This company is a total ripp off. They sell you a membership but don't tell you that they will charge you double for the number of minutes.

If you need a tan go out in the sun, but stay away from Tan De Soleil as they misrepresent their servie. They also will turn off the tanning bed before the minutes are up so yuou had better time it yourself.

    yes I AGREE TAN DE SOLEIL IS A RIPP OFF THEY RIPPED OFF MY SISTER AND DID NOT GIVE HER THE MINUTES SHE PAID FOR AND THEIR BEDS ARE PROGRAMMMED TO GO OFF SOONER.

    WHEN YOU COMPLAIN THEY TELL YOU IT IS INCORPORATED INTO THE TIME FOR CHANGE OF CLOTHING..TANDESOLEIL IS A COMPLETE RIPP OFF

    Of course they have to charge you! What craziness is this? Are you hoping you would get a tanning package for free? However, I have noticed that they did the same thing to me too, turned off my minutes sooner. The last time I look at the timer its said 7 minutes left. I look again one minute later and it said 2 minutes...So there is definately something shady going on there. I'm going to go again and see if it happens and then file a complaint. But just make sure you don't turn your minute button on until your ready to tan. They can actually get shut down with too many of these compaints.

    It's always good to put a timer on your cell phone and start it from the time you get into the bed and verify it to the time in which they complete your session. Really doesn't look good on their part.

    This is the owner of Tan de Soleil, Marnie Pritchard. I just came across these comments, thanks to my father finding them.

    Firstly, we DO NOT take off extra minutes without informing the customer. We explain how our packages deduct minutes when the customer signs up, it is also stated on the price list, posted at the front desk, and posted in every room right above the start button for the equipment.

    Yes, our packages are set up to take off extra minutes for upgraded equipment. Most salons charge you an extra fee to tan in different equipment or have you buy seperate packages for different equipment. We find this to be an inconvenience for the customer and therefore take off extra minutes instead. Most customers love this. It allows them to use any bed, any time, without continually pulling more money out of their pocket every time they come in.

    Secondly, our beds are not programmed to go off early. That is ridiculous. What timer system would do that? We use a Tmax timer system which is the industry standard. You can contact them yourselves here: http://www.appdig.com/ and ask them if it is possible for the salon owner to do this.

    The staff have nothing to gain by turning the bed off early. This makes no sense. And NO it is not incorporated into changing time. That is especially frustrating for me to hear in the above comments, because I have very intentionally left the beds with an unlimited delay for extra customer convenience (meaning they will not turn on at all until you press the start button. Many salons have a 1-3 minute delay so they can get in as many tanners as possible, then the bed will automatically turn on even if you are not ready).

    Please time the beds for yourself and I would be very interested to know if there is ever a problem. We have beds at two of our locations that display a timer on the bed as well as the one that is displayed on the wall and shutting off early has never been a problem. If the bed ever got shut off early it would be because the power went out or something like that which was out of our control. Of course, the full tan would have been added back on if that happened.

    We have 5 locations and have been in business for over 10 years. If we were "shady" or in the business of ripping people off, I don't think we would still be in business after all these years.

    If you are still unsure about us, you can verify all of the above for yourself at no charge to you. If you haven't tanned with us just bring in something with your name and picture on it and we will give you your first tan complimentary.
