The Co-operative Food Customer service

Today I visited my local store with my young daughter. She hadn't been very well all morning but i needed to pop for some milk after taken my other children to school. My daughter was in her buggy when all of a sudden she began to be sick. Most of it went down the front of her but some went onto the floor. A friend who was also shopping in the shop at the same time pointed it out to me so I immediately asked a member of staff for some tissue if possible so I could clean it up. She seemed to sulk even tho I apologised a few times. I cleaned the floor and disposed of the tissue into a bag.. my friend gave me wipes for my daughter. I then proceeded to the counted and thanked another member of staff for the tissue and once again apolised. My daughter had been sick a little on a packet of crisps that she had been holding until I paid for them and the member of staff that took the crisps from the basket made me feel so embarrassed as I apoligised once again explaining that if I'd known there was anything on the packet I wouldve cleaned them with the wipes I got off my friend and warned the staff. The member off staff began to make reaching noises in front of other customers and myself.. I will certainly never shop in that shop again when them member of staff are working as they made me feel like it was my fault my daughter was poorly and I was very embarrassed. .

The Co-operative Food Poor Service

I noticed going in two of these shops that service is very poor. One in a rural town had no prawns.Others had over priced food or grocery items with a preponderance of unhealthy sweets or starchy comfort foods.
Theres is often "an attitude"one can detect given off ny the sleazy appearing staff that is very unappealing.
The customers are often poorer and are not always regarded with respect.

The Co-operative Food disappointed by staff rudeness

Hi I am an old customer of the coop. I have always likes customer service of the coop but on 31st Feb 2013 I visited the co-operative food store, Shoreditch, London just before busy time. I work nearby so I usually visit this coop during my lunch hour. As always I have choose meal deal for lunch and went on tills to pay for it but it did not come up as £3.00 so I asked lady named ANNA why its not a meal deal ? She rudely answered me back that I have picked wrong side dish which was olives and ordered me to get something else from somewhere without helping me out. She has not even said hi to me as she was busy talking with girl next to her with blond hair she just ignored me. After wasting my 5 minutes searching for other option she realised that she had forgot to scan one item that was the reason why it was more than £3.00. I really felt humiliated by the way she treated me and her rudeness blew my mind off but still I politely said her thank you before leaving but she made face on me and did not reply me back. NO sorry NO thank you nothing... I felt so bad for the whole day. I have never seen anyone talking with customer so rudely with so much attitude. If I ever go back to this coop I will never go back to this girl she has so much bad attitude towards customer.

The Co-operative Food bad manners

I wish to make a formal complaint about the staff at the co op in the the Old London Road. The female staff especially are extremely rude, beligerant in their attitude, lazy and extremely uncooperative. When you approach the tills they are always discussing the night befor, the state of their relationships and t.v.the store itself is csruffy, ill stocked with food often days out of date. One man in particular is rude, racist and cannot be bothered to talk civilly to staff or customers. The good part of this store is the CDF which is always well stocked, nicely laid out and the baker always polite and helpful.I am most disappointed that such and old company has allowed its standars to drop so dramatically.Yours Sincerely.Ms.Pauline Godden.

The Co-operative Food Van driver spitting at me because I complained about him parking across my drive

No response from the Co-op since my letter to them of October 2010 regarding one of their van drivers who continually parked across my drive (even though I have dropped kerbs) and when I complained if he ssaw me he would spit and "gob" at me when making deliveries to my neighbour across the road. All my complaints so far have gone unanswered. Not happy. I am an OAP and can do without this sort of harrassment.

The Co-operative Food Terrible experience

My car was parked on the industrial estate, outside the factory I was working in, I saw a Co-op lorry coming round the corner and ran out as I knew he would not get round with out hitting my car (they are not supposed to come around this part of the estate as it is to narrow for their lorry's). I saw his tail gate go into the back of my car, I shouted at him and ran towards my car, I had to jump in front of the lorry as he was about to drive away, at this point my father joined me and we got the registration of the vehicle, and the driver gave us his name, this is when the fun begins, The co-op have denied being at there and state that the vehicle was in another town at the time of the incident. I have seven witnesses who all saw the vehicle embedded in my car, or the lorry at the scene, The driver had given false details, the police would not get involved, until my Mother went through the complaints department, but it by then it had taken so long that they ran out of time before they could find the driver, we have had for force the insurance company to take it to court, it is now in the hands of the Solicitors, but they keep telling us the third party are asking for more evidence so we can not issue proceedings, it has be 20 months since the accident and I have got no where, I have the registration of the lorry that hit me on my mobile phone which I took at the accident, the Co-Op tried to say that I took the picture in Haverhill where they say the lorry was broken down, none of the paper work they have submitted makes sense, but I am still no closer to getting my claim sorted out, What is it they are trying to hide, this accident did happen, my car was written off, and I am out of pocket, it has cost us fortune in calls and letters not to mention the stress of it all, all I wanted was to be paid what they owe me, what is wrong with our Systems that a Company of this size can lie about this accident and have so far got away with it.

I am an italian girl of 28.
I've been more than ones buying tobacco or wine in supermarkets in England and never had problems. I was quite surprise went at this co-operative food shop and they asked for my ID. Anyway I did not pay too much attention and I felt quite happy looking like a teen. The problem arose when I showed my ID: I am italian and the ID that the country provides is made by paper written in italian obviously. It is accepted as valid document at the Board at the airport and I am allowed to get into the UK just with that. For this reason I never thought about doing a proper passport. Not only they did not accepted the ID saying to me that It might be valid in Italy but not in England, but the nice guy behind the bench throw it to me saying :"with that you would never buy nothing in the UK". I felt embarrassed and humiliated. But the main point is (a part the rude guy which I would have kicked with lot of pleasure) Is it the case that you get informed about the different kind of VALID ID that foreign adult people can show you? Or is it just a sort of racist form against italian IDs? And by the way, I was with a German friend and she did again the queue and showed her German awesome plastic ID but...IT WAS NOT ACCEPTED BECAUSE SHE WAS SEEN 10 MINUTES BEFORE WITH ME! Shame on you!
