I have been using broadband connection nearly for the past one year. I have been regularly renewing my account online. Eventhough I have lots of connectivity issues and repeated problem in connection, I have continued to avail your service (VSNL). This can be proved from my long records of complaints to customer through phone as well as mails.
ON 30-08-2007, when I tried to login, I was not able to login and got the error 691 (Username and Password) . So I tired the using password 'reset123' and was surprised to see that I was able to login. Then I checked my account and was shocked to see nearly Rs.720/- missing from account. Then I checked the usage information and came to know there had been lots of traffic on 29th and 30th of August 2007, during which period I had not used my connection at all. (My younger son was admitted in Hospital and I was there attending him)
Then I immediately changed the password. I called customer care [protected]) and raised this issue. But they informed me that this would have happened due to the anti-virus in my system. The anti-virus that I use at home is same as that I use at office and I keep updating the software everyday and I am sure that this has nothing to do with the anti-virus. I am saying this so strongly because, I had also received a mail from VSNL, intimating me that I had ordered for a renewal pack for Rs.5900/- (booked on 30th August 2007) along with the order details. I have always used Surf 1000 for monthly renewal and I had not ordered this renewal pack. Will the virus affected also make the order for the renewal pack, please explain. This proves that there is no virus issue at all. This has been done by some person linked with customer care only.
I am really put to hardship and distress because of this. I kindly request you to look into this matter and make the arrangements for crediting the lost amount of Rs.720/- amd Rs.380/- for last month that I lost. Or else I would take up this issue with the consumer court. (Because I have been through a lot of stress mentally and physically over the year. I have all the correspondence between us to support my stand)
I am doing home-based work and I am already at huge loss due to these issues and now this issue of illegal usage from my account.
