I sent an email into stoprepairbills.com and received a message stating that someone would call me. They called me a few hours later and I spoke with a Robert at ext. 2121. The guy kept trying to sell me on paying $295 down and about $128 or so per month. The commercial stated that my car would be covered for repairs if it was under 250, 000 miles. Mine just barely went over 150, 000 so apparently I wasn't elligible for the full repair coverage they had. He told me that they might be able to make an exception in my case because the SUV is in good shape and was just barely over 150, 000 miles. After he had told me how much it would cost (more than my full coverage auto insurance and more than my car payment each month) I told him that I didn't want it. I kept trying to tell him that I really didn't have very much money to spend each month on anything else (about $50/month). So he talked with his finance manager to drop the $295 down and he would only ask for $50 down and the +$100/month. I told him that I ONLY HAVE $50/MONTH IF THAT TO SPEND. He really didn't get it. He kept trying to get me to talk to his finance manager. I finally agreed, talked to him and told him I didn't want it and just to send out an info packet so I could give it to someone that might want it (just to be nice). They kept trying to sell me on it until I told them NO about 10 times in a row. The guy ended up hanging up on me and wasting about 20 minutes of my time.

The coverage really isn't worth it for that much. Granted, I have a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo LS with about 153, 000 miles on it. It doesn't have any problems right now. If I saved that much money each month, I'm sure I could pay for any repairs, maybe even buy a second car, with the amount of money they were asking me for.

In regards to Joshua...DUDE! I didn't have the $295 they wanted down that day. That's the main reason I didn't want to set it up. Did you miss the part where I said, I only have maybe $50/month to work with? I guarantee if I did call them back when it was broke down (hasn't yet, woot!) they wouldn't cover it. That's just asinine to do something like that and expect to have it covered. If your car is wrecked and you call an insurance company to have them cover it...do you think they will? I don't think so. The fact that the guy hung up on me, gives me no respect for this crap company. They also probably pay commission, hence the high pressure to buy their stupid service. NEVER trust a salesman working on commission. That just makes them say anything to sell you a product so they get paid more. C'mon dude, come up with a better argument than that next time.

Thanks for the other two people above numbskull that agree with me. It's good to see that most people can spot high pressure sales when they see it. High pressured sales never amount to anything good.

you guys are soooooo jaded! If anything...that guy was probably trying to help you out and you were just so stuck in your ways that you didn't want to listen. I have a warranty on my car and they work, and are definetly worth it. Of course a company is not going to tell you that they will cover your 10 year old vehicle with the full coverage and then let u call them
back when u decide its a good time to set it up. Otherwise people would never set it up first...they would just sit around and wait till something goies wrong and they are looking at
a $!1500 repair bill and then call back and set the coverage up on a broken down vehicle! Try to open up you closed mind and see where the insurance company side is coming from!

Thank you so much for sharing your painful story. I saw the commercial and called them. I asked if they had an office in alberta Canada and they asked for the postal code and told me, "yes"

High pressure sales for sure. After I told him the make and model and the mileage on the car ... he said he had to go talk to his Manager and see if I could get the preferred rate because my vehicle was only 10, 000 Km over the best package. He also mention (THREE TIMES) if I didn't buy it by the end of the phone call I wouldn't get the "same great price" That great price was 295.00 right away from my Visa card and the total price was 478.00 per year for 5 years. I drive a Chrysler 200o and my mileage is less than 70, 000 I don't drive much and my car is still in new condition. I thought the deal was too good to be true considering what people pay for car repairs these days ... and told him exactly that. I asked how the company could possibly make a profit ... He actually told me that his company "just wanted to help people and not concerned about that" ! LOL (did he actually think I would believe that?
He asked me for my Vin number and even though I told him at the beginning of the conversation that I didn't want to commit until I had all the information I needed; he continued with the high pressure. He then told me he would wait until I went to car and got the number! I laughed. I told him I wanted to talk to someone before I signed up. He asked me who I needed to talk to! (as if this was his business) I told him a friend. The (friendly voice suddenly changed and became somewhat dominant) He started talking very fast and told me I didn't understand that unless I signed up now the offer wasn't going to be available. I thanked him again and hung up while he was still talking.
WHEW! Thank God for the internet and for people like you that write in and help the rest of us. Thanks so very much!
