Subscriber Services Former employee

You people that believe this company is a scam...I am here to tell you that I believe/know it is. As a former employee in the collections department for this company even I called the attorney general fearing I would be legally responsible for the way this company trains employees to not only scam people into these magazine accounts, but also train their employees to practice questionable collection techniques.

You want out of your account. Threaten to call and please actually call the Attorney General. They have and get so many complaints they are terrified of that statement. They also refuse to take your credit card off file? That's a crime. You have the right to be billed as you want. As a former employee I was told to "Never" take cards off file. Why you might ask...because their payment clearance will drop by 60%. Threats to the BBB will also grab their attention long enough to close out your account.

They will tell you they can reduce your payments or give you a shorter subscription. Don't take it. Let them know you feel as if they are refusing to cancel the service. If they rebut with I'm not refusing. Let them know if that's true why aren't you closing my account? It is NOT legal for them to refuse to terminate.

Last DO NOT HANG UP! I spoke with many people that were almost through my rebuttal stage and about to get to a supervisor to get their account closed but hung up out of fustration. They want this more then anything. Stay on the phone and repeat nothing but the fact that you want a supervisor, this is a scam, you're reporting to the BBB, and calling the Attorney General. Sorry forgot to add they do NOT always have a tape! Force them to play it. Even if they have one you can still cancel your account. The exact statement you agree to is "we ask that you not cancel because we have taken on the financial risk and the service is prepaid". They can ask all they want. They cannot force you.

This company is a scam - beware - they will tell you - you cannot cancel the subscriptions even through hardship.

Subscriber Services Deceptive marketing

The same as everyone else - deceptive marketing practices and overly aggressive call center agents. This time directed at my beautiful and trusting daughter who works long hours and goes to school and does not need a $1, 000 magazine subscription.

Here is some useful information that helped me get them to cancel my daughter's order. Send an email to the call center manager: Andy Ortez. [protected]@subscriberservices.biz and copy the operations manager: [protected]@subscriberservices.biz (maybe Andy's wife?) and the Information Technology Manager: Ron Glissmann [protected]@subscriberservices.biz and tell them you want to cancel your order. The owner of the company is Dave Keown. He has been in trouble before with the FCC: http://www.ftc.gov/os/1996/10/9623247a.htm The call center agent told me his number is: 303.926.4163.

Important: File a complaint on the Colorado BBB site and then call the Colorado BBB and ask to speak with the President: Su Hawk 303.758.2100 about your experience with the company.

My elderly aunt received a call from these guys offering her a two year subscription to the Enquirer magazine for price of $197.60 in June 2010. Her subscription from another company ran out in July. Here it is Jan 1, 2011 and after many calls to both Trend and Justin, and after promises to begin the subscription or refund the money - nothing. This company is a joke. Personally I am contacting the TX Attourney General.

Subscriber Services lying,fraud

They told me I would receive a 100 dollar gift card which I did not. They immediately began to deduct money from my bank without authorization and they coerced me into something I did not want to get into by telling me.to repeat what they say into a pre recorded robo call and I believe a class action lawsuit should be files againt this company

I started the Subscriber Service harrassing calls after i called a phone number looking for forclosed homes. The company that had the foreclosed homes gave me access to there website little did i know that they had given my number out to every tellemarketer in the world most of them I was able to get rid of thanks to a one hundred number but Subscriber Services was presictent and called me any where from three to four times a day rufly the whole week until I gave in. So I started there 79.95 month for 15 or 16 month program. I paid in for a while mind you they are still calling me about the payment and then i lost my job. For two or three months i didnt pay and then finally got a new job and owed them 1200 dollars left. Well I managed to save up four hundred and sixty five dollars and sent it to them. Still getting phone calls. Then finally saved up the remainder of the money owed and sent it to them. I got a letter from them stating that my account was closed and the final balance was zero. Then two months later a woman called saying that my account was closed and i owe no more money. Two years later im getting phone calls saying that i owe them more money. The man on the phone said i hadnt paid the full subscription that i had paid them a quarter of the actual final payment at this time im possably seeking a lawsuit for harrassment and fraud against these people

I was contacted by a company called Subscriber Services, Inc, who promised me magazine subscriptions on the cheap. I thought it was a good idea since I have been meaning to renew my subscriptions anyway. The rep gave me an option of paying off the entire bill in 16 months. I figure no harm, no foul. Long story short. I wanted to change my magazine subscriptions so I went online to see if the company had a website. Imagine my surprise when I found a report on complaintsboard.com instead.

Subscriber Services misrepresentation,fraudulent theft

I recieved a phone call from a company called "subscriber services" on April 12th 2011 (04/12/11) w/ a phone # of [protected] & was informed that I was talking to an employee named Shay in verifications saying that I won a hundred dollar ($100) gift card from Walmart along w/ 3 free magazines as long as I subscribed to just 1 more magazine for the low sum of three dollars & ninety cents ($3.90) per week & if I did not like the subscription I could change magazines or cancel the subscription at any time. I informed her that I couldnt afford the subscription & she ended up talking me in2 the deal anyway.. I asked her numerous times & told her r u sure Im only gonna be charged $3.90 & she assured me thats all that would be taken from my account. Well 2 hours later I get another call from a woman named Shantelle verifying my order for a subscription to 1 magazine for the low sum of... THIRTY THREE DOLLARS & SEVENTY THREE CENTS per month for 5 years.. WHAT? Who would subscribe to something like this?
I corrected & informed Shantelle that I only approved the company to take $3.90 & that NO-ONE even mentioned the sum of $33.73 & that I was NOT happy about this at all! I wanted my money refunded to me & cancel my subscription & lose my number! Now I have to wait 7 days to get my money back & im bouncing checks on my bills! Something needs to be done about these type of companys who say they r gonna do one thing & end up doing something entirely different!
