I've been using Model Mayhem for about 3 years now, and I have to say, my experience has been a bit of a mixed bag. When I first started using the site, I was able to arrange quite a few successful shoots with some really talented models. However, over time, I noticed that the quality of the site seemed to be going downhill.

Instead of actual models, I started seeing more and more "instagram models" and people who just wanted to pay their rent by posing for a few pictures. These people often brought along their entire entourage, which made it difficult to get any real work done. The professionalism of the site seemed to be going down the tubes.

Despite these issues, I continued to use Model Mayhem for a while, until I eventually built up a large network of models and makeup artists that I could call on whenever I needed them. However, one day I decided to post a casting call for a project I was working on, just to see if I could attract any new talent.

A few days later, I received an email informing me that my account had been permanently closed. I was given no reason for this, and no warnings were given beforehand. I had been using the site for 3 years, and suddenly everything was just gone. It was definitely a bummer, and it upset me quite a bit.

What's worse, though, is that my data is still all over the site. My profile is still accessible, but I can't log in to it. I still get messages, but I can't reply to them. And my posts on the forum are still there, complete with my photos and everything. It's like I never even left.

I tried to contact a moderator to see if I could get my account reinstated or at least have my data removed from the site, but the response I got was less than helpful. They basically told me that they can close accounts whenever they want, and that I should just "network elsewhere." It was a pretty unprofessional response, to say the least.

Overall, I would say that Model Mayhem is a site that has a lot of issues. It's filled with rent-queens, selfie models, and perverts who are just trying to lure girls into their apartments for porn shoots. The site is run by people who seem to hate life, and the company itself seems to have no regard for its users' data or privacy.

If you're thinking about using Model Mayhem, my advice would be to stay away. And if you do decide to use it, definitely don't pay for the service. That's just for total suckers.

I just read some reviews about ModelMayhem and I wish I had read them before I signed up. Let me tell you about my experience with them.

I made a profile on MM about four months ago. Nothing special, just a regular profile. Then, on January 9th, 2016, I received a message saying that my profile had been removed because I had been previously removed. I was confused because I had never had a profile on the site before. I messaged the moderators to ask what was going on.

A little while later, an admin responded to me in a somewhat mocking tone. He said that there had been some inconsistencies with my account and that they suspected that I didn't have the copyright for three of the images in my portfolio. He asked me to send the full-size originals of the images to prove that I hadn't taken them from the internet. I sent the files, but I was still confused about what was going on.

The next day, I received another message from Brandi, the Internet Brands manager. She said that they had used the images I sent to confirm that I had been previously removed. I was being played. I found out that MM keeps a database of all the cameras used to take posted photos. The three photos in question were taken with a Nikon D3X camera that I had bought used from a local camera store two years ago. I can only assume that the previous owner of the camera was on MM's enemy list. They never asked me any questions about the dates of ownership of the camera, and they didn't ask me any direct questions about my identity.

These people have no respect for their users. They need to be held accountable for their actions. I'm glad I never paid them anything.

UPDATE 1/19/16
I found out that the moderators on MM are now reading users' private messages and sending automatic notices in red letters threatening to remove the user from the site for life if they ask any "inappropriate" questions of a model. These notices aren't prompted by any complaint from a model.

As a photographer, it's important to have a discussion with the model before a photoshoot to talk about their style and posing limits. But now, if you say the wrong thing, you could be banned for life. It's ridiculous.

I recently had an experience with Model Mayhem that left me feeling frustrated and confused. I responded to an ad from a company called "Portraits International" and followed all of their instructions, sending several well-taken photos from my portfolio and my contact information. However, I did not include my phone number due to past experiences with creeps trying to solicit "favors" from me.

To my surprise, I received a response from a woman named "Tricia" who claimed to be a casting director at the company. Her response was incredibly rude and unprofessional, accusing me of sending "garbage photos" and having "fake names" and "yellow skin." She even went as far as to say that my "pink hair is weird" (even though my hair was clearly auburn and golden brown in most of the photos).

I was taken aback by her harsh words and responded politely, expressing my confusion and disappointment with her unprofessional behavior. I explained that there are ways to turn down applicants who may not be what they are looking for without resorting to rudeness.

Overall, my experience with Model Mayhem was not a positive one due to the unprofessional behavior of this particular company. While I understand that not every opportunity will be a good fit, there is no excuse for treating potential models with disrespect and rudeness. I hope that in the future, companies on Model Mayhem will conduct themselves in a more professional manner.

ModelMayhem, or MM as it's commonly known, is a website that has been around for quite some time. However, in my opinion, it's time for a change. The entire staff needs to be fired and rehired, and the website needs to be set on fire. There are better websites and apps out there that will one day make MM irrelevant. The photography world needs to rid itself of GWC and mainstream sex culture, and MM is not helping in that regard.

If you're a creative professional looking to model or photograph, I suggest you stay clear of MM. The warnings are there for a reason. As a creative community, we need to stop promoting this website. Stop suggesting to new photographers that this is the place to get good models. Stop suggesting to models that this is where their careers will take off. It's simply not true.

My experience on MM has been less than stellar. If you're willing to take off your clothes as a model or if you're willing to fork over some cash to amateurs, then MM is for you. However, if you're looking for professional work, I suggest you go with an agency. In the short time I was on MM, I only met four people I liked. Two models could easily be picked up by an agency representing fashion and editorial talent, and two awesome makeup artists. However, finding them was like finding a needle in a haystack. A lot of people on this website are not professional. They aren't willing to act like professionals, have positive and active communication, show up on time, and the list goes on.

While I was reading all the bad reviews on this website, I was thinking, "Why are the moderators so bad?" MM was in the middle of deleting my completely innocuous casting call. I'll be deleting my profile shortly after finishing this review. I'm a photographer looking for a male model, and the following is verbatim from the casting call I wrote. The fact that they deleted it is laughable. Maybe some guy who really wanted to be naked for the camera reported my call, and the moderators were offended by my rejection of gratuitous and artistic nudes.

I'm in the middle of building an app that boasts a better platform for creatives to meet and work together. There will be a better selection process for all creative professionals.

In response to my reason for leaving the site (basically what I've written here), the moderators wrote: "Ok..." Ellipses are not professional and a clear indication that the site is run by sophomoric buffoons.

This website is not good at all! To start with, it's a scam. Models upload their photos, but they are not even safe on the site and can be taken and used anywhere online. ModelMayhem has a long history of issues with their moderators, who are also members, making it difficult for them to make fair judgments on complaints made. The site has a thick history of banning or kicking off members for ridiculous reasons. For example, if a photographer does not get along with a mod, they are banned. If a model turns down an offer to shoot with a mod for a non-paying job, they are banned. If a member complains about abuse from another member, they are banned. If someone's images are stolen from the site, ModelMayhem does not care, and if they complain or point it out in a public forum, they are banned. And when someone is banned, they do not get their money back, no matter how silly the reason is.

I wonder if this is the main scam of the site? With its history of kicking paying members off without even sending a reason, could it be they do this to take your money? If you want a photo hosting site that is safe and secure for yourself and your images, Model Mayhem is NOT the way to go.

Model Mayhem claims that it does not allow illicit activity on their site, but one can quickly find "models" who are underage and naked, escort agencies, and prostitutes. If you need a photographer, skip Model Mayhem. The site is loaded with GWC and your basic perv men. In fact, Model Mayhem has a history of hooking up predators with "models". Rapes have occurred, and even deaths, due to this site. The moderators on this site seem too young and unprofessional to be the ones to decide who is legit and who is a nutball pervert!

The models, though many look great, are not actual professional models. If you need someone hireable and professional, I would pass up ModelMayhem.com. At best, these are young girls who want someone to take pics of them and then call themselves "models". Most seem to be the rejects of the modeling community.

So, if you want to waste your money and place your photos on a website that does not uphold the safety of your images or its members, this is the way to go. If you want to be scammed and give them your money, then good for you! But if you have tons of money to shoot down the toilet, maybe give it to a charity. If you want to be part of a site that does not hold your best interests, care how you feel, oppresses your freedom of free thinking and your ability to state your opinions on photography or modeling, and you desire to pay escorts for pictures or get your photo taken from some scum bag freak for free, then this IS the place to be!

ModelMayhem is a website that connects models, photographers, and other professionals in the fashion industry. I recently had an issue with my account and reached out to their customer service team for assistance. Unfortunately, my request to create a profile was denied and closed. I was confused and wanted to know why this happened.

The response I received from MM Admin was not very helpful. They simply stated that my account was denied because I appeared to have been previously removed from Model Mayhem. This was surprising to me because I have never had an account with them before. I asked for further clarification, but the response from BrandiNettIB was not very helpful either. They simply stated that previously removed members are not permitted to open or maintain any additional accounts.

I was still confused and asked if I should be filing for identity theft. I live in the same house with one photographer and one former model, but I was not sure if this was related to them. The response from MM Moderator was not very helpful either. They stated that they had reviewed all my previous accounts and there was no identity theft relating to this account or my other accounts that they previously closed.

I was still very concerned and asked for further clarification. The response from McGee was not very helpful either. They simply stated that they were not seeing anything to indicate identity theft.

I was very frustrated with the lack of help I was receiving from the customer service team. I felt like this might be identity theft at this point, and they were not taking it seriously. I was also surprised that they did not have a phone number or even an email address to go through for Internet Brands, Inc. Legal Department. I will be keeping this email and sharing it with others. I will also be listing this conversation on BBB, consumer complaints, etc. People should be terrified at their lack of care in regards to identity theft. That is criminal!

ModelMayhem is a social media site that is owned by a corporation and run by two administrators who act like Presidential candidates. These administrators, Dean Johnson and Brian Diaz, are photographers by trade and have no experience in human relations or personnel management. Above them is Brandi, who is the equivalent of Michelle Bachman. She is a salaried employee of the corporate owner, Internet Brands, and has no real control over anything.

I joined ModelMayhem about six weeks ago and paid $100 for a VIP membership so I could post 500 photos. Throughout my time on the site, I made sure to avoid posting any images that could be considered a violation of the site's image rules. I also avoided posting entries in photo contests and did not vote in user contests, as I knew that these actions could lead to demerits.

Despite my efforts to avoid trouble, I received a notification last Saturday, July 25th, that I had been removed from the site. Four minutes later, I received another notification saying that it was a mistake and my account had been restored. However, two days later, on July 27th, I received another removal notification. When I asked why I had been removed, I was told that they had evidence that I might be someone else.

Dean Johnson accused me of deleting several photos and then re-posting them with EXIF metadata removed. I had indeed done this after learning that the site was putting this information, including camera specs, serial numbers, and GPS location, in their investigatory database. I was unaware that this personal data was being transmitted and retained, and that someone else could download a posted image and obtain the same personal information.

I found out that the site keeps all user-deleted images, but makes them invisible to the user. This is not okay, as it poses safety and privacy issues. However, the site sees doing anything to thwart their secret-police data gathering as highly subversive.

I would caution anyone against using ModelMayhem, as it may prove to be more than an unpleasant experience. It may be downright dangerous. If you must use the site, make sure to remove metadata from photos, which can be done easily by clicking "properties" in Windows viewer. Do not enter any photo contests or question the power structure.

In conclusion, I would advise people to stay away from ModelMayhem. They refused to give me my hundred dollars back, which is standard operating procedure for them.

When I asked for proof, they provided none, but what made it even funnier is that I already knew who it was that reported me. It was a model that tried to blackmail me, threatening to contact a moderator if I didn't give her more photos. When I refused, she went ahead and made sure they deleted my account. The moderators tried to cover up for her by claiming it was "numerous" complaints, as if I didn't know that was a lie. When I told them how unfair it was, one of the mods replied "we can delete any account, for ANY reason". Can you believe it? They were literally bullying me.

I was super disappointed when they deleted my account, for the simple fact that the email I received was EXTREMELY unprofessional. "Do your networking elsewhere" didn't even state WHY my account was removed. It was more than one mod responding to my questions and they were literally bullying me. They didn't care about me asking them to hear my side of the story. They didn't care to see any proof I could have provided to prove the model lied on me because she couldn't have her way. The mods are just a bunch of washed-up fauxtographers and play-models that get off on playing pretend-cop. I read on Wikipedia that they don't even get paid, which makes it worse that they're going so hard for FREE. A bunch of losers who have nothing else better to do but try and make people's lives as miserable as theirs.

It's a true rip-off if you're actually a hard-working professional, because they will definitely target you, delete you, and go on about their business. The fakers and pretenders do well there, but if you're actually good at what you do, they'll find a way to get rid of you. I truly wish they do better, such as hiring actual professionals to run the site. Like REAL professionals. Not have it run by other photographers & trash models who use their jealousy and personal vendettas against other photographers and models as more of a reason to delete their accounts. It definitely sounds absurd and unreal, but YES, these so-called "adults" are running the site like children.

I highly suggest everyone making complaints do so on the BBB (Better Business Bureau) website as well. It's a little ODD to me that they have ZERO complaints on there and ZERO reviews. Even the BEST companies have some sort of complaints on BBB. So how come they don't? I wonder if they pay them to have complaints removed. BBB complaints usually show up immediately once the company you're searching is typed into the Google search engines. Let's make the complaints everywhere search engines will show. None of these complaints deserve to be swept under a rug.

I believe we should all come together and do a petition to have the site taken down because of how unfairly they treat people in general. All of these stories are NOT coincidences! And trust me, any GOOD comments you see people claiming the site isn't bad at all? Are definitely either the moderators themselves going undercover OR just straight up [censored]-kissers who want to stay in good with the moderators so their account won't get deleted.

And if you think you can express your free speech on the forums, think again. Your profile will get suspended and you'll be antagonized on every post you've ever made. And if you try to confront them about it, you'll get threatened with violence.

It's a site run by trolls, for trolls, and at the deficit of everyone else. And something needs to be done about it. If there's already a class action lawsuit, sign me up. Because I don't want to believe that this is something I have no control over.

In reality, less than 20,000 members are active on the site, and over 900,000 have left. The IB should be honest with its members and advertisers about the actual number of active members.

It takes the crack tech team weeks or even months to correct their mistakes, and they often don't even own up to them. The IB has owned MM for some time now, but they still can't release a new feature without slowing down or destroying the site's functionality. It's impossible to surf MM because the crack dumb cluck team, run by Brandi, has no idea how to run a simple website. Brandi's main goal in life seems to be lying. If you thought Trump was a massive liar, Brandi, Dean Johnson, and Brian Diaz make him look like Nixon.

In conclusion, it's best to avoid this website and save your money. Instead, use Facebook or other social media platforms. MM is not worth your time or energy.

However, I won't let this site stop me from achieving my goals. Everywhere I go, people ask me if I'm a model. I'm always mistaken for a model, so I see that this site isn't the best fit for me. I'll keep searching for the right agency that will give me a fair chance and appreciate my potential.

The admins and moderators remain anonymous and use a black logo that looks like the ISIS terror banner to communicate their messages of death.

The moderators often rely on outside gossip from scandal sites to target photographers. They note photos that they don't like, and if a user gets three strikes, they're out. Some of the site rules are unknown, and one user was banned for uploading four public domain photos of animals. The moderators treated this as if the user had stolen someone's copyrighted pictures.

Once someone accumulates enough demerits, they're banned without warning. Their portfolios, which took years of work and thousands of dollars to build, are erased with a single mouse click. There's no appeal process, and any complaints are met with insults.

The technical staff on this site searches through ISP data, metadata from pictures, and private messages to eliminate people on their enemies list. It's not a fun place to be.

In conclusion, Model Mayhem needs to be taken down and restarted from scratch. Until then, I would avoid it like the plague.

MM portfolio website is a massive modeling platform that has a global reach, with hundreds of thousands of subscribers. However, it is unfortunate that MM does not conduct background checks on its subscribers, which means that anyone can join, including those who claim to be photographers.

Many of the photographers on MM are not genuine professionals but rather sexual predators who prey on young and vulnerable aspiring models. These photographers offer monetary compensation for what they call "photo shoots," which usually take place in shady locations such as hotel rooms, old warehouses, or even their own homes. These pseudo-photographers are only interested in obtaining sexual pleasure by viewing women's bodies through the lens of a camera.

These young women are risking their lives for what they perceive as a chance to become the next "America's Top Model." Some of the MM photographers pretend to know the modeling business and claim to be affiliated with major magazine companies, promising to make these women famous.

Unfortunately, there have been several cases of young women disappearing after setting out to meet photographers they met on MM. Countless sexual, physical assaults, and rapes have also taken place, many of which have not been reported due to fear and embarrassment.

It is important to note that not all photographers on MM are sexual predators, and there are a handful of legitimate professionals on the platform. However, a great deal of them are nothing more than sexual predators, young and old, trying to exploit vulnerable women.

If you aspire to be a model, it is advisable to go to a reputable modeling agency. Please think twice before risking your reputation, safety, and life with these so-called photographers who are nothing short of sexual predators.

I was a member of ModelMayhem for a few years before they decided to kick me off the site. I was looking for models and I gave an idea of what I was looking for, including lingerie, implied, nude, and more adult. However, they assumed that since I posted more adult content, I was shooting porn for some site. But let me tell you, more adult is not code for porn. Maybe I should have put "playboy style" or "penthouse style," but that too could be misconstrued as me shooting porn. I had no intention of shooting porn or being affiliated with the porn industry. Before all this, I was posting regularly and not causing any problems.

When they first kicked me off, they said it was because of a photo I posted. The photo was of a model in a diaper and pigtails biting on a teething ring. It was cute, and she wasn't doing anything sexual. When I told them this, they quickly told me that it was because I was affiliated with lingerienights.tv and they had a couple of complaints about recruiting for porn. However, they couldn't give me any examples of this, and I have been out with lingerienights.tv in clubs shooting lingerie in crowded areas. The admins certainly didn't ban everyone on lingerienights friends list because I know a few people still on there that were friends with them. I quickly told them that also, and that is when they quoted my post. To me, this shows that they had nothing on me, and they interpreted my post as how they wanted to see it.

In the meantime, there are reports of models being lured by rapists, and one is even missing. Yet, the last individuals to deal with these models were photographers, and they still have profiles and actively using them. This bothers me so much because it's like high school all over again. They were bullies in high school, and when they grew up, they realized the real world wasn't going to put up with their bullying, so they became admins to continue their bully mentality.

If I had the ability to do so, I would create a similar site and change things up a bit. It's frustrating to see a site that could be so useful for photographers and models alike be run by people who don't seem to have the best interests of their users at heart. But until then, I'll have to find other ways to connect with models and continue my work.

My name is Robin Fox and I'm here to share my experience with ModelMayhem. As a Vamp of Trance Music and a photographer/photography assistant for the past 9 years, I was excited to join this site to connect with other models and photographers. However, my experience has been less than stellar.

Firstly, I must say that the moderators on this site are very picky when it comes to verifying female models or photographers. I have had my super secret profile removed without any warning. None of my sites are paid sites, and I recently started using social media to generate traffic and tips during the pandemic. I linked my ModelMayhem and other profiles to drive up my Google rating and get more work. However, the new system is slow and it's been difficult to verify my page. As a result, I lost all my contacts on the site and had to take down all my Facebook pages.

I must admit that I have "white hacked" ModelMayhem once. I posted a photo of my bear and added tags that I had "Kidnapped" Pie Bear. It was amusing and drove a lot of traffic to the site. However, my love for the site ends there. Today, I asked for assistance to upload photos and my site was removed. I received a letter from the moderator stating that I had been removed because I refused to take a selfie with a message on it that proves I am Robin Fox. This is ridiculous as I have so many sites that anyone can verify and hundreds of thousands of photos.

I get the feeling that ModelMayhem wants to sell me a package rather than give me a free site like other sites do. I am not under contract and currently unemployed. If you want to get frustrated and not find a model, join ModelMayhem. If I ever pay for a site, I'll make sure to get my money's worth.

I have had model mayhem for years now, have never upgraded to premium but never plan to due to how many scammers are on the website, how many unprofessional creepy guys are on it, and how there aren't a ton of legit paid photoshoots.

It is frustrating to navigate the website and add pictures, as you have to usually downsize the quality of your image because they can't add photos of high quality. Which is really weird in my opinion because most professional models have pictures from a camera that uses high quality images.

Also, images are automatically set to be "for mature audiences" so I constantly add images and forget about this and have to go back and uncheck this.. it's honestly a frustrating and garbage website in my opinion of using it for years. I do not think it's worth the money to subscribe for premium usage as they are not doing enough to get rid of the scammers and perverts on there.

Model Mayhem refuses to delete my account.

I have logged in to delete my photos, and the website will not allow me to login at all now. I have tried over 100 times.

I have been attempting to delete this account since 2018.

My profile is still showing up in Google search results.

My name is Adeeb Howrani. This is in regards to canceling my subscription with a website I joined over 17 years ago (around 2005) and requested to have my account canceled in 2008, and was told it (as stated by the website policy rules at the time) it would take a few days to be canceled. Fast forward here to 2022, 14 years later, I find out they never canceled my account and it still pulls up in the search engines and I do not want it to affect my new job/career/employment. I spent the last 2 hours going through hundreds lines of text in their forums, the FAQ section and other sections of their website to find help to get my account cancelled. There is no phone number to reach anyone and their is no way to get into my account to go to the settings on my account to cancel the membership with out logging in and having the original email and password to do so... It's been so long I have neither nor can remember the original email I used for that account. Please read my dilemma which re-iterates this point.

As Commercial Photographer I used Model Mayhem for 1-2 years, roughly from 2006 to 2008, and then I requested to cancel my account. The website at the time stated that it would take 7-10 days to do that. It is now 2022 and I received a note from my marketing director that My model mayhem account is still up, and that it is still pulling up in the major search engines and is posing a very negative branding and negative image problem with my new career job and profession. I have been advised by 2-3 public relations consultants and media marketing strategist to have my account canceled ASAP!

The problem is I only have my MM account number, #412848, and I can not log in because you must have the original email and password to do so. If you forget the password they have the standard "forgot password?" link but that only works if you have the original email (which I can not remember for the life of me... I think I used a totally different email than my standard 2 emails I have kept for years.) Apparently their system will not let me reset my password unless I have the original email I set up the account. It's been over 14 years since I used the account. I can not remember the original email I used, therefore, I can not have them send me a password reset so I can get into my account and go to the "settings" to cancel my account. It is absolutely IMPORTANT that I am able to cancel my account as soon as possible. My account and photos are still pulling up in the search engines and I do not want to be associated with Model Mayhem, the website or it's contents. Please help me remove this account as soon as possible, I am now working in a different profession and having and maintaining a good presence online is very important.

Model Mayhem claims to reject my application because it did not meet its minimum criteria. The fact is the moderators at MM have discriminated against me and others - the Mods there have their "friends" that get away with inappropriate photos in their contests or they reject photos that in their opinion dont meet their requirements, but a sausage show (showing genitals) is just fine if its one of their buddies.

Most artists I know are tired of Model Mayhem's antics and switching to Patreon or others.

I could not elevate my case to someone higher to a mod, because they dont give you such a forum, so if your Mod just happens to take a disliking to you, tough luck

I made this profile as an angsty teen in the days of MySpace. I need my profile deleted for professional reasons and while I got a response from a moderator saying it was deleted, it was not. When I log in I do not have access to delete my own personal information or photographs. This is going to affect my professional life and I am beyond upset.

So after being a paying member of this site for over 10 years. Modelmayhem closed my account after trying to validate a question I posed in their forum. As I photographer I manage several new models and I helped them get their accounts started or start them for them. Evidentally this is a violation and they frown upon manager interaction. I log into my account from several different locations (one being my work but their servers are in Holland), my computer at home and my cell phone which can ping anywhere when I'm traveling. As my models may be with me or traveling. They may be in the another state or DONT have access the site all the time. When I got the answer that I thought I could live with. I mentally changed my way of how I needed to handle things with this site and the models that are under contract with me. The next day.. MY account and all of the models that have been on under any of my IP locations account were closed after they have either been on the site for over 3-4 years or recently approved. MY resolution for this is that ALL of the deleted accounts be restored.. A reduction of the 20+ plus moderators so that whatever moderator starts a conversation, that is the only one thats responding or reform of what a moderator's duties are/or and a refund of my premium membership

Models beware! This man is not a professional, he will try to force himself on you! He claims to have a studio but it's his gross apartment. He has no professional equipment and no actual credentials. He will try to touch you inappropriately. He is an old creepy guy using model mayhem to find 18 year old, inexperienced models to molest for free. Stay far away.

I am still confused on how this can be happening? I have already looked at competitive sites which I intend to join. But I am very alarmed as I have never had an account with you guys, I was also referred via roommate to this site.

And you guys are careless nor will give me the time of day to send my Id, etc to verify. How can you even conclude that this isn't identity theft? Also I will be keeping this email and sharing.. Ill be sure to list this conversation on BBB, consumer complaints etc. People should be terrified at your guy's lack of CARE in regards to IDENTITY THEFT.. That is criminal! Who do you think I am?
