This happened a few years back, however, since there are up-to-date complaints about this company, I will be more than happy to discuss my complaints. In early 2008, I started working at The Cattle Exchange. The ad was awesome. "Earn from $600-1, 500 weekly" This excited me, and plus in the add, it stated "Company vehicle provided." Well, I went in for the...

The Cattle Exchange HORRIBLE COMPANY..BEWARE

I was harrassed by 2 of their salesmen regarding their meat products. They were going to sell me a box of beef and then gave 2 chicken boxes free. The total was $459 and I got no receipts and the salesman immediately asked where my bank and what was the closest one. They gave me no return or warranty information. He said he was going to give me a receipt but then he forgot he didn't have his receipt book. After they left, I did a little research and found their website adn realized that they had charged me TRIPLE what the prices were on their website. I was angry. We also discovered that the meats are no where near the weights they guarentee and it is old meat. I called the number listed for them on the website and a child answered the phone. I then found a different number and the woman that answered the phone assured me that I could return the products. I was very leary of these people at this time after reading the numerous complaints for the same thing so I made sure my husband was home when they said they would pick it back up. At this time, a different salesman came to our door and said he was in the neighborhood and he was contacted for a return. He took all the products in the same packages and box but he didn't have our check or a refund for us. Luckily I called my bank immediatley and they check had not been presented so I did an immediate stop pay so I would not be out $450 and have nothing. During the next month a very rude lady, Linda, called repeatedly about the check and she wanted the money. I left a total of 17 messages on variuos phone numbers listed on their website and emailed the address listed but I never heard from anyone regarding this. Only they would leave messages at the strangest times of the day and when I would call back it was just to a voice mail. Although I am not out any money, I would like others to be aware since I still see their vehicles driving through our neighborhoods.

i have to disagree with the comment by unhappy, i made a purchase on last week from this company in the amount of $712.00 and later found i had made an emergency and could not keep the product. i followed the instructions on the pamplet that was left with me and mailed it in, i received a call from Linda at corporate office she was very nice and told me she would arrange to have the meat picked up and my money refunded, . with Linda help i received my refund today. unhappy since you stop payment on the check maybe the compay was just trying to get thier money. if that is the case maybe that is why you considered her rude, i can only say nice things about her and the company.

The Cattle Exchange not a scam as otheres

I 've just read a complaint about The Cattle Exchange that I wasn't satisfied about so now it's my turn to reply. Every one have their opinion about business, yet when you place them on-line for others to read then expect other sides to the story. God never intended for two people to act alike, or more over do business alike. If you have a sibling with the same mother and father and were raised in the same household. When they reach a mature age and began to develop their own family. Those families are not going to be the same.

Now that my point has been given, let's get to the real matter at hand. Cowboy from Alabama you may have come in contact with a bad salesman I must apologize and I'm sorry. But we all have had some bad experiences. We take those individual experiences and apply them to our own individual lives and learn. Penalizing the world or even the whole establishment and their representatives may not be the appropriate response. I will that I understand you feel agree and you may be right on your opinions. Yet, I'd like to believe that experience is one of the best teachers. It's only human to make a mistake or get taken for granted. But what could be less human is to continue to allow the mistakes to cross your path. What would make your own life easier is to just protect yourself from future harm. And at the same time allow others to have their own experiences. Now if the same situation presented itself again then I suggest that you handle it accordingly... so that God would be pleased! Everyone that works with The Cattle Exchange is not a Scam artist and everyone is not out to burn you. We are in a world of crooks and bad people who intentions are for your harm...that is not our intentions. I pray that you are protected with wisdom and able to weed these people out, so your life would be better in 2009. Remember we are not in a perfect world. There are only a few people working to do the RIGHT thing for people in every situation, and the color of their skin won't tell us who is who! On a softer note, I am a Cattle Exchange Contracted worker and I Do unto others as I would like for them to do unto me. I respect my customers and only present a blessing not a curse. I use the worlds goods to bless others in need. Don't look at all The Cattle Exchange representatives the same if you can, because some of us are real honest people and strive to do right. Some of us are family orientated and this is how we support our family!

Thanks, Be Blessed, and May Heaven Smile upon You(Family)

There are good and bad people in every industry. I happen to know several of the employees, and would buy from them anytime. People that look different, or rub you the wrong way; may mean that "you" need to take a personal inventory of how and why you judge people. There are also "Two Sides" to every story.
My experience has been that the people I have come in contact with that work for Cattle Exchange: come from all different backgrounds, which is what our Country represents. I met about a dozen of the workers. Only one of the workers was obnoxious and he no longer works for this company. I am related to one of the people that works for this company, and I can honestly tell you that they are held to high standards. When a serious complaint is bought to the attention of the owner; it is taken seriously. Instead of complaining about them online, bring your complaint to the attention of the manager. If you do not get results, go over their head to the owner through registered mail. Companies can only improve, if the owner is aware of a problem.
If you are among the ; "I worked for them, and didn't make much money"; evidently you didn't sell very much of this Resturant quality product! Judge not lest ye be judged accordingly!

The Cattle Exchange Terrible company!

I got a visit from these two guys and was told " they just left a house down the road and the person changed there mind about wanting there delivery." They just wanted to show it sold so they could get there "commission" for a sale. It looked good, so I took some into the house. After I got to looking at it and checking the weight, found out that I was shorted. I contacted the company and was greeted with a phone message system. I left a message and waited till the next day. Apparently they either screen there calls or just don't look to return 'problem' calls. After a being shuffled from one 'salesperson' to the next, I was given to the V.P. of Merchandising. I explained my problem and I was told there would be no problem getting a refund. Just had to send in the "Request for Refund". I sent it in by fax with a copy of the sale. I called back the next day and got a hold of the "V.P." again. He told me that it he was glad I called they needed my address. I asked about my refund and was told that I should be "eligible" for one. When the flier said "100% Guaranteed" . I had to wait to see if I qualify, like I was waiting on a loan application.

I contacted my local and state agencies about this problem. They told me that it was hard to catch them do to the fact that they move in and out of an area so quickly that getting them stopped is hard. If I were to get a tag number I could report it to the highway patrol and then they could be pulled over for different violations. Thats about it. They are called " Kite Contractors". They get different loads of meat, seafood and poultry in a house type freezer. Then " Deliver" it door to door. Some are ordered but mostly door to door. If they get in any trouble they are cut loose. The money is paid up front so nothing lost. Just our money.

Yeah, honestly I just bought some meat from the meat man (Guess it is the adult version of the ice cream man, lol.)

And he and his partner did things that went against all of these complaints in advance, so now that I am on this website, I have no complaints.

1. Bait and Switch- Our guy laid out all 6 cases of meat that went inside each box. We got to see everything that we purchased before we bought it.

2. Same day cashing of check- Our guy came to our neighborhood on a Saturday (after a HUGE blizzard, I'm on the east coast, which may have lent some credence to his whole, customers cancelled story) So we bought the meat on Saturday, knowing that he wouldn't be able to do anything with the check until Monday at best. We could have easily stop ordered the check!

3. Price per a pound or whatever- We got 4 cases. One of Chicken, one of seafood, one of Red meat, and one mix. Honestly we eat much more chicken and seafood in this house than red meat, but we saw the best value in the red meat and seafood. I'm on the water and can see what market value for crabs, shrimp, and assorted other seafood is. I can't speak for everyone else, but I know that I felt our guy's prices seemed competitive. Regardless of what you pay, keep in mind there is the matter of convenience. You don't have to get dressed and drive to the store, wait through a long check out line, load up the car, unload the car, and then stock your freezer personally. Granted, I can't let another man do work that I can do in my own house, so I missed out on letting him stock my freezer for me, but still the convenience of having that guy do all the above is pretty nice. Maybe remembering all that will help you to sleep a little better with the price you paid.

4. We got a freezer thrown in that we had been in the market looking for so $735 (including tax) for the 4 cases with 6 boxes inside plus a 5 cubic feet freezer. Maybe you can bargain one of those into the deal?

And NO I am not one of their reps or whatever. I am an Army veteran, now attending med school living with my girlfriend who works.

Now some free advice:

Think of these people like car salesmen. Some are honest, some are crooks. But they are ALL willing to make a deal. Haggle with them! Get a price you can be happy with! Don't get taken advantage then come to a website to bash them because they negotiated a heckuva a lot better than you did! You are the buyer! You have all the POWER! Buyers have the majority of the power when it comes to any transaction. They immediately carry more "meeting weight" (Dilbert, anyone?) because of what they represent. Don't forget that and hopefully next time, you will exert more of your authority and get a better deal.

these people are def con artists. Owners use to run Country fed meats and were shut down by the feds 14 years ago. It was a national bust for state tax evasion and income tax evasion. How do I know this? I worked there for two weeks and watched the feds come in and shut the place down right in front of my face. Dont believe me? check it out on line. Owners are Harry and Mike Piedon. Not sure if thats the correct spelling but they are truly a scam. Products were very bad too.

I have been a meatwoman for 17 years. I feed america my price has not changed in 17 years. As a matter of fact i have to work twice as hard and make less money today than I did before. My customers consider me part of their family amd I can honestly say that in some instances I have delivered to 2 and 3 generations. I'm proud to be a meatwoman and I know I am saving my customers money. Also, for the record, freezers have an inverter and or dry ice. All we, re doing is trying to make an honest living. So next time a meat person comes to your door, remember that they work on commission and they really work hard.

All of these people complaining sound just like the choir of gripers for any other establishment. I have heard the same about the cable company, Wal-Mart, vacuum companies, and even churches. I would never take anyone's word for anything these days, and whats more, the complainers are probably employed by companies WE would all complain about if we knew where they were really coming from.

People just love to ###. It's our nature, so if you are sooooo good, why not offer these people a job next time they come around so they don't have to sell meat. Also, why not quit bashing people online. Don't you have any better thing to do. If you don't like it, don't but it, but you don't need to be jerks about it.

I could produce a gigantic list of companies I will not spend my money with, because they have low ethics, they are all over, and some of the most widely known names in advertising and retail are among them. In fact, your company may well be on the list, and from the sounds of it, it may be because of attitudes just like yours.

I was not at all happy with the quality of meat I purchased from this company. It was thin and sort of gross after I cooked it. I was told that there was a money back guarantee so I went to call, only to realize that I had no information on the my purchase. He took the brochure back to write is name on it, then conveniently forgot to give it back to me. My only hope now is that my bank account is secure and these people aren't going to run the check through repeatedly like they've done to others. I would not buy from this company if I were you, I never will again.

i enjoy the meat from this company, i have bought from them several times and will continue to do so, I think most of the negative comments are from ex-employees of the company i say this because i have had nothing but a good relationship with the salesman and the customer service department. I agree they may have some bad apples in the bunch but i think overall they have hard working honest men and women trying to make a honest dollar and provide for thie families. the job these people have is not easy knocking on doors in this day and time is hard, just like the bad rep of the used care salesman these guys are also being lable. I would invite any of you to try and do want they do for thier family and then have your FAT CAT A** to compalin. NO I am NOT nor have i ever worked for the company only a customer who think these people are not given a fair shake. what these people do is better than robbing a bank or breaking into homes, WHICH WOULD YOU RATHER THEY DO?

Bought a package of meat out here in athens and its basically hit or miss. Some meat is good and some is horrible and 80-90% fat. After the meat sits on your plate the fat turns into mush and looks like mashed potatoes! But every once in awhile you get a decent peice of meat. Weve only ate about 4 peices and so far only one peice has been decent so i guess im still undecided. I just hope this post helps someone.
