Superior Living Walk in tub / Fraud

1 Sinking Spring, PA, United States

I wanted to buy a walk in bathtub because of being handicapped and having difficulty getting into a standard bathtub.I contacted Superior Living and a salesman for them named Mike Burns showed up and began his sales pitch. The price for the tub and all the work to remove my old tub and install the new tub was going to be $10, 500.I told Mr.Burns that was going to be to much for me to afford, being on a fixed income.Mr. Burns, having heard that I was not going to pay $10, 500 for a new tub, pulled the let me make a call to my boss routine.Surprise, surprise they were able to lower the price. They offered me a showroom model, that might be scratched or dented for $8, 500 which, in my opinion is still to high for a bathtub.Being handicapped this kind of tub would make my life easier so I bit the bullet and signed paperwork to start the process. That same day Superior Living opened up a line of credit for me with GE Money without my permission, because I was going to get my own financing.Upon reviewing my situation I decided not to purchase the tub and contacted Mr.Burns' office within the 3 days required to stop the order without being penalized.I began to receive statements from GE Money saying that I have to start paying on this account. The initial amount owed was $8, 500 it is now $9, 300.I have called GE Money every time they send me a statement telling them I never gave Superior Living my permission to open this line of credit.I never had this tub installed, please don't contact me anymore.Their issues are with Superior Living and not me.
