Steel Smith INC Buildings located in Pittsburg PA (Owner Donald Gilmore) are and is a company that will RIP You OFF blind! These con artist will scam you for money and doesn't deliver the product paid for.
I recently had dealing with Steel Smith INC in Pittsburgh pa steelsmithinc.com with the understanding that they needed a deposit to recieve the stamped building plans.. I spoke with them for several months before and believed they were an honest company, so went to pittsburgh to have a personal meeting with him.. They took my deposit with open arms and promised me I would get the stamped plans within a weeks time.. I returned home never heard back from them, I called them dozens of times with no return calls and also texted with no return texts.After a few weeks they finally called me back telling me that he needed more money for the building plans because they were going with another company and they required a larger deposit...
At that time I told them I don't want to build a building with them because of their disregards toward keeping in contact with me and that I want my money back -- DO NOT GET ANY STAMPED PLANS! A few weeks pass and I never got a refund, but I did recieve an email from SteelSmith INC stating that I owed them more money for their time, that they charge $350.00 per hour and if I bothered them again they would turn me into the police, and file charges on me for harassment and have a restraining order put on me..
I am writing this report because I don't want to see anyone else get RIPPED OFF by this company. Finding an honest steel building company to build you a shop or building is very hard and I hope and pray that if you live in this area of Pittsburg you will think twice on calling these people... They are true con artists, total rip offs, and complete liars, they will take you for what ever they can get from you and then threaten you with law enforcement..

The fake review posted above by the user Tomstommy is 100% fake! I have done business with Steelsmith for years and this is not the way they operate. For the 4 years I have worked with Don and his team at Steelsmith, I have never known a number you could text them. Their number is an 800 number and last time I checked, you could not text an 800 number. They have also been nothing but nice and professional. They do not charge $350 an hour and do not charge you for their time. I had Jason making changes to my building for an entire year with multiple quotes and he never charged me for anything. The only time I had to make a payment was when we moved forward with the project and I paid for stamped drawings so we could get the project started. I can't stress enough on how much I love Steelsmith and how great of a job they did. This company is the last company that would think about scamming you. I know first hand because I had an issue with my project, that was my fault and not theirs, but Don took lead and fixed the issue that wasn't even his problem to begin with. What company would do that if they were going to rip you off? NONE! Except Steelsmith. I recommend them to everyone and you should contact them for your steel building with no concerns at all.
