more careful and not so money hungry that it ended up costing u. People are too quick to run to the money sign and too slow to read the fine print. Lets get with it people. Horizon Gold / Horizon Card Services mislead about card!

I had spoken to a rep from their company who told me there would be a 29.95 initial charge for the card, but as long as I didn't use the card there would be no other charges. I was immediately charged 29.95 plus 2-2.00 pending charges. I immediately asked what these were for and was told they meant nothing and would come off in a few days. (which they did) but, bow I am being charged 19.95 again as of 5/9. I no longer intend to do business with the company and I have never used the card. I expect to have the total of`$49.90put back on my credit card just as quickly as they seemed to take it off. I have no problem contacting the bbb, the attorney generals office or any one who can help me. I expect to have all of my money back by 5/19/2008.

Unfortunately your website to misrepresent and collect funds illegally does not provide for any address to safeguard consumers for the right to cancel a credit or account within 3 legal business days. Your offices misrepresents the amounts they will collect, and deceptively states consumer will have their amount collected with a notice on thier next billing statement. Furthermore when I legally cancelled this account the service manager named only as Dan, refused to provide his full name and tried to mandate how I would run my home. This company presented their account fees 6 times, 3 times they presented amounts of lesser values only to collect monies. Further more they offereed a cancellation transaction number and reversed the sixth presentedcharge of lesser value. In Minnesotat this is against the FDIC as electronic payments can only be presented 3 times. Furthermore I never recieved thier magical account number or any validation of this magical transaction number which they claimed they couldn't provide me with. Therefore they had the right to commit fruad, provide me no transaction information on my magical account and they had the right to present this electronic check as many times for as many different amounts that they wanted until they could secure any money. This is fraud, misrepresentation and by the complaints of the other people your company has a reputation for fraud. Your deceptiveness in this manner only validates your offices and business entity will do and say anything including fraud, misrepresetnation and illegal business practices in order to collect money from honest people. Furthermore Minnesota Law mandates the right to cancel this account within three days or offices doesn't even post your address to allow for the legal cancellation of an account. Furthermore I don't appreciate your tone and reufsal to offer me the RIGHT to cancel my account. Perhaps a class action lawsuit against your business for the WELL obviated fraud, misrepresetntation and deliberate will to continue in these unlawful and abusive practices would stop your corrupt and assaultive acts. They sent me a horizon gold card. I looked at their website but never bought anything or used the card. Now they are trying to charge me. Telling me i have a balance when i should not at all. I keep getting emails,phone calls an letters saying it is going to a collection company. Every time i try to get results when i call card services. I get put on hold forever then disconnected. I dont need this b/s on my credit report! Aaron s.

After applying online for a credit card through different companies, I received a professional made postcard type advertisement stating that if i invest with them iwill receive a 500 dollar line of credit. At the time when i released my debit card number to them i had insufficient funds, so i left it at that .A couple of weeks later my card was still being charged. I was able to contact them and I confronted them about continuing to charge my card with out my permission, they apologized and proceeded to convince me that if they allow me to let them keep my money they would up grade my creditlimit.After negotiating a so called sales rep said " my boss has allowed me to give you a $40.00 dollar rebate and for us to keep $40.00 we will upgrade your credit line to 2, 000 dollars, in which we will report to the credit buero and it will look real good on your report" At this point it seemed OK that they could upgrade as such because the credit line was only good through their store ."I never received my card, and am now unable to come in contact with them.
I have been scamed, lied to and robbed. I have no trust in a major everyday device the internet. I am not even sure if this complaint web page is for real or something designed to intercept wronged consumers.

Horizon Gold / Horizon Card Services refund

I ordered the horizon gold card and my prepaid credit card was debited $79.95 immediately. I discovered that this was not a visa or mastercard, and called the first business day to request an immediate refund. The representative talked me out of a full refund to "rebuild my credit" using their services, yet I never received anything from this company; not a card, not line of credit, not a login to their site, and email to their webmaster to request a login bounces.

I shall be contacting the minnesota attorney general's office regarding this. I want an immediate refund of the money I paid for absolutely nothing, with interest. If they can charge interest on their fraudulent credit accounts, I want interest on the money I paid as well.

This company led me to believe it was an actual credit card visa or mastercard. I unfortunately signed up hoping to have extra money to pay for my pain meds as I am on heavy duty patches called fluently which is common uses in cancer patients. So must of us should have a other person looking out for them so they don't make mistakes.
