Subway not enough vegetables on the sandwich

Hi,

I am going to subway for the past two years and subway is my place for my lunch for more than a year.
Today i went to a subway on Baltimore National Pike
Store No. #20372
8300 Baltimore National Pike
Ellicott City
21042
[protected]

two memebers are working over there. One employee is a male and didn't wear a cap on him.
another employee is a female, she prepared the sandwich for us.
we ordered two Chicken Breast sandwiches on wheat bread.
She gave only
1. 4 slices of tomatoes
2.four slices of cucumbers
3. 3 bell peppers

the sandwich taste is really disguisting.
Never go to subway again for a sandwich

Went to this subway for lunch as I have done many times. Was speaking on my cell phone while in line. When my turn comes up I ask the person I am speaking with to hold while I order. The girl at counter says " I will take your order when you are finished with your phone call". I said no problem they are holding I am ready to order. She then proceeds to tell me she will not take my order until I hang up my phone. I wasn't in a hospital or a pharmacy, I was trying to buy a sandwich. She absolutely refused to take my order unless I hung up my phone. I left disgusted and will never give my money to this company at any location again.

The subway i go to says that they won't take your order unless you are off your cell phone. It is very disruptive when the person is trying to take your order and get it right. Seriously why didn't you just hang up--that is the right thing to do..

What do you expect for 5 dollars idiot. Do you want them to put a salad on top of your meat? Do you want them to make you a tomato sandwich instead? [censored].

They ARE trained to put a certain amount of of vegetables on the sandwich -that is one of the most fundamental keys towards fastfood; food portioning! however generally this is skimpy (to the point of putting 6 olives on an entire footlong, so generally the workers put MORE than their supposed to to support the customer) plus when regarding tomatoes there is a rule of one layer -the NUMBER of tomatoes is dependant on the size; the standard of 5 tomatos is 5 averagely sized tomatoes thus when you say 4 tomatoes it is unclear... 4 slices which covered the sandwich? If there were large gaps in between I'd say you'd be complaining fairly -Plus subway generally DOES give the liberty of free extra salads (Where I live), so politely ask for more and they will give you more -the workers are not mind readers -this will aid you in getting the sandwich YOU want, and also not pick on some poor highschool kid labouring their hours away there.

I disagree. You're paying for a sandwich and you should have to be gambling all the time on weather you'll get a normal sandwich or a thin poor excuse for a sandwich. It's always 50/50! You never know what you're gonna get. And no, it's not up to us to correct the employee, it's up to the manager to train his employeers well. He has to explain to them that they have ot put a reasonable amount of vegetables, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S A VEGETARIAN SUBMARINE witch is what my family and I usually take. If you're going to have nothing but vegetables & sauce in your submarine, atleast put a normal portion of vegetables. Half the time, when I get my vegetables-only sandwich, it's served by bored teenagers who sprinkle the vegetables on tho the bread without looking while talking to the other employees or while looking at the time, and I've been to many subways. I have to ask for extra tomatoes, then ask for extra olives, etc... for all the vegetables and it's embarrassing.

Subway bad sandwich

Picture of meatball sandwich shows a couple of large meatballs. Actual sandwich came with one row of meatballs about 1" in diameter. What a ripoff! Can't put mozzarella cheese on a parmigian sandwich because "we don't sell pizza". This is stupid, anyone knows a parmigian sandwich has mozzarella on it! Never go there again, food is not fresh, but pressed to shape meat. They should make there sandwiches at least near to the pictured samples. No wonder they get sued for false advertising! they deserve it . Should never have paid for this piece of crap sandwich, it ***

When was Subway sued for false advertising? The only case I'm aware of was regarding independent franchises not honoring national promotions two years ago.

Like any national chain, Subway has to to follow truth in advertising laws. They (all) get away with their seemingly deceptive pictures by working with perspective. If you look at a picture of a meatball sub closely, you will notice that the balls are about as tall as the bottom part of the sliced open roll. Comparing that to the average size of a sandwich bun will give you a better idea of how large the meatballs really are.

I work at a Subway and have spent many years surrounded by pictures of the sandwiches. I assure you that the amounts of toppings you see is what we are required to put on sandwiches. The photographers just spend much more time arranging the topics so you can see it ALL and it looks more appealing. How many olive slices can you count in any sandwich picture? THREE, because that's all we are supposed to put on. The meats are just folded in a certain way so they look like they are spilling out. If you were to open one of the sandwiches in the pictures, you would find that the unvisible portion of the sandwich bun is empty.

The cheese thing is silly, I agree. We are only permitted to carry 4 different varieties, which are chosen by either the regional boards or the individual stores. The franchises located in Walmart are an exception because Walmart required that the Subways would continue to offer other 'food court' items, such as mini pizzas, popcorn and pretzels, when they established their contract.

Subway didn't wash his hands before putting on the gloves

I recently went to the Subway at the corner of Van Nuys and Addison in Sherman Oaks. The man waiting on me used the cash register and then put on plastic gloves - he didn't wash his hands before putting on the gloves. I watched him - his dirty hands were all over the outside of the gloves as he was putting them on. I told him I wasn't comfortable having him make my sandwich - I asked the woman he was working with if I was being overly critical or unreasonable - she said no. The male employee copped an attitude and left the serving area.

Subway double-taxed

Subway charged me sales tax on adding money to my sub club card, and then charges me tax on individual uses. That is double taxing on the same purchase. I contacted them, and they agreed that it was wrong. However, they never issued me a refund as they had said. I would think double-taxing on the same purchase is illegal. I am done with using their debit card. This, along with their cold cut sub, leaves a bad taste in my mouth!

Subway rude

On 2/19/10 at about 12:04pm my wife and I went to eat at Subway. This is a regular restaurant we visit. I asked the lady that was preparing my sandwich to add more tomatoes on it and she was so rude on responding why she could not put more on it. I asked her again to put more tomatoes and she told the cashier to charge me extra for it. I was explaining to her that we come here all the time and this was the first time they did that. She rudely replied "well they probably did not know." So, I asked her that she was one of the persons that would never charge extra for the tomatoe. She again rudely said to me"That was not her problem." Like I explained before this was not the first time we go there. When I asked for her name she refused to give it to me. I asked her again and she said NO. When we go by they are always taking and not paying attention to the customers . We have to repeat are orders.

This is Antonio Montoya, I went to the above subway to order myself a sub and employee named Jessica Vasquez attended me in a very rude manner. I order a specific sub and she mentioned we do not have that type of bread, when I did see they had the bread. After I changed the bread and the person next to me did obtain the bread I had asked for. The employee ignored my suggestions in placing my order, was rude and was using fault language with an other employee. I would appreciate if you take further action to this matter and terminate her behaviors.

Thank You,

Antonio Montoya

I have to agree she was very rude. There IS currently a shortage of tomatoes (price has increase 55% and the quality has plummeted, so we are a throwing out a lot of what we pay for), but I don't understand why she didn't offer that information to you... possibly because SHE didn't know what she was talking about.

A week after your incident, corporate Subway did implement an temporary reduction of the standard tomato formula in order to stretch the supply so the franchises weren't compelled to take matters into there own hands (which I think is what you experienced). More tomatoes should still be added upon request, but since plenty of customers don't notice the reduction, it still helps lessen the impact of the shortage. This explanation doesn't justify the rude behavior, but I hope it helps you understand where it stemmed from.

Subway credit card machine down

After waiting in line for 7 min. I finally get to the front to place my order and was told that the credit card machine was down and that they were only taking cash. I know it's not their fault but maybe they should have put a note on the door to inform everyone that the machine was down instead of having them wait in line and then get told that. I was on my lunch break so I had to rush somewhere else to grab a bite to eat and get back to work in time.

Subway I had the worst experience that i've ever had in a restauran

I had the worst experience that I've ever had in a restaurant and it was at the Subway located at 6260 Hwy 6 Missouri City, Tx 77459. I arrived at approx 1:20 and waited in line to place my order. I placed my order and all was well until I got closer to the cashier and there were two people in front of me. I lost sight of my sandwich and asked "are you sure that one's mine?" The cashier, who was a young teen was fine. The person, who took my order and appeared to be the senior employee at that location, responded loudly that she had been doing this for __years calling me sweetheart in a very loud and negative tone. There were other people in the store and I felt totally disrepected. She went on to say, again loudly that she'd better take a break before she started snapping at somebody, meaning me. I responding that if that happened I would snap back. She went into a back room for a second and when she came out she told the young cashier that people like me were troublemakers. I responded that as a customer I had a right to ask questions and she should respect that. She said "well I answered your question". My response was, "but in a negative way" To that she started shouting "Yes maam, Yes maam" again in a sarcastic and negative tone. I am 55 years old and felt totally disrespected. I was not questioning her sandwich making ability or her ability to keep them in order. It seems she has a chip on her shoulder and took my question as an affront to her. There were 4 people working in the store and she appeared to be biracial black/hispanic who spoke spanish to another customer. I did not get her name because I was so upset. I've been to this location before and never saw her there and never had this problem. This person was an extremely poor role model for the 2 young people who were working there. If she is a manager then she is a complete failure in customer service.

I manage a Subway. Just knowing that it "can not be scanned" is a little too vague for me to know what action to take. Here are a few of the details I would need to know before suggesting a fix.

1) Is Subway's machine unable to pull ANY information off of the card, as if there is a problem with the magnetic strip? If this is the case, a Subway employee should be able to manually enter the card's numbers and transfer the balance to an undamaged card.

2) Is Subway's machine saying the card has not been activated? If so, this is definitely the card manufacturer's fault. You should contact the number again, making sure to say "The gift card I purchased from Walmart says that it has not been activated."

3) Is the card saying it has less than the balance you purchased it for (for example, it has been activated, but the balance is $0)? If so, you should contact that number again and ask them to pull up the dates of past transactions. You should be able to make a better case if those transactions happened prior to the date on your purchase receipt.

Subway - can they afford to turn away money?

Don't shop at subway... So.. I am standing in the long line at my local subway... Very busy for lunch.. With probably 20 people in front of me. When I get to the window.. I order.. And then when I go to pay... I am told that they do not take $100 bills. Now.. My food was over $15.. And I know that they have the change in the register because I have seen...

Subway co-worker complaint

I had just started working at Subway January 28th, 2010. It was going great until one night I was scheduled to work with my co-worker, Liberty. Everyone warned me about her. They told me she was very loud, rude to customers, and had been getting lots of complaints from customers also. Ever since the first night I worked with her, she has been very rude to me.

She yells at me in front of customers for absolutely no reason at all. I try to do my job the way I was trained, and it seems every little thing I do, she watches me and yells at me if I don't do it right.

She yells at my manager, she keeps customers waiting, and she makes my day hell at work.

Subway subway restaurantrefusal of service

I decide to go to subway for my lunch break. I get to the cashier and hand the clerk my card to purchase my sandwich. She swipes my card over and over but it would not go through. Barely speaking english the cashier tells me " your card no good". So she goes and get the so called manager. The so called manager comes and tries to manually input the numbers in from my credit card from a keyboard that's covered in some sort of saran wrap. Now I'm thinking to myself there is no way she is going to correctly input those #'s in unless she slows down and make sure she inputs the correct numbers. Instead she tries only once and then tells me my card was declined. So I leave and go to an atm to get cash. Once I get back I tell the manager that it was nothing wrong with my card and try to give her the $20 bill to pay for my food. Instead she throws the $20 bill at me and refuse to sell me the food. I ask for her name and her supervisors information and she gets really upset and refuses to release any of the information. So of course I'm baffled behind the whole situation. Then she threatens to call the police. I tell her to go ahead because I have done nothing wrong. And low and behold she calls them and they come out and just merely assess the situation. The police officer says that she didn't have to release that information to me. So in the end I didn't get a chance to eat lunch in addition to going back to work late.

Upon entering the restaurant I noticed that the tables all _every table - had crumbs and debris on them. All except
One table where one couple sat. No other customers were seated at that time. I reached for a cup, not knowing my husband
Had the cups, and the manager very hatefully, in badly broken english, "how many dirnks do you want?" I apologized and went to be seated. Looked around, not a clean table, went back up to register and told the male atterndant or manager that the tables needed to
Be cleaned. The young woman that came out looked over and asked, in a very scarastic tone, "which one?" to which I replied "all of
Them."she wiped a couple of table off using a very unclean and smelly rag. I have neverbeen in a subway restaurant as unclean as this one.
I wish I had used my phone and taken pics of the huge crumbs on the floor and the tables but I did not.
Not only was this restaurant unclean but very unfriendly as well. It was not like they were covered with customers either.

Issue No.1 - You're trying to lose weight...by going to Subway?

Issue No.2 - Despite the above point, you're complaining that they are giving you (slightly) less food whilst you are trying to lose weight. I hope the irony isn't lost on you there.

Now you want to write to your local paper... Grow Up.

I noticed generally that the Nampa Idaho Stores (12 Street Store/Nampa Calwell Blv.) cheats on their primary core meat food items. Example I have noticed is that when I ordered a Orchard Chicken I got 2 scoops instead of three of the Orchard Chicken and when I ordered a BLT I got 2/3 of the bacon I would get at a Caldwell or Boise Subways. The answer that each store is privately own is just ridiculous and Illogical because if you are going to post calories per sandwich you must be consistent with your core meats or that is some try of fraud. I am a little upset about this since I am working at losing weight plus my wife and I have been repeatedly disappointment of the low amount of ingediance use in the Nampa Store compared to surrounding Subways. I wonder if I should write an editorial to the local newspaper of my findings? To me it is unethical for the Nampa Stores to cheat on food items in their Subways.

Subway halal meat

I was bitterly disappointed and upset to learn recently that Subway are using Halal slaughtered meat in many of their London restaurants (I'm not sure about their other UK stores). I used to be a regular customer at Subway but I will no longer set foot in any of their outlets and neither will my friends. The Halal method of slaughtering animals is absolutely disgraceful and cruel. Compassion in World Farming, the FAWC and many animal welfare organisations have condemned this awful way of killing animals but Subway obviously place profits before compassion. Utterly sad!

Subway never going back

I've been going to Subway since I was in High School. There staff was College Kids working part time and a few old timers that wanted some extra cash. The food was good and the service always came with a smile.

No longer is this the case. One could only guess, in order to save a few bucks, I am greeted with a glare from employees who look like they just got off the bus from Mexico and served sub-par quality food. The orders always need to be repeated at least twice (since I don't speak Spanish in America) and not so much as a hello or thank you. I get the feeling I'm invading there place and I should leave, of course after I hand them my money. I don't go there much any more and I have a real hard time justifying ever returning there.

Is cutting corners really worth it to the owners of these places. I'm sure they are seeing a profit at the end of the day since our population seems only to be growing and there's always going to be more new customers then dissatisfied, never to return old customers, but I wouldn't be surprised if eventually they only catered to Spanish speakers.

Forget you Subway. You can eat something "Fresh" my dog just dropped in my backyard. I'm never going back.

The young man taking my order slammed to bread oven door after he took my roll out. Then he continued to slam ever lid to every veggie i wanted on my sub! Took the money right from my hand no thank you no have a good day...I love subway but next time i pull in if this kid is there i will take my business elsewhere!

Where I went, the Subway in Northridge California, a worker wore gloves but took my money with the gloves on then only took off one glove and replaced only one glove when serving the next person. I figured they probably had been keeping that other glove on all day...

Subway terrible place

My wife and I decided to eat at a Subway sandwich shop . We purchased our meals and sat down to eat and my wife mentioned what a rip off the bags of chips were. I told her the chips had settled. She then poured her bag out on a napkin. Thats when mouse feces and matted mouse hair fell out of the bag. I went up to the employee behind the counter and quietly told her. She came out and and took our food and went to call the manager. I then asked her to give us back our food and she said hold on. She put me on the phone with the manager and I told him I wanted our food back in case my wife got sick and he refused. I told him if I didn't get the food back I would make sure that everybody in the store knew about it. Then I told him that I would call the police and the health dept instead. The manager told me to go ahead. I called the health dept. In the mean time the two employees started cleaning as fast as they could. I then called the health dept again and let them know. The health worker got there shortly and found mouse feces all over the store. The health dept then closed the store down for 3 days. The story made the local paper. Several days later the manager called me and thats when I told him that I thought my wife deserved some compensation. About 10 minutes later his extermination company called me up and started yelling at me about how him and his wife are really devout christians and that we weren"t getting any money from them. He also told me that they closed the store down voluntarily. I told him that he was not being honest with me because i was there when they were told to close down or they would close them down. he then told me mouse feces was relatively clean and that my wife should get over it and that 50 years ago people ate mouse feces in their food and it was accepted. I asked him how many mice they caught and he admitted they caught over 30 the first night. I finally hung up on him. I then called up the Subway manager and asked him why he gave out our personal information and he denied it. I told him what the exterminator had said about the situation and that if they caught 30 mice in the store that he must have known about the problem or seen mice and he again denied it and said that he was only aware of 15 mice. the company has still not even called and apologized.

If it was in your chips call the company the chips were made from (depending on the brand). Subway doesn't package the chips.

Well, here's my problem with your "story."

The chips are pre-packaged at a factory and then shipped to each store. So how could the mouse feces from inside the pre-packaged chip bag have possibly come from inside the store?

This sounds like a TROLL post to me.

Subway rip-off!!

I ordered a 6 inch turkey sub, the girl pulled the bread out and cut a large portion of it off. I paid 5 dollars, with bacon, for a 5 inch snack! What a rip off I could've gotten a footlong! The workers at subway never know what the hell they are doing. The bread was hard and crusty as well. This is not quality service! what gives! Subway always rips off people, they give you one napkin and very little vegetables. I'm going to Quiznos from now on, they never did me wrong.

Wow. Some people whine so much. Don't blame the workers, blame Subway head office, as they are the ones that punished stores for putting to muc salad on sandwiches. My local store used to pile the salad on - to much some would say. However all of a sudden it changed to hardly any salad going one. We asked and found they had been reported by the evaluators for putting on to much salad. Also, workers are under much pressure to get through a line of customers as quickly as possible. This leads to confusion - especially when dumb customers don't know how to pay attension or have a serious hearing problem. So when they are forced to work so quickly, yes bread can be cut uneven or sandwiches can get mixed up. Its wrong to say ALL staff don't know what their doing. usually it only takes one staff member to ruin an entire line and muck everything up.

Subway mixing non veg with veg

hello friends
today on forcing upon by my friend i had a chance to visit subway rest.patiala. being a guru sikh and totally a vegetarian i never go to restaurants who serve both veg n non veg food stuff.but upon his insisting we a group of 8 friends went to subway at patiala as he said that they have separate sections for veg n non veg foods and they maintain very strict protocols not to mix the things up at any level i.e.from preparations of sandwiches to baking of breads in d ovens and even to the people who make d sandwiches everything is separate. But to my surprize when we were ordering, the sauces they were using were being CONTAMINATED, as the same bottles were used in both veg n non veg sections and the other level of separation was also not at all satisfactory.so i suggest all d GURU SIKHS or ARYA SAMAJIS or D BRAHMINS and last but not d least 100% PURE VEG EATERS not to have any thing from PATIALA SUBWAY new leela bhawan seeing which even we had to cancel d order for 8 of us.
yours sincerely

Agree...all veg- non-veg restaurants must be avoided by vegetarians as all the mix type rest do not have separation for food all the time satisfactory...and I must say the all food coming out of the kitchen where innocent animals are killed are non-veg...this type of rest kills our indian culture too..

Subway rude staff

Along with my sister & my cousin we decided to have a tuna sub. We asked the two staff to change their gloves as we are vegetarian. They both pulled faces and mumbled amongst themselves. They were both very rude & gave us a very poor service, other customers were in the shop also. My sister asked the staff that she would like some jelopenoes in her sub, the lady staff got a handful and just chuked it in in anger along with the other salad etc. I asked if i could have a little touch of mayonase and she squeezed a load in on purpose. We were all disgraced. It was a cold windy rainy day and when we stepped in the shop it was nice and warm, the both staff knew we were cold so they both decided to put the air conditioning on high. We were freezing whilst eating our sub. We would never go to the subway on Blackburn road ever again. When we finished eating and leaving we overheard the staff calling us 'pakis'! This incident occured on Sunday 1st November around 4.30ish.

I recently made a trip to the new subway store opened in maidenhead, i was horribly disappointed with the service and it will drastically affect the choice of me going there or somewhere else again. For starters I ordered a wrap, the lady took a long time even putting her gloves on without even asking what I wanted. She started bunging in the chicken and asking if it was going to be micro waved or not, which I had already stated I didn’t want it to be!

After this I asked for some lettuce and as I was on a diet a SMALL amount of light mayo. The lady then started squeezing the pot really hard in order to get a huge lump of mayonnaise on my wrap. I was very annoyed at this point when she started to wrap it all together really was the cherry on top of the icing.
She took each corner of the wrap and put it in the middle. It all broke up and oozed out of the side. I asked her if she was honestly going to give me it, she looked and me blankly and I asked her if she had gone through proper training. She continued to put it into its wrapper and I had to pay £3.10 for something that could be made better than my 3 year old daughter.

The subway I work at got rid of wraps a long time ago and replaced it with flat-bread. But that is how they are supposed to wrap them. She just did it too tight or not good enough. Sometimes the customers give too much information at once and if she was new she probably couldn't remember all of what you said. Why don't you let her as the question the way she's supposed to instead of you saying so before she's at that point.

Subway hygiene

the Launceston subway store in the city has very poor hygiene! I feel so sorry for the workers in that store. It is so hot in there i can't stand to eat inside, i can't begin to imagine how the workers feel standing in the same place for 2 hours serving constantly, sweating over the food. When i suggested they should go wash their faces in the bathroom to cool down the younge boy replied that they dont have a toilet or bathroom facility in the store that they can use and have be told by their manager that leaving between 12 and 2pm would slow the customer service line down and she would not allow them to do that. The heat also attracs flys. I must of counted atleast 16 flys buzzing around the sandwich unit.

It's hot because of the ovens. The oven at my store is at 350 degrees, and you wouldn't even believe me if i told you how hot the toaster oven really is. You get burned by it it takes forever to heal. Mine took almost a year to go away once. Even with the air conditioning on its extremely hot. It's pretty much unavoidable. Go to a sit down restaurant or a place that has the ovens in the back room if it bothers you so much.

Subway food delayed

Ordered food at 1pm, expected delivery time given within 40 mins. Food never arrived till 1.40pm, when called at 2pm - "oh the food din't reach. will check and get back" was the reply from SUBWAY. Nobody calls again till 2.30 :( Furious at the person taking order I call again to check my order and I get the exact same reply. I request them to resend my order as its been 1.30 mins since i placed ordered :( Net net things went on for 2.20 mins and food finally got delivered at 3.20 pm. But the worst was the manager din't even bother to come on the phone when i asked time and again. Even later he din't call to apologize for the entire delay. The MANAGER named Mr. Salim never bothered to revert, freebies was way off. WHAT KIND OF A MANAGER IS THIS WHO DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO MANAGE DELIVERIES ? DO SUCH PEOPLE DESERVE TO BE IN RETAIL ?

The same thing has happened to me. They have skipped the order by changing the minimum amount of delivery. Even my house is very close to the mall. The tone in which they talk is very disturbing. Please change the crew.

The MGF-Metropolitan mall subway delivery is very disorganised. They keep changing the minimum delivery amount. They have delivered to my house a number of times earlier but, sometimes they say they wont deliver below Rs.200 and sometimes they say they wont deliver below Rs.300-all for the same address which is my house that is hardly 10min away from the mall.
They rudely hung up the phone today when I placed an order worth Rs.220 today-saying that the minimum order is Rs.300. I cannot tolerate such behaviour simply over lunch. I have decided not to order from them anymore and even tell my friends about this till they start behaving. This is the most unruly and cheap behaviour I have ever seen from any good food outlet-very disappointing.
I suggest the staff should be changed immediately and action taken against just illiterate behaviour.
