Paul Mitchell - students drinking, students threatening other students, students stealing, students calling other students names

Don't Go To Paul Mitchell Waukesha, WI; students where drinking at Caper in Las Vegas (a school event) and were not expelled! This is suppose to be a "Be Nice Culture" yet students are calling each other names, threatening each other, stealing from one another. The learning leaders are friends with the students and do nothing to discipline those who mistreat, threaten, steal, miss days of school including Saturdays. Again, this is suppose to be a be nice culture! Students are loosing hours on their education for school, hours that they did not miss, hours that are not being replaced when should be. The students are constantly replacing their kits that costs $2, 500, the supplies does not even include state board supplies, not even for Mocks (a practice test for state board). When students bring to the learning leader's attention of harassing situations, abusive and threatening situations, they take nothing serious because of the friendships that have been made with learning leaders vs. students. The girls are mean and rude to other students, even to staff and yet nothing is done! This school is horrible, expensive, promotes drinking on school functions, allows abuse - even students who threaten each other. Don't go to Paul Mitchell School that is in Waukesha, WI. Your student will love the first 6weeks but land up hating the very existence of even choosing The Academy Waukesha, Paul Mitchell School . Even if your student realizes the mistake he or she made of choosing Paul Mitchell, he or she will not have the option to switch because the owner will not their hours transfer, he will even charge for a huge fee to make it impossible to do so. Just Say No! Don't Go!

I agree. There are no security cameras in this school to see who is stealing, whether it's other students property or school property. Mannequin heads have students names on them, but suddenly disappear. I can smell sewage in the school, the sinks in the wash house back up so that a student has to hold a clients hair up out of the sink, waiting for it to drain so she can continue to rinse hair, only to have the sink back up again. The missing hours is the most disturbing issue though. There are at least 3 ways to prove you have been in class each day. Time clock, client schedule and the monthly service calendar that is required. It is hard to get into the office of the staff person in charge of this. Because of poor behavior by some, the whole school has to suffer, for instance, no student services. Only those students with poor behavior, attitude or not coming to school every day should be penalized. The ladies from Merle Norman will no longer come to the school to teach because of the students who are rude during class. These rude students should be removed from the floor ASAP no matter what the teaching situation is. The school has policies in place for dress code, behavior and attendance, but does not follow thru consistantly. You are paying to get an education, not to be treated like a high schooler or worse, a toddler. Just like the staff expects to get respect at all times, the students should receive it at all times, even when they are upset. They some times use their authority to dole out unfair punishments. The staff just calmly needs to redirect and show them another way something can be handled. A student will mimic respectable behavior of staff, but they will mimic rude staff as well. "If staff doesn't care, why should I ?" Lead by example. Sadly, the example has been rude behavior from some of the staff and owner. The owner stands by anything his staff says and will not tolerate or accept anything negative about the staff.

I strongly agree with the comment! I do not go there but my Significant Other does. Every day since she got out of core she has had problems with learning leaders. Unless you have befriended or know one of the leaders they wont do anything to help or teach you. However i have learned that if you are of other than "white" ethnicity you can get away with telling the teachers off and do what ever you want. There is so much shady stuff going on at this school! If you didn't know this already: Its is not a Paul Mitchell School! The guy who runs the school has to pay Paul Mitchell so that they can use the name. It is not a "nice" environment. I have been there a few times and seen first hand some of the unfair practices that go on here. I would not recommended anyone to go here, this "school" is nothing but a joke.
