Techoni Technologies Pty Ltd Selling a used ex Hong Kong iphone 3 GS which was refurbished with non genuine parts

I purchased an Apple iphone3GS 32GB Mobile phone from Techoni Technologies and had to wait 2 weeks with no reply from them. Finally I telephone Techoni Technologies only to be advised that they had been out-of-stock. However, a new shipment had arrived and Techoni were waiting for them to be ‘cleared’ by the Customs and Techoni will send it within next 2-3 days. The iphone3GS arrived within 5 days. After using it for 2.5 weeks the iphone’s battery wasn’t holding a Full Charge and was fully discharging after 2 hours use. So I took iphone3 into the Perth CBD Apple Store, only to be informed that the iphone3GS 32GB was 'used’ and ‘2 years old'. Also that the iphone had been 'refurbished with non genuine Apple Parts' and the serial number revealed that the iphone3 was ex Hong Kong. With that, Apple 'denied to service it' under those grounds. The iphone3GS was purchased the under the understanding that it was a Brand New and genuine Apple iphone3 and officially unlocked. In light of the above, Techoni Technologies has been misleading and totally deceptive conduct. They have also offered unacceptable quality of the iphone and under law Techoni has failed to disclose relevant facts which is a breach of the Australian Consumer Law. They have also made untruthful, dishonest, unfair and unlawful statements in their website advertisements. Also when goods fail to meet a consumer guarantee, the consumer can also claim for consequential losses for time and money and in this case the above issue is affecting my business and livelihood. Whether Techoni intended to mislead or be deceiving about the quality of consumer goods is irrelevant under the circumstances and Maximum Criminal Penalties should be imposed. The above has been reported to Apple’s Head Office in Sydney and I await the result.

Not happy Jan! I ordered a mobile phone online. I received an automated email that my money had been accepted and that they would contact me again when it was dispatched or if there was any problem. Despite two emails (which were never answered) I received no further contact from them. A phone call 39 days after the order was placed resulted in a long wait to be answered (19 minustes) listening to a fractured recording of music. The Asian man who answered eventually has promised that the phone would be sent within five days (I am not holding my breath). They may be ok if you walk into their shop, but their online service is non existant.

If I don't get a satisfactory result, I will be going to my bank to organise a "Back Charge" to get my money back. They will have to pay a fee for this (not me) and hopefully if enough people do this, they will not be able to use Visa or Mastercard.

Techoni Technologies Pty Ltd service and

I placed an order for a simple mobile case cover then 2& 1/2 weeks later product not received,
ring techoni the lady does not understand english properly, ten tells me that my order has not been sent
yet, it was out of stock, but someone forgot to let me the customer know? I then askto speak to the manager
she (jenny) suddenly became the supervisor? the manager was busy ? then she was to get back to me
with a solution .. I ring back she puts me on hold and then after 15min on hold hangs up on me?
I ring back and am still on hold?
Also on hold tyhey have been playing Australiana songs, but when they answer the phone they can't speak english properly

just rang these jokers before purchasing, thankfully, to check availability on the particular samsung phone I was after. before I could tell them the model the guy says their all in stock (sounding a little sus atm). then I asked if the price includes GST and apparently it does NOT. I queried this as they have a .com.au the must be a registered Australian company and therefore include GST, thats when he started saying my call was "Breaking up", funny I was on a land line. SO glad I rang them before purchasing...think Ill stick with Kogan. may take 2-3 weeks to deliver but at least there honest and genuine

How I wish I'd seen this page before getting involved.!
Ordered a Samsung S3 on 3 January 2014, paid on my credit card. I had received nothing by 17th so I emailed and was told 'customs issues' were responsible for the delay and to use Australia Post tracking to locate the parcel. According to the tracking number the phone had been dispatched from Shanghai on 8/1. I emailed several times and was ignored. I tried to phone and had a conversation with someone who didn't speak English on 27/1 asking for a refund. I was told to fill in a form, to which I had an email response to say no refund. I emailed my disgust and demanded a refund, their response was they couldn't locate the parcel and to complain to Australia Post. More emails, then I waited 45 minutes on hold to speak to someone on 14/2. They told me "no refund the parcel had been delivered on 12/2". but wouldn't tell me to whom and to where, only to track the parcel with Australia Post. I threatened to take this to consumer affairs and to the media, to which I was told "Sure you will" before he hung up on me! I have no parcel, no refund and Australia Post parcel tracking reckon the parcel hasn't even entered the country yet! I have gone to consumer affairs, who could only get 'refund refused and not compel them to refund me. Thanks to this website, I have now asked my bank to do a charge back. I have also sent my complaint to ABC's 'The Checkout' and to channel 7 in Perth. This Australian company should not be allowed to operate.

Wow. An eye opener. I also ordered a mobile phone, identical to the one I have owned for 8 years. The order was placed 24 th January 2014. Its now 3 weeks since and no sign of it. I have tried to call all numbers on their website and all I get is muzac and a voice saying all operators are busy. What ###. I have written emails and instantly receive an email which states they have a large number of emails and to " be patient" they will get back. Still waiting ! I have written another email claiming I will be going to Consumer Affairs and that I will be posting this on Face Book so it goes viral. I wish I saw this page before I put in my order.

Nothing has changed at Techoni! Beware! I placed an order and paid for two items on Dec11th 2013 and they were shown as Usually ship in 2-6 days. Got nothing before Christmas, they were closed between Christmas and New Year and when I rang them last week they said goods must be on their way and should see them Monday or Tuesday but now WEDNESDAY AND NOTHING SO I've DEMANDED A REFUND!

Yes, beware of this company. As a police officer I smelt something bad early and ended up recording my conversations with sales reps and making copious notes and records or everything. They lied about where the mobile phone was coming from, and lied about stock availability of accessories. Still waiting for the phone.

Be aware that some of these companies advertise that they have a certain item at a certain price, but in actual fact they do not have it in stock in Australia. They will take your money and then keep fobbing you off with excuses - or simply ignore your requests for information.
Always make sure that they actually have the item (as advertised) in stock, in Australia (not in Hong Kong or somewhere else).
If you are buying an "unlocked" phone, make sure that they actually have unlocked phones available immediately and are not waiting for supplies to come from overseas.
If you have paid by credit/debit card do a "charge back" through your bank (as explained above).

Buyer beware12 - you should send them an email - stating that you are going to your bank to do a "charge back" on your credit/debit card if you have no satisfaction within 7, 10, 14 working days (whatever you choose). Make it clear exactly what you want them to do e.g. cancel your order and refund the money, or (if you are brave enough) change your order to a different model.

They do not want to have people doing "charge backs" because (a) they lose the money you paid - plus a fee for the charge back, (b) if they get too many "charge backs" on a particular card, they will not be allowed to deal with that company.

Go to www.moneybuddy.com.au and look at "purchase disputes and charge backs" - or do a Google search for charge back Visa Card Australia (or other card).

Well what a saga. This was no doubt the worst customer service I have ever received and the issues still not resolved.
I listed eight issues to be fixed some of which included incomplete orders, yep that’s right, they couldn’t even send the correct order to me.
Bottom line is I have no phone and I’ve payed them over $300 (yes silly me). Not one person at Techoni has contacted me and after many emails no-one showed any real interest in resolving problems. It's like they just ignore you once they have your money! They are deceiving in that they appear to be an Australian company but they import the product from Hong Kong and hence where my problems first started. The phone would not connect to 3G internet and the application centre was in Chinese (IE two of my 8 issues). I believe this should have been easily fixed up by changing the software on the phone and after I sent it back (at my own expense of course) they have not responded as to how, if or when the issues will be fixed.

I've definitely learnt from this experience and while it has cost me money I hope this saves many potential future customers this stress and inconvenience. I will continue to pursue them and recover my costs but I hope my experience saves you from getting into this mess in the first place!

Remember the good old rule you get what you pay for.
In a nutshell this is what they did to me
1. Pathetic service 2.no communication skills 3.take your money and don’t fix problems 4.ignore you 5.send incomplete orders 6. Appear to have no quality control system 7 product didn’t do what it was advertised to be able to do

I have had exactly the same problems as above place and pay for order for it not to be processed, I am doing a charge back tomorrow.I waited 3 weeks and they keep promising via email. enough is enough!
