Stoneleigh Recovery Associates Unknown company gave no info

A rep from this company called today stating they were trying to reach my mother for personal business she has with their company. They had several numbers and gave me names of people that were no longer in her life. She has been unavailable for several years and her phone number did not lead them to anyone-anywhere. They would not give any information because I was not her. They would not advise what type of services their company was about so I would not help them in any way. I told them that without at least telling me what kind of services they provide I was not going to answer any questions. Then I lied and told the rep that I had power of attorney on my mothers behalf. The caller said that I could fax a copy to them and then and only then would they disclose any information to me. Otherwise they could have a three way call with them, me and my mother to get permission to disclose information to me. I didn't go for it. I am aware of my mothers expenses as few as she had and am managing them appropriately. Sounds like an attempt to perpetrate fraud against the elderly. I told the caller I was aware of what "recovery" meant and not to call back.

Stoneleigh Recovery Associates Collections recovery

I bought a Kawasaki in 1988 and paid it off in 1992 and later sold the bike . 23 yrs later I start getting letters stating I owe $1, 973 and for $190 they will take it off my credit rating. I told them many times I sold the bike, clearly I had the pink slip or the finance company would have it and I could not have sold it. They insist on a letter from 23 yrs ago or pay them, essentially blackmailing me for a 3 decade old purchase that is paid off!

Stoneleigh Recovery Associates false bill

I received a "collection" bill for almost $3, 000.00! Guess what? I haven't even had a credit card for over 20 years! Somebody needs to stop whoever is doing this. I don't usually take time to file complaints or anything, but this crossing the line. I'm sick of it

I received a bill from this company stating I have a deliquent debt from a hospital. I never was a patient in said hospital and the hospital has no record of me or a bill. This supposed bill was from 2003, hello it's 2016 and this is the first I'm hearing of any bill!

Stoneleigh Recovery Associates Fraudulent Collection Efforts on a Debt Already Paid

Got a letter today from Stoneleigh Recovery Services LLC, a collection agency. A Mr. Andrew Howard wrote the letter to tell me that a credit card account I had long ago (early 1990s) had been purchased by his company in order to collect the outstanding balance. I paid off this debt in the mid-1990s through another collection agency, and I fortunately have kept that paperwork after all of these years. Furthermore, this debt no longer appears on my credit reports, and if it does it says "PAID IN FULL." It has been a several years since I've gotten one of these fraudulent collection agency letters which tries to dupe me into paying off a debt I already paid off. I simply throw the threatening letter away. This is why it's always a good idea to save every piece of correspondence when you pay off a debt. Saving those documents comes in handy when crooks like Andrew Howard of Stoneleigh Recovery Services LLC try to fraudulently collect money.

Stoneleigh Recovery Associates Harrassment

My delinquent account was referred to Stoneleigh Recovery from Vion Receivables. I've never heard of Vion Receivables. My original account originated with Chase Bank and I was making payments. My checking acct was automatically debited each month for payment. The agreed time expired and Chase didn't receive a payment for 3 months and turned it over for collections. Once I realized the problem I wanted to assume the same payment plan, but by then it had been sold. When SRA picked it up, I allegedly owed $7, 566 and now they are saying that I owe them $12, 588.51 and are demanding payments. They informed me that I can do a 30% buyout for $ 5278.11, if I had that much cash laying around I wouldn't owe anyone I don't know how they received my cell phone number, but every time I look up it's SRA calling my cell. I would appreciate it, if you can help me to stop the harrassing phone calls. When I get some money (windfall) they will be the first to get paid.

The people that I talked to were very unhelpful, rude and tried to get information from me that in an unprofessional manner. They were very accusatory and not very polite. They interrupted me while I was trying to explain myself and showed no evidence of wanting to try and work with me.

Stoneleigh Recovery Associates Harrassing phone calls

They called my work phone and was demanding things from me and telling me how embarassing it is that I don't pay my bills. he did not say what he was calling on. He did not say he was calling to collect a debt. I called him back after having to hang up on him because he was screaming at me. I gave him permission to talk to my dad. I said my dad will call you. within that minute he called my dad. He also started screaming at my dad along with another women from that company and then was saying things like "Now I see why your 24 year old daughter acts the way she acts" Just jerks and from what I have been reading they are false. My dad said he would give them some money each month and they said no its to late we need the it all in full.

It seems I posted the incorrect company name yesterday while attempting to post to the consumer complaint board. The illegal debt recovery is from Stoneleigh Recovery Associates in Illinois. This illegal collection notice in excess of 10, 000.00 is a Federal Offense. This is NOT my debt to pay. Sorry about the previous misposting misposting.

Stoneleigh Recovery Associates Harrassing rude phone calls

I was called this morning and was totally harrassed and they were so rude. I was threatened, called names, he then called my employer and was out of control with them. My employer in return told the man on the phone who had identifed himself as Scott Miller that he was not to call again. I understand that there are bill collectors, however with their scare tactics and procedures I am surprised that they have a job. What can be done about this agency?

Stoneleigh Recovery Associates Misinformation

Mr. Brian Levy promised that if I set up an arrangement of payment but could not meet that I could call an rearrange the payment.
This however was not the case nobody answered the phones on the 28th, and the 29th of November. When I talked with the boss of the company Mr. Johnson he said he did not have any workers there on Friday due to Thanksgiving but did on Saturday.

When I finally did get a hold of them on Monday, Dec 1, Mr. Johnson was unfamiliar with the information Mr. Levy gave me about changing a payment date.

The payment was supposed to come out on 11/30/2008 and Mr. Levy knew I wanted to change that because he called me back on 11/29 after hearing my message. He said call back within 2 hours to talk to him. I called back 8 times in the two hours and left 6 messages and he did not only not call me back but put my payment through anyways.

This company will tell you anything to get your information and then when you hold them to the information they gave you pretend like you don't know what your talking about.

These people called me to ask me if my neighbor was Mr. blank blank. I said yes it was. He then proceeded to tell me to please put a note on my neighbors door with his information to call ASAP as they had some "exciting" news to give them. Oh come on...! You really think all people are really that stupid?!?!? That is not my job nor is it my roll to do their job! I will not invade my neighbors', whom I don't know that well, privacy. That is unfair practice in my book. Even if they owe somebody something. I would be mortified if my neighbor did that to me on just a phone call from a stranger. Bad practice people.

Stoneleigh Recovery Associates - Fraudulent/Unlawful Collection Practices

Stoneleigh Recovery Services has made several fraudulent and unlawful attempts over the last two years to recover an invalid debt from me. By one after another, this unscrupulous entity attempts to dupe consumers into paying debts that they really do not owe. Frankly, it smells like a Nigerian scam, like the one I saw on "Dateline." These scoundrels need to be arrested and deported!
