Ster-Kinekor movie quality and service

I just had a terrible experience at your movie theatre in musgrave, my brother and I went to see how to train your dragon hidden world. We paid for 3D tickets and then were told due to power issues we would have to wait, almost 20 minutes later we were told we could go inside. However, there was no one at the tills to sell us popcorn or beverages. Another 10 minutes later we finally got in only to discover the film was not only not 3D but also froze 2 times throughout the screening and jumped two key moments in the story. The service and experience were honestly terrible and we are not looking forward to ever visiting Musgrave movies again. We were refused refunds and ignored.

Ster-Kinekor slandering of christian faith by ng kerk's movie dominee tienie. please remove from cinemas

Please remove the slanderous movie Dominee Tienie as it is a serious attack and very bad mistepresentation of the Christian faith.

Drunk, confused Dominees (church leaders), swearing desperate NG Kerk dominee's wife,

and worst of all, misrepresentation of Bible.. totally taking scripture regarding Proverbs' wisdom regarding benefit of 2 people supporting each other out of context.. applying it to approval of same-sex marriage.

That scripture has no reference to any form of marriage... of any gender.

Such a statement can compare with applying a fligt of a jet plane with a horse. Absolutely no relevance to each other.

In any bussiness/ marketing such misrepresentation would be illegal

Ster-Kinekor incorrect advertising...

We watched aquaman on friday, it was a really enjoyable movie, I decided to take along my family to watch it on tuesday... (1/2 price movie day, and when I tried to use my club cards for me and my 2 sons the system would not allow me to get it at half price as we've seen it before...……. Thats not what you advertise...…? And I quote, your club promotion say
"1/2 price tuesdays get 50% off any movie (excluding d-box seats), all day on tuesday"
50% off of any... Movie...…! I landed up paying full price for all 8 of us...?

Ster-Kinekor plastic straws

Hi there.

I am nineteen years old and I went to Ster-Kinekor Cape Gate last Wednesday to see a movie with a friend of mine. I am shocked and disgusted that such a huge movie house still OPENLY HANDS OUT PLASTIC STRAWS! Nowadays most places either hand out PAPER straws or no straws at all.

I feel that Ster-Kinekor has the ability to make a massive impact and difference, but instead they remain ignorant to the battle against plastic and clearly don't have an environmental conscience. They really should make an effort to steer away from plastic.

Ster-Kinekor age restrictions on marvel movies

Hi I am very upset that my children are unable to watch spiderman and bumblebee bee due to age restrictions. Why does marvel create clothing for children below age 10 if they cannot watch the movies. Bumble bee as well, there are toys made for kids below 10 of these characters which kids love. They want to wear the clothing get all excited but when movie comes out cannot watch. This is really not fair. Please can someone do something about this.

Ster-Kinekor false advertising

We took Ster-Kinekor up on their ladies night offer to watch Second Act on Wednesday night 28 November 2018 at Brooklyn Mall. The invite specified complimentary welcome drinks Xcite Energy Ciders, canapes, a free gift and so much more.
We were at the movies at 19:40. The guys were not ready for us at all. The drinks were warm, and no opener to open the drinks, no canapes, and the gifts ran out. Is this deliberate false advertising, lack of planning or both? How will this be rectified?

Ster-Kinekor "two tails"

To whom it may concern

I recently took my children to the movies as a treat and the movie they chose was "Two Tales". I was absolutely appalled at the quality of the this low budget, poorly made film. I felt the need to apologize to my children for this terrible experience!

Sterkinekor this is not the standard we expect from you. It was shocking to me that you would air a film of this poor quality let alone charge patrons to watch a film like this.

Ster-Kinekor no movies for under 16's

On Saturday 3 November we went to Newtown Junction Mall to watch a movie. I cant understand how such a busy place could not have a kids movie playing. What are we suppose to do with our kids in the meantime. Also the cashier that was working there turns around and still tells me that there will on be a movie on the 14th. How do you cater to the needs of families if there are no under age movies playing. All movies were over 16 and that still over weekend. this is totally ridiculous that I need to go to another mall just for that.

Ster-Kinekor movie screening times on two occasions being wrong as well as no feedback from a query raised in august

As per query number CAS 174739 W4X3X9.logged this query in August yet no response. Today I check movie times at carnival city for Night school On 28 October 2018, shows starting time at 18:45, we get there and the time is for 19:45 so I went back on website to check if was my fault yet the website does reflect 18:45. Your'll are wasting our time and money driving there for nothing and this is the second time with this issue from ster kinekor. Please attend to yourlls query as yourll seem to be wasting our time typing aswell

Ster-Kinekor lighting in cinemas

We were at the movies at Gateway Umhlanga on Monday 22 October. When we entered the movie 10 minutes before the movie was supposed to start it was only the lights on the stairs that were on. I had to switch on my cellphone torch to help us get to our seats. I also had to assist two other elderly people because it was to dark to get to their seats. After the movie finished we sat for a while but the lights was not switched on. I hold onto my husband to assist him not to fall walking down the stairs. I missed a step and fell down 5 stairs. If I did not hold onto my husband's hand I would have hurt myself badly. My legs are badly be used and I hurt my shoulder. Even the perfume in my handbag broke because I fell on my bag. Gateway is not the only cinema that is dark inside. We live in Centurion and we encounter the same problem their. We love to go to the movies, but if we cannot get in and out without getting hurt, we will have to stop going there.

Ster-Kinekor non existent service

Last Thursday the 11th of October my husband & I went to watch a movie at Ster-kinekor Tygervalley. The movie started at 20:15, so we were there at 20:00 to get popcorn before it started.
At the confectionary counter were 2 workers. Not one acnowledged us standing there. The popcorn was just about finished so I asked if it's going to be refilled and was told no it's finished and they are cleaning the pots. The worker just answered and carried on writing or doing what ever she was doing still not taking note of us there. Then I carried on asking if someone was going to make more or maybe inform us what was going on, still no assistance. Then I hit the counter top with my flat hand which most certainly caught everyone's attention and the one worker ran to the back, I insisted on speaking to a manager. The very young manager apologized & said they are working on the problem and will bring our popcorn to our seats. He said that the worker had just finished training. Well I certainly suggest that they go back on training to teach them how to communicate. How can you just ignore a customer and the customer needs to literally beg to be served? Totally unacceptable! There was another elderly gentleman who stood behind me also complaining about how rude the workers were at the other counter. Really Ster-Kinekor?

Ster-Kinekor venom imax eastgate mall

Good day. I booked two tickets to watch the 8pm screening of Venom in iMax for today, 12th October 2018. I had purchased the tickets yesterday via the App and therefore simply had to collect the tickets before the movie today. I am however upset about the fact that this was a 3D iMax screening, however the Billboard/Poster at Eastgate shows that the movie is 2D. Also, the printed ticket did not indicate that it was a 3D movie. We therefore purchase slushies and proceeded to watch the trailers in the iMax theatre. The was an instruction to put on 3D glasses, however the trailers that followed were not in 3D and we had no problem watching them. Once the movie started it became clear that this was a 3D movie and we therefore had to get up and leave the movie to buy 3D glasses. I was very excited for this movie, but it was spoiled due to that fact that we missed the first 10 minutes of it to buy 3D glasses for a movie that was not advertised as 3D. Also, the lady who scanned our tocket gave no indication that it is a 3D mivie. This is highly unacceptable. I am a frequent movie goer, I watch between 2-4 movies every month. I would like to request that more attention to detail is given, especially on big movies showing in iMax. We were not the only people who had to leave to purchase glasses. Please attend to the matter soonest as this was a highly frustrating situation. Thanking you, Sacha-li

Ster-Kinekor website

My family and I were looking forward to watching The Meg, I googled the times on the Ster Kinekor website and we arranged our day accordingly.

Upon arrival at Northmead Square we were advised that the movie was not showing at that time and numerous other clients had complained that the website was not updated.

What a disappointment and no-one really seemed to care that much.

We are frequent clients and should this happen again we can go elsewhere.

Ster-Kinekor trailers/advertisements

I took my kids to watch a movie yesterday at blue route mall. We had to watch 30mins of trailers and advertising before the movie started. I think this is a ridiculous amount of time and instead feeling relaxed we get irritated. Ive noticed over the years that te trailers are getting longer and longer. Obviously you are looking for more revenue from the ad companies. However people like us will just go in half an hour later and not be there for the ads. I dont think tge ad companies will be very happy with that result. I recommend 15 mins ..and hope you review this case.

Ster-Kinekor service and planning

Good day

Last night, 02/10/2018, I took my son to go and watch a movie at, ster-kinekor promenade.
We arrived a hour prior to the start of the movie to ensure we would get tickets and purchases from your concession stand.

After queuing for more than 30 minutes, no movement was happening to the queue.
I approached the cashier to find out why they were taking so long to get tickets released.
There were only two pay points open!
I was advised that, they have run out of change!?
I then requested to see the manager (jonathan, I believe), who gave me the same story, as well as, that they were short staffed.

To ster-kinekor management/planning :
1: you know it is school holidays! - plan
2: you know it is tuesday (half price)
3: you know you have staff resourcing issues. - plan or get managers /supervisor to open more pay points.

I suggest you urgently address the above mentioned issues being experienced at
Ster-kinekor promenade!

I personally will not be going to your cinema's any longer and am rating this experience as a 1 (extremely poor).

Ster-Kinekor seats and no payment ticket

We went to see the new Abba movie last week at the Northmead Square Ster Kinekor movie house in Benoni. Firstly, we paid cash, no slip, no ticket and the guy said he had no change and that we should get it from where we were going to buy drinks. We bought two drinks and got change but again no slip, no ticket. We were just let into the movie without a ticket...a very loose arrangement for sure.

The seats desperately need to be vacuumed. I started itching on my head after putting my head back on the seat and then started itching on my back and legs...…
I guess they are covered in dust mite or whatever...please vacuum the seats, and look up 'dust mite' on google.

We shall not be going there again.

Ster-Kinekor wet seats messed with cool drink

Dear Ster Kinekor

Hi, middle June I took my two little eager kids to see Incredibles 2... sadly my seat and my sons seats was soaked in spilled cooldrink from the movie before. I was told that they couldn't move us to alternate seats as the theater was completely booked out which was a lie because there were many available seats. instead we were given plastic bin lining to sit on which was very uncomfortable. I sat on the stair floor next to my daughter while my son sat uncomfortably on a chair rise. Really disappointed and upset.

Ster-Kinekor the behaviour and attitude of staff/ and service

Good day

I am writing this letter due to a problem I encountered while attending a movie at sterkinekor. Normally, minor inconveniences do not bother me, but I was surprised and disappointed at the treatment and service I received.
First incident: I went to see the 5:45 P.M. showing of Ant-man and the Wasp at Maponya mall on the 4th of August. I approached the counter where one of your employees simply pointed me to a screen and told me it was self service if I was using my debit card to pay…She did not direct me on how to operate the screen, or give me any instructions, she to simply told me "it was so obvious, even a kid could do it", What is obvious to one person is not obvious to the other, and for her to say a kid could do it, was simply calling me stupid. I felt insulted and was not helped at all by the people paid to assist me.

Second incident: In my experience the lights have to be turned off when the movie starts, but this time the light where only turned off half an hour in to the movie, after I had gone to them to request them to turn off the lights.

I would respectfully ask that you look into your employees' behaviour and attitude to ensure that this sort of problem does not happen again. I honestly did not have a good experience, I'm not happy, not at all.

So I take my boy to watch mamma Mia at Bayside mall, this focking arrogant lady by the doors tells us rudely he can't go in his not old enough after telling her he is she wants proof all the other people kids walk in like it's going out of fashion but we stopped? This [censored] then insist we must give her proof of his age. That's not even the damn issue seeing that we from mitchells plain and it will take longer to fetch the damn proof then watching the movie. So who the hell do I take this up with? As my focken child was crying due to the manner she told him to stand that side

Ster-Kinekor what product? what service? - useless

Went to the Cinema quarter to 8. Tuesday, 17 July 2018, 20:33. First there is NO ONE at the counter and NO popcorn in the warmers. When someone FINALLY saw us at the counter we were told they already cashed up and started fighting over who must serve us. I then asked the guy behind the counter where the popcorn is and if they were gping to serve us the old popcorn that was already tossed in the bags to throw away. He laughed and my question and said no. I asked him again is he sure and he said yes sorry its thrown out but its still warm. It is expected of me as customer to pay R30 plus Rand for popcorn that is thrown AWAY?! To crown it off he lied to me. Then no one was available to let us in at the cinema. Waiting outside I showed my electronic ticket. He took my phone and turned away mumbling he need to print a ticket. Since WHEN? And WHY is there a scan option available on my E ticket if its not scan able? WHY waste paper ? USELESS
