Real nice young Black man came to my door this afternoon. Stood back away from door when I answered. I did not let him in. Told me about magazines he was selling, how he gets points towards school and % of sales. He said they do not take donations. I am not usually a sucker, and this guy was really nice, so I bought. I had committed to buying and was writing the check. When he told me to make out the check to his name and NOT a business, I hesitated, but went ahead and finished out the transaction. I was busy when he caught me and he kept talking and talking, and finally I just wanted to get rid of him. I locked up to be on the safe side, and went back to my work. It was later that I realized I didn't get a receipt or any kind of proof of purchase with a number I could call. I kicked myself, got up here in the middle of the night and put a stop payment on the check. I don't know if this was a scam, but after reading these stories, probably so. This is what he told me to put on the check - his name-Joshua Cal, Strictly Business with #8121. He was not from Wichita, which should have given me another hint. Since it just happened today, I can't say that the magazine wouldn't have come through, but better safe than sorry.

I 'bought into' the sales pitch given to me yesterday (8/6/15); I felt like I wanted to help out the young man at my door. Bought a subscription to Boys Life, which was supposed to go to the local Homeless Shelter or youth program. Had second thoughts, did some checking online and found Strictly Business 1 to be a scam. I promptly put a stop payment on my check and sent an email to the address on my receipt, We'll see if I get any response.

OMG! I can't believe this. I've been scammed also. I ordered these magazines on 1/4/12 and haven't heard anything since. You try to put faith in giving to a great cause but stuff like this causes you to rethink that. I will never give to another door salesman. This is just terrible. How can I get my money refunded.

Reading this complaint just verifies I have also been scammed. That never occurred to me...too honest. NO more buying from salesmen at the door. I paid $65 for a 2 yr subscription to Readers Digest as a gift to my Mother and she has been waiting for it to arrive. There is no answer at the phone number on the receipt. How can people be such obvious crooks? Makes me ill!
The black man who came to the door had such a line and even recited from the Bible!
He will be dealt with!

I AM FLAT OUT APPAULED! What gives you the right to give out my current work number?! As you stated, I am a FORMER office manager! I have not worked for SB Magazines for almost 4 years and have never worked for Urban Success. I simply provided a phone number which can be found in a Google search. I'm not sure how you would feel if someone posted your contact information online if you're no longer associated with that business or organization. This just isn't right. Please cease and desist posting my information.

Contact Sonia Byrd at [protected] she is the former Office Manager for SB Magazines/Urban Success Inc. She does have current information on Lucius Pierce. She assisted me in getting a call back from him but I am still awaiting my refund.
