Good 👍
TalkTalk Telecom is generally doing well in dealing with customer problems, which is nice to see! But there is still a lot of work to be done (for example, responding to all incoming complaints). We suggest reviewers take some time to understand how exactly the company operates. Reading other customers' experiences can also give insight into how TalkTalk Telecom handles challenging situations.

TalkTalk Telecom installation of broadband

These people are crooks! The worst possible customer service I have ever received. I was told a different thing every time I called -5 separate times as engineers didn't turn up twice. I was hung up on and put on hold and forgotten about- I held for 40 minutes and had to hang up in the end and phone back. The people I talked to were cheeky and sarcastic . I never got internet in the end but they said I may be charged ! If you have any sense you will look for a better service with another internet provider.

TalkTalk Telecom BAD SERVICE AND UNATHORISED CHARGING

I WAS PERSUADED TO CHANGE FROM AOL TO TALKTALK FOR A COMBINED PHONE AND BROADBAND PACKAGE IN OCTOBER. RECEIVED THE TELEPHONE SERVCIES FARILY PROMPTLY BUT AFTER THREE MONTHS FAILED TO RECEIVE THE BROADBAND CONNECTION - THEY 'LOST' THE ORDER AND NEVER GAVE ME A CONNECTION DATE - I CANCELLED THE PACKAGE IN DECEMBER AND WITHIN 3 WEEKS I WAS CONNECTED TO BT CONNECT. IN THE MEANTIME I LOST MY AOL BROADAND SERVICE AND HAD A TALKTALK MOBILE ''DONGLE'' CONNECTION WHICH COST ME £30.00 + £10.00 PER MONTH AND THEY ARE NOW TRYING TO CHARGE ME A CONTRACT BREAKAGE FEE OF £132.04. THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH - NEVER RETURNING CALLS AND HAVING TO DEAL WITH CALL CENTRES IN SOUTH AFRICA AND INDIA, TNEY TELL LIES AND NO ONE SEEMS TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY - I HAVE YET TO 'FIND' THE ACCOUNTS DEPT !

-After asking talktalk for an internet and téléphone "illimited" connection, I was conected on the 31st of January 2017.
-Then as planned, I moved and talktalk was transferrred to the new address on the 2nd of September 2017.
-They said nothing about a new contract & cancellation fee.
-My entire time with talktalk today is now is 20 months (september 2017). I now know that I will be moving before the 1st of December 2017, and I am in the process of changing all my paperwork to correspond with my new address out of the country where there is no talktalk set up.
I think they are pretty meen not inform people correctly.
They should calculate the entire time that a customer stays with talktalk, without a break between contracts. When I am back in the UK I will not take the risk to sign up with talktalk again.
On a minimum pension, that £70 is a lot. Do you have any advice please?

Signed up to Talktalk for a telephone and broadband package. The offer included £100 Vouchers. After 4 attempts at contacting Talktalk, still standard response. Clearly they do not sent the vouchers out automatically and will only send them out to customers who persist. After the wait of 28 days, when Talktalk and obviously not organised sending these out, the response was that they had contacted the company issuing the vouchers and to expect them in another 28 days. Will probably have to take this further.

Since joining around three years ago for telephone and broadband any contact through their secure messaging service on the website is ignored. This shows a total lack of customer care and ignorance - whether this is company policy or simpy staff chosing to ignore the messages I do not know but this must be a widespread problem given that I reported problems over a hundred times!

Around a year and a half ago I finally got an e-mail address for a very kind lady who worked there and she dealt with my concerns professionally. I lost my e-mail address book when I installed some software, the backup did not work. So now I am back to being ignored again.

Don't ever be sucked into the TalkTalk nightmare.

I have moved abraod so I cancelled my package with Talktalk in November. I explained that I was going to cancel my direct debit as I was closing my bank account. They have not said anything at the time and now they are charging me for a direct debit rejection fees for December. E-mails are going back and forth and each time they find something new. The latest was transfer of ownership which I don't even know the meaning. I am not prepared to pay those fees. I have paid all my charges. I will have to get a lawer if necessary.

TalkTalk Telecom I WAS PROMISED A PHONE PACKAGE THAT I HAVE NOT RECIEVED

I was contacted by talktalk about 2 months ago to my home phone and was told that they are a great phone company and will give me a great package for my landline. I was extremely happy with the company i was with which was pipex and did not wish to switch. I was convinced by the sales representative that the package he would offer would be even better than what i already have. THis has proved to be a true lie I have astronomical phone bills with huge charges.
I tried to contact the company many many times they always say that they have sorted it out. This is not the case.
My Original company says they cant take me back and even if i were to try and find another company talktalk have a huge cancellation fee.
Please can you help me

I Emailed aol in Feb2010 cancelling my service and asked for my migration number which they gave in a returned email. They then went on to collect £32.49 by debit card every month I complained to my bank in May and June and they returned the fees to my Bank.In June they said they were sorry and the account was clear and I have an Email asking for payments of £29.22 per month so I have been over paying.I now have a debt collection agency SRJ Debt recoveries chasing me for £61.31 - I dont know where this figure comes from or why it has taken them 12months to contact me

There has not been any commonsense attached to this fiasco. Lloyds Bank were unable to stop this theft from my Direct Debit account when I alerted them in November 2009. They now owe me a refund of £15-99 which aol took out of my account in December 2009. I have contacted Office of Fair Trading, Financial Services Ombudsman, OTELO, Dominic Littlewood By e-mail 'no reply' and still waiting for an e-mail reply from OTELO. I contacted Age Concern 'I am 82years old' and they gave telephone numbers for me to contact, and the one which looked promising was Office of Fair trading who suggested contacting OTELO. It is a sad effort when asking for help that I am placed on a Roundabout, and time is ticking.

I too have had aol broadband empying my Lloyds bank account every month since last September and only got it stopped in February this year. BUT they have now got an Agency 'Advantis Credit' to obtain £12-83 which they say is a cancellation fee. I have sent my bank statement to Advantis Credit which shows that £12-83 was taken out in January this year. Advantis Credit will not accept this and want a breakdown of the amount as to which account this was paid into and a letter of cancellation from AOL Broadband. I was told to cancel my account with AOL Broadband by contacting their service number and obtained a MAC code. No matter what copies I send to Advantis Credit they have threatened to come and collect the £12-83 or start legal proceedings.

TalkTalk Telecom cold calling and pirating customers

I was contacted by Talk talk with a 'cold call' and was asked about how much i was paying for my landline rental and online connection. I was with BT and had only recently signed up with Orange for my internet provider. They told me I could have both services for less that £16 a month and when I said I was on an 18 month contract with Orange and how was I to get out of that? They assured me it would be 'no problem, ' that they would cancel it all and I would just have to buy a new modem and then my bills would go down. I trusted that it would somehow be swithched over 'no ploblem' in the next dcouple of days. The first I heard that anything was two weeks later when Orange called me and Said they would be charging me £144 for discontinuing with their contract. I said I would prefer to stay with them if I was going to be charged so much. I got back to talk talk and said I wanted to cancel the contract thinking i would be wjust within 14 days of my cool off period. Thay said it was impossible to cancel it as they had already switch everything over to Talk talk. I said what was the point of doing this if I was'nt saving any money but being fined for the privlidge. They said maybe I could do a deal with Orange on my mobil or something.. Well I was fined last week £144 by Orange and I am in this contract now with Talk Talk and I feel very aggrieved that they assured me in the first place and I feel they should be responsble to pay the fine. Not good news but it may be simply they outsource to a company on commision - a bit like the energy company problems some years back - although they were illegally transferring people.

I have had problems with TalkTalk - they just won't reply to my secure messages so at least you have someone replying even though it is negative.
