Tagged unethical behaviour

RE: TAGGED.COM

Unfortunately, I am sure that tagged.com inconsistencies in identifying scammer and spammer's profiles is leading to the protection of scammer and spammers profiles. On the contrary tagged.com is often harassing genuine profiles who try to "irate" scammers and spammers.

I am not alone in sharing this opinion, quoting from a tagged user " I reported two profiles last week and sent multiple emails to the tagged site. What resulted was the deleting of not only the offensive profiles, but mine as well. I can only surmise that tagged.com would rather allow the offensive profiles, than the profiles of those that report them.' (http://www.komonews.com/younews/48781517.html). The following message sent to tagged by me remains unanswered and highlights the problem. In my case my profile was unethically deleted by tagged.

"RE: STATEMENT RE CANCELLATION OF MY ACCOUNT

1) My account is important to me and it was cancelled for the following reason: "A photo you have posted to Tagged has been reviewed and found to violate Tagged's terms of use. Your Tagged account has been cancelled and can no longer be accessed."

2) I have not downloaded/uploaded any photos into my account lately meaning that my profile and its contents were approved by you. The only images I posted were those sent to scammers and spammers! You can view their messages to me. It was only yesterday that I reported a pedophile related profile to you and the FBI.

3) I did not receive the sufficient amount of warnings prior to my account cancellation.
4) Do you cancel accounts for other reasons than those you give? If there are other issues beside the reasons you have given me, please let me know as soon as possible!
5) Please re-instate my account.'

I totally agree about the TAGGED UNETHICAL BEHAVIOUR reported above,
my account has been cancelled as well without notification and warning for no proved reason and after using Tagged in good faith for more than 4 years.
Whereas evident scammer profiles are being left active for weeks.
The only conclusion to be made is that Tagged has some kind of profit to protect scammers operating through their site,
I have no time and money to sue Tagged but they are for sure liable for heavy fines

Hello I'm emmaziva, I'm very sad and disappointed that my Tagged profile has been cancelled
I've been using Tagged for about two years now, I've posted poems, I've met friends, I've played the games, elections where I've advanced to a regional influencer, and also other games so why was my profile cancelled?
I did not post any nude photos, I've followed the rules, I am not a fake or a scam so please tell me why was my profile cancelled?

Tagged has the POTENTIAL to be the best site on the Internet...but it has to be one of the worst. Their pages take forever to load because of the "crapware" (adware, spyware, etc) that loads with them. Their hardware must have been bought at a Soviet Union going-out-of-business garage sale, and their IT techies must be the proverbial monkeys with sledgehammers.

They practice arbitrary censorship, randomly delete accounts, have no idea of the meaning of the US Constitution, and enforce their TOS selectively rather than fairly. Their TOS itself is a joke, and seems deliberately vague about what is and is not "permitted" (probably so their [censor]ic "thought police" can feel free to delete whatever they personally don't like or don't understand), and it also states that they can delete anyone's account without notice FOR ANY OR NO REASON. I have several friends whose accounts were deleted for absolutely no reason; their content could have been posted at any church and not been deemed objectionable! I have never seen a site so eager to delete the accounts of people who want to be members and comply with their inane rules! They like to replace any graphics you put on your page with a silly magnifying glass symbol with the words "Pending Review" under it, and it stays there for weeks at times (they spent 3 weeks "reviewing" a photograph of the American Flag on my page!). I had once tried to use one of their own, approved "tags" (little graphics one can send to others) as a profile avatar, and it was deleted within five minutes; the very same graphic has been the profile avatar of a friend on Tagged for months!

The time wasted by their staff on arbitrary censorship would be better spent improving the technical quality of the site and keeping it "clean" in an IT sense, that is, free of viruses. One of my friends had her HDD destroyed by a virus she picked up from Tagged's site. My security software has intercepted and defeated two attempts of a virus trying to access my computer from tagged's site. Pages seldom load correctly or completely without several applications of the "reload" button, and errors occur frequently when one tries to use the site's features (if you include a "$" in a message, it will not be sent and you are warned that you are trying to "post material from a banned site"!) Some of the games and activities on the site have the potential to be good but are plagued with problems ("Happy Aquarium has crashed my browser more times than I care to count) and I am unable to edit many fields of my profile information (what do you do when you move and try to update your location?).

Customer service (an oxymoron at Tagged) is abysmal. Problems are never fixed and one never even gets a courtesy acknowledgment of their receipt of the complaint. Some accounts have features that others don't have ("Autorefresh" in their Pets game) and Tagged seems to ignore complaints about such matters as well.

In fairness, Tagged would be a great site if it weren't for the random deletion of accounts (I often go to sign in wondering if there will be anything to sign into!), arbitrary censorship (which has NO place in America), terrible technical issues with the running and maintenance of the site, pathetic "customer service", and if they could get all the features of the site to work all the time it would also be a big plus!

On a number of occasions, I have received "content removed" warnings from Tagged.Com. They are never signed by anyone in particular (nobody in the first instance, and "Tagged Customer Support" in the second instance).

They just say that an image I posted was removed, and then rattle off a long list of reasons as to why it may have been removed, and then just leave you to figure out the who, why, wherefores etc.

On both occasions, I have never been able to ascertain the nature of the alleged "offence", and they don't give me specifics (e.g. which image? Which reason applies?).
All they told me in the first instance was that the violation was a minor one and to please refrain from posting "questionable" material again.

Which authority would accept complaints about this sort of approach? Anybody?

These people seem to be a law unto themselves, randomly deleting and condoning whatever they choose, and hosting A LOT of porn and other kind of graphic content in the process anyway.
Not to mention a lot of fake profiles and scammers. Some might argue "you get what you pay for", but even free sites like Facebook and MySpace are a lot better than this!

Totally double-standards,

WIKIPEDIA SAYS THE FOLLOWING ABOUT TAGGED.COM:
A TIME magazine article called Tagged "The World's Most Annoying Website".[22] Tagged asks users for their email username and password, checks their email address books for contacts and repeatedly sends email invitations to people who are not yet on Tagged, stating that they have been "added as a friend" or that the inviter had sent them photos on Tagged. This process has drawn criticism in the technology press[23][24] and from users.[25] These emails were discussed as possible spam by Black Web 2.0.[26] The resemblance to a virus has often been mentioned, including by urban legend site Snopes.com.[27] The New York Times referred to the practice as "contact scraping" [28]

In July 2009 New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo announced his intention to sue Tagged.com for "deceptive email marketing and invasion of privacy" [29] According to the press release, Tagged.com engaged in "deceptive Email Promotions, Identity Theft, and Invasion of Privacy "

Prior to co-founding Tagged, Greg Tseng was co-founder and CEO of internet incubator Jumpstart Technologies.[30] In March 2006, Jumpstart Technologies settled with the Federal Trade Commission on alleged violations of the CAN-SPAM Act, which included a $900, 000 fine but no admission of guilt.[31]

From February 2009, Tagged.com has been blocked in Qatar by the only ISP, Qtel, after a number of complaints from the public.[32] Tagged.com had been one of the 10 most visited sites in Qatar.[33]

Tagged account cancellation

To whom it may concern

Dear sir/madam/ms,

Re: tagged.com

Lately, I did not download any personal photos onto my profile at tagged. The only images I uploaded were those I included in comments I made to spammers and scammers profiles who were bombarding my message box! These tags and comments I sent were intended to warn people about the illegal intention of the messages I was recieving! I obtained such images from tagged.com or from the profiles of other tagged.com users (Thinking that these therefore did not violate tagged.com complex rules as they had previously been checked!)

The reason I took it as a personal crusade against spammers and spammers was due to:

1) although I reported the profiles concerned to tagged, no action was taken by them (Even though I had let a few days pass after I reported the scamers and spammers). I therfore felt frustrated!

2) some of the messages I was recieving were quite serious! One of them had the profile and photos of a famous us general (Link id: http://www.tagged.com/photo_gallery.html?uid=5428234405) and one was from the united nations secreteriat! The messages had money transfer in mind! Due to the seriousness of these messages I felt an obligation to warn others!

In the case of the scammer posing as a high profile us general, I had even reported the matter to [protected]@uce.gov (Us body) as I considerd the message he/she/they sent was quite serious (I am including such message here (See below).

Now I admit I may have used strong language when I replied to scammers and spammers, but I never anticipated tagged.com reply to all this! They replied by cancelling my account informing me that one of the images I uploaded violated their terms! I am attaching the offending image here!

I think that this case shows that tagged.com would rather protect the scammers and spammers than their users!

I like tagged.com to reinstate my account immediately. I am willing to help with providing more information on the spam and scams I was recieving!

Regards

[protected]@gmail.com

"I am a retired general in the us army, I have funds from iraq which will be delivered to you in your country by a united nation diplomat. I can not receive this funds myself as a retired general in the us army, my reputation will not allow me to, this funds is a legal funds and I got it from an oil deal I did with an iraq citizen. I will share the funds with you if you agree to assist me receive this funds on my behalf. Please send me your direct email address so I can give you more information"

My tagged.com account was canceled for no apparent reason and I have checked all the terms of service and the requirements and the list of all banned content to make sure I was not in violation of any of the rules/guidelines:

- None of my pictures posted are remotely pornographic, in fact the majority are photographs I have taken of trees and sunsets
- I have not harassed or threatened anyone or cyber-bullied or repeatedly used their name
- I have not given out any unnecessary information including addresses (email or locations)
- I have not done anything that even partially violates any of the rules/guidelines, let alone something to be cause for deletion

I am extremely disappointed in Tagged because this was the only possible way for me to contact some of my friends in New Zealand and now it is gone. I am also extremely let down because not only did Tagged not notify me of the cause of my account cancellation they did not reply to my very polite email I sent questioning the basis of their decision to eradicate me from the system. If you are using tagged.com as a means of communicating with others across the globe, do not rely on it for very long, as similar complaints are frequent occurrences and I have discovered that by simply googling "tagged.com" the list of complaints is almost endless.

If you are currently a member of Tagged a good alternative and reliable site is Facebook. Millions of people worldwide use it, including me, and not only are there many different settings that enable you to report and block people and content, you can also make use of thousands of different applications (games, quizzes and bumper stickers) and the number is increasing daily.

Those are just some of the benefits and reliable traits that Tagged is missing, so if you are a Facebook user and can list any more things Tagged is without, list them! We need to expand the list of faults and expose the people behind Tagged in hopes of the government recognizing the problems resulting from this ludicrous site and preventing others from being scammed and robbed.

For the improvement of the internet!
-Emma

Tagged scam

This company not only should be banned but fined so heavily that the could never get out of debt.I joined because of a pop up ad that said meet new friends, having been on for about 3 weeks I decided enough with the teeny bopper crap and deleted everything. It seems they get into your computer then steal a lot of information then they have the audacity to give your email address to every other low life website. This site has destroyed my life and if I ever get my hands on the responsible parties, God help them
All that are on their are lowlife persons looking to screw up other people's lives
Do not even think of joining as you will be extremely sorry

I have a major ### about tagged and I could really use some help. Tagged says they aren't responsible for external programs and Captcha won't respond at all. I can't do anything on my page. Can't send tags, messages, comments, add new friends. If I try, my whole page goes gray except for a box in the middle of the screen that says (you have exceeded your captcha fail limit) I have searched all over and have found no fix yet. Please, any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

I have had nothing but trouble from Tagged . They have taken my VIP status away from me 3 times in a month . They will not answer the e-mails I send nor will they answer their phone on billing issues . Tagged sucks . They are the biggest scam site in the world .They punish people who make waves by blocking them from accessing their accounts . They act like they are doing you a favor when they have reinstate your VIP membership . They took my gold and blamed it on Pay-Pal . That is crazy . what are they doing . I give up can't get answer as to why they do this . They deserve to be sued and should continue to be sued .They are vendictive as hell .

Hi i along with a number of people have found tagged to be a rip off they are getting people to buy gold as a way to get cash on a game called pets they are now saying they will reset every ones value to 550 which seems totally wrong they also reset a few days ago with peoples who's value was over 2 billion back to 2 billion and gave them 2.5 billion cash to buy other pets. this seems wrong as [people are not getting their daily amount of gold. why should we pay for fake gold with real money when they now intend to reset everyone

ESPECIALLY THE NEXT TIME ...YOU WILL HATE TAGGED FOR WASTING YOUR TIME. IF YOU CREATE ANOTHER SITE THEN THEY PUT A BLOCK ON YOUR COMPUTER SO YOU HAVE TO ENTER CAPCHA TO DO ANYTHING..

In regards to the fake profiles... This happens to so many people on that site because of the PETS game. Especially if you have high value/cash, others will clone your account, pretend to be you in hopes that they can get others to raise their profile, normally they will get it as high as they can, drain the cash out of it then delete the profile. You can also send a message to safetysquad@tagged.com and in some cases they will delete them for you however, the higher you get in the game the more it is going to happen to you. :(

Tagged unsolicited online membership

I was inadvertently put on the Tagged email list, and cannot unsubscribe and get off. I supposedly have a password that I do not know and though the website tells you they'll send a new one it never comes. Fortunately I can put it into my Junk Mail site, but be warned! If an email comes from Tagged and tells you to click on it, DON'T.

Tagged harvested my emails, used my name

They sent me an email from a friend asking me to join and "see her photos". After joining I discovered there were no photos, it was all fake, and that they now had harvested all my email contacts, used my name and sent out emails asking others to join this sleazy site. It is a total rip off and identity theft...I have had to email hundreds of emails to warn my contacts of the fraudulent emails they got, even so some mistakenly joined and now have the same problem. Someone needs to shut this site down - what they are doing is illegal and hazardous to your privacy.

I have a big complaint, why is ljb48@bigpond.com blocked out for.
It is the same as ljb2@iprimus.com.au and I have had ahackers in on this email and all I did was change the No's not the letters.

My new email is ljb48@bigpond.com and password is the same.
Please let me in to talk to my friends or un - cancel my blue_kio1@yahoo.com.au with the same password.

But with my old email address I had so many hackers coming in and causing many virus on that old email site I had to get another one, but like I said only the No's have changed and I have kept the letter's as it belongs to me.

Let me know by the email I have just given you < ljb48@bigpond.com > and I will answer you.

Tagged manipulation and misrepresentation

Our Real Estate agent in an effort to learn about social networking joined this Tagged site. He is not that knowledgeable on the Internet. So, without his understanding about what he was doing this Tagged company went into his computer and took his entire email list and spammed all of his friends, family and business acquaintances. My wife’s email was on that list and in her effort to be polite and help our nice agent she signed in. What happened next it appalling, I got an email from that my wife was sending me some private photos! And, what is even worse, her entire email list was spammed with the same message! She, being a professional in the community was embarrassed, I and because I have websites and work on the Internet too am embarrassed by this terrible business practice. I received a 2nd email this morning. I hope that someone can and will do something to this company AND the people responsible for these actions ASAP.

Tagged theft of email contact list

Tagged.com should be, at the very least, fined $ for it's practice of stealing address books from those who have supposedly received emails from friends. Actually, those emails that blatantly state they are from a friend by name, are actually the result of tagged.com having phished and stolen that person's entire email contact list. If you receive any email from tagged.com delete it immediately. How anyone could deal with a company that steals from it's prospective and unknowing customers is beyond me.

Tagged charged for cell phone spam

A friend invited me to join her "tagged" group. I read through all of their policies and it looked legit. I then provided my cell phone to register. They sent me a confirming text and then all hell broke loose. I started getting horoscopes sent to my cell in the form of text messages from "40544". I had no idea why I was getting these but eventually googled 40544 and replied with a STOP. I then found out they were charging my cell carrier $9.99 a month for the privilege of receiving their text spam! Within a week of cancelling 40544, I started receiving messages from Predicto from "654654". I googled that and found out they too were charging me $9.99 a month to receive their spam. What a rip off! I called their company and complained. They claimed that I signed up and agreed to pay for their spam but I never agreed to that. If it was in their fine print somewhere I certainly didn't see it and they didn't make that clear with Tagged's confirmation text message. I'd love to see these idiots out of business and will agree to join a class-action law suit against them.

I've been getting messages from the 40544 number as well, while reading the messages on this board I decided to send the 'stop' message as well, luckily it said I wasn't suscribed to any services, I just hope the spam stops and don't get any surprise charges on my carrier's bill (which in my opinion are high enough)...

I did not give my cell phone number out or sign up for anything. I should not be recieving these Texts. They are unwanted and unasked for. These are essentially harrassing and I I recieve any more "texts" from your company, you WILL be hearing from my Lawyer. Stop scamming people with your so called "contracts" where people agreed to pay these rediculous prices for gargage.

For the 40544 number, I called [protected] and they canceled my so-called "subscription." I also got trapped by the iq test. I received the text "U have now been unsubscribed from the myperfectcrush.com My Luv Crush Horoscopes subscription $9.99 pmth service. [protected] 4 support." and a confirmation number from the customer service representative.

Then, I asked how I was going to get the 5 month's of charges reversed. They said that they cannot reverse the charges, but will issue a refund in the amount of $49.95 and I should receive the check in two weeks. We'll see.

YOU MUST ASK FOR A REFUND! THEY WILL NOT OFFER IT.
