TD Bank disrespectful representative

I called to fix the mistake they did on my balance. I explained my problem and she keeps saying I was wrong and she wasn't making me talk. She was disrespectful and I told her I'll call back to review my bank history because I wanted to calculate everything and I did just now that I am right. When I said that I'll call her and I said it twice, her response to me was " what for ? you're not right " And she's making it look like I'm poor or something was very offensive. She said " are you saying that you're not supposed to owe us money ". The last time I told her that I'll call back, she didn't say anything and she hanged up.

Never in my life that I was treated like this. I feel so discriminated and i feel so much hate. Everyone tells me I'm nice and all and I et treated like this. That girl should lose her job.

Like even if i was wrong she had no rights to act like that to me.

TD Bank overdraft complaint

I was advised to close my TD Bank account online and that going to the branch would not be necessary, I could send a message online and it would all be taken care of. I sent the message on 9/16. on 9/17 they accept an electronic debit from Midland National Bank AFTER they were advised to close the account and tacked on additional $35.00 fee. Now the account is overdrawn and they wont close it until there is a 0 balance on the account. THIS IS USUAL TDBANK BEHAVIOR and it is the reason why i'm leaving! had i gone to the branch and closed the account, the account would have been closed right then and all transactions bounced. its unacceptable that i spend my money on fees after i asked the bank to close the account!

It was not a legit comment or concern, person was just trying to get out of a payment and should know it takes two days to have things closed out. If they would have taken the responsibility to know their bank procedures and keep an eye on their money and account. grow up and be an adult and take care of your stuff, you know you were just trying to get out of paying a bill you owed. Pathetic

TD Bank lack of customer service

TD Bank blocked my debit card after I purchased tickets in London over the phone because " the transaction was unfamiliar" to them. TD Bank never contacted me and the only way I knew they had done this was ten days later when I was denied the use of the debit card, on-line banking and phone banking services. I was forced to go into the local branch to find out what was going on and it was only then I discovered I had a "hot card"! Apparently TD Bank cannot use the several phone numbers or email addresses it has for me to alert me or spare me the embarrassment of being denied access to my own money. Wait it gets better! The next day I received 3 calls from the 3rd party Quebec based survey company that TD Bank uses and which DOES have my number and knows how to dial it. When I called to stop the madness, TD Customer Service supervisor advised me it is not their policy to inform customers that their card has been blocked. Simply not their policy to spare customers embarrassment or leave them hanging without access to their own funds.

TD Bank Retains lawyers that will violate your constitutional rights

TD Bank uses a law firm in Hackensack, NJ. for collections named Winne Banta. They have filed for liens with the court using incorrect information and withholding pertenent information that would cause the court to deny the liens based upon funds being exempt from this type of action. In condoning this behavior as well as maintaining relations with Winne Banta TD Bank stands complicit in allowing Winne Banta and its minions to violate our rights under the 4th Amendment which prohibits illegal search and seisure of property.
I have consulted my US Congressman's office and have verified that this action is illegal.
To date Winne Banta, the local bar association, which is across the street from Winne Banta, and TD Bank have not commented nor have they attempted to rectify this wrongful action.
Winne Banta and its pool of legal vultures needs to understand that the court grants lawyers special status and that lawyers, when seeking action, need to step up to the moral and ethical standards in which the courts allow to their behavior and truthfulness. Winne Banta and TD Bank so far have not earned the respect or either myself or the public at large.
Shame on Winne Banta (filled with lawyers that would make you believe they are worth $400/hour when, at best, should work for minimum wage) and their funding source, TD Bank for permitting a culture so deceitful.

TD Bank mismanaging accounts - overdraft

The overdraft thing is inappropriate and I feel illegal, charges need to be filed against them and they need to be investigated. I walked into the branch last week due to an overdraft fee of $210! When I watch my account religiously and always know what my balance is and what is coming out... considering I schedule all the payments. (This was after I was treated very rudely by an Online Banking Supervisor that hung up on me.) I advised them that they would be reversing the charges or I would take every cent I had between my 3 accounts out ASAP, including transferring my car loan and filing a complaint agains the bank. I have been a customer for 18 years. After the threat, I was able to confirm that 1) they DO NOT POST transactions to the account in the order that you use your debit card, 2) they POST THE HIGHER $ transactions first and 3) they posted debit transactions before my husband's check was deposited even though it went in electronically at midnight the night BEFORE. I got this person to admit to me all of the above, her system did not reflect what I see as a customer of their bank. BEWARE! I advised them that as a customer of their bank none of those actions are appropriate. I got them to reverse the fees. I was also handed a paper check register and advised that online banking is only a tool. I handed the paper check register back and advised that if the transactions are not being posted in the correct order the paper register is not going to help me in any way. I was not suprised to find that they did not have a response to my comment. Oh.. and right before I got up to leave, they advised me that I qualified for a credit card through their bank! REALLY? That was exactly what I said to them. REALLY, you are really offering me a credit card? No thank you! GET RID OF THEM QUICK!

I had a really bad experience with TD Bank. Regardless of their policies, most other banks provide no fees for accounts with DIRECT DEPOSIT. When we opened the acct. we were not even offered to add the overdraft protection. Also when transferring money from MY SAVINGS to MY OWN CHECKING ACCT. transfers should have been taken as cash, as Chase and BOA do accounts. Your online banking is not user friendly and it is not accurate. One day balance shows as available and then all transaction are added together show as pending. I transferred money to avoid overdraft but transferred money was placed as PENDING! and after the bank charged me $175 in overdraft fees, my account went again in overdraft, so $70 more were drafted. Not only that, but also, since the acct. went under $100 because of the overdrafts, you guys charged me $15 maintenance fee!. YOU MUST BE KINDDING ME! We are done with TD Bank and our experience was really bad!

This bank should be punished for what they do to the hard working American Dollar that is not even worth a dollar anymore. Forget trying to get loans- all this bank needs to do is keep charging fees to collect what they need. I find it funny they have their little debit system right down to a nac but when it comes time for your deposits to post it is tossed into PENDING causing all kinds of fees to kick out. Job Well Done TD! The sad thing is- everyone that I know is closing their accounts out at TD- can't afford to bank there or should I say make your payroll in my case. I hope you people can lay your head down at night and enjoy it while it last because sooner or later any hard working american will catch on to your system. Whatever happened to posting credits before debits? Oh yea - that's right --- that would mean less fee income. I am going down the road back to the old fashioned little bank where it is one on one great customer service where they can actually make an in branch decision without having to call corporate. (after all that is what you pay your managers for right?) most of these small town banks are CUSTOMER ORIENTED and call if you have something trying to post to your account instead of this dominoe effect, fee generated, rat race that you all have going on.

TD Bank horrible

Strike 3!

In late may/early june I was going away on vacation out of the country. I stopped at a branch and told them specifically I will be out of the country and do not freeze my account for strange charges for a week.. First day on the cruise what do I get frozen account.. Strike 1

One month later I took my lunch and went to go fill up my car with gas.. Live in nj so they pump then charge, card got decline, walked into the little to go store they ran it just in case card still declined.. Walked over to the atm tried to take out money with more then enough in my account still declined... Called customer support turns on visa cancelled my card due to fraudulent activies by a company I recently made a purchase at.. Td bank did not warn or notify me of my card cancellation. I have one other credit card for emergencies I do not like to use and if I didnt have that I would have been screwed.. Strike 2

Went and took 300 dollars from the td atm in my town.. Atm gave me 260 bucks.. I counted it 5 times before calling customer support. Was repeatedly put on hold until they said the atm ran out of money and they will credit back the 40 dollars by tomorrow morning.. Next day no money... Called back and they said since I took it out after 10pm it is the next banking day and will get it back the next morning.. That morning came still no cash.. Called the local branch they tell me that the customer support is wrong and that they are lying to me and that they have to audit the atm to see if it is over 40 dollars.. At that point if it is they find it over I get my money back.. Conflicting stories strike 3!

TD charged my account a fee for a withdrawal by a company that I'd instructed notified not to draw money. I deposited the money to cover all costs but TD still charged a second fee and added the amount they returned so my account would continue to be in the red for sixty days and they could close my account without notification.

TD Bank service

Is anyone interested in starting a class action suit against TD Bank? I have had a horrific experience with them and I only just opened my account last week! They've held both a check I deposited AND cash, saying because I'm new, any deposits have an extended hold. A check, I can understand holding for 2-3 days, but a cash deposit? There's no justification for that. As someone who was unemployed for a little over a month, every single dollar counts. With a new job, I was excited to finally catch up on my bills that fell behind and have general living expenses paid. They've literally taken all of my money hostage, creating quite a horrible financial hardship. I want to start a class action suit. I want to show that we can't be subjected to ridiculous policies for banks that are already insured for any sort of fraud that might occur. WE need protection from banks, not the other way around.

I have been with this bank for years and in the past two years I have had nothing more then a headaches. I called and spoke with rude people about the overdraft fees. They seem to put all debits first and get you on hundreds of dollars in over draft fees before putting the credits. They debited my account for my car insurance on 11/13 a deposit shows on my account for 11/14 which would have been more then enough to cover the debit however after the credit they returned my car insurance for insufficient funds. I needless to say now without knowing I haven't had car insurance for a month because I thought it cleared the money was there. I am in on a class action.

They have charged me overdraft fees when the money was in the account. They failed to post deposits and intially showed them as available funds; and subsequently showed them as not being available. The wait time to speak with a representative is always at least ten minutes when I have called, and they have made several balance errors in the past two months. I had excellent service when it was Commerce; this is a stark contrast and I am changing banks immediately. I did some internet research and I feel good knowing I am not the only one and changing financial institutions is the right move.

My loan application of refinancing took more then 9 months and after dragging me thru hell and nonsense and miss handling my application, I have been denied for a ridiculous reason. (wet ceiling)
I have all the emails showing no interest, not replys to emails or calling me back to finish up the whole loan process ...it did not sound anything wrong, I felt I was taking for a ride after a while, but I did not want to give up.

I filed a complaint with BBB, no respond at all, called and left messages to higher staff just to talk to someone, they did not bother to call back...now they want me to pay them for the appraisal fee...I will dispute the charges.
Just to name a few of the staff Vyus Fuller and his boss Robert ... whatever his last name is.

Called a couple of times Joenne Fasnacht, Laurie Duncanson ...never bothered calling back.
How about that for customer service?

NO WAY TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM EVER

SHAME ON YOU

I deposited my payroll check into TD Bank Thursday afternoon.I checked my oline account Friday morning and my acount showed that there was the available balance of what I have deposited.I go to use my debit card and it was declined. So I thought I would wait and try again later. The same thing happend the same day.I called the bank and they told me the check looked fradulent and to come into the bank.I went to the bank and no one could help me and they told me I had to talk to the fraud department.Guess what no one would answer the phone. So I went all weekend still not being able to use my money and I have bills and 3 kids to feed.I had told my boss about the situation and she told me to wait till Monday and she will call her bank to see what is going on.So Monday morning came and the bank still had not released my money.Happen to be that my boss checked her online account and had told me the check had cleared on Friday. So why was the bank still giving me some junk about a fradulent check. So I called the bank and told them I know that when I went into the bank on Friday afternoon the check I deposited had all ready cleared and if you do not release my money right now I am calling a lawyer and calling the news. The released my money immediatly and I am going to take my money out of the bank today.

I have been looking for months and this institution has burned me several times. This was the last straw when my account history online reflects a positive balance, and then arbitrary overdraft fee which caused future withdrawls to make the accouant negative. This is the - say 10th time to be modest this has happened simlarly?

Same here, Staten Island, NY. I had money in the bank and now the bank says I owe $241 in over draft fees. They even said that the purchases I made in Oct were made Nov.2 I have no idea what is going on with them. If I pay the money they stole, I won't have my rent! I am going to fight them, but either way I am closing my accounts, my daughter is too. And yes, they ARE rude! Thanks for letting my vent, have a nice day!

TD Bank heloc subordination nightmare

The Devil's Bank (TD) is run by a bunch of crooks! They do not care about the human beings behind their numbers. We are in the middle of a HELOC subordination nightmare with TD Bank. They refuse to subordinate our Chase Bank HARP loan refinance when Chase Bank is willing to loan us 5 times the amount that we owe to TD Bank with no problem at all. TD Bank took our application fee, cashed it, denied us, and keeps the money. This is the SECOND time we have tried in order to refinance our main house mortgage, and TD Bank is holding us hostage by not subordinating our loan. They are a bunch of heartless jerks, and I hope the entire universe knows that by the time I am finished explaining my story on the internet. They do not deserve to be in business. They have no regard for how they ruin people's lives. The funny thing is, we WANT to pay them what we owe them too, but they are holding us back! So stupid they are. TD Bank does NOT deserve to survive!

TD BANK crooks at Google is how I got to here. Thanks for the invite. What states are you all from? The reason I ask is that there's a Bank Director for each state who signs his oath to abide by the laws in the state in which he operates. Here in New Hampshire that's Dana S. Levenson in his $1.5 million house down in Portsmouth on the ocean in his cove. I asked if I could get to talk with him and the full Board of Directors at their Annual Meeting that I found out is every Spring, but that his legal counsel in Portland, Maine told me: NO! In effect of to get lost, re: why with the rate of inflation entered into the equation then their point whatever in interest on "savings" accounts is actually a "losing" account of "False Advertising" of what are they going to do about it? if anything at all. Plus in our state us workers are entitled to collect "lawful money" by RSA Chapter 275:43, I by either directly from the employer or in-directly by the checks made payable to the order of us. And so when I did ORDER/ instruct / command as NOT a request to be paid in the quality of coin as prescribed by the law here of we / us Article 12 inhabitants through our State Representatives did Article 1 "consent" to the Coinage Act of 1792 in Chapter 28 Laws of N.H. of 1794 in Vol. 6 @ page 166 and NOT that of The Coinage Act of 1965, the teller said that that's all that GARDA gives to them. Of then I said WHO gives the ORDERS around here? Us, right?, and then she called the Manager over and I did a follow-up ORDER in that he order the silver dollars and REFUSED to give me the contact info for GARDA too, as somehow they think that is my duty to talk to the middleman of between them and the Fed in Boston for Region #1A. I said: no! that is YOUR duty and insisted to the point of being kicked out as they called the COPs when I told them that they were a bunch of thieves. I showed them a paper from the State Library, but that they would not read nor listen. It reads that by 31 CFR Section 100.2 of The Code of Federal Regulations, that the agents there at The Fed are private but who wear these government hats for the distribution of the coin and currency of the United States. I saId that I CLAIM silver dollars, and would even take the JFK 2014 silver half dollars too. The U.S. Mint has them, and so for THEM to put in a Requisition Order like a woman got a few years earlier I was told at CITIZENS BANK, but that when the State Rep. I told got to there she had mysteriously "vanished into thin air" as they say. He/ The State Rep. is claiming that at $200/2-year term of at that rate he claims the Article 15 just "compensation". Plus check this out: RE: http://www.northeasttimes.com/2014/apr/23/cops-close-armored-truck-heist-crooks/#.VQRptvnF99U of some robbers of the TD "banksters" got "about $310, 000 cash", but was it monetized? (;-) If they are ever caught, I'd like to see PROOF that those FRNs were ever authorized to leave the vault of The Fed. How much gold bullion, if any, was placed on deposit per that delivery of the pallet?

OMG! I HATE THEM TO. WONDERING IF WE WOULD CONSIDER CREATING A BIG TWITTER CAMPAIGN AGAINST THEM. Do you know who to complain to in the corporate world in TD? They accused me of fraud on two access checks from CAP ONE. Cape One wrote a letter and spoke to them about this and I spent days and hours on proving that this was a mistake. Finally the investigator called me on the same day she is closing my account. This crazy woman begins to start asking me subjective information about my personal life. She reasons that she needs this to make her decision. I told her to HANG ON NOW... I am allowed privacy on my personal issues that do not matter in anyway to my case. And this woman was like BERETTA. Name GRUBMAN. ... Hmmm... First name. ... I want to faint based on the work I did to come to a resolution to this problem. And I did all the leg work and foot work on this investigation.. I actually brought the work to her. Exhausting. If anyone anyone knows about any rights I might have regarding being blamed for fraud when it was infect a mistake, please call email me... valrovins@hotmail.com THANKS!

TD Bank branch policies are racist, biased & unmanaged

This branch is poorly managed and the policies of TD are ridiculous, what kind of " Bank " won't clear a government issued cheque " WOW, their discretion is based on Racism and/or age, My history with TD is 7 years personal & business with a high ratio. No late payments no overdue or late paid visa card with limit of + 25k yet this loser of. Branch won't even clear 1500 on a 10k government cheque, as well as limit my ATM deposits to 200 available immediately ...

My other bank accounts compared to TD
Scotia 2k available immediately
RBC 1.5k available immediately
TD 200 available immediately

What a joke of a Bank !

Go ScotiaBank

TD customer service in this branch is a complete joke, the setup is ancient and the tellers are judgmental and self absorbed !

I closed my business & Chequing acc., closed my savings, closed my us dollar acc, closed my TD visa 25k limit card and burnt my cards and cheque book after 7 years of trustworthy banking ! Go away TD banks, SCOTIABANK IS THE BEST BANK FOR LOTS OF REASONS, JUST TRY SCOTIA IF YOU HAVE TD! 10 TIMES BETTER !

Hi... so the daily hold limits is based on your credit. If it decreased, something must have changed. The better your credit, the higher your hold limit (ex you can have 2K automatically, not 200). As far as the cheque, most FIs have to call these and verify them or fax and verify. They are now one of the most leading scams used. They have to hold the cheque in full during verification or neither you nor the bank is covered. These are bank of Canada rules.

TD Bank excessive fees

We've had our accounts at TD Bank since it was Commerce Bank, and since the Tribeca branch opened. We moved because the Bank of New York was just not as pleasant as Irving Trust had been (before the merger...). While some of the staff were inept, a few of them really stood out as can-do people.

When we joined with others to form Wildlife in Tribeca, a group engaged in urban wildlife rehabilitation, incorporated under the New York State Education Law and operated by state-licensed wildlife rehabilitators, opening the corporate checking account at (now) TD Bank seemed appropriate. WiT does not have a great deal of money; it is organized so that it never will (a matter of preserving tax-exempt status under IRC 501(c)3 and 508(c)1(b)); what's there is to pay the costs of medicines and related supplies, and to manage funds for support of animals — mostly birds — sent to sanctuary upstate.

Recently, we have noticed that the way in which the minimum deposit is calculated for this small account seems to have changed in ways that are effectively punitive. Consequently, we are now finding substantial maintenance fee charges even when we have maintained balances well above the minimum required, except for a day or two, during any given month.

We are looking for a different bank — one that doesn't consider it necessary to deplete funds of small charities, the kind where 100 percent of gifts (mostly from trustees...) are used for the charitable purpose.

As for TD Bank: It is a shameful organization.

TD Bank online charges/balance

I opened a checking account with TD Bank a month ago mostly for bill paying as I lso have a separate checking account that most of my payroll check goes to. I used my debit card for several small purchases while checking my online account to make sure pending items were deducted from my available balance so that I could easily keep track of my balance. All charges debited and pending were deducted from my available balance. The following week, my direct deposit went through and my car insurance was to be directly debited to my acct. When I rec'd the email from my car insurance that the fee was returned, I checked my acct. I was charged NSF for $105 twice. My remaining balance was $2.60 and then the next charge was for $105 NSF. I went to the bank and called the 800 number. They charged me NSF fees for three items on my account that show as paid in the online account but in there separate software, they show a different balance and charged each debit a $35 fee. They tried to explain that the debits were pending. I told them that accoridng to my onlin acct., it's each item is showing as paid leaving me with a balance of $2.60 so why would I be charged $105 when it's showing as paid with a balance in my account. I told her I have never had this problem with an other bank before. She proceeded get angry and did not want to listen to what I was telling her. I asked her to please long on to my acct. online acct. so that she could see what I'm looking but she was not interested. TD Bank only returned $70 back to my acct. I changed my direct deposit to $20 per paycheck until the unfair NSF charges are paid in full and I'm closing the account with this horrible bank with horrible customers. How does a bank justify two different balances and proceed to try to explain it away as pending charges even though it's showing as paid right there in black and white? They should not be allowed to get away with this.

TD Bank holding cheques for my pay check

I have this TD bank account since 2002, its been 10 years up until now. Its been a loyal customer, and introduce a lot of my friend to use their services, this is what i get back in return, a BAD services. The purpose for me to filling a complaint is they TD Bank hold my PAY CHECK for more than a week due to long weekend holidays. Well i asked what is the reason you TD bank holding my pay check for? These was never happen to me before. The teller told me that he want to check the company if the credit is good?( i am wonder how the hell you teller can check a company credit if it is good or not, really? u got such power?). So i asked the manager, she (Karilyn Heckbert) can you release my cheque? And the answer i got back from her is, the reason they holding my cheques is this is the first payroll cheque from the New Company and according to their POLICY, they will hold it no matter what. First of all, i have been in TD bank for 10 YEARS. Every 2 weeks payrolll will get deposit, doesn't mean that i just changed my job, then TD bank decide want to have my cheques hold. This is so ridiculous. And by the way, I have another account with BMO, they will never get my cheques hold! i will cash out everything once the cheque release, and close this TD bank acct for sure, and not recommend to anyone at all!

TD Bank horrific service

Just when I thought that TD Bank couldn't screw me anymore, they pull me back in with their shenanigans and ineptitude. I closed the last of my 3 accounts on June 15th after they raped my checking account of $315 for overdraft fees.
Despite phone calls and speaking directly with branch representatives it was clear they would not refund any of my monies. I figured I would pay their fees incrementally and be done with them. However, my direct deposit from my employer could not be stopped, so TD got their money. I went the next day to close my account. There was a pending debit to my health benefits plan and so I left enough money in to cover the pending transaction. I felt renewed. TD had my money but I was done with them for good.
This morning my health benefits plan advised me that the $163.95 was not transferred as the bank claimed my account was closed. I could not access my account online so I called the TD 800 number. "George" tried to help but after being on hold for a while he said I need to contact "Debra" and gave me her number. He had tried to reach her but kept getting voicemail. I then tried and got voicemail but opted for another rep by pressing "0"; voicemail at that rep's phone, pressed "0" again and got to Debra. She claimed to not be the correct person/department but took my info and would have someone call me back. I waited a bit and then went to my former branch. The rep who had closed my account on the 15th happened to be the lucky one to assist me again today. I do not blame her as she truly was as helpful as could be. She could not figure out why the $163.95 was listed as a "DDA CLOSING ADJUSTMENT" on my account transaction statement. Darlene called whoever she needed to call and was told she needed to send 4 e-mails throughout the TD conglomerate and wait for their response, supposedly by end of day--one of them being Debra who couldn't help me earlier. No one can tell me where my money is. It isn't with the health benefits plan it was scheduled to be sent to. It is not in my account. I hate this bank. I despise this bank. By the way, I opened an account with my credit union. I am totally finished with commercial banks. Good ridden and I hope they all fail.

I am surprised that they allowed a child such as yourself have an account. An adult would not blame them because they were not careful of their spending which lead the overdraft key.

TD Bank services

I started with Commerce Bank before TD took over. The service stinks! I received a notice from my landlord that I owe $50. in late fees. When I call TD they tell that they will put the money back in my account that they had deducted four weeks ago. Cornela #723 tells me that they made a mistake on a paper check, not a transfer. She also states that I should have been checking if it cleared. The bank showed it was paid online but doesn't show it as a check so you can not check. It also shows cleared in the reconcile statement. I have never had this problem with my other banks, and if I did, they would have added the fee back to my account. I guess TD needs a new stadium. Beware, before you open an account, I would check some credit unions. I have been having problems with TD in the last year, and it looks like a growing trend.

TD Bank over draft fee

I deposited 173.00 dollars and i didn't use the cash until the next day when i looked at my account i saw that i was charged twice in overdraft fees one for 70.00 dollars and the other for 35.00 dollars. when it clearly said online that all of my funds was available. so i doubled checked with a rep over the phone and in a branch that i was passing by to make sure that i had all the funds. when i finally looked online myself to check my balance i saw that i had no money and in fact i owed money to them. This is not the first time this has happened to me. So i called the hot-line to get help and i was told by the supervisor that it was okay that my money was gone (basically saying it is alright that they ripped me off) then he said that he want to help me prevent this in the future meanwhile i was like where the hell is my money. also i was told i could not get a advance because i got one last year and that was my last time which no one ever explained to me what the whole advance is about and besides that it is a new year so what does last have to do with this year NOT A DAMN THING. now thanks to their screw up i have no way to make it to work or get food. THANK YOU TD BANK ! I will be closing the account soon.

TD bank just hot my account with fees totaling 105 dollars for Overdraft. I tired to work out the ridiculousness of the error on the phone, but was treated to a rude demeanor and talked down to. I was theoretically over by $9, but there is nothing they can show me to prove this. My online account don't even say I was... the fee just showed up. They refused to explain it accurately and were generally dismissive. One of the single worst customer service experiences of my life. I will never do business with those thieves again!

TD Bank unfair fees and rude customer service

I had account with commerce bank and I closed this account before moving to west coast. I had never received any mails from TD bank / commerce bank. I got mail from collection agency for $57 for maintenance fees. I talked to TD bank customer service n collection agency they were not ready to listen, just pay the amount.
I hope there will be some regulations for banks . My two cents please save all the documents from TD bank when you close the account. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAY AWAY FROM TD bank. The are some other good banks in east coast like PNC bank in east coast, I had very good experience with them.

TD Bank stolen check cashed without my signature

someone stole my starter checks and wrote a check and signed someone else's name in the amount of $350 to deposit on April 25th, 2012, as soon as it posted on the 28th of April I went into the branch to report fraud on my account, reported it to the police. The associated was very nice about closing my account and opening a new account right onsite, but now I am being treated like the criminal. I explained that I live check to check to pay my bills and that was part of my rent money, she ensured me they would expedite the investigation to get my money refunded... Long story short it is 8 days later and still nothing.. I was willing to overdraft my account and pay those crazy overdraft fees in order to pay my rent on time, but TD bank only allowed me to overdraft $80.00, in turn I have to pay them $35 overdraft fee and my rental office whatever late fees I will incur waiting on TD bank to refund my money. I had this problem with another financial institute many years ago and they had my money back in my account within 72 hours... Needless to say this account will be closed as soon as I get my money back.. I will blast this company on every social media website.. They reel you in to rob you. I am thinking about suing TD Bank all together. There should be no way a check should be cashed without my signature on the check.

I'm having the same problem with TD Bank. Someone stole my starter checks and took all my money. My rent money. In opened two accounts that day one at wells Fargo and one at TD. My Wells Fargo was hit to but they took care of it asap. TD is giving me a problem. Making it seem like I'm the bad guy. TD bank is telling me I owe them $475. Basically the guy living with me took my starter check from wells Fargo and put it into my TD bank. $400. Then the next day got a hold of my TD starter checks and took out the money. He signed my name and everything. Why cant they see that it wasn't me that sigimened the damn check. My name Is Christopher Blah Blah. Not giving my last name. But I never sign Christopher. I only sign Chris Blah JR. I will tell you this look out for a guy named Jevron Garmon Full name is Jevron Gyreek Jessie-Garmon. He is a con artist and ripped me off big time. Google his name this way and see what i got myself into because I trust to easy. Jevron Jessie Garmon.

I recently had the same problem with TD bank. However someone skimmed my card number and use it to their own gratification. They withdrew four times back to back and this wasn't a red flag to TD Bank. No one in there right mind would go to a ATM withdraw $300.00 and turn around 1 minute later and with draw another $200.00. A few hours later the person does it again at another ATM. The same day we saw the illegal transaction was the same day we reported and filed a police report. This is day 9 since I filed the report and I have called every other day, sent a letter and a email and haven't heard from them. I had this happend with a local bank back in 2005 when someone got a hold of my check book. They refunded my account within 24 hours. I'm done with TD Bank as soon as my money is refunded!

TD Bank repeated misapplication of mortgage payment

I have been paying my mortgage on time (or a couple days early) for nearly 15 years now. In the past few years, I’ve been able to send more than I owe each month in order to pay additional towards the principal balance. Ever since TD Bank took over from Mercantile, I’ve had repeated issues with how they choose to apply my augmented payments. The past two months in a row, they have chosen to take my payment (which was over double what I owed each month) and apply it to “other” on my account instead of applying it as my regular payment plus additional principal. When I called in March to find out what happened, they were polite enough about it, but still indicated that this misapplication was somehow my own fault. This month, when it happened again, I was treated very rudely by the collection department and the representative actually argued with me and said that “he doesn’t understand why I am sending” the payment early or for such a high amount!? Again, this ‘misapplication’ was somehow my fault. Basically, he said I should not make the payment 3 days early because it is confusing for them. Of course, this just means that they want to encourage me to send the payment later and run the risk of the check arriving late so they can just charge me more late fees. After having this experience repeatedly now, I feel I cannot trust this bank as they seem to be trying to get whatever late payment fees they can out of their good customers with these fraudulent tactics. I am going to refinance my mortgage with a different bank (my credit union) and get away from TD Bank. I will never use TD Bank for any service in the future.

You probably should have notified them that you were going to send in an early payment for double the amount. If you are scheduled to make a payment at a certain time, you should comply with the scheduled payment.

TD Bank stealing from customers

TD Bank Steals from customers

TD Bank Weaverville has on several occasions signed me up for overdraft "protection" without my consent. They have told me that they have a right to do this, as well as to re-order debits so as to maximize fees. I am not alone in being a victim of their practice of charging overdraft fees on occasions when I was not overdrawn. In fact, No matter how careful you are about never over spending, you will fall into their trap of ever increasing fees and penalties. Avoid TD Bank at all costs.

There have been a couple of issues I want to restate or clarify. To begin with, I have never tried to spend more than I had. If I deposit cash one day, and use my debit card the next, I should not have a problem. Unless I bank with TD Bank. The cash gets credited to your account when they decide to do it. The second point is about re-ordering debits. The Fair Overdraft Coverage Act make it against the law for them to re-order your debits. Yes, TD Bank has a rule stating that they can order your transactions anyway they please, but they can make what ever rules they want. Anyone can make a rule. I am sure that TD bank could insert text into their disclosures saying that bank employees will have the right to come over to customer's homes and have sex with their children. However, when they come over to your house with a copy of their rule, They will still go to jail, or worse.
Oh- I never willingly opened an account with TD Bank- They bought our local bank and ruined it, after I already had an account.

Actually, all banks do not engage in this fraudulent practice. It is nothing but theft, and I'm sure TD Bank will be paying out a hefty sum in a class action suit in the near future. We briefly opened an account there, and all was well until my husband accidentally paid a bill with a check from the account, when he should have used a check from a different account. If the check had bounced I would have understood-our mistake. If the check had cleared and we were charged an overdraft - fine, our mistake and that is fair. What is NOT fair or ethical is what happened to us. They randomly reordered over twelve debit card transactions from days before (that were all covered by cash in our account), adding late fees as they went, even kicking some out and allowing them to come back and charging a new late fee! We were charged nearly $400 in these fees. It's absolutely unconscionable, and one of the many ways the poor get poorer in our society. I am perfectly willing to pay what is fair for our mistake, but to take one mistake and turn it into 12 is beyond the pale. NEVER bank with TD Bank.

Hey Brenda,

Why do you think the banks automatically enroll you for overdraft "protection" without consent. It works in the banks favor. Most people will not read the fine print and won't realize this. The bank is banking on it!
So, they play the numbers game. Oh, how those fees will rack up.
All it takes is for a company that you have automatic payments set up with to make a slip up and over charge or make a mistake. The overdrafts start piling up and you unaware that your overdrawn keep spending money.
Brilliant scheme by the crooks.

If you knew the rules and policies then why did you even open an account in the first place? If you knew the rules then this could have been avoid by YOU because the whole problem was caused by YOU. And if you think it is unfair how they take the largest amount first, a. you should have never opened an account because it is like that in every bank b. make sure you have enough money in your account to cover it. Overdraft is no ones fault but your own, now deal with the fees instead of blaming banks for your mistakes.

So you call people names when you aren't angry?
Brenda,

Wow..seems you are in need of anger management therapy.

There's really no point to your or anyone's continuing to repeat the banks' policies over and over again. I know what the policies are.

I will continue to maintain that I think they are unfair. The banks get away with it because they know that everyone HAS to have a bank account in order to function normally in this society. If a person decides not to because they disagree with the practices (which are just a way to milk money out of people), they would be treated like a second class citizen.
Since virtually all banks have this same rip off policy, it's not like shopping around for a different bank will help.

Anyway, you can continue arguing ( and name calling) if you want to, but I'm choosing right now not to waste anymore of my time reading your comments or responding to you or anyone else who feels the need to defend banks.

So, you'll be just wasting your time and you might as well be talking to the wall.

Good luck on that anger thing you have going. Remember the first step to getting better is to admit you have a problem.

janker, why do you assume I don't already know this? I already know this. I still don't think it's fair and I think it's BS that the banks want to make sure people's " most important" transactions go through first. Oh PLEASE! That doesn't even make sense. Just because a transaction is bigger, doesn't mean it's more important.

In any case, it sounds like you and the other guy are assuming that I, personally, have had problems balancing a checking account.
Just because I think this policy of most banks is unfair doesn't mean I have had it happen to me. Some people can have compassion and understanding for others in this world and don't have to directly experience an injustice in order to speak out against it.

I still feel that this practice of banks is unfair and my believing that doesn't make me stupid.
Your resorting to name calling, however, likely means that YOU are the one who has an intelligence deficit.

ANYONE can make a mistake every once in a while. That's no reason for the bank to have a right to dig into the pockets of its customers and rob them blind. Their practice of arranging ...no RE-arranging, the debits to put larger ones first so there is a higher chance of over draft is unfair at best.

You must be a bank employee or something. Your defensiveness makes me laugh.

I didn't say banks look at customer's accounts individually. I said that their software is set up so that people are charged the maximum overdraft fees.
When a transaction has already gone through and then it's suddenly placed in a different order on another day after a bigger transaction goes through, that's wrong.

You can defend the banks all you want. EVERYONE who has any common sense knows the banks rip people off every day.

TD Bank service and fees

I originally came to Commerce Bank 11 years ago for my first checking account because it was the bank trusted and used by all of my family and friends. Since the TD transition, I have noticed increasing drops in standard, service and courtesy; including the lack of courtesy I experienced today in your Quakerbridge Road branch, which is exactly why I’m switching banks. I came in today to discuss 3 $9 fees that came out of my savings account and to begin to close my accounts. I was not informed about the 6-transfers per month rule nor was I told that there would be a $9 fee if I transferred more than 6 times in a month. According to the arrogant young man whom I worked with today, I should have been given a pamphlet on the subject upon my bank visits. Well, I have direct deposit and I do all my banking online… I only come to the bank in rare emergency situations… so when is it that customers like ME would be informed about these fees?
Back when I was charged $9 for the first time in the beginning of February, I called YES2000 and the woman rep told me that the $9 fee basically bought me 6 more transactions for that month, and I believed her…. Only to be charged it again twice more in February! Not only is this irresponsible business practice, but the fact that your branch Manager‘s outrageous attitude of “well she’s closing her accounts anyway so who cares, no refund” just infuriated me even more!
The fee situation is what gave me the final push to Citi Bank and your incompetent and arrogantly displeasing staff was just the icing on the cake. I’m sure that the same family of mine who brought me to Commerce will join me in walking away from TD Bank. I’ve never been so offended in my life.
Acquiring contact information to voice my frustration was another aggravating feat. I’m so fed up!
