Subway one rude girl and one who did nothing at all

Last night at about 6:00 me and my boyfriend went into subway to get something to eat. He stoped to talk to a friend and I went up to order. There was one guy working really hard trying to get the order for the people in the drive thru, whlie two girls were in the back talking and gosiping. I stood in line for about 5 minites and they kept talking and I know they saw me. Well when they finaly came out they stocked up the food and kept talking to each other. When the tallar gil finale took my order she roold her eyes and said "What do you want." I told her what I wanted and then waited for her to toast the sub. The guy was still working really hard, but the short fat girl just stood there and stared into space. When my sub was toasted she put it onto the counter and let it se there while she rearanged the sub buns. Finaly she put the topping on I asked for half bannan peppers she put three peppers on half I asked o a few more on the sub nicely and she went and put the peppers on all of it! (Me and my boyfriend were spliting the sub and I can eat peppers) I didn't say anything payed for the sub and left. This is the third time this girl has been rude to me. I don't even know her. When we left the store the ladie that was ordering behind me came out with her sub and said if the girl had treated her like that she would have been madder than a bee.
From now on if I go into that subway and see her I am walking right back out!

Subway Very pitiful

Management often insults and mocks customers. The food here is not all that good anyway. There are better places to go. There are better deals in Townsend for a subway sandwich. I can get a buy one get one free meal. Jerks run some businesses throughout Sevierville and Pigeon Forge. Subway sandwiches hope goes out of business and better businesses soon appear. In Germany a few Subways had model Twin Tower buildings making fun of 911 with a big sub sandwich knocking into the Twin Towers. Very pitiful. Restuarant management was caught stealing and now have spy cameras on the workers.

all of the sandwiches do NOT get 8 pieces of meat. or 6 cheeses. A footlong turkey, for example, gets 6 pieces of meat. and 6 inch sandwiches get 2 slices of cheese. Foot longs get 4 slices of cheese.

That store isn't that messy and I see no picture of her talking on her phone. The only pictures of her at are at a cash register and making a sandwich. Seems to me like she's doing her job. And the one with the stuff on the floor probably happened after she got busy and she didnt have time to clean it up (seeing as how she's at the cash register with a customer). IF you're going to make such claims and put up pics try getting some when she's doing WRONG things.

Subway health issues

Every wednesday I take my kids to eat @ subway, ive never had a complaint about them. But today after picking my kids up from school we went to subway in apopka @ 2:30 pm. The lady that was preparing our 3 sandwiches coughed in her glove & without taking the gloves of &/or washing her hands she continued to work on the philly cheesesteak. That was disgusting, I just told them, I was going somewhere else to eat. I work @ a fast food place, & I have seen the emails from the health department in which it says if a fast food employee is sick they shouldn't be working. H1n1 virus is going around, I take care of my kids & myself. I think the crew in this location need to be retrained on handwashing & changing gloves. Im a general manager @ a fast food so I know the proper steps that need to be taken, & these procedures were not followed in this restaurant. I am sorry to say you have lost me as a customer, family of 4 & I usually stop by for lunch with my boss when we want to get away from our food. Guaranteed, I will never stop there again & I will let everyone know what occured there today, not to hurt anyone but for health issues.

Subway bad service and rude employees.

Along with my doughters and my 2 moth old baby, we stop for a bite at Subway Restaurant on Congress.
As I was getting my kids out of the car, one of the employes with very bad hygiene steped out of and yelled "If you want service your ganna haveto wait 20 to 45 munites!" and shut the door. I went in anyway, just to see what was going on and what was making her be so rude. AsI walked in I saw a her talking on the phone, and the other two workers sitting down as well. I sat there and thought "hey maybe any second now there going to tell me nicely 'sorry ma'm no service available at this moment' " but I was wrong. They just sat there while we stood by the counter like idiots for 30 minutes! I recomend not to go there with the family. Very rude employees, bad maintenance of the Restaurant.

Eo925s::NonnieMous:;I have never worked at a Subway, And I do not know that. They HAVE to atleast let the costumer know that they are running out of bread. Because a person goes in there hungry and waits to recive good costumer service. and the only thing that I recived was a really grumpy and dirty manager talking on the phone. I sat next to her to be able to see her and to KNOW that she had BAD HYGINE. And she was on a PERSONAL PHONE CALL using her Cell Phone. DO you belive that she was ordering bread? Yeah. I dont think so. My daughters LOVE subway and they were the ones that encoraged me to go in there. And let me just say I am never going back there. That was a really bad experience. I really dont care you think. I kow my experience and you dont.

Those employees are angry alot. One dropped my sub while taking it out of the toaster, and tried to get me to pay for it. Of course I didn't and she also called the police and I was banned from that place. She got fired after I sent subway a complaint so I didn't care. Also, at another, a lady was making my sub then she looked at the clock and left. There I am looking at a half made sub sitting there, while I watch her through the window drive off.

I grab a foot long sub from subway on Governor's Hwy in Homewood, Illinois for my wife. When I give it to her, she notices stains on the wrapper unlike any from an oil or sauce. It was Dried Blood!...Thank God she noticed it before eating it. I return the food to subway and showed the manager the stains. I asked the manager named Michelle, if she could give me one of the wrappers so I can do show a lawyer or doctor. Michelle quickly throws the wrappers in the garbage can and denied getting them out for me. I looked at her with a blank stare. That's just what I do. I said to her some one else has this blood on their wrapper and won't notice it. Would you believe this heffa called the police ?...I stayed in the subway and waited for the cops to come. If I left, then I'm running away...#science#...explained the situation to them and they tell me I'm banned from subway. If I come back, then they will arrest me...fin

Based on your account, it sounds as if you want to justify your experience by attributing it wholly to bad employees instead of considering any situational conditions that prevented them from providing you with service. I don't know if they ran out of bread either, but something went wrong, and they do not have any obligation to share that information with you. You were informed that you would not receive service, yet you " stood by the counter like idiots for 30 minutes!" and have the nerve to blame THEM for it.

..and if the employees are unable to wait on people, what else did you expect them to be doing during that time? Picking up food for customers from other places? Standing quietly behind the counter, hands at there sides? Maybe entertaining you with a song and dance? Sitting in the lobby waiting for the situation to be worked out sounds like a much more reasonable answer.

I don't understand why you waited that long without even asking what the problem was. It definitely sounds like they ran out of bread; That happened at the Subway I worked at once or twice, and it is a very stressful situation since it takes at least 1.5 hours to bake just 24 pieces of bread. Ideally, the employees would have volunteered that information at the beginning, but if they knew you heard their message and saw you come inside and wait silently, they probably assumed you didn't care for an explanation and wanted Subway bad enough to wait the 45 minutes.

Aside from the age thing, I've been in a similar situation. The person that trained me had only been working there for 2 weeks and hadn't really been trained either. I worked with that person for maybe 8 hours before I was scheduled to work by myself. I was only given 6 hours a week. I figured things out on my own, and eventually was promoted to manager.
I was also afraid to go to management about another employee, so I had someone I knew call and pretend to be a customer that overheard one of the many inappropriate discussions she would have in the back area. She quit when she was confronted about it.
And I don't think it's age discrimination to hire someone older to close a store when federal law prohibits minors from working after certain times.

Subway unlawful firing

Was fired due to the manager and her shift manager making up lies about my conduct at work. The major reason for it was me creating tension at work with all the other employee's. The other reason was my manager telling everyone else that i was stealing money and adding slander to my name. She has fired many other people because of minor occurances that happen naturally on the work place. She fires them cause she creates a dislike for them and then they dissappear. The biggest concern for this is that because of how subway works, She doesn't have anyone to answer to for her conduct. I got along with all the other employee's great, but i had a dislike for her shift manage who was 17 and made all the other employees know she was above them.

Subway hair in food

I bought a sub at subway and found a few hairs stuck to the bottom of the bread and in the sandwich. One of the sandwich makers had very long hair in a loose ponytail and she was turning around fast all the time flinging her hair everywhere. No one was wearing hair nets. I went to complain and they didn't do anything to fix the problem.

Fast food and restaurants in general employ staff that just don't care and think everyone owes them something. They are just plain nasty. If you restaurant folks want to change your image then stop taking out your disgruntled attitude on paying customers. Quit.

THere is a place to officially make complaints. There's a corporate number on the napkins. Subways don't have to wear hair nets. It's not all the subway's fault if this one girl can't put her hair up properly.

I agree that this company apparently doesn't care at all about what happens with their customers. Ther'es also apparently not a place to really file a legitimate complaint. I'm pasting below, the text of an email I submitted to them and there has been NO change and NO response. Please email me at muse4youze@yahoo.com with any comments/suggestions. The substance of the email follows:
I'm appalled at my recent ATTEMPT to visit this Subway. Firstly, I’m an M.S. patient. I don't drive & walking is a task for me anymore. I recently moved to my present address, was happy there was a Subway in reasonable walking distance. I follow a special diet and my frequently visiting nephews do the same. I’ve preferred Subway for its healthy alternatives to the local locales. That was until last evening. I gathered my nephews and took the half mile walk, in the dark, down to Subway. We arrived at the restaurant at approximately 9:00 p.m. The restaurant, which SUPPOSEDLY closes at 10:00 p.m., was locked, with two employees inside, looking dead at us. I tried the door three times. They just looked and snickered. I took my nephews to a Jack in the Box just steps away and called the subway, concerned about the matter. The call is recorded on my call phone at 9:05, the last one at 9:19 p.m. I asked the respondent what time the restaurant closed. He audibly laughed, stating "10:00 o'clock". Asked why the door is locked, he laughed and said, in Spanish, which I speak, to someone, "it's that guy that was here, I think". He then said they were open. I told him that I was only a few yards away and my 2 nephews & I were just there. There was silence & some unintelligible Spanish exchanges & laughter on the other end, then, "uh, no. We open. We close at 10". Asked why noone opened the door for us, there was more silence. I finally hung up. Please know that I am the type that goes into a restaurant and if it's busy, I know that some things aren't to be "perfect". I don't make a habit of complaining. However, my very hungry nephews and I made a very difficult trek with my health, well after dark and well within the store's business schedule. I walk with walker and cane assistance, making two very perilous street crosses to get to this restaurant. I’ve its locale since moving to Escondido and spent numerous dollars there. With all my/our visits there, I've refrained from registering complaints about such things as the incredible effort just to get enough napkins or have the iced tea replenished. These are regular items, as I visit the restaurant once a day, sometimes more. However, to make this difficult walk, with two hungry children expecting a meal, then to be literally laughed at and lied to, is more than I can tolerate. I guarantee that i will no longer visit this restaurant. I’m beyond appalled. I’ll sooner return to eating outisde my dietary needs than return to Subway. If anyone would like proof of this interaction/event, I know the employees are prepared to deny the incident. I will tell you that the phone call is recorded on my phone and I will keep it there, in the event that it can serve to inform your business further. Thank you. Most respectfully, Steve RXXXXXXXX.

Subway overcharged by almost $100!

Subway is normally a great place to grab a quick, healthy bite..but I strongly recommend you stay away from this particular location. My husband and I recently purchased two $5 foot long subs, totaling $10.83. The incompetent employee for some reason or another typed in $108.33 and now we have to dispute the charge. We didn't even notice she didn't give us a receipt since it was such a small purchase. We called the Manager on duty and they basically told us that it would be 3-5 business days until we could get a refund. They also said that the same employee got chewed out the week before for doing this to another customer, but their charge was in the $500's. My question is, why the heck would you keep an employee in your business who is making such huge errors? We will be going to the Lemmon Avenue location from here on out. Please use caution with this location! You could get ripped off with no apology.

Subway poor customer service

I ordered a foot long BLT with extra bacon, like I have many, many times in the past. When the order was rung up, I was charged $7.40 for the sub. When I asked why this amount I would told that was the charge for what I ordered. I explained that I wanted extra bacon for $1.00 as the sign clearly said, not double bacon for $2.40 as the sign also clearly said. The taller blond haired girl that identified herself as the manager said that it was a matter of my choice of words and the next time I should clarify that I wanted 4 extra pieces. She then proceeded to remove the 4 pieces of bacon from my already packaged sub and re rang my order. My complaint is about her attitude towards a middle aged customer. She was most condescending and arrogant.

Hi i got a coupons of free 6 inch sandwich and it's expire date will be on January 16, 2011. Yesterday Jan 14, 2011 I went to the Subway Store and I was asking for the free sandwich and he was replied with the rude answer and said we were not taking this kind of coupons any more and asked did you have a receipt for that? I said well I got this coupons as a gift and it's doesn't say anything in the coupons like you have to show your receipt when you are going to buy a free sandwich with this coupons well i was really very a disappointed with that kind of customer service and also that guy told me it's a message from Subway head quarter you have to ask the receipt when any person has this kind of receipt well i don't know the truth but i wanna just know is this a true? because if it is true so why the subway introduce this kind of coupons in the market to make the people fool i hope I will be contacted from the subway head quarter with an acknowledge answer. I just left Subway #3219 in San Clemente, CA (Aug 31, 2010 - 3:30pm)

I ask for a Turkey Avacado Sand plus I'd like to add some ham on it as well. THEY SAID NO, I then said I want to pay extra to add some ham & they still said NO. I then talked to the "shift leader" & they still said NO. next I asked is there any way I can order Turkey & Ham on the same sandwich? THEY STILL SAID NO, so I told them I want the number to their corporite office as I want to make a complaint.

WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE? people like this should be fired & the store closed if they can not meet simple customer requests.

I'll say I'm neutral because I work at a Subway and when you get any other sub and say you want to add bacon, it's clear that you want those 4 pieces. But if you get a bacon sub, it's hard to know, and most people say "extra meat" to mean "double meat". 99% of the time when someone has told me they wanted "extra bacon" on their BLT, they've meant double. But, at the same time, I almost always ask if they mean "extra as in double the meat, or just four pieces extra". Did you see her putting the bacon on the sub in the beginning? I would have stopped her and said "I meant just four pieces extra I don't need the double amount". Before she had already closed it, wrapped it, and was ringing you up. After a very long day working and having more work to do in the back, it's stressful when customers aren't clear about what they want and then complain when you ring them up.

Subway rude staff, overcharging

I was greeted by a young Asian woman who barely spoke English. I guarantee her only "knowlege" would be Subway terminology, and even then, it was difficult to understand her and she could not seem to understand the words "Cold cut on Honey oat" or "Veggie patty on Italian herbs and cheese". We repeated our order several times.

The 2nd CSR was an older lady. She rolled her eyes at us twice and was very rude when I asked her to take the lettuce of my sandwich because I had not requested it.

When it was time to pay, I asked that $11 be put on my credit card and the balance of $1.72 I would pay in cash. I have been able to make a transaction like this in many stores in Canada. I understand that different machines do different things, but was this a technical issue or a worker that was too rude and lazy to accomodate the customer?

At the end of the transaction, I asked for a pop cup, as I had purchased a meal. I was told that the pop machine was out of order and I would have to get a bottle drink. Pop machine not working = forced to consume 30 cent more expensive bottle. And that's all fine. Except, (and this is where it's really the principle and not the $) why should I have to pay the extra money for something I am being forced into? My options should have either been to not get a drink at all or to be given the bottle at no extra charge. I had paid for everything before I was aware of the machine being out of order.

It is the restaurant's problem if they are having issues with their equipment. It is not up to me as the customer to have to financially compensate for their messed up fountain drink machine.

Everyone makes good points about his trolling habits. I guess I just have this feeling that if he acts like that to a bunch of strangers over the internet, he must not be a very nice person in real life. You've got to wonder what he could be capable of.

I think he got banned again. My inbox said there were 13 new posts, but I can only find 2.

Jason, quite seriously, you have no right to talk about anyone's intelligence. What are your grades like? Did you get 90s in English throughout high school and university? Oh wait, I forgot. You are an admitted high school drop out.

I will be starting a Graduate program in Public Health in about a year's time. I'm quite positive that I'm not a child, especially when I am university educated. I rarely make a spelling mistake. Although, if I do, I can admit to it.

You need to find something better to do with your time. Get a life, an education and a job. Maybe try volunteering? Although, no one will want to hire you. You're an ignorant, dysfunctional half-wit.

The reason Trevor spelled allowance with an "e" and no "a" is because he was making fun of you. You spelled it like that once when you had your "Jason Tillo" account. I remember it, but there's no hard evidence as that account and all posts were deleted. Either way, you need some serious help.

I will find out your I.P. address and report you to the police. You are dirt and you are going down.

Fine, I'm racist. I couldn't care less. I've worked hard and I'm entitled to standards that are not sub-par.

By the way, you annoying little troll, I'm a woman. Not a man. A lady. So quit calling me a "he". I guess I can start refering to you as a tranny? You seem to think you're entitled to making up things about people. Freedom of speech says I can too.

GTA is Greater Toronto Area. It encompasses some bouroughs and cities as well as Toronto.

The strict on candy thing isn't about allergies though, it's about religious beliefs. It gets annoying after awhile to not be able to bring treats for your students because 15 kids can't eat anything.

It is pretty rude not to stand for your national anthem. We don't pledge allegiance anymore though. I guess that went away when we stopped singing "God Save the Queen".

That Walmart scenario is so reminiscent of many incidents I have witnessed.

I just looked up the state of California's demographics. Here's the stats from the last census (2006).

59.8% White American
12.3% Asian American
6.2% Black or African American
0.7% American Indian
3.3% mixed, and 17.3% of some other race.

Seems California has the largest population of White Americans as well.

Trevor, thank you so much for understanding what I mean.

If I said she should stay in her own country, I have to apologize that I came across that way. I guess I meant that no one ( not white, not brown, not black) should think of moving to Canada if they can't pull their own weight and try and meet the minium standards to fit it. Maybe our government should grow a pair and stop being so lax about immigration. But, I guess that's another issue.

I totally get what you mean in your post. I've had so many experiences that are very similar. It is so frustrating to try and make a purchase and people suddenly have no regard for a line or any respect for other people. I would never jump a line and I always make sure the offender knows when they've done it to me. Reverse racism is alive and well in Toronto.

Why are any of these immigrants above the law? What makes it okay for them to evade taxes and steal and pirate?

My cousin is an elementary school teacher in the GTA. She says that she has to be careful about any candy she buys for the classroom - no gelatin allowed for muslims. There are also no school photos for some muslims. She also said that out of 30 or so kids in her class, 5 stand for the national anthem. Why is this happening?!?!?!?

The worst thing I've ever heard is that a few years back in an area of Toronto, all the signs in a commercial area were in Mandarin. There was an emergency where an ambulance was needed by a man who had a heart attack. The paramedics couldn't find the address because nothing was written in English and the man died. Is that okay? Not at all!

My family is pretty much all WASP. I'm a 4th generation Canadian with ancestry being mostly British and German. My paternal grandmother was part Native. She descended from Tecumseh's tribe in Ohio.

And I'm quite positive that it's no one's business what my credit is like. I knew that I had $11 left on it (had made a few purchases that day), I hadn't gotten around to paying it yet.

NonnieMouse, you live in a completely different society than I do and you don't see what I see. In Canada, there is a "cultural mosaic". In the States, it's a "cultural melting pot". Do you understand the difference?

People get hurt by diversity. Qualified candidates get passed over, and unqualified persons get positions beyond their capabilities. Educations are denied. Excellent businesses never get funded, meaning jobs don't get created. Shaky businesses get government guaranteed loans, and they default. Careers and businesses get ruined. The taxpayers pick up the tab.

Most immigrants from Asia, live off welfare, work under the table and have houses and cottages and cars and DON'T PAY THEIR TAXES. I work hard, pay my bills, go to school and all for what? So some brown family can afford a pool?

I'm entitled to my opinion and you are entitled to yours. But, until you have experienced a cultural mosaic, you understand how I feel. I get why you feel the way you do. You live in Georgia and I've just looked up the demographics. The state's percentage of white people is 65.6 %, the percentage of black people is 30% and percentage of asians is 2.8%. These are based on 2007 figures.

http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/13000.html

Toronto's demographic - 2.1 million people (2006 stats) are a "visible minority". Meaning asian, black, latin american and filipino.

Me being racist has very little to do with it. The stats speak for themselves. It's the culture of these immigrants; they live for free hand-outs. I know that tons of white people are on welfare, but they aren't trying to evade their taxes or make our government give money to relief efforts in a country they don't even live in anymore.

Racism only seems wrong because everyone says it is, but sometimes, it really isn't. It's a feeling of being taken over by aliens and I detest it. Freedom of speech is something I'm also entitled to.

It's damn annoying to go into a store in my country where the official languages are English and French and receive "service" from someone who doesn't speak either language. In that respect, yes, maybe I am racist. Unfortunately, I live in a country that is considered a "cultural mosaic". Many immigrants take the minimum wage jobs and customer service takes a downturn.

No one asked her to immigrate to Canada. I wouldn't dream of going to an Asian country and expecting service in English. If she wants to live here, she should be able to fit in properly. If not, she never should have moved here and can go back to speaking whatever language she chooses in her own country.

"Knowlege" was spelled that way as a joke. To make fun of the lack of English skills.
I love how you mention that my parents didn't give me enough allowance (with an "a", my friend).
I'm in my 20s and my parents live seven hours away. I'm a health inspector; money is never an issue.

To clarify, maybe you didn't understand, no fountain pop was available - the machine was out of order. I paid my bill before I was aware of that fact. I was told I had to go with a bottle. There was no refund offered. It's not the paying 30 cents that bothers me. It could have been a penny extra or 100 dollars extra and it still would be the principle. I have never heard of charging the customer for a more expensive product when the generic one is not available.

To be honest, maybe it's a Canadian consumer thing, but I've been in similar situations before in pharmacies, retail stores and restaurants and I've never been over-charged if the desired product was not available. I was either given a rain-check, a coupon, or a discount on the spot for a similar product.

I'm sick to death of political correctness. You know what, Indians smell, because they don't wear deodorant and take daily showers. Is that a horrifically racist thing to say, when it is the truth?

Wouldn't it be better to keep saying it over and over, making it commonplace, so that eventually they understand, that when in civilized countries like the US or Canada, if you really want to fit into the "melting pot", you should pay more attention to the norms of society?

Polical Correctness and finger pointing at perceived "racists" are just another form of censorship.

I am on your side about the complaint. However I have read all the replies on this board. Generally if you do contact the police like Trevor said they cannot do anything about it. Infact you may get into trouble or they may laugh at you for making a complaint.

We had people who claimed to abuse their children, who have claimed to stealing from restaurants. I would hope in my state that the police would dedicate more time into finding internet pedophiles and people who admit to abusing their children online rather than rude teenagers. Teenagers will try to annoy you. They can be disrespectful. Trolling is on a rampage(sp) on the internet, if the police went after every troll real life crimes would increase.

Jason, Trevor was referring to Zachary as the child not the OP. You know that, Phitt29 knows this, everyone knows so stop playing dumb.

You can keep on getting banned and have an account Jason Tillo account number 1, 000, 000 but one day you will realise what a fool you are making of yourself. You obviously are not as dumb as people think. Try to be polite to those you disagree with. You do not have to agree with them, but be more polite.

If you can report internet trolling to the police juvenile hall would be full and the jails would be full. As much of a brat Jason is unfortunately the best thing to do is ignore him. The police cannot do anything since you too replied to him. The thing with Jason is he strives for attention. If people don't reply to him he will stop posting negative comments. He brings out the worst in everyone. I played with him at first on account number one, however I have ignored him, or rather tried to.

"I will find out your I.P. address and report you to the police. You are dirt and you are going down."

Good luck with that, they have more important things to do than worrying about an internet troll. If I found out my police officers were trying to track down trolls when there are credit card scammers and online preditors then I would complain. This site needs an ignore feature.

Jason before you go around belittling a child for his spelling and grammar I suggest you go and get a dictionary. Perhaps you can buy one with the "allowence" your parents gave you.

Sorry phiit29, I would save my breath, just look at his account username. He has already been banned twice and this is his third account. I can sympathize and I don't care who says I am a racist, it's a free country and as long as I don't blatantly discriminate against someone, i can dislike whatever ethnic group I like.

I personally stopped going to Subways a few years ago when every location suddenly seemed to have a greasy indian installed behind the counter. Gross do not touch my food please. Hair should be washed daily and gloves should be worn when handling and preparing my sandwich items.

I turn around and walk right out of any food place where I see them working. Its not like there isn't a million places to choose from.

I don't think you are racist as other's have suggested Phitt. NonnieMouse posted she hates Canadians both male and female because they are self centered, not that is Racist. You are not. The only problem I have is with your comment that she should stay in her own country. I agree with you however that she should learn the basic English Language.

It is quite frustrating when someone does not speak your language.

Where I live, Markham we have the same problem. I live just close to GTA.

I have two simular experiences.

First there is an Asian Store. T&T supermarkets(I am sure you have seen them around) They have a buffet, where yon can select two items, three items or four items. Apparently the person working behind the counter has limited English. I ordered a four item combo. She only put two items in the combo and had the nerve to tell me that I asked for two items when I told her nicely I asked for four.

A second time they gave me two different meals when I asked for one. This was an annoyance I could have chosen to pay for one and left the other to rot, however I choose to take both meals home and heat the second and eat it later. It saves having to cook for the next meal so some good came out of it. However if you want to live in a country unless you are elderly you should at least make an attempt to learn how to speak their language. There is a joke going around where I live. You know how in school children are required to learn English, an French. Well there is a joke that Canada will have a third official language and children in school will require to learn Chinese as well.

All this happened in the same store.

Then there is a second Asian store. All their pages and signs are in Asian. Most of their customers are Asian however they get people from other backgrounds as well. They clearly do not want non Asian customers because if you are in line next and an Asian person is behind you they will serve the Asian person first and their other customers later. Not only do they serve them first they start up a conversation and completely ignore everyone else waiting until the converstation is over.

Then there was the incident where they refused to accept my loose change which by law they have to accept. They can be charged if they don't. Anyways that store has lots of illegal prastices and no one not even the security by the mall does anything about it. They steal shopping carts, strip them and put their logo on them. They have people selling pirated movies outside the store. No one reports it and mall security ignores it.

It is not the restaurant's fault if the equipment stops working. These things happen and they have to call for repairs. In cases like this however it would be nice if they told you up front of charged you the same price for the cup that you had to fill out, because it is not your fault, however it is not the restaurant's fault however.

Subway poor customers

I would first like to take this opportunity to thank all of those people who do care about the person behind the counter. Also, those of you who are using this site for it's intended purpose. However, seeing as how I still have a complaint, I'm going ahead with it.

I would like to complain about bad customers. I work at a Subway that operates in a mall food court, and have been working there for nearly a year now. I've seen some good customers, but more often than not, people are just plain rude. I know that I'm supposed to be serving you, but I'm not a slave, and I am most certainly not lower than you, so don't treat me or any of us as such. We work harder than you can imagine, and we don't need your attitude.

Just because we make a mistake doesn't mean that we're incompetent. We're only human. We aren't the ultra-super-robot-sandwich-machines that people think we are. Our sandwiches will NOT come out looking like the image, and we can't tell if you're saying "light mayo" or "lite mayo." And we don't have any control over the bread, okay? Our managers are supposed to make it when they open the place, so if it's hard or looks burned (which it ISN'T) it's their fault and not ours. We're just trying to do our job.

It is harder than you think to make sandwiches and keep our store clean than you think. Especially on a busy day. If you come in at 7:30 PM, and our area is a mess, it's not because we're slobs. It's because we have such a heavy workload that we can't keep the place clean and work at the same time. And our manager only schedules two or three people a shift, and one person for the night shift on all weekdays but Friday. So it isn't our fault we don't have enough people.

It doesn't matter what side of the bread I put the condiments on. I don't care if you only want veggies on the bottom, with mayo only on the top and ranch on the bottom. THE SANDWICH IS GETTING CLOSED ANYWAY. Stop freaking out over mistakes.

We are working as hard as we can, and most of the time just want to get you through line so we can close on time. Please, please, PLEASE don't ask what our Five Dollar Footlongs are when there's a BRIGHT ORANGE SIGN not two feet from your face.

If we say we can't make a sandwich, we can't make a sandwich. All of the sandwiches MUST be the designated sandwiches. That means NO, you CAN'T have your turkey-salami-tuna with extra shredded cheese. Also, only seven of the Five Dollar Footlongs will be the same everywhere. And the amount differs. Chicago has eleven, we have eight. Live with it.

Thank you for your time. You might start saying stuff about 'the customer is always right, ' but to be honest, the customer deserves the bad service he or she gets 99% of the time. Here's the deal: you get off your high horse and we'll be more civil. It isn't that hard. Just because you earn 35K a year and we work for minimum wage does not mean that you are working harder than us, or are better than us. We just want a little respect.

I have yet to refuse a customer. And we gripe and complain all the time. We also microwave people's baby bottles and give 25 cent waters. It's just...those few people who have a superiority complex who should go do something anatomically impossible.

And we gripe ALL THE TIME when we aren't up front, even if our manager's around. He doesn't care. Just so long as we don't start the rudefest.

H2N2, you took the words right out of my mouth. I have worked in customer service for almost ten years now and although I don't always feel like dealing with people, I still smile and greet them pleasantly. These people that claim CSRs started yelling at them for no reason most likely DID deserve that treatment. Conveniently, they leave out the side of the story that makes them look bad.
Thanks for trying to inform people of how us workers feel!

Subway - very rude employee

My husband went into a Subway restaurant tonight. We were waited on by a young girl. After she started to fix our sandwich she started to sneeze. She turned away from the bread and then excused herself so she could go to the back. She probably washed her hands and changed her gloves. This is not a complaint about the girl. Subway disgusting handling of food

I went to the Subway next to the Albertson's on the corner of Blubonnet and Burbank in Baton Rouge. It was about 2 PM Sat. April 25th. First thing when I walked in it was hot. There were 2 people ahead of me. The 2 people making the sandwiches were sweating. One of them had their child behind the counter. I watched her and the other girl made sandwich after sandwich without changing gloves or washing their hands! She took her gloves off to ring up the customers and put the sam gloves back on. How disgusting is that! then I asked if she was goiing to change her gloves and she got an attitude with me. She told me she did not have to change her gloves. I also forgot to mention that at the same time they were making sandwiches they were grabbing handles on the frig and the container where they keep the bread . After she got attitude with me the other girl who had just wiped the sweat from her forehead with her gloved hand stuck her hand in my sandwich. Needless to say I told them to keep the sandwich.

You know the subway near me i eat at twice a week, recently i've ben noticing their glove use as well. They wear them to do EVERYTHING. Then prepare your food with them! I think they think the gloves are just so their hands don't get dirty. from opening that bread cabinet to wiping down the counter where they prepare everything etc they still wear the same ole gloves. its uncomfortable to tell someone to change their gloves.

I agree its gross and its turning me off Subway now.. as soon as i start thinking about my foods cleanliness more than the food itself, i start thinking of finding another lunch spot

Subway - bait and switch false advertising

I think everyone has heard Subway's advertised $5 Footlong Sub deal either on TV or the radio, or has seen it in print somewhere. Subway got let go

I was hired on in january by "big country subs/subway" as a "manager trainee".
I really enjoyed working for "subway" and was excited at the oppurtunity to be training for the "store manager" position.

However, after only 1 mo. With the compony, I was let go.
This was a result of happenings a week prior to that, when after a manager meeting, I was asked by deniece coulter (The owner of big country subs), "how everything was going?"
I replied by letting her know that it was going well, however I was having trouble with the "one up, one down" theory.
I told deniece and tim coulter (The other owner of big country subs) that i've been use to the first comes first serve theory and that i'm trying to get use to subways way of doing things as far as sevice so I can be more effective.
She asked me if I would be angery if I walked into a resturant and ordered a steak and someone walked in after me and ordered a penutbutter and jelly samwich after I placed my order for a steak and they got thier order first before I got mine. Well ofcourse not I said because a penutbutter & jelly samwich takes less time then a steak... She disagreed with me saying that I would be angery that I didn't get my order first, becouse she would be if it was her.

She then went on to tell me that she was offended at my comment about the first come first serve theory.
I appoligised to her and told her I didn't mean to affend.
She said not to worry about it, that her and tim have thick skins.

Two days after that I got a phone call from tim coulter, he said he needed to speek with me.
I met him up at one of the stores.
Tim sat me down and told me that I was getting a "need for improovment form" filled out on me for questioning "big country sub" policy... And written up for alegly, swering infront of a guest.
He told me he felt that him and deniece were pushing me too hard with teaching me th administration part of the job as well as the operations part of it and felt that if I just focus on one without the other that I may learn quicker.
Tim took me off the adminstration part of it and my hours were cut.
A week later I had gone into the "subway" located at 1128 mockingbird drive in abilene, texas and orderd f sub samwiches using my 'subbucks"... Internal money used only for subway food.
Well, the cashier had trouble ringing up the"subbuck"discount and had asked me for help.
Around that time another guest had come into the store to order and the cashier had asked if she can go help her... I said yes.
While she was helping her, I found out what she did wrong... Told her about it and she said well just do an overring and re-ring it.
I tried to ring the order up using my casher/emplyee num. But because I was clocked out, the num. Would work.
She said, to just use her num. And that she was watching... So I did.
No money was taken... Didn't even cash the order out.

The next day.. Tim coulter came into the store and called me aside to ask me about the day before.
I told him what happen, however he said he had to let me go for using another emplyees # to ring up an order.
Tim wrote me up... My second write up mind you and terminated me.

"big country sub"policy states..."when being disaplaned... The action goes in this order...
1. A need for improovment form is filled out and sign by emplyee.
2. Write up is filled out and sign by emplyee
3. If three wite ups are filed agaist the emplyee, the employee will be terminated.

I had two write ups and only and was terminated.

Upon recieving my last paycheck... I realized that tim and deniece paid me by the hour.
I was hired on as a "manager trainee" at a rate of pay of $455.00/wk if worked a min. Of 35hrs.
I worked 48.

I feel I was treated unfairly by "big country subs" and that I was scewed out of my pay do to the fact I disagreed with deniece coulter at the manager meeting.

I would love to work for subway again... Just not "big country subs"

My hope is that this complaint is followed up and taken seriously. And that tim and deniece coulter are spoken too about this and that if it is found that they terminated me under false pretense that I get an appoligy and compinsated for my loss of pay.

Thank you

Sincerly,
David c. Best

Subway unethical gross people

I, a physical therapist, my fiance, an Episcopal Priest, and family were verbally attacked for asking these, um, people, to change their gloves. They first refused. Then, demanded to know why. I stated we're vegetarian and also have one with food allergy to all the tuna spread around. The woman mocked us stating "I'm not no self-righteous person, how do you ever eat in public? That's strange." The place was also filthy, smelled foul. Hickville? - I have the whole thing on FLIP video, hilarious but so sad they're so dumb and will have children.

I'm a vegetarian and work at subway as well, If you came into my store you'd be treated well and have the best subway sandwich around. There are 3 Subway stores in my town and everybody always tells me, that were the best store. They like us because were nice to our customers, treat them with respect and always do what asked. Changing gloves? Not an issue with me or any of my co-workers its completely understandable, I've worked at Subway for two years now. Anytime my gloves get anything from another sub on them, I change them immediately. I make and prepare food the way I like it, and to best in which I interpret what they'd like their sandwich to have on it. I think its repulsive that Subway stores/workers could ever be so rude and inconsiderate, especially concerning the glove issue, that is one of my biggest pet peeves as well as the sandwich itself looking great every time. I will say however, my store also gets its fair share of [censor]s that come in expecting us to treat them like [censor], because thats the type of service they've received at other Subway locations. Well heres a news flash people, Try going to a different store and don't walk through the door with a [censor] attitude just out to make somebody else's turn into a heap of crap. People that work at Subway and a lot of fast food restaurants are treated like crap constantly and annoyed with people on cell phones, demanding things, constantly asking how long something is going to take, [censor]ing about prices of food that are expensive to order/ship/receive/prepare/ etc. The list could keep going about how many things frustrate employees in this type of business. Not all stores are the same, and I will agree that some really do suck. management and the persons attitude about their life in general are huge factors as to possibly how one is treated. This to me is really sad. I will admit, at my old store, it sounded a lot like what some of you were describing. But their are also a few other stores I worked at that were completely different. Some employees make minimum wage, don't get a break during the day because their over 18 yrs old, work 30-40 hours a week 9-12 hour days and go to College full time. This too me sounds stressful, yeah it could be worse any they should be lucky they have a job, but when you live a life similar if not exact to this and you get to work and nothing is done, the line is out the door and customers are frustrated because we ran out of bread etc, [censor] happens. Sorry human beings can't be perma-nice 24/7 everybody has different stress levels and crap that happened too them throughout the day that you cant possibly make such judgements that all Subways are bad and their employees are just crap. Do some shopping, and why not ask the person one day, Do you like your job? Or why are you in a bad mood? Try to talk to them, I'd appreciate it If someone did that with me when I was by myself with a line to the door and I'd just found out an hour earlier my childhood dog died and no one would cover for me because the store was over hours. People appreciate it when customers try to calm the environment instead of just starring tapping your foot and sighing because your at the end of the line, the store only had scheduled one person for the night. [censor] happens people, when you don't know the hole story try to take the other persons side of view. Though it may seem like an easy job to many that any idiot could do, your wrong. I'm still learning things about Subway I never knew before and always keep an open mind. Sorry you guys have had bad experiences with Subway, I'd just say go to a different store or ask the people, whats your guys's deal? Positive attitudes from the get go are always a mood booster for someone thats sick of being at work, its just like anything else. Live n learn right?

just because you went to a bad Subway, doesn't mean all subway employees are like that. Mine isn't. You also have to think that maybe since you had a bad experience at one, you go into others with it already set in your mind that you are going to get attitude and bad service. Sometimes its about perception. Not everyone hates vegetarians, my boss happens to be a vegetarian. You also have to realize that even when they change their gloves they have already made meat sandwiches that have touched the vegetables. So, with changed gloves your veggies are already contaminated. There's only so much someone can do. If you have that much of a problem with it then maybe you should make your own subs and salads.

I agree with you. I am a vegan and I always have them change their gloves if they made a meat sandwich in front of me...I have gotten rude Subway employees ask me why and get all defensive to the point of making me feel uncomfortable! I also tell them not to cut my sandwich! How do they expect a vegetarian to be okay with them cutting my sandwich with the same knife that they just cut a meat sandwich with?!

I know it would be hard to do but I wish so much that restaurants like Subways, Moe's, Chipotle, etc would have a vegetarian station and a meat station so there is no cross-contamination! It's really gross when they make meat sandwiches/mexican food with plastic gloves on and they touch the meat as they are making the food and then use those same gloved hands to reach into the lettuce, tomatoes, olives, etc. with their meaty hands...
