Steve Hargreaves aka Stephen Hargreaves
was the CEO of International Innovations Limited (IIL) International Innovations Europe Limited (IIE) until June 20, 2012 and has now established a new company in Malta to raise funds for a new venture which, I believe, is going the same way as all his previous ones.
Hargreaves has never established a company that has been successful, starting in 1999 with Richter Technology, Linear Energy, SDTL and recently IIL/IIE. What are the chances his new company, IIL-Malta, will go the same way? I would say 100%!
His only personal investment was $600 for 400m shares in IIL (launched with 600m shares).
His modus operandi is simple:
1. Establish a company and issue lots of shares to yourself - at least a third or more of the shares
2. Get hold of an exciting patent by buying it with newly issued shares and if necessary involve the inventor as co-founder. Get your name on the Patent.
3. Establish yourself as CEO and Chairman making sure that your remuneration is at least €200, 000 plus all expenses with pension pot on top.
4. Issue new shares to whoever needs to get compensated for providing a service to the company; make life intolerable for fellow directors encourage them to leave.
5. Start selling your own shares to unsophisticated investors at fantastic prices to finance your very expensive lifestyle (€200’000 is not enough to make ends meet)
6. Work towards a public listing of the company but never do it. Always find excuses why it couldn’t have been done when intended.
7. Use the “fact” that the company is going to list soon as bait to convince shareholders to buy more shares (average down). Once the company is listed the shares will be more expensive.
8. Delay paying taxes or don’t pay at all. Blame everyone else for failure.
9. Keep pleading for money from shareholders to finance the running of the company, patent renewals etc. etc. because you are unable to run a business with a proper budget and cost control.
10. Do lots of travel (all in style - preferably first class - and take a companion of your choice along). Remember, expenses come first and patent renewal fees last.
11. When the tax office applies too much pressure, skip the country. Relocation paid for by the shareholders.
12. and start steps 1 - 11 all over again preferably in a country where it’s easy to frustrate the authorities of previous countries you have operated from [i.e. Australia then Poland].
Mr Hargreaves always sounds very convincing because deep down he believes everything he says and does. He thinks he is simply the best! Any potential investor is well advised to check Hargreaves’ credentials and should consider the possibility that Mr Hargreaves could be deluded when he tells [his version of] the truth. You will notice he always blames others (events and mostly persons) for everything that didn’t go his way, because his way is the only way - there is nothing else! At the end of the rainbow [after the company is listed on the stock exchange] is a pot of gold waiting for you.

Would you trust Steve Hargreaves?
I see he is now back in Australia. There have been several complaints to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission from as far back as 2004 up to 2014. How does he get away with it ?

Stefan you are 100% correct...Hargreaves is dreaming. I took your advice and viewed your new web sites, they must have cost you some money- perhaps this is where the time and money has gone? Hargreaves, be realistic...the big energy companies are all ready producing the same ''inventions'' that you market as your own patented designs. There is no reason why any person should or would invest in your small company. If any person wants to invest in an energy company with the same ''invention'' as Hargreaves they should look at Enerji who are in FACT already listed on the ASX.

I was talking with people on the weekend about Hargreaves. Steve Hargreaves now lives at Ephraim Island in a multi million dollar waterfront villa, and drives a Maroon Mercedes Benz with gold number plates. I am told that every day he blows our and everyone's money on expensive lunches and wine at a restaurant called Mano's on the esplanade at Paradise Point.

Steve Hargreaves has now started a harrassment campaign against me simply because I emailed him alerting him to the claims made about him on this website, which incidentally, he has yet to lay to rest. He has started a campaign of emails and after asking him politely to stop sending them, he just kept resending them. This I think proves one point at the very least...he is totally unprofessional in the way he conducts himself and really quite childish. I think it also puts an enormous question mark over his integrity and, since he has been unable to clear his name of the accusations made by many on here, I would suggest that there is likely to be more fact than fiction in the comments made on this site. I told him that if the harrassment continued I would take action with the authorities and this has now been done. I have forwarded all correspondence to them as requested and will be forwarding any further emails from him to them also. If you have had a similar experience with this man feel free to contact me throught his site and I will pass on the details of the person dealing with this issue. Cheers

These comments need sending to the Financial Services Authorities in every Country where he targets investors UK, Australia, Poland, in fact all European Countries. He now has started in Malta. At least anyone checking the FSA then they would have some record of him !
Investors could then make up their minds who is telling the truth (Mr Hargreaves or everyone else !)
Myself, along with many many others who was simply stupid and naive enough to actually believe this Steve Hargreaves vermin, now is out of pocket approximately 50k! To most other people, this may not sound like a huge amount of money, but when it's your life savings and your deposit on a house with an annual income of approx 60 - 70k in these economic times... the loss of this money has virtually ruined me! As I had no money after my investment in 2000, I began to purchase necessities on credit!
Today, 12 years later, I now owe over 50k in unsecured debits! I would like to blame SH for this, as I went through years and years of false hope, only to sadly come to the realization just recently, that all is gone! Truth is, that sadly I blame myself for being soo gullible and stupid for not doing any type of due diligence on this ###!
To rub salt into my wounds, I had also convinced a few of my close friends to invest, so now I obviously feel responsible for their losses as well.
After making my investment 12 years ago, I had kept in contact with Steve and witnessed his constant lavish lifestyle for years! I had always wondered where the endless supply of seemingly residual income had come from? Funding his 200k Porsche, his $2000 per week apartment at Quay Grand on Circular Quay, always being spotted in the most expensive restaurants shouting everyone dinner and drinks and all the while being off his head on expensive booze! Quite simply, he was "buying" his friends via their own money, only to dump them years later when the penny finally dropped!
Some years later when I had ran into him on the Gold Coast, he had the nerve to ask for more money with different promises! with very cheeky avoidance when confronted with the question, "when are we going to see this company list"?
To my amazement, he was then driving an even more laving and expensive car, a gold 300k Mercedes with gold plates to match his gold tooth and gold Rolex! I walked away from that conversation in total disgust, only to find out that no more than 3 months afterwards, he had fled to Poland!
This absolute criminal is not only totally deluded by his false sense of achievement, he literally has NO moral fibre..NONE!
It is quite astounding that his has the gall to now pursue his failing "modus operandi" in yet another country!
I guess the redeeming part of this saga is that 10 - 15 years ago, when he was flying high on other peoples $$$, the internet was no where near as prevalent as it is today!
Hargreaves, if you are reading this, your gone mate! Game over! And quoting your brainchild, "together we are strong" ! Being the many many shareholders you have ruined!
Never underestimate a wounded animal, he only gets stronger and angrier! I will be on the front line to witness your downfall your parasite!
Add me to the list of people he has conned ... as a young person ready to buy a home I instead invested a heard earned $50, 000 in Richter Technology based on the promises of Stephen Hargreaves, who was supposed to be a good friend ... that was probably close to 20 years ago now .. all I got in return was a plethora of broken promises, pleading for more money and excuses that blamed everyone else for the failings of the company then pleading to invest in a "new, better, sure win" company ... same story as everyone else is telling.
The only way Stephen is going to be stopped is to bring him back here and let the government deal with him (and we know how much luck we had with the government trying to bring back Skase!) or or wait until he swindles the wrong person and they end up finding his body in the bottom of a swimming pool. In the mean time, internet is a powerful tool ...I strongly suggest using it to spread the word ...including to the foreign governments. I'm sure they aren't going to be impressed to have someone living there who is going to rip off their own people!

The two quotes in the speech bubbles were taken from SH’s recent emails to shareholders:
"I have the highest respect for you and your support. We (you and me) NEVER, NEVER, NEVER give up please!"
"We have a future - together we are strong!"
I believe many of my fellow shareholders large and small have had just about enough of this Rouge CEO, namely SH. His constant change of direction, his lies, name calling, innuendos, and denial of his actions when questioned by anyone, he is not going to change no matter what.
SH has always been self indulgent and reverses the issues to suit his end goals. From the day he scarpered to Poland, and definitely when he set up IIE, which by the way was a week or so after arriving in Europe. At this point he made his intentions very clear, this is when he jumped ship. At this point he was hedging his each way bet as a) if the ATO chased him for IIL's liabilities, he was positioned to tell them where to go, b) if ASIC hit him with failure to show diligence as an Australian company CEO, or if they tried to sue him for not complying with the companies act, he would tell ASIC exactly what he would tell the ATO, if the shareholders jumped up and down and blamed him for allowing IIL to go down the jugalar, he would blame everybody but himself...all in all it was a good game plan, but what SH did not expect was a REVOLT from the majority of shareholders. When this happened he conned another sucker to lend the company $200-$250K for working capital to progress IIL & IIE, but he had deliberately done this and sweetened the new investors deal by dropping IIL's share price by 75%, this was so SH could pay himself by disguising his share as wages...or call it what you want, it gave SH the means of getting his hands on some hot money...all the time knowing if he was to be questioned he had an answer in the ready. The drop in IIL's price was a master play, because he realised he could not raise any money from his faithful group of old shareholders, or new ones for that matter.
All of this came about because SH's trump card at all times was to be in total control of the company IIL, and no one could touch him, not the ATO, not ASIC, not the shareholders...he was well and truly too far away to be brought to justice, nor did he have to show transparency of expenses of the money his new friend gave him or new money via IIE...no fly's on SH...by the way that $250K is GONE!
I am one of the 660 shareholders of IIL, International Innovations Limited, registered in Sydney, Australia. The CEO, founder and largest shareholder Mr. Steven Hargreaves has received in total 12 million AUD and has issued the fantastic amount of 1.400.000.000 (1.4 billion) shares over the years since 2003 at prices from 40 cents to 1/4 of a cent.
Initially there were 600m shares of which he owned 400m. At least 280m of his privately held shares were sold over the years for prices between [at least] 40cents and 1/4 of a cent to top up his income.
From the very beginning shareholders had been promised the company would be listed on Sydney Stock Exchange or any other stock market but so far nothing has happened except some patents being approved in EU and some other countries.
Since 2003 no achievements;
- NO proof of concept, (POC)
- NO proof of working prototype,
- NO proper and legitimate expense and income plan.
- NO business plan
The accounting firm PKF in Melbourne have not been able to produce a clean account for the last couple of years.
Mr. Hargreaves apparently played with company money on the stock exchange and lost some 600’000 AUD and had tried to cover up the loss so now the Australian Tax Authorities want to talk to him.
Consequently Mr. Hargreaves has left the country and moved to Poland from where he, this last year [protected] has set up a new company International Innovations Europe (IIE) registered in the UK and tried to transfer all IP rights for the European patents from IIL to IIE letting the IIL shareholders in Australia go down the drain.
His attempts to raise new venture capital completely failed. The 660 shareholders have now stopped this adventure and no one is investing any new capital whatsoever.
Mr. Hargreaves has said (June 2012) he is going to start up a new company ! in Malta raising venture capital and exploiting the same technology as IIL was going to do !
Do NOT invest in Mr. Hargreaves business adventure, he is nothing but a naive wannabe and a business con man, it’s beyond any doubt whatsoever. A lot of naive investors (including myself) have trusted Mr. Hargreaves, believing his word without doing a proper due diligence. Yes he is an extremely good talker and produces heaps of text documents that say virtually nothing - only full of promises. Mr. Hargreaves can't walk the walk. The signs of a typical fraud is clear;
Big talker.
Big promises.
No delivery.
When criticized, its always somebody else’s fault.
Don’t listen to specialists or board of directors.
Have a vey low level and a bad attitude towards individual share holders.
Runs away and refuses to take responsibility.

Whatever you do, NEVER support him as it will be a waste of time and money and you will never see anything for it. Stay away from the smooth talker Stephen Hargreaves. Mate what about the many many years shareholders have been awaiting a return from Select Design (SDTL) and International Innovations Ltd. (IIL) - Does this guy ever do anything other than consume money? Salary $300000 per year I heard. No money coming into the company other than from shareholders.
Cannot believe that I was fooled by him. Someone I know lost all of their retirement money on SDTL shares hundreds of thousands of $AUS. the guy fooled Mum and Dad shareholders that SDTL was to list soon and the same with IIL.

BEWARE. Stephen Hargreaves has been tempting investors for 13 years with promises of listing his Company on various stock exchanges. By his own admission there were 660 investors alone in IIL . This man has raised (and spent) approx $13 million and now that there is nothing left he will undoubtedly continue to attempt to raise more money. My advice - DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN A CENT. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. I purchased at 15 cents - they are now worth 1/4 of a cent and I consider I was also conned. Whatever he says he cannot claim this is a success story after 13 years.!
